Access to the loft is by ladder.
Sleep cozy among the trees in this authentic treehouse while listening to the sounds of the waterfall below. Enjoy hiking on our 33 private acers adjacent to the Cherokee national Forest or relaxing in the hot tub on the deck below.

The space
This 330 sq. ft. treehouse has a loft, main level and a deck beneath. The loft features a king size bed a 32" Roku TV (Netflix and wi-fi included). The main level includes a living area with a queen size pull-out bed, kitchen with an apartment-size refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, and a single burner cooktop. Just a few things to know to make your stay better:

The drinking water is delicious! We have a 500 ft deep spring well, the water is pure (better than bottled).

There is a trail to the waterfall that is accessed off the driveway by the "waterfall" sign. The trail is a combination of stair steps, platforms, and natural trail. This section is rocky and may be muddy so wear sturdy shoes.

Please, if exploring the property, keep your eye out for poison ivy. There is an area where we have a no trespassing sign (we call this poison valley)

The deck can be slippery when wet.

There is a trash box in the parking area. It is very important to re-attach the latches after placing your trash in the box to keep the bears out.

The treehouse has no curtains or sheer curtains we have left eye mask for you to use if the light bothers you.

Please rinse off before using the hot tub.

Next to the trash can in the treehouse is a bin for recycling, join us in staying green! Please rinse and place all can's, glass, cardboard and plastic in this bin.

Please use hot pads if placing any hot or warm dishes on all surfaces.

The single burner hot plate is induction. You will need to place your pan on the surface before you turn the burner on.

The hot tub towels (aqua blue) are located in the desk/ dresser under the window in the 2nd drawer.

This is a small space. The air conditioner works really well, if you are leaving the property for a few hours please turn off the air conditioner. Please don't run the A.C. with the windows open.

If using the outdoor shower (hot is cold- cold is hot) the handle is backwards.

If something breaks, if you run out of toilet paper or paper towels, liners etc. Please let us know so we can fix or replace it immediately.

If you need towels for a day trip, please don't take the treehouse towels. We are happy to bring you some beach towels, just let us know.

Do not lock the bottom lock on the front door. (You will lock yourself out)

Please turn off all outside lights when not in use.

- "This was an amazing adventure for me and my girlfriend! We stayed here as a birthday getaway so I could force myself to disconnect from work and other things. The lack of cell service for sure helped with that. With that in mind! Save you gate code and dont rely on your email. Write it down or screen shot it or else you're going to have quite the hike ahead of you. Haha I learned the hard way so you dont have to! The hosts of the property put a lot of love and care into this place and it shows! They pay attention to the finer details and thats something I appreciate dearly. Upon entering the treehouse there was a cute little birthday banner and 2 little cupcakes in glass domes sitting on the counter. It made everything feel very storybook and I couldnt have been happier with this experience. To conclude this rather long review, if you want to feel like you're staying in a storybook, or one of those a!r-bnb commercials with the little 3D house then THIS is the place! Thats the best way I can describe it, OH! Or like you're on a Wes Anderson set/movie! The guy who directed Fantastic Mr. Fox. This adventure isn't for everyone though, it feels like this is designed perfectly for the right type of adventurous person. So do keep that in mind!"

Fantastic "Black Bear Cabin" In Lynn Valley
Cabin
Elizabethton, Tennessee, USA

Hundreds of 5 star reviews tell the story. The possibilities are endless in this fully furnished rustic and unique log cabin. You'll never find another cabin with unique features like this one has in East Tennessee. The cabin is less than 5 miles from everything but also has a country charm and feel. Its located in the beautiful Lynn Valley area of Elizabethton TN, a highly sought after area that the Watauga River flows through. Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch looking out at the peaceful pond right out front. The two pond fountains sound amazing and add tranquility. This one bedroom one bath cabin has been meticulously maintained and is always meticulously cleaned and rental ready. 5 Blocks from the Watauga River, some of the best trout fishing in the entire country is feet away. Wireless internet, Samsung 75" Ultra 4k UHDTV with surround sound, 42" HDTV in master bedroom, excellent cell service (AT&T), outdoor fire pit/ grill combo and a Charbroil electric grill. The futon in the den will sleep two more (double bed), master bedroom sleeps two (King). Dish Network satellite HDTV service with more than 200 channels to chose from.

