Mary Ann's cabin is 1300 square ft. Home located a 'Paved Road' 1/4 mile from the beach front of Lake Lure and 3 miles to Chimney Rock Park. This log cabin has all new appliances including central heat and air.

Master Bedroom Furniture is Low Platform. It has a King-size bed, blanket chest. Master bath features a jacuzzi garden tub and a separate shower stall.

Upstairs loft has a daybed with roll-out bed and sitting room with view of mountainside. Upstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed and night stands and dresser with mirror with adjoining bath with tub/shower.

The cozy downstairs great room has cathedral ceiling with couch, and 2- recliners. This room is adjoining to the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking and dining ware. Leading from the great room, dining and kitchen area is a large deck with patio furniture and rocking chairs.

The deck expands from the front porch and is shaded by a hardwood tree's. This makes it even more pleasurable to spend many hours relaxing and and listening to nature.

The cabin is approximately 40 miles from the Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville. HGTV (Home and Garden Television) chose Lake Lure to build a 'Dream Home' in 2006. September 27, 2024, is a day we will never forget here in WNC. Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc to this area of our mountains. Slowly but surely, we are rebuilding.
Grandma's Cabin was miraculously spared and is now up and running.
We do need to let everyone know that the road conditions are rough in some parts. The town of Chimney Rock is closed to the public while being rebuilt, Despite the devastation there is still so much beauty in this area in the land and people.

We want to be upfront about the status of Lake Lure. In October of 2024, Hurricane Helene left an unprecedented amount of debris, and while cleanup efforts are underway with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the lake has remained closed and will continue to be closed for the rest of 2025.

However, we're pleased to share that the town of Lake Lure has announced its official target date to fully reopen the lake for the 2026 summer season: May 1, 2026. While this timeline isn't guaranteed, we remain optimistic that this goal will be achieved through ongoing restoration efforts.

In the meantime, the magic of Lake Lure extends far beyond the water—breathtaking mountain views, charming local restaurants, award-winning vineyards, scenic hiking trails, championship golf courses at Rumbling Bald, and the world-class Tryon Equestrian Center just 25 minutes away are all ready to welcome you.

As you arrive to this charming lake house, Hickory Hideaway, you will immediately notice the view of Lake Lure and quickly begin to unwind! Lake Lure is special and the views from this house are exceptional. Upon entering the house, you will be taken away by the high-pitched ceilings and exposed beams. To your left is the newly renovated half bath and fully equipped kitchen to gather and prepare your meals. There's a bee/wasp issue on the back deck--which is an ideal location to sit and relax, but not at the risk of being stung [we have a family member with a bee allergy, which makes this more than an annoyance]. Would this keep me from staying again? Not really. It's a beautiful place in a great location. Lots of lovely touches, but it could use a little bit of attention to a few areas."

Hurricane Helene Update: Our cabins are in good shape. Our lakefront and first pond have been damaged and will need to be repaired. The lake has been lowered by the town and there is construction equipment in the lakebed. Romantic cabin on a mountain lake. We are near Chimney Rock, Asheville and The Biltmore House. We are only 1/4 mile from the site where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. We are only 18 miles from the new Tryon International Equestrian Resort. Our cozy one bedroom log cabin is built for couples and has a hot tub. We are located in the Town of Lake Lure and only one mile south of the charming mountain Village of Chimney Rock, NC. For no extra cost we have canoes, horse shoes, private fishing ponds, and a dock on beautiful Lake Lure. All set in a natural landscape with diverse flora and fauna. Plus, only a short distance away you will find the Lake Lure Beach and Marina, Historic Lake Lure Inn, Restaurants, Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure Tour Boats, horseback riding, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, tennis courts, Chimney Rock Village and fly fishing on the Rocky Broad River! Also in Lake Lure you will find two championship golf courses and a municipal nine-hole golf course.

VACATION RENTAL STANDARDS

Maximum Occupancy Limits - The maximum overnight occupancy limit for this home is 6 persons. Designated Parking Area -Vehicles must be parked only in designated areas on the vacation rental property. Parking in the roadway blocking the flow of traffic and parking on neighbor's property without permission are prohibited. Contact your rental's property manager for offsite, overflow parking options. Trash Disposal: All household waste & trash must be placed in receptacles considered to be animal proof (e.g durable with secured lids).

