It has a very spacious gathering area on the lower level that is a kitchen/dining/living room all in one. The loft studio is also very spacious with a full living quarters. It is surrounded by the great outdoors and a few cows and other wild animals that you will see on occasion.

The home was as clean as a freshly mucked stall, beautifully decorated, and stocked to the rafters with towels and plates. With plenty of roosting spots, it offered the perfect balance—tons of space to gather as a herd and plenty of rooms to graze in private when needed. The independent temperature control in every room was a breath of fresh country air, and the soundproofing was so good, not a peep carried across the house. The loft was a great hideaway for the little ones.Outside, we had an absolute barnstormer of a time—grilling, gathering ‘round the fire pit, and playing games with the whole crew. There were only two smaller sofas in the main living space, which made corralling all the guests a bit tricky for evening lounging. Still, we managed, thanks to a cozy rug that made the space feel warm as a hayloft.The lack of a dishwasher was the biggest hitch in our wagon ride. For a home stocked to the gills with dishes and built for large groups, wrangling the dirty dishes over multiple days felt like shoveling hay nonstop. While the host graciously allowed guests to leave dirty dishes for cleanup, the sheer volume became a tough row to hoe by the end of the long weekend.Speaking of the host—quick as a farmhand, they were responsive to our couple of minor questions and needs. All in all, our stay was as easy as rolling in the hay—an udder delight! We’d hoof it back in a heartbeat."

- "The home was comfortable and provided a great vacation hub for the 4-5 days we stayed in KC area. Centrally located to historical areas like Liberty, Independence, and Far West. The only thing we wish the property had was laundry facilities. For a short stay not a problem, but for longer it was unfortunate we had to go sit at a laundry mat for several hours on our vacation...never seen a house without laundry. Guess we shouldn't have assumed. We had two adults and four children; utilizing the blow up mattress. That worked but did make the living room pretty tight once the bed was blown up. Not a complaint, just wanted to provide that information for anyone who wants to know. It worked out just fine for us. Kitchen is very nice and well stocked with all the tools you would need. We grilled one night and cooked the others. Walmart just a few minutes away as well as several restaurants. Bathroom is cozy, but still nice. Communication was great. They sent us a text to welcome us and provide pass code for door. Also followed up during the week and after our departure. Super easy to work with in our case."

Great place" - "This was our first time renting through VRBO, and our host was phenomenal. I asked a lot of questions and she patiently answered all of them. She even allowed us to add two more guests to our stay. After allowing us to add a guest, she even offered to have a blowup mattress available. When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was so much more than I expected. The entire space was super clean, the kitchen area was great for preparing all our meals, the living room had a couch big enough for all of us to sit, the bedroom had a king sized bed, and it came with a cool washer/dryer unit that was great to keep us going for the week we were there. This home is located in a safe neighborhood and is close to shopping. I cannot recommend this rental enough. It was a wonderful experience with the host, location and amenities were so much more than I expected, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Five Stars for sure!"

Our small home is off the beaten path and offers the best of both worlds. A safe country getaway on a quiet, secluded dead end road with only you and the landlord (us) that lives a block away. The interior has been completely renovated throughout and is furnished with top-of-the-line seating for the living room, a 42" flat screen TV with Roku for all your streaming needs. Home solely uses Fiberoptics Wifi with incredible speeds. Also, a table for two, that can be converted into a workstation. The bedroom is loaded with storage, a full closet, headboard cubbies and under the bed drawers. The bed has a queen size "Ultimate Purple Mattress". All the windows in the house are equipped with cordless Roman shades. The house sits on the owner's 5 acres bordered by a creek which provides a nature sanctuary to many species of birds, deer, fox, coyotes and etc. There is a storage building with a grill inside for the tenants use. The building can also be used for bicycle. golf club storage or whatever else you want protected with your own lock. After a hard day's work, come home and relax on the deck watching the sunset or sitting by the firepit watching the stars while listening to the crackle of the wood supplied by the landlord.
Located only 2 1/2 miles away, is the Historic downtown of Excelsior Springs; known back in the day for its healing waters. Downtown offers unique shops, restaurants, breweries and wine tasting rooms from the surrounding vineyards.