Update: 8/3/2023 The cabin was just re-stained, as well as the wood around the pond, 15 green giants were added, 30 led landscape lights, and landscaping timbers, as well as the fire pit.

We updated the entire cabin in 2022 with all new leather furniture in the den. We used a local interior designer to give the cabin a complete makeover. The leather couch has two recliners, plus there is a single leather recliner. All of the ceiling fans and outdoor light fixtures are brand new. The bedroom was updated with new flooring, paint, new king size bedroom suit and decor. We added a 24,000 BTU HVAC mini split system for heat and air, which is very quiet and comfortable. The mantle is an amazing piece of artwork that looks like museum. We also installed a 5 x 10 dog kennel behind the cabin with a dog house. We added landscape lighting around the cabin as well as solar lighting around the pond. It is amazing at night! The cabin features unique trophy heads including a Moose, Red Stag, Deer, Antelope, Turkey and Fish. The trophies were shot by William Crawford who built the cabin in 2005.

Its an incredible location at the base of a mountain, and it faces another mountain. There are no cabins next to you or behind you, and a huge field for dogs to play in. The cabin has a brand new metal roof and was just re-stained. The pond gets water from a newly installed solar pump and the pond fountain is also powered by solar energy. The pond was completely rebuilt in the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022, with a brand new liner and new wood all the way around, stained to match the cabin. The old fences seen in some photos have been removed and soon green giant trees will be planted along the roadway. Please don't throw trash or any debris into the pond. The best fishing is 1000 feet away on the Watauga River. You can park at Riverside Baptist church and fish the river anytime except during church hours.

I'm a believer now. I suggest you arrive before dark. The route driving up the mountain is not very long, but becoming familiar with it is challenging, especially in the dark." - "Very clean and Bobby was an excellent hostess. - "We had a wonderful stay at this house. The house is decorated in modern farmhouse style, with different themed rooms which are a lot of fun. Everything was immaculately clean. The furnishings are all new or beautifully restored. AC worked well, nice and cool especially in the basement. There is a screened porch off the back of the house which is great for sipping morning coffee and watching wildlife in the woods out back. Also enjoyed the rocking chair and swing on the front porch. We made several meals in the house; the kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cooking tools. There are also many local favorite restaurants like good BBQ within a short driving distance. Also a short distance to the Laurels picnic area, a local favorite. We had a lot of fun playing the lawn darts game and ladder toss. Wifi and TVs worked well with Roku and cable service. Overall excellent and would love to stay again!"

🔴Totally safe for solo travelers! We look out for the safety of all who stay with us!

Please read the entire ad for house rules and directions.😊

🔴Because of my lung diseases, we do not allow any animals whatsoever. I have a medical exemption for this reason.

We do not provide body soap, shampoo, nor conditioner. We only provide hand soap.

Please check your messages in the app before your arrival. We change the key box codes every once in a while. I will send you a message in the app of any new codes. Thank you 😊

🌟🌟We just installed a new heat/air system. It works by the white remote hanging by the bathroom door. The unit itself is hung at the ceiling by the clothes rack. It is very quiet. 😊
The snowflake on the remote means the air conditioner is on.
The sun symbol means the heat is on.
Please be sure you don’t accidentally set the timer on the remote. If you do, the heat/air will turn on/off at that set time.

There are two settings for the fan in the unit…low and high. Be careful not to set the timer on the unit.

‼️To make it a true getaway, there is no tv nor wifi at the cabin. The best cell service is Verizon.‼️(if you need wifi, you can walk to the playground and access the “cottage” wifi. The password is Cottage115) or on the outdoor stage and connect to “loft”. The password is Loft2005.

‼️If you’d like to build a fire in the fire pit, there are bundles of firewood in the outhouse on the upper side of the big barn. There’s a box inside for you to put the money in for the wood. It is $5 per bundle. Please do not get wood from the woodshed. We use that to heat our home in the winter.
🔴 Before building a campfire, please check for area “burn bans” through the Forestry Service.