FIRE PROTECTION FOR YOUR SAFETY Fire Extinguisher and Evacuation Plan -This home is equipped with working fire extinguishers and a posted evacuation plan. Removing any of these from their designated location is prohibited. Avoid storing items so as to block hallways, doorways, steps, entrances and exits. Small Outdoor Fires - When an area burning ban is in effect, bonfires are prohibited. Contact your rental home's property manager for information on any burning bans. Outdoor fires are only permitted in a place and manner approved by the Fire Chief.

LAKE ACTIVITIES Swimming: Do not swim farther than 50 feet from shore unless accompanied by an observer in a boat. Fishing : A North Carolina fishing license is required and all state fishing regulations apply. Boating: If a boat is provided with this rental home, please ask for and review the pamphlet entitled “Lake Regulations & Map”. If you wish to utilize your own boat on the lake, a permit is required and can be obtained at Town Hall or at the town marina.

PERSONAL CONDUCT Trespassing - Venturing onto a neighboring dock or pier, boat house or property without the owner's permission is prohibited.

Noise: Unreasonably loud noise is prohibited throughout the Town. Please observe quiet hours after 10 p.m. and be aware that sound carries very far over a still lake.

Unruly Behavior: Behavior deemed disorderly and causing a disturbance to the public is prohibited. These regulations will be strictly enforced.

**Located only 20 minutes from Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) home of World Equestrian Games 2018 (WEG)

*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.

With two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living room with a sleeper sofa, and ample outdoor living space, this cottage offers a luxurious and relaxing vacation home for a party of six. We are just one mile from the Lake Lure public beach. Please note that, due to owner allergies, we cannot allow pets at the cottage.

Upper Level:
The upper level of the cottage consists of a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, deck, and screened-in porch.

Bedroom:
Enjoy a restful night of sleep on a queen-size Siena memory foam mattress. The room has a large closet and is steps away from the upstairs bathroom.

Bathroom:
The bathroom has a large shower stall, storage for toiletries, and many towel hooks.

Kitchen:
The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator with an ice maker, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a glass top range and oven.

In the kitchen, you will find an electric kettle, a Bodum French press, and a traditional 12-cup coffee maker.

The kitchen is stocked with all the essential items to make and serve a lovely meal, and we will keep salt, pepper, and olive oil on hand for your convenience.

Dining:
The dining room has a fantastic view and the table seats six people. In the dining room storage cabinet, you will find puzzles and games to enjoy during your stay.

Screened-in Porch:
The porch is furnished with outdoor rugs, a wicker conversation set, a coffee table, and a ceiling fan.

Deck:
To the left of the porch is the spacious deck. It has a bistro set that seats two in comfy swivel sling chairs. We also have a new infrared electric grill for our guests to use.

Lower Level:
The lower level of the cottage consists of the living room, second bathroom, second bedroom, and flagstone patio.

Living Room:
In the living room, you will find a luxurious West Elm velvet couch, with a memory foam-topped queen mattress. The room also has beautiful leather chairs, a stocked bookshelf, and a Roku TV. The TV has all the major streaming apps available for you to log into on your account.

Bathroom:
Off the living room, you will find the spacious second bathroom. It has a tub and shower combination and a vanity with storage.

Bedroom:
Enjoy a restful night of sleep on a queen-size Siena memory foam mattress. The room has a garment rack, lots of hooks for hanging clothes, luggage rack, and is steps away from the downstairs bathroom.

Patio:
Just off the living room, you will find a spacious flagstone patio with two Adirondack chairs, a bench, and a fire pit.
The entire home is yours to enjoy. There are no shared spaces. At this time, the steep backyard is off-limits to guests.

Please be aware that bears are present in the area. Take care not to leave food or wrappers outside the cottage.

Our 4 cabins are located on a hill overlooking the famous Flowering Bridge of Lake Lure. The property features a large gazebo for entertaining with grills, heaters, firepits, and games. It's the perfect property compound for your family reunion, wedding parties, or gathering with friends.
4 or less people strictly enforced, and NO PETS in this cabin. Please note, there is no washer/dryer. If you do need laundry done, with a 24-hour notice and a laundry charge our management team can accommodate. Must be at least one adult 25 years or older to rent this cabin. If you are looking for a relaxing waterfront and lakefront getaway, Lake Lure is the perfect place! This Is a 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin style lake house on the water! We also have a brand new queen sleeper sofa for additional 2 people. It is 3 miles from Chimney Rock which if great for hiking. Wake up to incredible views from the deck and from the inside of the cabin while drinking your coffee. Relax on the deck with a drink in the evenings while watching the boats drive by. During the day you can fish, kayak, canoe ,swim or just lounge by the water reading a great book! This property comes with one adult kayak, two kids kayaks, a canoe and fishing poles.

