The cabin is situated; 20 minutes to Blue Ridge (Lake Blue Ridge)and 10 min to Blairsville and 25 minutes to Hiawassee (Lake Chatuge) and 20 minutes to Murphy N.C. and 45 minutes to Helen GA.

4 bedroom/3 bath/ 4 large porches, cabin situated on Lake Nottely with a deep water private covered dock. The 1.5 acre lot allows for plenty of parking and privacy!

Our lake home is located minutes from downtown Blairsville, close to Vogel State Park, Desoto Falls, Brasstown Bald, Helen Georgia, downtown Blue Ridge, and the Ace Sweepstakes Casino in Murphy, NC. In the area are 8 waterfalls and plenty of hiking including the Appalachian trail.

After a day full of fun on the lake or exploring the many waterfalls and hiking trails nearby, come home to a family gathering on the large BBQ porch while enjoying the lake views. Wind down in the hot tub, or play a game of pool!
Although our dock is situated on deep water, the lake is controlled by a dam. After Labor Day til May, the water level on the lake is much lower than in the spring and summer months but still very deep.
The main level boasts large windows overlooking the lake. The living room with cable TV/Netflix/Amazon Prime is open to the kitchen and dining room with seating for plenty. Three bedrooms are located on this level along with two bathrooms. In the bedrooms on this level, you will find 1 queen bed and 1 king bed and a room with two twins. You can step onto any of the four covered porches to pass the afternoon in a lounge chair, hammock, or hot tub.

The lower level is a great place to hang out with the family. It is equipped with a bar, a pool table, and cable TV. On this level you will also find one bedroom with a huge walk in shower and a comfy king bed. Step outside to a covered porch with a hot tub.

If you are not bringing a boat of your own, you have the option of renting one from multiple places along the lake. The town of Blairsville and Blue Ridge are both very charming and have many dining and entertainment options for your convenience. - "A brief 3 day stay with our dogs from Florida looking at vacation homes. Looked for something convenient and close to town to our realtor. Also allowed our 3 dogs which was extremely nice. Road easy to drive on and houses around but very quiet. Was able to walk dogs down the road not worried about traffic. It does have a side fenced yard which was a reason I rented it, but was really muddy and smaller than expected so dogs couldn’t really explore like I thought, but otherwise would definitely recommend and stay here again when we come to visit being we didn’t find a home this time around."

Perfect mountain get-a-way less than 2 hours north of Atlanta. Nestled away between the Chattahoochee National Forest and Lake Nottley sits our 2 bedroom, 1 full-bath cabin. Located just 10 minutes from Blairsville and 30 minutes from Murphy, NC.

Things to do near the cabin: boating, hunting and fishing, boat and jet ski rentals, biking both road and mountain, kayaking, hiking, and horse back riding a mile from the house. There are several Georgia State Parks close by the cabin including Brasstown Bald and Vogel. In addition, there is the newly opened Harrah's Casino in nearby Murphy, NC.

Our cabin offers all of the modern conveniences (dishwasher, Internet, cable TV, and an outdoor grill). Our screened in outdoor patio is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee and a good book while our outdoor deck offers prime star gazing and outdoor dining options. Our full kitchen includes all modern appliances and the ever important coffee pot.

We have owned the cabin for several years and have just now started renting it out to others as we feel our little slice of the mountains should be shared with others. We have two young children who for years have gone off to explore in the woods to find all sorts of interesting plants, insects, trees and animals. They love to go swimming in Lake Nottely which can easily be accessed through a short walk in the woods.

For those of you who own kayaks, canoes, or boats, feel free to bring your vessel and gear and enjoy a day out on the lake. Lake Nottely is known for its stripper and catfish and our kids often catch small white bass with live worms from the banks. Good sunny spots with wind are great fishing spots up there. In addition, please feel free to harvest nice worms from our garden area.

UPDATE: The $30K shoreline investment is completed!! Lots of grading, a concrete ramp to the dock, widening of the dock, new ramp to dock with handrails, and lots of granite "rip rap" along the shoreline has been installed. Hoping to build a unique kayak launching area soon! Getting to and from the dock will be much safer and easier. We also added new bunk beds in the upstairs bedroom. Plus a couch and game table in the basement replacing the treadmill and weight machine. See new pictures!

