***DOG GUIDELINES AND FEES***
We are a dog friendly property. The owner will allow up to 3 dogs. Guests with dog(s) will be charge a $150 dog fee at time of booking. There is an additional dog fee of $99 for the second and third dog. The initial $150 should be charged at the time of booking. If the fee is not charged at the time of booking, the host will inform guests of the payment process for the initial dog fee and the additional dog fee, if it applies.

Guests who choose to bring dogs without registering them or bring more than 3 dogs may be escorted off the property and no refund will be given.

1. Please leash your dog at all times when outside of the home.

2. Pick-up all dog waste.

3. Protect the furniture and bedding with protective covers provided.

4. Please be courteous to our neighbors and do not allow your dog to bark excessively while outside.

5. Do not leave your dog(s) unattended on the deck/porch.

6. Please do not leave your dog inside the house unattended. Please crate your dog(s) when it will be left alone. Even the most well adjusted and well behaved dog can become anxious in an unfamiliar place.

7. Dogs must be housebroken.

A Coconut Hut is an oceanfront rental on Caswell Beach with a private walkway to the sand, its own private heated pool, newly renovated interior including an updated kitchen, and new luxury vinyl flooring throughout the main living areas. With 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, it comfortably sleeps up to 14 guests.

Enjoy breathtaking views from both the front of the house, which surveys the marsh and nearby Oak Island Lighthouse, and the back, which overlooks the ocean-side heated pool, private wooden walkway to the beach and nearby Bald Head Island!

Once inside, you will feel the open and roomy floor plan that allow for a bright and airy flow. Ocean and marsh views can be enjoyed from every bedroom, and bed sizes are 2 Kings, 1 Queen and 4 Doubles. Each of the 3 full bathrooms include a vanity with quartz countertops; 2 have a shower/tub combo and one has a shower stall.

The kitchen is newly renovated and features stainless steel appliances, new cabinets, quartz countertops, backsplash, and seating for 5 at the kitchen island. The large living and dining area boast stunning ocean views and offer ample seating with tables seating up to 14. Located above the living room is a loft/game room furnished with a foosball table, couch and chairs.

On the main floor you will find the kitchen, living room, dining room, one full bathroom, one half bath, one bedroom with 2 Double beds and a second bedroom with a King bed. As you walk up the stairs, you will find the washer and dryer. The upper level has a loft used as a second sitting area/game room, a full bathroom, one bedroom with 2 Double beds, one with a Queen bed and a master suite with a King bed and full bathroom.

A Coconut Hut also offers guests an abundance of features and extras including a fully stocked kitchen with a drip coffee maker, 3 flat screen Smart-TV's, ceiling fans, toys, games, and puzzles as well as beach essentials such as beach chairs, boogie boards, and an outdoor shower. This home truly has it all!

The pool is open year round, however between April 1 - Oct 31 the heater will be on and typically keeps the pool water between 80-84 degrees depending on outside air temperatures and weather. There is no additional cost to heat the pool, but we can not guarantee the pool water temperatures due to the dependency of the weather and air temperatures. Please keep in mind that the heater only runs when the pool pump is running and typically the pump does not run at night due to time schedule.

*Please note, pools will NOT be heated November 1 - March 31*. If you want us to attempt to heat the pool during this time we can for a cost of $75 per day for your entire stay, but once again, we can not guarantee the pool water temperatures due to the dependency of the weather and air temperatures.

The pool and/or spa is private and unattended, so swim at your own risk. All children must be supervised in the water at all times by an adult. No food, drinks, alcohol, glass, etc are allowed in or around the pool. Pools are serviced regularly, however please keep in mind that due to the tropical nature of the island, it is not unusual to find unexpected debris and sand in the pool.

PLEASE READ RULES / NOTES PRIOR TO BOOKING:

If your check in date is on or between Memorial Day and Labor Day, your cleaning fee does include whole house linen and towel rental fee. Linen and towel service includes top and fitted sheets per bed, pillow cases, and 1 set of towels will be provided per person (1 set includes: 1 body towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth), and a kitchen towel.

If your check in date is before Memorial Day or after Labor Day, linens and towels are NOT included in the cleaning fee. We do offer them for an additional fee, or you can choose to bring your own linens and towels, or rent through a third party.

**(Last minute bookings: We need at least 24-hour notice in order to provide linens).

We highly recommend trip insurance and will not give any refunds for weather related trip interruptions or cancellations as well as any other situations that may cause you not be able to travel or use the property.

If you cancel at least 60 days prior to your check in date, you will be refunded in full minus a non-refundable fee of 5% of the total reservation (cancellation fee). Cancellations within 60 days prior to check in will not be refunded.