LOCATION and VIEWS. Creek Waters all seasons cabin is one of three cabins beautifully perched on a hill and within walking distance to Chimney Rock Village, the Flowering Bridge, and Lake Lure. This very spacious 2 bedroom cabin with large loft area and 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 7 comfortably. The living and kitchen space are combined but the huge screened porch extends the living and dining areas to the outside. It is a luxury cabin perfectly set up for a large family or traveling couples with kids.
Creek Waters features a master bedroom with a custom-built king bed with a super comfy memory-foam style mattress. The on-suite bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, shower and double sinks. There’s a walk-in closet with plenty of space to unpack and organize your belongings. This large bedroom also has a TV and nice bed-side lighting. The other large bedroom has a custom queen bed with a memory foam style mattress, plenty of closet space, a smart TV, and view out onto the screen porch to watch the sunrise. This bedroom has a bathroom next to it with a tub/shower combo.
The loft is an adorable space for youngsters. It is accessible by a ladder and the ceiling height is 5’8” so it’s not an adult-friendly space which makes it perfect for the kiddos to getaway from the adults and have their own fort in the cabin. There are two twin beds and a third twin sleeper lounger in the loft. It’s decorated like a fort with mini lights, curtains, games, and nooks for reading a book.
The centralized living area and eat-in kitchen are small but mighty. The living area features a stone gas-log fireplace with seating and even a vintage record player with records to choose from. It’s kind of fun to watch kids try to figure out how to play the records and get it on the correct speed. There’s a new smart TV on the mantle which can be seen from the loft and the kitchen. The kitchen area has custom cabinetry, pantry area, dishwasher, and is fully stocked for everything you need to cook in the cabin.
The highlight of Creek Waters cabin is the enormous screened porch that stretches the length of the house and overlooks a beautiful sunrise. The mornings are usually warm on the porch with the sun beaming in so take in the sunrise and enjoy a cup of coffee. If you aren’t a morning person, there’s plenty of room for everyone to relax, play games, or dine outside on this screened porch.
Other conveniences is the grill is located on the other large porch and not a far distance from the kitchen. A stacked washer and dryer round out this space with entry storage closet so you can easily launder when on a lengthier stay.
Four Seasons properties consists of 3 log cabins. Each cabin has its own gas grill for easy and private meal prep. The cabins share a parking lot and all the properties share an amazing outdoor space with a centralized gazebo down a staircase which is full of seating, games, lighting, and additional grills - gas and charcoal. There’s a path leading to a large firepit area with seating, so bring on the s’mores and create some memories here in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock!

Guests drive through a quiet neighborhood to a half circle driveway with two-space parking provided right outside the front of the cabin. Enter from the deck overlooking the mountains. The front entrance opens to a open-living layout with a kitchen area and living room, including a wood burning fireplace. There are vaulted ceilings that grant a spacious but cozy feel. The kitchen includes a stove/oven, coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator and dishwasher. All the utensils, pots and pans are provided. There is a master bedroom with a king sized bed, with plush linens, located on the second level. There is plenty of space for making yourself feel at home with a dresser and closet. The second bedroom is located downstairs with a full sized bed. There is one bathroom, located on the first floor. A loft overlooks the fireplace and living room; it is a great space to curl up and read or if you must, catch up on some work. There is a washer and dryer as well. The bathroom includes a tub-shower with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hair dryer provided.

You may wish to bring a few Dura-Flame logs for the fireplace. There is no cut wood on the property. Pieces of wood and Duraflame logs are for sale at the local Ingles grocery store.