🌟🌟🌟There is a set of chairs in bags inside the closet door on the back of the cabin. Please return them to their bags and in the closet (dry) after each use.

Usually it subsides earlier because their time in the barn ends at 11pm, so they usually begin cleanup way before then. ❤️DONKEY THERAPY IS FREE❤️
The Legend of The Donkey...
Our Lord Jesus called for a young colt donkey to be brought to Him to ride through the streets. The donkey loved the Lord so much that when Jesus was taken to Galgotha, it followed Him there. As our Lord Jesus was crucified, the little donkey stood to the side and watched its loving Master’s torture. As Jesus took His last breath, the little donkey couldn’t stand to see Him die, so it turned to walk away and there the shadow of the cross lay on the little donkeys back and has been there ever since. The one way to tell a true donkey is that the cross is still there on it’s back.
Thank you God for sending Your only Son to die for me! Praise God!🙌🏻
(The donkeys will love all over you and the gray ones love hugs around their necks!)

I don’t take just sandwiches! Cold bottled water is included!)
(October excursions are limited to specific days.)(Tips are much appreciated!)

🌟🌟🌟🌟NEW🌟🌟🌟🌟
🌟🌟BIKE THE HISTORIC TWEETSIE RAILROAD TRAIL🌟🌟There is a bike rental company in Elizabethton on this end of the trail and one in Johnson City where you can rent bikes to ride the historic Tweetsie Trail. You’ll have to look up the history on it. It was once a vital piece of our town.
There’s beautiful scenery and lots of interesting places to stop along the way and explore. There are even restaurants along the way to eat at. We are only 2.3 miles from the trailhead here in Elizabethton! The entire trail is approximately 17 miles!

🌟🌟🌟🌟Please understand that this is a working farm. You will see bees here. They are not in over abundance. We keep nests torn down and we spray the cabin, cottage and the barn. Bees are supposed to be here. They pollinate our crops. If they’re we’re no bees, we’d have no fruits or vegetables. You will see bees, but they’re not aggressive unless you mess with them. If you are from a city, you probably aren’t used to seeing bees. You will see them here.

🌟🌟🌟🌟NEW🌟🌟🌟🌟
🌟🌟PAINTING CLASSES🌟🌟
By my instruction, you will create a beautiful piece of art, worthy of hanging!! I provide all the materials for your experience. Paintings will be based on seasonal and farm items and backgrounds. We might be painting a donkey, a horse, a peacock, a turkey, a deer, or something for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Fall, Spring, Summer or Winter. The class is generally two hours. You may BYOB. We’ll have a great time creating a wonderful piece of art worthy of hanging!!!!! The painting classes are $75 per person. This is especially great for a drab, rainy day! You will even get an original, signed print of our old cabin on the mountain back home in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. (I’m a ole Crackers Neck gal!)

I am a lifetime artist working in several mediums. I have rappelled from the tops of water towers to paint logos on them. When I was in 8th grade, I started co-teaching high school art. I have designed record labels for companies. I have painted many portraits for folks. I have painted murals in many businesses and homes. I was the residential artist in Burt Reynolds home, “Tara”, in LoganviIlle, Georgia where I designed their logo and painted lifesize oil paintings to hang in the home. I have been teaching painting classes for more than 5 years.

If you drive into Hampton, when you get to the red light, look straight ahead. You’ll see the water tower where I painted the bulldog on. I repelled from the top and hung on the side to paint the mural. Just the bulldog itself is 12 feet long by 8 feet tall. (That was in 1997! It’s now starting to fade.)

What we’ll do...
Create a painting with me worthy of hanging! I’ll provide all the materials and step by step instructions so you’ll have a true work of art worthy to be hung by the time you’re finished. Feel free to BYOB. During the activity, you’ll learn some interesting facts and features about the area. You’ll also hear some very interesting and amusing stories from growing up in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Have you seen the movie?

