- "I loved this cabin. It's on a very pretty piece of land and it overlooks a creek. It was amazingly relaxing to sit out on the porch and listen to the creek. There is a neighboring cabin, but the cabins are not really close to each other. The cabin I stayed in felt private and secure. I loved it. Watch out for the sweet dogs on the property as you drive in. They won't bother you at all during your stay, but they lie in the driveway and expect you to drive around them. :D Try not to be alarmed by the hummingbirds that buzz around the porch. There's a feeder hanging there, and it's a delight to sit and watch them. I'll probably stay here again when I return to Sequatchie Valley. I have regular business there. The host was communicative and everything was terrific. "

Reel Simple LAKEFRONT Cabin sits at the back of our property, right on the bank of Big Creek Lake, while offering mountain charm at its best. Tucked into a couple acres for you to explore, you will enjoy the peaceful calm of the area. You are invited to bring your fishing poles (with license), kayaks, boat (with electric motor only) and paddleboards to use on the lake. Big Creek Lake spans 74 acres for your enjoyment. I want to disclose that in the warm months of around May-September, there has been a large vegetation growth along the banks in the lake. Keep in mind that Big Creek Lake is a public water source so we cannot treat the vegetation with chemicals. If you plan to fish, kayak or swim in the lake, keep this in mind and plan accordingly.

The location of our cabin is perfect, it sits in the middle of Grundy County and is a short drive to the many trailheads of the South Cumberland State Parks, the Coalmont OHV Park, The Caverns, Sewanee and University of the South. Nashville is 1.5 hours away; Chattanooga is an hour and McMinnville and Manchester are both 35-minute drives. If you don't feel like exploring the area, you will enjoy the peaceful serenity of the cabin. At night, the area is perfect for stargazing.

Reel Simple LAKEFRONT Cabin is a 500 sq. ft. getaway. Small, yes, but let's face it, you're here to enjoy the outside! We offer what many of the other local choices don't - true privacy. If you choose not to see anyone during your stay, that is possible.

The cabin features a kitchen with a full-size propane stove, kitchen sink, microwave and full-size refrigerator. The kitchen is complete with everything you will need to cook meals during your stay. There is a small barrel-style table with four stools. The cozy living area has a futon, a chair and a Roku television so you can sign in to your streaming channel. A private bathroom with a shower, toilet and a small sink vanity, complete the downstairs. Upstairs is an open loft bedroom with a queen size bed. Make sure you check out the stairs that lead to the loft. If you have mobility problems - this will not be ideal for you. The front porch offers a swing and two Adirondak chairs for your relaxation. This is the perfect place to begin and end your day.

Our cabin has city water, central heating/air conditioning, high-speed internet and privacy. Unlike a lot of other properties in the area, you will NOT be near another rental. This cabin is the only rental we offer on our property for our guests to enjoy their stay in peace.

We have a fire pit near the pavilion and have provided wood. The wind that comes off the lake can be very strong. Under no circumstances can the fire pit be used during dry weather or high winds. Please do not leave fire unattended and make sure it is out completely before you retire for the evening.

A couple extras on the property include a large pavilion where you will find two grills. One is propane with a tank on site that we fill up for your use and the other is charcoal (you will have to provide your own charcoal). Grill utensils are provided in the cabin. A picnic table for you to enjoy your meals is also under the pavilion. There are two fans that can help with air flow, if needed.

We have a gravel turnaround near the cabin, so if you have a trailer to haul your offroad vehicle, you can easily maneuver around.

Pet Policy: Being dog lovers ourselves, we can't imagine taking a trip without our dogs. Feel free to bring yours to enjoy your visit to the cabin. We charge $20 per dog, per stay (sorry, limit of 2). PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME BEFORE BOOKING TO GET A QUOTE THAT INCLUDES THE PET FEE(S).

Special Note: The pasture and woods around the cabin will give you and your guests over two acres to explore. The land near the cabin is shared between your family and the main home. We will do our best not to interfere with your stay, but property maintenance still needs to be done. We try to mow between bookings, but the weather does not always cooperate with that plan :)

Delightful and cozy, this 2023 custom built 1200 square foot two bedroom home will be your sanctuary from reality.