Due to homeowner severe allergies, some homes may not allow service or support animals. You must disclose and get permission for any service and or support animals PRIOR to booking.

While you paid a cleaning fee, if you leave the home excessively dirty and don't follow check out procedures, an additional cleaning charge may apply that you will be responsible for paying.

Included in your reservation is a security deposit insurance policy that can cover you for accidental damages to the home or contents, however all damages may not be covered and if denied, you will be liable / responsible for paying any damages in their entirety.

You must be at least 26 years old to book and if your group is not related, the average age of all adults (not including children) must be 26 years old or older. We do not allow people to book for other people, the person who makes and pays for the reservation must also stay in the home.

Sorry, NO house parties, prom events, weddings, rehearsal dinners, or any other events of any kind.

NO Smoking inside or on/around the premise (you will be charged a $500 fee if this rule is broken).

NO charcoal grills, fire pits, or deep fryers are permitted on premise.

Please be aware that there are exterior security cameras located on the premises directed towards the parking area and/or entrances for added security and peace of mind.

Please note if there is a fireplace, it is decorative only and not to be used.

We provide a basic starter pack of essentials for your first day including a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, hand soap, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, and a trash can liner per bin.

The neighborhood is peaceful, and waking up to ocean views every morning was a real treat. The house itself is comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay and space was as described. The pool was definitely a highlight and amazing. The pool was closed all week, which was super disappointing since this was a reason for booking condo. This home is a stunning, third-floor condo with three bedrooms and two baths on Caswell Beach at Oak Island. Sorry no elevator. The space has recently been upgraded (2020) with granite countertops in the kitchen and both bathrooms, LVP flooring, new cabinets, and bedding. It features a full kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, and separate laundry room with a washer/dryer. The master bedroom has a king bed and beautiful en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two bunk beds each with a twin mattress on top and full mattress on the bottom. All bedrooms are equipped with TV's. The living room features spectacular views of the ocean, a TV with cable, DVD player, and Netflix. For those who may need to bring the office with you on vacation, we have a convenient folding desk and chair to utilize. High speed internet WIFI is included. To make your stay as stress-free and easy as possible we have included most condiments you would need including coffee and tea.

We know you want to relax without any stops at the store when you get to the island. Beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, kids beach toys, and a beach cart are all provided for your use. For extra enjoyment we have a selection of movies, books, and games available. We are very kid friendly and have a large collection of toys, coloring books and crayons, and items to baby proof for those tiny ones. There is a pack and play available for infants and toddlers as well.

- "The beach house was really nice. We enjoyed the open floor plan layout. Great view of the inter coastal waterway behind us and a short walk across the street to the beach. Loved the closed in back porch with AC. Only issue was that both bathrooms had mold. Thank you!" - "We used this house for additional space for a large family vacation. The back porch room is great, but the stairs to get to the 2nd level are a bit nerve-wracking and getting a large suitcase up there would be hard. - "Great location. Near things but just enough away from commercial district. Wonderful accommodations. Very easy check-in/check-out process. We’ll be back!" - "We knew when we booked that our rental wasn’t going to be an up to date, top notch property. And we were okay with that. We traveled with 40 families members, and 3 houses. This house completely fit our needs. We spend morning til night on the beach, so we prioritize location. And this house has an excellent location! It included all the amenities it listed in the profile. Bathrooms are updated and clean ++. Family room was a little smaller than anticipated but we made it work. Dining room and kitchen were exactly what the pictures show. We are a family who likes game nights so the big table helped. The unit struggled keeping the house cool, typically it was running at 78-80 degrees…and we did everything asked to keep it cool, kept doors shut, set it at 75 degrees. Etc. Not a game changer. Furniture really needs updating. Owners are in the process of replacing boards on the walkout to the beach. There are still some that need to be tended to, however what they’ve done is really nice. LOVE the screened in porch on the back with a lot of rockers. Rained one entire day so we spent most of the day playing games and sitting out back. So nice! Overall, we got what we paid for. We do a lot of research and it’s a fair price for that house. Our family has been going to Caswell for 43 years and, bc of the family growing and needs changing, have never staying in this house. We would stay there again."

Access to the beach is directly across from the main entrance to the subdivision. It's a 9 minute walk from the house or if you're looking to get to the beach a bit faster... take the GOLF CART! It's a 2 minute drive! There is Golf Cart Only Parking at the beach access as well!

Guests will be able to park up to 4 cars in the drive way. If you stack cars on the right side of the driveway, you will be able to easily maneuver the Golf Cart that comes with the home, in and out of the garage.