Hurricane Helene Update: Our cabins are in good shape. Our lakefront and first pond have been damaged and will need to be repaired. The lake has been lowered by the town and there is construction equipment in the lakebed. Raven's Roost Cabin has two bedrooms and sleeps four. It has a screened porch, full kitchen and bath, and washer and dryer. It is pet friendly. It was built by Jim's father in 1965. Ravens Roost looks at a large field. Jim was once a rock and ice climber and we have decorated Raven's Roost with some of his old climbing equipment. We are near Chimney Rock, Asheville and The Biltmore House. All our Lake Lure, NC cabins are great for anniversaries, honeymoons, birthdays, or any special occasion. Pine Gables offers canoes, horse shoes, private fishing ponds, and a dock on beautiful Lake Lure. All set in a natural landscape with diverse flora and fauna. Plus, only a short distance away you will find the Lake Lure Beach and Marina, Historic Lake Lure Inn, Restaurants, Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure Tour Boats, horseback riding, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, tennis courts, Chimney Rock Village and fly fishing on the Rocky Broad River! Also in Lake Lure you will find two championship golf courses and a municipal nine-hole golf course.
In less than an hour from Pine Gables Cabins you can drive to the historic towns of Rutherfordton, Brevard, Columbus, Tryon, Saluda, Hendersonville, Asheville and the Biltmore House. Its also a short drive to the Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We’re so happy to be back to hosting at our sweet little spot! Stay in an original 1920’s, newly renovated log cabin, located in the first established community of Chimney Rock. Nestled in between Chimney Rock Village/State Park and Lake Lure, you're just a quick walk (under a mile) to each. See views of Chimney Rock from your yard, equipped with a level gravel fire pit area, deck off of the master bedroom, level parking (room for 2-3 vehicles), as well as spaces for motorcycles, if needed.

The cabin sleeps up to four people comfortably, with a queen size memory foam mattress in the master and a twin bed with rollout twin trundle bed, both with memory foam mattresses in the guest room. We provide a fully equipped kitchen including a Kuerig coffee machine and drip coffee pot, keyless entry, a flatscreen TV in the living room with Netflix/Hulu, an Alexa for music playing and information, as well as books and games for those evenings or rainy days that you want to just stay in and relax. This studio cabin offers a great mountain view from a private deck. It is set up for a couple and is the first built Sweet Heart cottage with Double Jacuzzi and seasonal propane fireplace.

Located high on the hillside and up a couple of steps this studio cabin offers a private deck view of Chimney Rock Park. You are 0.6 miles from the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park, 23 miles from Asheville with Hendersonville only 16 miles away. Asheville regional airport is 26 miles away. It is a 26 mile drive to the historic Biltmore Estate. The Tryon International Equestrian Center is 20 miles away.

Welcome to the cutest cottage at Lake Lure! This 1940's gem has been lovingly maintained, keeping all of its character but with today's functionality. From the smart TVs to the central air to the renovated kitchen, you'll be charmed from the moment you arrive.

In the living room you'll find a beautiful stone hearth, comfy seating for everyone in your party, and a bookshelf full of vacation reads and games for the whole family. The smart TV has Spectrum cable, and you can also log in to your preferred streaming services.

The master bedroom has a comfy king-sized bed, and a brand new closet / vanity area with plenty of space for your belongings. The smart TV has Spectrum cable and available streaming services.

In the queen room, you'll find another comfy bed, nightstands to hold all your odds and ends, and another smart TV with Spectrum cable and streaming services. Best of all is the spectacular view of Chimney Rock from the large windows.

The third bedroom has a single daybed for day dreaming or night sleeping. Special touches like the vintage garden bench side table and vintage life jacket decor make this an adorable and cozy space.

The bathroom has been fully renovated and is cute as a button. We have included some extras such as shower gel, a first aid kit and a hairdryer. There are custom shelves built in to all the nooks and crannies to maximize the storage of this small but mighty space.

We have stocked the kitchen with everything you could wish for and more - crockpot? check! blender? check! salad spinner? check! lemon squeezer? check! Feel free to use any dry goods and condiments you find in the pantry and fridge, and leave behind any that you want to share with future guests when you depart. You've got a super cute vintage dining set at which to enjoy your meals, or you can choose to dine al fresco at the table on the back deck.

Attached to the kitchen is the laundry area, with a full-sized washer and dryer. In the utility closet you'll cleaning and laundry supplies. It won't hurt our feelings if you want to do a little extra dusting while you're there.

Head out the back door to the covered deck to enjoy some fresh air, grill up some burgers, and stare at Chimney Rock while you contemplate life. One of our favorite things about this home is watching the mountain throughout the day and how it changes as the sun travels across the sky. It is just as beautiful on sunny days as it is on rainy days. And sometimes, it's so foggy you can't even tell there is a mountain there at all! The Chimney Rock flag is a constant sentinel, and at night you can see the lights of the cars zig-zagging down the switchbacks of the park's access road.