Where we’ll be...
In the cooler months, we will be inside the wedding venue. In the warmer months, we’ll either be outside on the wedding venue property, or we’ll sit in the “corn crib”, the covered outdoor stage. Using the wedding venue inside will be limited if we have weddings going on. (October painting classes will be on specific days only.) (Tips are much appreciated.)

🌟🌟🌟🌟NEW!!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟
PRESSURE CAN GREEN BEANS!
Would you like to learn how to pressure can fresh green beans?!
I will teach you how to pressure can your very own green beans!!
This is a dying art! Most people just buy cheap, processed, canned green beans in the grocery store. I raise my own “Ole Timey Greasy Beans”. You can’t find them in any grocery store. They are heirloom beans, which means that if you don’t save bean seeds to plant the following year, then the beans cease to exist. You must keep them going every year. I’ll teach you how to string and break beans, prep all your beans, jars, lids and your pressure canner. I’ll then teach you how to “can a run of beans”. I’ll even teach you how to “cook a mess” of beans. In this day and time, this knowledge is priceless!!!! To learn to pressure can the old fashioned way, it’s $100 per person and you’ll get to keep a quart of the green beans and a some seeds to start your own beans next season! (2022 green bean prices are $87 per bushel! That’s more than double what they were last year.) This is a day and a half process by the time you pick, string and break, prep everything, then can the beans. (You’ll only be stringing, breaking, and taught to prepare the beans, jars, lids, rings, pressure canner and how to operate/can a run of beans which will be an approximate 3 hour process.) All you will need is a pen and small notebook to take notes or you can even video the process. October canning days will be limited to specific days only.)(Tips are much appreciated!) This needs to be scheduled ahead of time for me to get beans, jars, lids, rings and the pressure canner ready.

🌟🌟🌟🌟NEW!!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟
MAKING A HOMEMADE QUILT
THIS is a dying art! Not many people make homemade quilts anymore. I remember me and my grannie sitting in my dads living room in Big Stone Gap, Va, (Crackers Neck area if you’ve seen the movie) in front of a huge fireplace with a fire, quilting until 3 or 4 in the morning. Grannie got to where she couldn’t see to thread her needle so I’d have to. She had 14 kids and there was never a dull moment. There’s even a song about my dad and his brothers. It’s called “Saturday Night in Begleyville” by RidgeRoad Riders! While working on your quilt, you’ll get to hear some of the hilarious stories my grannie told me and some I witnessed myself, like using a quart jar of moonshine as a level while building the old cabin on the mountain. You’ll even get to take home a copy print of my original artwork of the old cabin. It’s gone now. Only the precious memories remain. My papaw died when I was two so grannie raised 13 on her own! And boy, alllll the stories! I will provide all the materials for you to make a small lap quilt. I’ll give you instructions, step by step, while I put one together to show you side by side. When your quilt is finished, you can frame it or just use it as a lap quilt. (We will be using a machine because by hand, it would take a couple of days working on it all day.) Making a homemade quilt is $100 per person. This needs to be scheduled ahead for me to get all the supplies ready.

‼️Due to my allergies to pet dander, no pets allowed. Thank you. If after you check in and we find that you have brought a pet, you will be billed $250 for a professional cleaner to clean the loft. I have asthma, sarcoidosis and I am highly allergic. When I go into a space where a pet has been, I can’t breathe and my eyes swell shut. Please, please no pets, period. (Also, donkeys will kill a dog or anything that gets in the fence with them.)‼️

‼️Due to my horrible allergies to smoke, a lung disease called Sarcoidosis and having asthma...please, please no smoking nor vaping in nor on the porch of the cabin. Thank you so very much for not smoking. (Please no vaping inside the cabin. Thank you for respecting our property.) If after you leave, we smell smoke or vape scents in the cabin, you will be charged a $250 professional fumigation fee. If I walk into a room where there’s been cigarette/cigar/vaping, my eyes and throat start to swell. It is a huge health risk for me. I can’t stress this enough. Please, please no smoking/vaping.‼️

‼️Please note, if after you leave, the key is not returned, you will be charged $250 for a new lock system to be installed by a professional. Please return the key to the key lock box. Each time you open or close the lock box, you have to enter the code.‼️

Guest access
Feel free to hike the entire 33 acre property. Our farm adjoins the Cherokee National Forest. You can hike over the line if you’d like. There is a creek behind the red hay shed. If you cross the creek there, you can follow it to the top of the mountain to where the two springs come right out of the ground! (I’d pack a machete for the thickets.) That’s the best water you’ll ever drink in your life! We actually have a line running to our house from which we get fresh spring water. (The cabin is on city water.)