Nestled on a private 3 acre lake, enjoy the sounds of the birds singing and the breeze whispering in the leaves. Fall asleep to the sounds of frogs and crickets and occasional owl. The perfect place to enjoy stargazing by the lake.

Designed with a modern flare, this house was built for entertaining and unwinding.
The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed and en suite bath equipped with soaking tub and shower.

The upstairs loft has two queen beds, en suite bathroom, and access to a private deck.
The large, gourmet style kitchen is fully stocked so that you can prepare a full meal. The main room with cathedral ceilings and numerous windows brings in plenty of natural light and offers a nice view of the property.

Enjoy walking around the perimeter of the lake, through the quiet woods of over 9 acres, with wildflowers, and beautiful native plants and trees along the way. Only one other cottage has access to the lake and property and it is discreetly tucked away out of sight.

You are welcome to bring your kayak and fish to your heart's content, you will find bass, brim, crappie and catfish. One end of the lake would be suitable for shoreline casting. Please note that the lake does not have a beach, but is surrounded by protective wetland along most of its shoreline. You can launch your kayak easily, however it is not suitable for wading or swimming.

The house is located down a gravel driveway.

Just minutes away from the majesty of the new Savage Gulf State Park. This newest Tennessee State Park has over 30 miles of hiking for all skill levels, glorious waterfalls, and magnificent overlooks where you can see for miles.

Our Home has a large living area ,as well as living and seating on the screened in porch and the lower deck outside a fully stocked kitchen , laundry room 1 bedroom downstairs full bath downstairs , upstairs we have 1 bedroom and full bath with the bunk beds in the hall. The outside offers a grill, fire pit and of course the lake views .

You will need a car when you are staying in our home there are a couple of company's that offer transportation back and forth to the caverns if you are going to a show.

Guests will have acess to the entirety of the home. The property does have a garage, but is reserved for the owners only.
Other things to note
To the extent now or hereafter permitted by applicable law, the lessee shall hold harmless the Cooley’s Rift Homeowners’ Association, Inc. from and against any and all liability related to access to and use of any Association facilities, structures, roadways, gate, natural habitats (including lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and trails) or other common areas contained within the Cooley’s Rift community.

The lessee also acknowledges and agrees to abide by all Cooley’s Rift rules.

• No Open Burning - Fires are permitted in pavilion firepit and owner firepits. Violation of this policy is subject to $1000.00 fine.

• Road Weight Limits - 10 ton per axle.

• Road Speed Limit 25 MPH - Please watch carefully for walkers, joggers, bikers.

• Enjoy trail system at your own risk.

• All Cooley’s Rift amenities are for owners in good standing and their invited guests only.

• Enjoy Lake Louisa at your own risk. Persons under 14 must have adult supervision.

• No gas motors allowed on Lake Louisa.

Built in 1885 in the center of Altamont, Tennessee, this spacious historic home offers a one-of-a-kind getaway!

Listed on the State & National Historic Registry, The Manor was known as the largest and grandest of all the brick homes in Grundy County. After two years of extensive renovations, The Manor features six bedrooms, three bathrooms, multiple sitting rooms, new kitchen appliances, beautiful furnishings to compliment the age of the home, elegant crystal chandeliers, designer wall coverings, along with conveniences such as multiple televisions with DirectTV Stream, fiber internet with Wi-Fi, and a fully stocked kitchen.

This beautiful two-story brick home is perfect for large family and friend gatherings with almost 5,000 square feet of living space. Big, spacious, clean, airy, with efficient HVAC to keep it cool during the hot and humid days of early July. There's a wonderful veranda on the north side with powerful fans that became our favorite hang-out spot. A couple things to be aware of. There are no closets in most of the bedrooms; just a rack where you can hang some clothes. There's a lot of noise from trucks and motorcycles passing by all the time. We loved the location, but it is a half-hour drive from major markets, restaurants, and other amenities. Altamont is really a tiny town. They did not distract from our enjoyment; they were just things we learned to adjust to."