Outdoorsy type stuff, including firewood, is found under the back deck in the graveled area there.

This home is walking distance to all that downtown Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village have to offer. (**Please note that Chimney Rock State Park is not accessible on foot**) We are super close to Morse Park, the marina, and the swimming beach all within a mile. Or you can head up the hill and be in Chimney Rock Village within a half mile.

You will also be just a couple minutes' drive to a great hiking spot at the Chimney Rock Rumbling Bald Climbing Access park. This part of the Chimney Rock park system has no admission fee, and the 1.5 mile nature loop includes views of Lake Lure, a creek for salamander hunting, and lots of boulders strewn about for climbing and scrambling.

We have plenty of parking in our paved driveway for up to 4 cars. You'll have to navigate a small set of stairs to get from the parking area to the front porch. Once you're in the house, you're all on one level unless you choose to go down the back staircase into the yard. If you can't manage a full set of stairs, you can go out the front door where there is only one step and follow the gravel path to get to the back yard. If the little spruce tree on the chimney side of the house looks thirsty, feel free to give it a drink using the hose under the house. That little guy was just planted in 2023, and we want it to grow big and strong.

Our neighbors are all super nice, but we ask that you abide by our quiet hours of 10pm - 9am.

The space
When you arrive at the home, please note the driveway is paved, but a little steep. All cars can get up the driveway, just be confident in gaining a little momentum at the bottom to get you up smoothly. There is enough room for 2-3 cars to park comfortably.

There are about 10 steps to get to the front door. Keys are in a lock box to the right of the door. You will walk into a cozy living room that connects to a spacious dining room with a table to fit 6 guests around. A slight ( watch your step ) step down into the fully stocked kitchen which has a full size refrigerator, oven, microwave, keurig coffee maker and a full size washer and dryer. Off from the kitchen is a large screened in porch for your enjoyment.

The two bedrooms sit side by side. One has a king size bed, the other, a queen. A full size bathroom ,with walk in shower, is conveniently located close to the bedrooms. There is a side door off of the queen size bedroom that leads out to a rock patio and small fire pit.

Blue Skies is a 700-sf cabin located a short walk or drive to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village. The super clean cabin accommodates 2-4 people comfortably, and includes a huge, screened porch which is the perfect space for enjoying the mountain air.

The space
This log cabin is ideally located in the heart of Chimney Rock with mountain views and Lake Lure, and easy access to all the activities and businesses in the Hickory Nut Gorge area of North Carolina. Blue Skies is a 700sf log cabin perched on a small hillside, and only a short walk to fabulous Lake Lure Beach and Chimney Rock Village (1/4 mile). With paved parking and super easy access to the single-story floor plan, this quaint two-bedroom two-bathroom cabin will charm and delight you with its mountain and sunrise views. The cabin accommodates 2-4 people and includes a huge screen porch to protect you from the elements and critters – the perfect space to enjoy coffee in the morning sun or to just hang out and have some cocktails, enjoy dinner, or relax on the porch listening to the birds sing.

The main bedroom has a super comfy queen-size bed with a closet area and plenty of space to unpack and organize your travels. There’s cable TV and Wifi for streaming on the smart devices. Also, very important, is a full-length mirror located in this bedroom, and views out the window of Chimney Rock and the woods. The main bathroom features a jetted tub for two which is perfect for soothing away a long hike or a day on the lake. It also has a shower and plenty of storage for your essentials.

The second bedroom features a trundle bed with two twin beds -- both with new comfy memory-foam mattresses. Put the two twins together, and you have a king-size bed. There's an on-suite bathroom and shower attached to this bedroom with plenty of storage to organize and unpack your suitcase and hang your belongings. Close the pocket door and enjoy reading a book from a bedside table or watch your favorite program on the smart TV or DVD player.

The living, dining, and kitchen areas are a combined space with all the amenities to make your rustic log cabin adventures authentic. The kitchen has basic appliances plus a microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, and plenty of cooking utensils and supplies. It’s a small space packed with everything you need to enjoy cabin life, but the real enjoyment is the large, screened porch which extends off of the living room. There’s plenty of seating and dining space on this huge porch so why sit inside when you can enjoy sitting outside playing games, putting together a puzzle, watching the wildlife, listening to the birds, and viewing the natural scenery -- it is truly outdoor living at its best! Also, a screened in porch means no bugs and critters, which extends the outdoor enjoyment.