Please note, we do have different wildlife in our area. Turkey are abundant here, since no one hunts the property. Deer are also in the area. We also have black bear here. You may catch a glimpse of one, but I promise...they are more afraid of you than you are of them. A bear can smell your scent from a mile away and they usually steer clear of people.

🌟Please be aware of the electric fence.

We have cattle, donkeys, and miniature horses. The donkeys, absolutely love people!!!!! They are the sweetest natured animals we have. They will love all over you if you pet them. The white miniature donkey is Angel. The miniature gray donkey is Tucker. The full size gray one is Myrtle. If you sit on the ground, they’ll surround you and Angel will almost sit in your lap wanting you to scratch her rear end. =D
My favorite is Tucker. He’s my biggest baby and the sweetest of any of them. The two grays love hugs around the neck!
My big black cow, Annabelle is another big baby. I bottle fed her from when she was three days old until she was weaned and she’s very gentle. If you pet her, pet her from looking directly at her face. Just watch that you don’t get in the way of her head swinging around to swat flies off her back. She’s got some real force with that swing!

There is a small fire pit beside the cabin, if you’d like to roast hotdogs or s’mores. We do have bundles of firewood for sale for $5 per bundle, or you’re more than welcome to bring your own. The firewood is in the “outhouse” below the cabin. It sits just at the back of the big barn and is visible from the front porch of the cabin. There’s a lock box hanging on the inside of the door. You can leave your money in there. We just ask that you not start a fire on a windy day, nor leave the fire unattended. We prefer you stay with the fire until it almost burns out with no embers flying in the smoke or air. Thank you for respecting our property.
🔴Before starting a campfire, please check with our local Forestry Service for “burn bans”.

We hope you enjoy yourself while you’re here and that you leave refreshed and renewed. We hope you have a very blessed stay with us! We want you to make yourselves at home!

If you need anything at all, please let me know by call or text and I’ll do all I can to make your stay more enjoyable.

Thank you and God bless you and your family! =)

🌟🌟🌟🌟 I’ve had a couple of reviews about not having a way to prepare foods. (There is a microwave, toaster oven, InstaPot, and a portable propane grill.)

Please use aluminum foil on the grill and please clean the grill after each use. There’s dish soap under the sink.

🔴sorry...to make it a true getaway, there’s no tv nor wifi🔴

🔴We provide liquid hand soap only. We do not provide bath soap nor shampoo.🔴

🔴We do not provide paper towels or napkins. There is a starter roll of toilet paper.🔴

🔴If you plan to have an event or party, you will definitely be required to pay the rental fee for the venue if it is available for your reservation dates.

Other things to note
‼️Please dispose any sanitary items into the trash can. Please do not flush anything except toilet paper in the toilet. It will stop up and overflow. ‼️No flushable wipes are to be flushed down the toilet.‼️

🌟Please note...there’s hand soap only in the cabin. Not
body wash nor shampoos.

🌟All comforters, blankets, sheets, towels and couch covers are washed before each guest arrives. We do not reuse comforters or blankets between guests.

Clean sheets, towels, and wash cloths are provided. If you find that you need more towels, please let me know and I’ll bring some right up. If you’re staying more than one night, sometimes I’ll leave a basket with fresh towels on the porch at the door.(Please rest assured, no one will enter the cabin after you check in.)