- Please ensure all guests are accounted for within your reservation; we can accommodate up to 4 inside the cabin. *IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN RV,* there is a $10 per person, per night fee for full RV hookups. We do not allow anyone that is not accounted for onto the property, even if they do not plan to stay the night. Unannounced guests will result in a $100 per guest, per night, charge to your account AND you will need to vacate immediately. Review the listing carefully to ensure all of your guests will be comfortable.

- Pets require an $80 additional cleaning fee; there is a $180 fee for bringing an unannounced pet. Ensure all pet waste is picked up.

- No fires are permitted outside of the designated outdoor fire ring or the outdoor BBQ. All fires are to be extinguished after use.

- There is no trash service at the home. All trash must be bagged and left for housekeeping to collect. There is a nearby sanitation center if needed (they are closed Thursdays and Sundays).

- If you are sensitive to political signs, flags (US, Confederate, or otherwise), this may not be the right listing for you. Although we do not post affiliations, some surrounding homes do.

- This cabin is on a septic system. Toilets can only handle septic-safe toilet paper. Do not flush hygiene products, wipes, nor excessive tissue (including ones marked as flushable, as they are not designed for septic systems). This will cause a blockage and render all plumbing unusable.

*The bathroom is on the main floor, while the lofted bedroom is upstairs. If you prefer not to use the stairs, the sofa also opens into a queen-sized bed. The sofa bed is designed for convenience over comfort; if you are sensitive to mattresses, the bed is recommended.*

*The staircase to get to the loft is sturdy but narrow, which may make it difficult to bring suitcases upstairs. Also, the doorway to the loft is 5’7” tall; please be mindful*

- The inflatable hot tub can reach temperatures up to 104°F. *It must be at least 40°F outside in order for the hot tub to effectively heat.* Due to the nature of inflatable hot tubs, it will lose about 5°F per hour that the lid is off; weather conditions and use of the jets may expedite this cooling. Unlike a traditional hot tub, there are no seats inside. There are flower-shaped sponges in the hot tub, which help keep the water clean. If you prefer to take these out while in the water, they must be placed back in when you exit. **DO NOT THROW THE SPONGES OVER THE RAILING.**

“On the Beech” A Unique, Authentically Hand-Crafted Tiny Treehouse above a world class waterfall

The space
EXPERIENCE FINE GLAMPING
This amazing tiny “treehouse” sits solidly on the ground on the edge of a cliff, yet perched amidst the lofty branches of a giant Beech tree that is rooted below the cliff. Hence it’s name, “On the Beech”. Featuring truly unique, authentic and creative craftsmanship, you won’t find anything like it in this world.
I hand crafted the Trusses for the barrel shaped roof of the covered porch to mirror the curve of the half dome roof over the bathroom. Trivia quiz upon arrival: what is the dome repurposed from and what other creatively repurposed items can you spot in the construction of this creative space?

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS:
1. Climb the ladder to a spacious loft with double bed (deep Memory Foam Mattress). Well insulated space with space heater in winter、great ventilation and air conditioning in summer. Close the trap door for complete, cozy privacy.
2. The space under the stairs in the heated kitchen accommodates a double floor mattress that can be moved from the futon couch on the covered deck. OR
3. On balmy summer nights, enjoy sleeping for two on the double futon couch on the covered deck.
4. Maybe a bit extreme, but the open portion of the deck can handle two more in hammocks.
It’s a crowded stretch, but for truly social animals, that’s 2 in the loft, 2 under the stairs, 2 on the covered deck and 2 in hammocks. 8 in a tiny treehouse? Wow!

The indoor BATHROOM features a spacious hot shower and sink. An odorless composting privy sits just outside the main bathroom.

FOOD PREP: The kitchen is furnished with a 2-burner hot plate, microwave oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, and sink.
A charcoal grill is on the open deck in the trees.
There is a fire pit just outside. S’mores, roast hot dogs or brew up a tasty stew in a cast iron pot hung from the provided tripod.