The single-level living space and easy paved parking area make this a convenient mountain escape. Both bedrooms have an attached bathroom and the mattresses and furniture are all new and comfy. There are 3 smart TVs in this house with DVD players and provided DVDs and games.

There's a gas grill just outside the main entrance with a covered porch and seating for relaxing while grilling.

Outside and down a set of steps, is a shared entertaining space at the giant gazebo where your family and friends can gather to play games or grill out with a gas or charcoal grill. There's also a huge firepit area to relax and maybe make s'mores – whatever your desire, there’s plenty of outdoor space for all.

Welcome to Camp Hideaway in Chimney Rock!


Rustic charm and your own creek and waterfall await you and your guests. This two-story house is located up a long driveway and surrounded by trees. Have your coffee on the large deck overlooking the creek and waterfall, where you will likely see wild turkey, deer, a fox and maybe a bear. This is a beautiful, peaceful place for the whole family. Sleeps 8.

The space
The lodge is rustic, but provides for all your basic needs. Built on boulders, the house is truly unique. The house is surrounded on all sides with beautiful forest, mostly untouched and part of the State Park.

The primary bedroom features a queen-sized bed. This bedroom has its own half bath, and entry directly onto the wraparound porch. The bedroom is separated from the main floor by a short staircase. There is no door on the room, but blackout curtains offer privacy.

Upstairs bunk house (up a narrow circular staircase) features 4 twin beds. The room has its own half-bath and 32 inch smart TV and air conditioner.

Two twin size antique captain’s beds fold out in the living room for additional guests.

One full bathroom with shower is on the main floor. Two half-baths are found in the primary bedroom and in the upstairs bunk room.

The open-concept living room and galley kitchen have plenty of seating for all. Basic kitchen has essentials including appliances, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. The adjacent dining room has a small table next to the built-in boulder and huge windows to enjoy the scenery while dining. The wraparound porch with weber grill and blackstone griddle makes cooking and dining outside a treat.

43 inch smart TV in main living room, and 32 inch smart TV upstairs. Air conditioning throughout house with individualized controls for each main room. WiFi throughout. Limited cell reception in this area and neighborhood. Make sure you enable WiFi calling, or take the opportunity to go off the grid!

Sit on the patio and enjoy the sounds of the bold creek right beside the house. Splash around in it if you wish! It's a private space.

Outside has covered parking and a campfire pit.

Guest access
You and your guests have full and private access to the entire home, including the creek. Access to the creek is down stone steps from the side deck. The only areas off limits are: the blue shed and wooded areas behind the house and beyond the creek.

Other things to note
The route to the house is over a one-lane bridge with an 11 foot height restriction. The bridge crosses the Broad River, a gorgeous rocky river - enjoy the view!

The driveway is a sharp turn uphill.

Please note:
We are dog friendly! Bring your pup, but make sure they have flea and tick control! We expect all 4-legged guests to be well behaved and potty trained. Dogs cannot be left unattended in the house at any time during your stay. There is a $50 pet fee for one dog and $75 for 2 dogs. The pet fee will be sent as a separate request after your booking is confirmed.

Watch the sun go down while sitting in the hot tub or while grilling on the upper deck. Then retreat down to the fenced in yard and make smores while sitting around the fire pit.

While Hurricane Helene shifted the landscape of our sweet village, we are seeing significant progress each day in the town's rebuild. The cabin has no damage.

The space
The cabin is a well appointed 450 sq ft space that has everything you could need; whether you're using the cabin as a home base for your adventures and exploring, or if you plan to cozy up and stay put.

THE DECK

The deck, y'all. Rain or shine, this is the place to be. Our guests geek OUT about the covered deck, and here's why:
As you walk up the stairs to the upper deck, you are greeted with the breathtaking, direct view of Chimney Rock State Park, including a 400+ ft waterfall. It's so close, too! You'll feel like you are a stone's throw away (and depending on your arm, you might be!) As we are perched directly above Chimney Rock Village, you will also notice the sound of the Broad River that runs alongside the village.

The magic doesn't stop there. There is a small waterfall adjacent to the cabin, so you will often be able to see (winter views) and hear it as well.