There is a queen bed, love seat, full size fridge, coffee pot, microwave, toaster oven, InstaPot with a recipe book, portable propane grill, and a table with two chairs. (The table has 2 leafs underneath.) There's a chest of drawers with silverware and two coffee mugs. There is a small ironing board, and the iron is in the bottom drawer of the chest of drawers. There is a two person set of fine china. There are two small wine glasses. There is a wine bottle opener in the top drawer. Please be mindful that we have pump hand soap on the sink, but 🔴we do not furnish bath soap.🔴

To keep our cabin “a true get away”, 🔴there is no tv nor wifi.🔴
I have added some books and a small tic-tax-toe board.

There’s dish soap under the sink along with other items in case you’ve forgotten something at home. Please wash your dishes and leave them on a towel on the table.

I’ve left a notebook/journal in the cabin for you to leave a few notes of your favorite areas/activities you’ve done since you’ve checked in. You know...those extra special “secret” places you’ve found in our area. Our future guests will appreciate the hints to find your favorite places or things you’ve done. You can even leave suggested restaurants you’ve found.

Check out is 11:00am.

Feel free to hike the 34 acre property. The view from on top of the mountain behind the cabin is gorgeous! Please be aware of the electric fence where the cattle, miniature horses, and miniature donkeys are. You are more than welcome to cross the fence to meet the donkeys. They will love all over you!

🌟🌟🌟🌟There is a picnic basket if you’d like to pack a picnic to take with you on your adventures. Please be sure all items are clean and dry and back in the basket before you leave. There’s dish soap under the sink.

There are a couple of menus to local restaurants. Grubhub is now in our town, but I’m not sure how far they deliver.

We hope you have a rejuvenating and blessed stay with us! Again, thank you so very much for choosing to stay with us!

If you need anything at all while you’re here, please let me know by call or text, day or night.

🌟🌟🌟🌟Please note that you are going to be staying on a working farm, so you will be seeing and experiencing things that are on the farm.

Vintage Airstream near Appalachian Trail & Lake
RV Rental
Elizabethton

Experience a bit of mid-century Americana located near historic Elizabethton, Watauga Lake, and the Cherokee National Forest. Bring your boat or rent one here. Swimming, hiking, golf, NASCAR, boating, ziplines, paddle boarding, mountain biking/bike paths, fishing, kayaking, antiquing, classic cars, and country music.

The space
We deliberately kept the wacky/vintage features of this 1967 Airstream Trade Wind trailer. It was in remarkable shape when we found it and we wanted to keep it as original as possible.

Historic Elizabethton: Must see the covered bridge! The quaint old downtown has many shops and restaurants. On Saturday evenings you can get up close and personal with classic cars at the Cruise In (Carter County Car Club) from 5pm to 9pm. At 7pm on the same evenings catch a free concert at the covered bridge. Two gorgeous rivers run through Elizabethton and they are very popular with fishermen.

Area must see/do: This area offers a wealth of outdoor activities. Here is just a sample. The Tweetsie Trail bike/walk path (5 min drive). Tannery Knobs mountain bike park (15 min drive). Sycamore Shoals state park (15 min drive). The Creeper Trail bike/walk (1 hr drive). The wolf pack at Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium (1 hr drive). Zipline, tower jump and giant swing at Off The Grid Mountain Adventures (15 min drive). Boat/kayak/paddle board rentals at Lakeshore Marina (15 min drive). Country music at the Down Home in Johnson City (30 min drive), and The Carter Fold (1 hr drive). Bristol Motor Speedway (30 min drive). Mt. Mitchell State Park, highest point East of the Rockies (2 hr drive). Roan Mountain state park (20 min drive). Appalachian Trail (10 min drive). Historic Jonesborough, Tennessee's Oldest Town with its Int'l Storytelling Center (30 min drive). Dollywood amusement park & Gatlinburg (2 hr drive). AAA Baseball games at the Elizabethton Twins (10 min drive). Vintage drive-in movie theatre Stateline Drive-In (5 min drive).

Please respect that this is an antique Airstream and replacement parts are difficult or impossible to find. Please do watch your head in the doorways if you are tall.

Beds: Two twins with traditional mattresses OR the dinette makes into a queen bed which is 6" memory foam. TWO PERSON MAXIMUM per booking even though there are three beds, that is so you can choose where to sleep but we don't want more than two people due to constraints of the sewage system.

