We like old houses and Blythewood Plantation did not disappoint. The home was beautiful, well maintained and furnished with many antiques and personal items from the owners. My husband and I would like to welcome everyone to our relaxing house in the heart of Old Mandeville. You will love it and not want to leave.

Our house is only steps away from Mandeville’s Beautiful Lakefront which is perfect to take a leisurely walk, jog, ride bikes or just sit and enjoy the views and sunsets. There are children’s playgrounds on both ends and a splash pad at the end of the lakefront near our house.

The city boat launch is across the street at the harbor for those who want to bring a boat or book a fishing trip with Wicked Fishing Charters which leaves from the launch. They also offer sunset cruises and kayak rentals.

The Tammany Trace Bike Trail is right down the street. It is originally a corridor for the Illinois Central Railroad and now is Louisiana’s first rail-trail. The bike path runs from Downtown Covington to Slidell.

Old Mandeville offers great restaurants, pubs, gift shops, Saturday outdoor markets, churches and so much more, all within walking and biking distance.

New Orleans' French Quarter, Audubon Zoo, Aquariums of the America, The National WWII Museum, even Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras are less then 45 minutes away!

The Cowboy Retreat suite is inside a lovely private home located in the charming town of Hammond, LA which is just 45 minute drive from Baton Rouge and an hour's drive from New Orleans. It is also only a 5 minute drive from the local university (SLU) and the local hospital (North Oaks). We welcome extended stay medical and educational professionals as well as professionals in other areas. We also welcome parents of SLU students and family members of patients at North Oaks.

We allow guests access to our spacious kitchen including the use of almost all of our small appliances (coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, can opener), but we reserve the right to restrict use of some large appliances such as the oven and stove due to safety concerns. We provide silverware, dishware, and seasonings such as salt, pepper, sugar, coffee creamer, and vegetable oil. We also provide a complimentary continental breakfast and snacks such as granola bars, cookies, and popcorn.

House has a swing on the porch and a hammock in the front yard. Modern kitchen conveniences include all contemporary Bosch appliances (icemaker, under counter refrigerator and microwave, stove and cooktop). Stock up at the Saturday morning farmer's market in downtown Covington, pick up good wine at Acquistipace and spend the weekend cooking fresh and relaxing.

Come relax in the Modern Cabin. You're a few blocks from the Tammany Trace & walking/biking distance to the Abita Brewery tour, Downtown Abita Springs, and much more. The Cabin has a daybed with a Tempurpedic mattress, an air mattress (for up to 2 guests), Wifi, TV, a Countertop Burner for cooking/coffee, etc. There's so much to do in St. Tammany (all included in the guidebook) & the Cabin is central to everything. The main reason to book this listing is to be within walking/biking distance of Downtown Abita Springs, the Abita Brewery tour, the 32 mile Tammany Trace and being able to bike to Covington, Mandeville, and Slidell on it and to also have an easy drive to Global Wildlife Center, tubing down the Bogue Chitto River, hiking/mountain Biking in Bogue Chitto State Park, swimming at the beach or hiking at Fontainebleau State Park, etc.

While everything is thoroughly cleaned, there may be a small imperfection on a towel or blanket, in the paint or flooring, etc. The cabin is professionally photographed but it should be noted that it is a small shipping container cabin so please look at the photos closely and also note that there are large exterior doors on it that typically remain open while staying in the cabin while tempered doors act as the actual front door during your stay. This is a unique listing with a unique entrance so we ask that you please consider everything mentioned above before booking so you can have the best experience possible staying with us. Our Guest House sits behind our historic home in a lovely residential neighborhood. It is in walking distance to our historic downtown with many galleries, shops, and restaurants. We are just 40 minutes from New Orleans over the the Causeway Bridge. Our Guest House is done with a New Orleans feel. Please note that we are able to rent only on a monthly basis due to our city's short term rental restrictions so the price that you see for a nightly rate reflects the monthly rate.

The space
The Guest House is well appointed with a comfortable living area including a kitchen which has granite counter tops and a dishwasher and everything you need to make a true Louisiana meal. We have strived to have special thoughtful touches, such as locally made soaps in the bathroom as well as little treats in the kitchen. We start you out with some essential supplies and some complimentary food. The bed is reported as being very comfortable and the bathroom reflects a spa feel.

In addition to the Guest House you will have access to the patio between the Guest House and our home and the rest of the yard with the pergola and gardens.

Come retreat on our peaceful 2.5 acres… quiet and serene but just minutes from lots of local food and businesses. Just off I-55, 5 mins from SLU and less than 10 to downtown Hammond. You can get the best of both worlds in our modern fully renovated 28 ft RV, which is tucked away on the side of the property and perfect for 2-4 people. Amenities include:Queen bed, jackknife sofa in living room, outdoor patio & fire pit, smart tv, internet, AC, hot water and stove top/microwave for cooking.

The space
The restful RV is a 2008 28 ft Hi-LO classic which was recently fully renovated to give a bright modern feel. It is pretty spacious with a separate bedroom area and bathroom that divides the bedroom from the main dining/living room. We've spent a lot of time on Airbnbs and have tried our best to provide the type of amenities that we would hope for in a stay (ample kitchen items, extra toiletries, cozy bedding). The space also includes an outdoor patio with string lights to enjoy during evenings.

Guests have access to the yard adjacent to the RV which includes the patio and fire pit areas.

Very cozy and feels like home. Everything you need from cooking, washing clothes, or enjoying some TV for the evening. Family friendly neighborhood that is also safe. Far from the city chaos, but close enough to still enjoy and local restaurants and shopping. We're about 1 hour from New Orleans, 45 minutes from Baton Rouge, and about 25 minutes from Covington. We are located about 7 minutes from Hammond and Ponchatoula.

The space
The bakery cottage your home away from home. Fully furnished so you can function for your everyday needs. It has pots and pans, cookware, dishes and glasses. There is a coffee pot, toaster, mixer, can opener, along with a double sink, double oven, and a double hot plate, and a washer and dryer. also included is bath towels, wash rags and bed linens, dish rags and dish towels. It’s also furnished with bath products, dish soap and washing machine machine pods and dryer sheets, along with paper towels and toilet paper.

The bed is a queen size. The tv is a smart tv with streaming services. Internet is also provided.

Guest access
The Bakery Cottage is 100% yours for the stay. You also have access to the backyard. There is a swing glider to sit on under the carport.

The parking spot for guest is in my driveway but park close to the end of the driveway so I can still get in and out of my carport. If this is confusing I’ll clarify closer to your arrival time.