The cabin is surrounded by evergreen pines and oaks, so there is a private, secluded feeling to the cabin. You get the best of both worlds - privacy and close proximity to restaurants and shops.

Cozy up on the outdoor couch, or on the porch swing.

Enjoy dinner al fresco at the high top table, and watch the sun go down behind the mountain.

BEDROOM

Sunlight shines in on three side through large windows and glass sliding doors that provide a direct view of Chimney Rock State Park. Enjoy gazing at the waterfall from the super plush king sized bed, made up with luxury linens. A smart tv is mounted on the wall and has access to your streaming accounts, as well as complimentary Youtube TV.

BATHROOM

The full bathroom has a walk in shower and excellent water pressure. Paraben free Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.

KITCHEN

This sweet little kitchen is fully stocked so you can really throw down some impressive culinary masterpieces here! Let's say you've been fully enjoying using the outdoor grill the past couple nights and want to switch it up. Easy! We have pots, pans, casserole dishes, baking sheets, a stove, microwave, George Foreman grill (great for some killer paninis), a ninja blender, flour, spices, oil....you name it!

LIVING ROOM

Cozy up on the super comfy leather couch and pick your view! Look straight ahead, you've got a large smart tv to watch your favorite streaming apps. Look left, you've got a pretty sweet view of the mountains and waterfall. There's a conveniently positioned reading lamp as well, so that you can enjoy a great book, or reading through our detailed guidebook that is filled with suggestions of fun things to do during your visit!

THE FIREPIT

Enjoy a fire using a complimentary bundle of firewood and smores kit. Sit back in the Adirondack chairs and gaze up at the star studded night sky. On a clear night you can easily lose count of all the shooting stars you might see.

Driving: Currently the only way to access Chimney Rock Village is coming from Lake Lure. Please plan your travel using that route.

The Cabin: The front door is located up the stairs at the end of the deck. There is a walkout basement area downstairs, but it is used for storage and supplies, so guests will not have access. The key pad code will be given the day before your stay.

The upper level of our cottage features a gourmet kitchen, dining area and family room with upscale furnishings and a wood burning stone fireplace. The rear deck has comfortable seating and a double hammock with fabulous waterfall views!

The lower level has 2 additional bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen, a full bath with tub and an additional family room with large screen tv and a bar with a beverage frig. The back patio features a new hot tub with stereo, hammock swing and fire pit. Large Fenced yard for your furry family member to play in.

The cabin was built out of 100+ year old reclaimed materials with 15 foot vaulted ceilings on the main floor. With poplar bark walls, incredible lighting hand cut slate floors your stay is guaranteed to be enchanting. Sit in the hot tub and look at a waterfall while listening to another waterfall behind you and river below you.

Our place sit’s on 6 acres and is beautifully designed so that you can fully experience the mountains during your stay. This very unique and hand crafted cabin consists of all reclaimed materials with a slate roof, hand cut slate floors, barnboard and popular bark walls and windows galore. We think that the lighting is truly special with over 50 mini spotlights in the ceiling all on dimmers that can make the cabin feel very enchanting. It truly is so beautiful sitting on the back deck or in the hot tub and looking directly at the Hickory Nut Falls
(300ft waterfall) or Chimney Rock or even up the gorge at Blue Rock. With 500 acres of Park land behind our house with hiking trails and 2 waterfalls that are only accessible from this property you’re guaranteed an amazing private experience!This is truly a destination location. Rainbow Falls, which is about a 35 minute hike up the mountain, is only accessible from our property. It’s a 100 foot waterfall that you will have completely to yourselves! Plus, only an eight minute hike from the cabin is yet another private waterfall 35 ft tall that is absolutely gorgeous!
We rarely want to leave but if you do want to check out the local area, we’re only 15 miles from Hendersonville and 25 miles from Asheville and Black Mountain We love those areas too and are happy to make some great recommendations for your stay. We are also located in the center of 6 wonderful wineries only 15-25 minutes away in both the Hendersonville and Rutherfordton areas.

All wheel drive cars are never an issue getting up our gravel driveway. Some people feel comfortable using a front wheel drive car to access the cabin. Some don’t. That’s why we always have the Jeep Wrangler for our guests that would like to use it to get up and down the driveway.