TV: A 22 inchTV is mounted on a swing arm so it is viewable from any of the beds and dining area inside. Has a Roku streaming stick on it. There is good cell phone signal since we are up high. Fast reliable fiberoptic Wifi is included.

Bathroom: There are TWO SHOWERS, one inside and one outside. The original mint green and turquoise bathroom is in the back behind a sliding door. There is a small closet for hanging clothes and a short shower with crazy vintage folding shower curtain. The "tub" is tiny. First aid items, towels, wash cloths, shampoo, shower gel, and hand soap is provided.

Clotheslines: There is one inside (between the twin beds) and one outside, and room to hang wet things on the side of the outdoor shower.

Cooking: The original four burner stove still works. There is a microwave, small fridge, toaster, French Press coffee maker and a percolator, cookware, utensils, plates, glasses, cups, bottle openers, etc... Outside is a cooler for more drinks, charcoal grill and grilling tools, and fire pit. Firewood is provided as well as basic supplies like oil, salt, pepper, spices, and sugar. Please note we do not have a functional oven.

Lighting: Coming up the driveway we have several motion-activated solar lights. Additionally, the patio area has electric lights on a timer, but you can control those. Each bed has its own light and electrical outlet.

Children: Please supervise children. Beyond the fence is a steep drop off which is why we added the fence. The firepit and charcoal grill are obvious hazards. There are several playgrounds in Elizabethton. For rainy days check out the Hands On Discovery Center and Fossil Site in Gray (40 min drive).

Pets: You are welcome to bring one or two well-behaved dogs. Dogs are absolutely not permitted on the beds, cannot be left unattended, or outside alone at night. We've provided one tie-out. Please pick up after your dog. No cats please due to allergies. $25 pet fee due to the extra cleaning required.

Wildlife: We've got lots of wildlife so please don't leave any food or fish guts outside, especially overnight.

Site: The Airstream is located next to a winding mountain road that is generally quiet. However, there are neighbors who have dogs and who have to mow their lawns or weed whack so its not always perfectly quiet here.

Parking: There is plenty of room for two vehicles (or one vehicle and your boat). The entrance to the driveway is at a sharp angle to the road so you are recommended to turn your vehicle around by the Airstream so that when you head out again you are not backing into the road. We have one security camera facing the driveway.

Guest access
Entire space.

Other things to note
Please do not bring unregistered guests.
Please do not pitch any tents.
Quiet time is to be strictly observed 10pm to 7am.
Two person maximum.
If you are bringing a pet please pay the pet fee.
Please do not build huge fires in the fire pit, it can crack the masonry.

Please do not attempt to open the windows on the Airstream. They are difficult to manage, are a danger to people walking around outside, and are prone to shatter for seemingly no reason. The glass is curved and hard to find and expensive to replace. Tons of ventilation is provided by two ceiling fans (intake and exhaust) along with the big screen door.

The guided tour:

Arrival:
Upon arrival you're greeted by a spacious front porch with Adirondack chairs inviting you for a morning coffee while you listen to the birds.

Entering:
Upon entering, you'll first notice the open floor plan melding the dining area, entry way, and living space. I modified the blueprints of the build to provide lofted ceilings in this space giving the area a grand, elevated feel.

The Living Space:
On the right you'll experience a massive, memory foam couch that you'll be hard-pressed to get out of once you melt in.
This area has a 65" Roku smart TV for big entertainment during your stay. You'll also find HDMI and Ethernet ports here that allow a gaming console or PC to easily connect to the TV and internet.

The Kitchen:
On the left, you'll see the dining area, island, and kitchen.
The dining table easily sits four with overflow seating at the island to entertain plenty of guests if you're playing games or enjoying a meal.
The kitchen comes fully stocked with any/all items to prepare a meal and small appliances to account for everything else.
The island makes for an amazing spot of extra counter space for preparing meals and conversing. Way better than staring at a cabinet door!