Feel free to drive the Golf Cart around the neighborhood. It is a life-saver when transporting beach equipment and people back and forth to the beach!

The space
Step into the cozy living room and settle on the curved sectional to watch a movie on the large smart TV or relax in front of the fireplace. Warm wood tones, shades of aqua and pops of tropical orange give off coastal vibes that harmonize with the gorgeous marsh views beyond. Pluck a novel from the mantle and settle in the recliner with your next beach read as you listen to shorebirds call.

The wooden dining table is set for six but can seat up to eight for meals or a friendly game of UNO or Monopoly. Five additional seats are available at the adjacent breakfast bar. The kitchen provides everything you need to cook, whether you’re whipping up a quick afternoon snack or starting off the day with a full breakfast spread, along with plenty of serving and dinnerware.

Each bedroom in the home boasts a TV for personal entertainment, ceiling fans for comfort and the privacy of an en suite bath. The queen bedroom offers a pair of dressers and a wardrobe to ensure there’s plenty of room for your belongings. The attached bath is furnished with a pedestal sink and a step-in tile shower stall with a built-in shower bench. The twin bedroom also provides a dresser for storage, and the shower stall for this bath features a wide door and walk in entry that make it easier to aid younger children. A laundry closet is conveniently located between these bedrooms with a full-sized washer and dryer.

The master suite is located on the upper level with a door at the bottom of the stairs to offer extra privacy. The loft-style room with vaulted ceilings is expansive and furnished with a king bed, where you can wake up to views of the Atlantic via the sliding glass doors that lead to a small balcony. A dressing area provides plenty of space to get ready each day, with a settee, wardrobe, vanity and full-length mirror available. A dining table against the wall means you can sneak a private meal upstairs away from the bustle of the group, and a private seating area allows you to take in stunning views across to Southport from that sunbathed interior or the private deck beyond. The attached master bathroom offers a vanity with his and hers sinks and a large step in shower stall with an antique-style rain showerhead.

The rest of the family has access to amazing outdoor spaces as well! Enjoy your coffee on the covered front porch as you watch the sunlight reflect on the waves or look for porpoises playing in the surf. Dine al fresco on the partially covered back deck as the kids play in the pool below, or just relax and enjoy the sweeping views of the horizon beyond.

The pool area is fully fenced for safety and features both a pool and a spa, as well as classic pool loungers where you can relax and soak in the sun. Pool heating is available upon advance request with an additional fee. A park grill is provided for your family’s bar-b-que master, and you’ll also find a fish-cleaning station that your star angler can put to use. Tucked beneath the stairs is a sheltered outdoor shower with hot and cold water. While not fully enclosed, this convenient rinse off is still private and a welcome aid for washing sand off of babies and fur-babies alike.

When you’re ready to head to the beach, the closest access point is just four houses to the left and across the street. If you need a break from the sun and sand, a variety of adventures await, from exploring the Oak Island Lighthouse that’s practically next door to venturing over the bridge into Southport to explore the seaside town that you can see from your back deck! Or stay on the island and venture into the Oak Island city limits instead, where you’ll find a variety of shops, restaurants, arcades and other activities that you can reach in a short drive of five to ten minutes. We know that however you like to fill the hours of your beach vacation, Lily’s Pad is the jumping off point you’ve been waiting for!

Guests should note that an additional pool heating fee is required for each day a guest requests pool heating. Guest must request the pool heating and pay the fee by calling the OIA office during normal business hours at least 48 hours prior to arrival. Pool heating is only available when temperatures are 55 degrees Fahrenheit and warmer between October 1 and April 30 each year.

Pet-friendly properties accept dogs only. A pet fee of $175 for the first dog should automatically add to the rental amount when you indicate that one or more dogs is included with your reservation. This property pre-approves up to two dogs. If bringing more than one dog, an additional pet fee of $50 plus tax per approved dog will need to be paid after booking and we will reach out to arrange this. If you wish to bring more dogs than this rental pre-approves, you must reach out to our staff prior to booking to see if your additional dogs can be approved by the homeowner. Some property descriptions include owner requested weight limits for dogs - please read the listing in full before booking.

This pool provides the option for heating at certain times of the year for an additional fee of $100/day plus tax. This fee would be paid after booking. If you would like to add heating, please message to alert us and we will reach out to arrange everything with you. We do require at least 48 hours notice to add heating for your stay. Please note that electric pool heaters do not maintain warm water temperatures if the ambient temperature drops below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If you pay for heating that cannot be accommodated due to the weather, we will refund the fee for any affected days.