Our property is located in a gated community. We will give you gate entry codes upon booking and completing the reservation. We do want our guest to know that you have the entire Ranger Retreat guesthouse to yourselves. We are sometimes on the property finishing the build of our main house located above this guest house. We do all that we can to ensure your privacy.
Some feel comfortable with driving a front wheel drive car up our driveway and some don’t. All wheel drives have no problem at all. But We always have a two-door Jeep Wrangler automatic that’s super simple to drive for our guest to use if they should so desire. 👍🏻

We’ve lived in this area for 30+ years so we know a lot of the best places, hikes, restaurants, breweries, wineries, and activities to do in and around Western North Carolina. The front porch offers a direct view of Chimney Rock, the iconic feature of Chimney Rock State Park. The chimney was featured in Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine, and the park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country's 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains.

LAKE LURE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR RECREATIONAL BOATING, FISHING, OR SWIMMING IN THE 2025 SEASON. Although the lake is closed and lowered while Hurricane Helene cleanup continues, there is much that our beautiful foothills area has to offer. LAKE ADGER, LAKE LANIER, SHUMONT LAKE, and MIRROR LAKE suffered no damage, so homes and those lakes are available. BALD MOUNTAIN LAKE in the resort is open and beautiful. We are welcoming guests in over 60 beautiful homes to use as a "home base" for visiting nearby towns, restaurants, shops, hiking areas, and seasonal special events in Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain, Saluda, and Tryon. Golf is open to the public at Rumbling Bald, and local area wineries, breweries, trails, and music are within an hour's drive. Many of the Chimney Rock shops are set up at the Tryon International Equestrian Center Pavilion. Chimney Rock Park is now open!

This home is 2/10 miles from Chimney Rock State Park, 1.7 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, and 20.1 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

The entrance to the park is just two blocks from this home. The restaurants and quaint shops of Chimney Rock Village are just around the block. You can even hear the sounds of the picturesque, trout-filled Rocky Broad at the home. There are plenty of places to fish at the river and a boardwalk to enjoy the beauty.

If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Chimney Rock Village on the scenic and curvy Alt US-74 (Memorial Highway). This stretch of highway in the Hickory Nut Gorge has 14 hairpin turns and runs through Bat Cave, Gerton, and Fairview. Continue toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. It will add to your bucket list if you have not traveled any stretch of this road. Actor Norman Reedus of The Boondock Saints and The Walking Dead featured the parkway on a 2016 episode of his AMC TV series Ride with Norman (Appalachia: Blue Ridge Parkway, Season 1, Episode 3). Just 1.25 hours from home and five miles off the parkway is Maggie Valley, home to the Wheels Through Time transportation museum that features rare American motorcycles, memorabilia, and a distinct array of unique one-off American automobiles.

This home also boasts a small attached garage. The garage, along with paved roads in the area, proximity to the curves of Memorial Highway, and the beauty of Blue Ridge Parkway make this home perfect for those riding motorcycles.

If you are looking for a more laid-back retreat, we are only minutes away from the quaint riverside village with shopping, galleries, restaurants, and bars.

Located less than 10 minutes from Lake Lure beach/marina and 40 minutes to Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain and Catawba Falls. It is easy to visit one of the many local apple orchards, breweries, or vineyards. Chimney Rock State Park is less than a mile away, with numerous other great hiking trails in the area.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS:
- There is a large population of active wildlife in the area, including bears, coyotes, and bobcats. Do not leave any trash, food or empty cans outside of the house or in your vehicle. For your safety, do not leave the windows or doors open/ajar without supervision to prevent wild animal entry.
- Ticks, mosquitos, lizards, snakes, insects and other pests may be found on the property at any time of year, as the neighborhood is surrounded by 500+ acres of State Park – all guests are expected to take necessary steps of precaution. We recommend that those with insect/reptile phobias choose an accommodation in town where nature does not encroach.
- Children and infants must be under active supervision by a parent or guardian at all times. All responsibility and duty of care for them must be provided by you, including child safety equipment.
- House is located on a steep mountain cliffside with very soft sediment and sudden drop-offs. Guests are prohibited from venturing beyond the patio/deck areas.
- Recording Exterior Video Surveillance (Nest/Blink) cameras are located at the front door and driveway. Footage remains private, but may be used for liability reasons and to monitor occupancy and other policies per Airbnb guidelines. To disable or obstruct the cameras is prohibited.

PET POLICY:
Unapproved pets on the property are not permitted at any time and will result in a $500 fee per pet and cancellation of your reservation without refund.