The Washroom:
The hallway and kitchen are bridged by the washer/dryer space that'll allow you to either pack lighter or return home with clean clothes instead of a bag of dirty clothes and a responsibility when you get home.
Some key items in this area:
- pet food/water bowls
- baby booster seat
- vacuum/mop
- kids cleaning set (for helping 😉)

The Hallway & Bedrooms:

The first bedroom on the right is the 3rd bedroom containing a twin bed with lots of cool blue, gray, and green vibes. This (and each) bedroom has blackout curtains for young ones, or for getting "juuuust a little more sleep" each morning.
The end tables have curated knobs that were the outcome of plenty of local antique and vintage store hunts. I highly suggest you do some hunting yourself as The Village antique mall is right around the corner.

The shared full bathroom is down the hallway on your left. This bathroom contains the tub and some baby toys to dial back the stress of bathing your little one away from home.

Further down the hallway is a small coat closet of games that I'm slowly trying to build upon, so make sure you check each stay!

To the right is the 2nd bedroom housing a queen bed with warm brown, red, and yellow tones.
This bedroom's closet has the Pack'n'Play and a perfect amount of extra space for it across from the bed.

Lastly, the primary bedroom opposes the 2nd bedroom at the end of the hallway & to the left. This bedroom has a king bed with gray, brown, and green colors. This bedroom includes a 55" Roku smart TV.
Each bedside table has USB ports for charging your phone without having to kneel and hunt for outlets close enough to access your device while staying cozy in bed.
This bedroom contains a private, full bath with a walk-in shower.

I hope I've painted a captivating and desiring picture of my home for you and shown you this home is the best choice for your next stay in Elizabethton.

If you're not quite ready, or just because you've made it this far, make sure to mark this as a favorite so you can easily come back to it when revisiting your travel plans.

Guest access
Full, private access to the entire home and yard

Self check-in via keypad with a unique code provided for your stay

Other things to note
The TVs use a "Guest Mode" that will log you out of everything upon checkout.

River Cottage at the Covered Bridge
House
Elizabethton

This River Cottage is about 15 minutes from the Bristol Motor Speedway. It will sleep up to 7 individuals. There is access to hiking, fishing (out you back door), antique shopping within minutes. The downtown of Elizabethton is a 5 minute walk. The Covered Bridge is the structure shown. For those who have no prior reviews on Airbnb, we may require the completion of our standard rental questionnaire, especially for longer stays.

The space
This is a three bedroom, one bath, house located in the heart of historic Elizabethton, Tn. The front porch views the famous covered bridge and the property has a river stocked with trout running through it. It is in the foothills of the Smokey's and the Appalachian Mountain Chain.
It has a full kitchen.
The town has a movie theater and many restaurants as well as a few lounges. It is close to Asheville, NC and Gatlinburg, Tn.
The Bristol Motor Speedway is 15 minutes away!!! Come for the Spring or Fall race!
This house has a fenced in back yard with a garden. It can be used for partys or for just relaxing away from the rat race.
The kid's room has stuffed animals and its own TV. There are 3 TVs in the house and it has basic cable.
You will love to walk across the covered bridge and seek out the antique stores downtown or walk over to its sidewalk cafes.
We feel this neighborhood is very charming. It is a pure slice of Americana. The house was probably build in the 1930's or 1940's. It too has a great amount of charm, but please remember it is not a modern hotel. A great deal of the personality of the town and the house is acquired though the aging process. We do strive to keep it in a clean and cozy condition with a warm interior designed and decorated for relaxing. If this sounds like your kind of place, please come be our guests!

Guest access
Guest will have access to the river and the covered bridge. They can walk downtown and enjoy the concerts at Ziggy Rays Pizza, enjoy the antique shops and all the restaurants. Riverside Taphouse is especially fun with wonderful beverages and a BBQ restaurant next door.
The river bank belongs to use and is private. Though some may use it without permission, you may ask them to leave it you wish to use the area privately. This area is from 4th street extended to river through the back fence extended to the river.

Other things to note
Fishing: Tennessee has a three day license for $20 for all species except trout. A 3 day license for all species including trout is $40. Tennessee requires a license unless someone is renting farm land and is maintaining that property. In my opinion, a fishing license would be required. Children age 12 and under do not need a license until their 13th birthday.