DINING AREA: With classic “Tiny House” space efficiency, the dining table, located in the kitchen, is on locking wheels. It’s a prep counter that converts to a dining table that can be enjoyed either indoors or rolled outside to the covered porch or treetop deck next to the grill. Have it your way.

Oh, did we mention that THE BEECH Treehouse sits just 30 feet from the top of a Tennessee State Park class, 50-foot tall PRIVATE WATERFALL? Depending on rainfall, Miller Falls will thunder or gently lull you to sleep.

Disclaimer: Waterfall flow is subject to fluctuations in temperature, seasonal droughts, & rainfall. Most favorable seasons for waterfall flow are fall, winter & early spring".

A short walk across the foot bridge is a bench at the top of the falls for quiet contemplation in nature’s magnificence. Follow the trail to the bottom of the falls and to the natural stone bench located in the grotto behind the falls. Cool summer bliss. Take a bracing summer shower with your significant other in the falls.
For the fit and adventurous, follow the trail-less creek bed down the ravine over boulders the size of school busses to the next waterfall. We named it Swallow-Tail Falls for obvious reasons.
Hungry for more adventure? Keep descending the creek bed to the confluence of Miller’s Creek and Sewanee Creek. The bottom of the canyon (AKA “gulf” to locals) is naturally spectacular. You can follow Sewanee Creek for many miles, exploring caves, underground fountains and springs that gush from sheer mountain sides.

The Falls at Sewanee Creek offers even more. From the top of the bluff are hidden lookouts I can show you. Book other nearby cabins (Log, CONEX) Or, stay in our semi-primitive campground featuring small sleeping yurts we call “Yurtles” and a well-furnished outdoor kitchen at an extra charge.

Special Caution: The treehouse is located at the top of a steep cliff. It is not small child friendly. If you bring your small children it is at your and their peril.

In winter, when temperatures drop below freezing, plumbing is vulnerable. Under freezing conditions, water will be turned off and all water supply pipes drained. An alternate source of water can be made available that you can heat on the hot plate.

Heated sleeping spaces are the loft and kitchen only. Many guests have enjoyed covered outdoor sleeping on the covered deck. If you choose winter outdoor sleeping, be sure to bring thick comforters or low-temp rated sleeping bags.

Welcome to Heavensent, our beloved family tiny home nestled in the woods, with a lake view of the beautiful Tracy City right on top of Monteagle Mountain.

The Retreat at Water’s Edge is a tiny-home community 20 minutes from The University of the South, better known as Sewanee. A short trip to Chattanooga or Nashville, close to lots of lookouts, great restaurants, hiking trails, caverns, and Jack Daniel’s Distillery—Tennessee at its best!

The space
This tiny home is a cozy 400 sq ft with an open concept, including stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer, coffeemaker, frother, microwave, blender, toaster, and all the necessities.

TV with Wi-Fi is available for your entertainment needs. There are plenty of outdoor spaces for the kids to explore and play.

The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with a TV and Wi-Fi to unwind. There are twin bunkbeds in the hallway for your convenience and the bathroom features a combination tub/shower.

Our outdoor living area features a front porch with a side deck facing the lake, and there is also a back deck for your family to enjoy! Super proud to share our outside space with you and your loved ones. One of our favorite features!

The Carriage House Farm is located on the Cumberland Plateau, surrounded by the South Cumberland State Park system. We are within minutes of Fiery Gizzard, Stone Door, Greeter Falls. the Mountain Goat Trail and The Caverns. The Carriage House is quiet and secluded and offers walking trails, bluff views, farm animals and a duck pond on the property. We are pet friendly. If you are really adventurous it is only a short hike to visit the longhorns.

The space
The Carriage House is an upstairs apartment. It is very spacious. If you come during spring, summer and early fall there are lots of flowers. We have a walking bluff trail with a spectacular view of the sunset. We also have a herd of Longhorn cattle that are very friendly and will come to meet you for pets and treats. We also have two very friendly dogs, Dom, the Border Collie, and Bonnie, an Australian Shepherd..