Nestled in Liberty, this neighborhood boasts a vibrant shopping, dining, and entertainment scene all its own. Our backyard is fully fenced, providing a safe space for your pet to roam and play. While pets are welcome to enjoy the outdoors, we kindly ask our guests that peeing be done in the designated bathroom areas not in the backyard, especially for our male guests.

For their safety and the consideration of others, pets should be either confined to a kennel or kept on a leash when not in the backyard.

We have a high chair and pack-n-play that can be used by our guests at all times. Pack n play is stored in the closet and you can use it whenever you need it. Just make sure to maintain overall cleanliness when using it and please take good care of it so more guests can enjoy it.

It should be noted, the commercial space downstairs houses an upscale whiskey bar (Warbird Whiskey). It’s open Thursday - Saturday with last call at 9pm. There will be noise from the bar that can be heard in the loft until it closes down.

The space
The cabin's design imitates nature with its high ceilings and large windows, filling the space with natural light and immersing you into the surroundings. There is one bedroom with a queen sized bed, one bathroom, and a full kitchen. The furnishings pay homage to the simple things in life and bring a feeling of modern nostalgia. Drifting your memories to times of summer camp and vacations to the mountains. The living room has a cozy couch and a well-stocked bookshelf, encouraging you to sink into the moment by yourself or with someone you love. The wood burning fireplace adds to the ambiance during colder seasons.

Outside the home awaits a paradise of wildlife, including 3 resident eagles, herons, beaver and the occasional otter! The wooded lakefront land is rightfully the star of the show. The Elms Resort and Spa is 10 minutes from the cabin and offers day passes for anyone wanting to use the grottos or spa facilities. Watkins Mill State Park is under 15 minutes from the cabin along with a handful of wineries all under a 20 minute drive. The Hall of Waters is also an amazing free activity to learn the unique history of Excelsior Springs.

Guests will have access to the entire outside property. The lake waters are best suited for paddling (ie: canoe, kayaks) vs swimming. The cabin has a canoe you can take or you can pay a small fee to access the lake with your own personal kayaks or paddle boards. Inside guests have access to the main living areas including: bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining area and kitchen. The second bedroom and basement are off limits, reserved for the homeowners storage.

Our property was once owned by Bill Payne, Chief of Police from 1926-1950. Bill decided in the early 40's to add on to the back of the residence to facilitate keeping those incarcerated overnight. That space is now our kitchen. Our Guest House sits directly behind that kitchen and once was the garage for the police car. A second story was added in the early 50's and now belongs to the kitchenette and two of our rooms. (Pacific and European) Our Caribbean Suite is on the main level.

The space
There are ample outdoor spaces to enjoy including a paver with fire pit and umbrella with LED lights for a nice evening ambiance. There is a nice cedar pergola next to the fire pit area. Also, there is a large porch on the second level that offers a comfy place to sit and sip your favorite beverage.

Our unique namesake cabin is located right on our spring-fed 15 acre private lake surrounded by 200 acres of gorgeous wooded hills and meadows with limestone boulders and miles of hiking trails. The cabin is located In a very private location and is light and airy with bright windows on all sides, wrap-around decks and vaulted ceilings.

The space
This cabin is also our home and is fully furnished. All cooking and other utensils are provided along with spices and any other things you may need. Coffee and tea are provided as well. There is a Ninja coffee pot in the kitchen and Keurig in the loft bedroom.

Given that the cabin is on a septic system we ask that guests be very diligent (especially if they have children) and remember that absolutely nothing is flushable other than toilet paper (not even ‘flushable’ items). :)

The main floor restroom includes a claw foot tub with rain shower and hand held. The master suite restroom includes a walk-in shower.