The Carriage House is a completely furnished cottage. Guests are welcome to walk the property and enjoy the animals.

Other things to note
A lot of our guests come here for concerts at The Caverns. Through the spring, summer and fall certain concerts will be taped by PBS. We are 4 miles away, as the crow flies. The scenic drive to The Caverns is about 20 minutes down the mountain. We also get a lot of hikers. The Fiery Gizzard trail is known worldwide. We are also minutes away from the Coalmont OHV Park that has over 1,700 acres of off road trails to explore.

The space
The 400 sq. foot space has high ceilings, lots of windows and full size appliances.

There is a private bedroom with a queen bed, loft with queen bed, living room, and great outdoor entertaining space.

Enjoy the outdoors with a wood burning firepit and four Adirondack chairs. Relax by the gas fireplace while sitting on the cozy seats under the covered section of our deck. Cook your dinner on the outdoor grill and sit at the farmhouse table on the deck.

Guest access
We are on the main road from the entrance road of the tiny home community. The other areas are under construction. Please be careful driving through the community, especially on rainy days, as it gets muddy.

The Retreat offers a cozy cottage for down time & you have the option to hike trails down to falls area, socialize with other guests or sit and have your own Fire in our fire pit on the property and just relax! Local Restaurants minutes away, lake access 10 minutes away with beautiful woodsy setting perfect for getting away from the hustle of everyday life! Covered patio for relaxing and you can eat outdoors with a grill guests can use and a fully equipped kitchen if you choose to cook.

The space
This woodsy Oasis is perfect for escaping and taking a relaxing stroll through the woods or a hike down to the waterfall if you choose to do so.

Guest access
The Pavillion is a common area for guests and also the playground for kids and the up front common area with fire pit is an area for all guest and of course feel free to walk the hiking trails down to the waterfalls or gravel roads just please be respectful of the other guests and watch out for creatures you are in the woods!!!

We have several different options that include 4 private rooms and a loft area. There is a shared living space, kitchenette 3 full bathrooms, and a half bath. (18+)

This listing is for a private room at the Goat Pen.
ALL guests must be 18+.

This room includes one full bed, a dresser, floor lamp, and a sitting chair.
The room is approximately 12' x 12'.
This room is located next to the community kitchenette.
It is across the hall from a full bathroom, and a few more steps away from a utility sink and two more full bathrooms that are available to all guests.
It is adjacent to one other room that contains one double bed.

Guests will have access to all community living space.

The kitchenette has a community coffee maker, keurig, toaster oven, and fridge.
There are 3.5 bathrooms available for all guests. Each has it's own lock.
There is also a balcony that is only accessible to Goat Pen guests.
There is dedicated, off the street parking for only Goat Pen Guests.

You may contact us with any questions or concerns you may have prior to / during your stay. Our goal is to provide you an amazing experience while enjoying all that our area has to offer.

As we are not a hotel, we cannot guarantee that someone will be available to assist you from the hours of 8 PM to 8 AM.

Nestled on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau in Tracy City is our quiet cottage. We are located on Dutchtown Rd., Just minutes away from the Fiery Gizzard Trail head. We are 5 miles away from South Cumberland State Park Visitor and Information Center, And 12 miles from the University of the South. Other attractions include Grundy Lakes, Foster Falls, Denny Cove, Savage Gulf, Stone Door and Greeter Falls and The Mountain Goat Trail. Our place is about 15 minutes drive from the caverns .

The space
The nest has a big place to park . The stars ,if they are out , has a wonderful view. The house has everything you need from soaps to shampoo 's . Toilet paper and paper towels, tea, coffee and snacks .

You have the house to yourself !!!

Other things to note
We would appreciate if you would not take our things and we would appreciate if you would do your own dishes .we also would appreciate that no pets or smoking inside the house . There is an ashtray out side on the porch . I try to keep things clean for everyone that comes to stay at our place. Please be respectful .