Union County, GA STR License # 012060 - The Nottely Nest could be your perfect getaway, with a year round deep water dock. From the moment you walk in, you will see panaramic mountain and lake views from most every room. You can even see the highest point in GA - Brasstown Bald. Lake Nottely is not your typical “close to Atlanta” lake. It is a TVA mountain lake with the majority of the shoreline owned by the US Forest Service. Some of the best fishing in the Southeast - known for Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Black Crappy.

We have a fantastic hot tub with a view, right outside the porch doors for those chilly nights. A double Kayak and Paddle Board are also provided.

Nottely Marina is closed from Oct. 31 - March. If you need gas from the marina, you can call 24 hours in advance, and they will try to arrange a meeting. 706-745-3638.

We are the 2nd to last house on a dead-end street. This is a great quiet neighborhood with considerate year round residents on both sides. Our house is bigger than it looks.

Bedding and mattresses are all very comfortable (we know how important this is!). Smart TV's in every room.

The Main floor:

- Boasts sweeping views, and a generous open floor plan/great room. The well equipped Kitchen has an island with seating for 4. The appliances are stainless steel and the countertops are granite. This is a "Cook's Kitchen" with a walk-in pantry (new washer/dryer) and utility sink. There is a mounted TV for game day.

- The Dining Room table seats 10 with a lovely rustic table and chairs.

- The Living room has a sectional couch and a stone surround wood burning fireplace. There is also a 55" TV.

- The main floor Primary Bedroom has a King sized bed, large TV, en-suite Master Bath (heated floor, separate Jacuzzi tub, double vanity with granite countertop, custom tile shower with body sprays and rain showerhead), and a walk-in closet. This bedroom opens up to the screened in porch for fabulous morning views.

- Bedroom 2 - Queen bed attached to a full bathroom (also has an entrance to the common area) with mounted TV. Opens up to the screened porch for the same spectacular views.

- The Screened-in porch (also screened under the flooring to keep the bugs out) - 600 sqft of extended living area. There is a table that seats six, 3 chaise lounges, a wooden porch swing, and a rocking chair.

On the Downstairs level:

- There is a large recreation room with a game table (and plenty of board games), compact ping-pong table, a foosball table, magnetic darts, a sofa and love seat, and a 55" TV.

- A sleeping niche with full sized double bunk beds. There are cubbies for each bed, and charging stations for the top and bottom bunks. There is also individual lights and a curtain for privacy.

- Downstairs common area Bathroom - brand new, custom tile shower, modern vanity with quartz countertop, and hooks for many towels.

- The Downstairs Primary bedroom has a mounted TV, King sized bed with walk-in closet and en-suite bath (stand-up tiled shower and single vanity). The bedroom opens up to the open air porch, and has perhaps the best views from the bed.

- Bedroom 4 (the red room) with mounted TV - has 2 sets of full sized beds and a twin bed.

- Downstairs Deck - 600 sqft of unobstructed open air views, cornhole game, outdoor furniture (sofa, chairs, 2 chaise loungers), and a hot tub where you can relax and look out at the lake.

Ground level (below the downstairs level):

- 600 sqft of mulched patio area. perfect for horseshoes, corn hole, or just hanging out.

Access to the lake:

- This is a deep water lot, so the hill is rather steep. We have taken great pains to make this as moderate as possible.

- Concrete walkways traverse the hill to small sets of steps.

The Dock:

We have a Double Decker Aluminum dock with a single slip and tie-ons. This dock is so fun! Tandem Kayak and Stand Up Paddle Boards are available for your use.

***The lake levels go down significantly outside of season. Full Pool is approximately mid April - August. The lake levels drop up to 14 feet off season. We are fortunate enough to have deep water for your year round enjoyment. The end of the dock is around 30’ deep with full pool.

Our insurance requires us to get signed liability waivers from all adults, specifically for the amenities.

It is common practice in the area to let dogs roam off leash. There are dogs in the neighborhood owned by the neighbors that have always been friendly to us.

If you are planning to bring a dog, please contact us in regards to easy walking trails.

We are in a great location on the lake just 5 minutes to town. We have provided an attractions binder to illustrate some of the many popular activities in the area. In addition to anything lake related, there are many great restaurants and shops just a couple miles away, including: a large Ingles grocery store (with Starbucks), Home Depot, Walmart, Chick-fil-A, pizza, amazing BBQ, seafood, Mexican, Cuban, Japanese fusion, tacos, subs, Grandaddy Mimm's Distilling Co and many more. Butternut Creek Golf Course is just down the road and close by is Meeks Park (tennis, basketball, athletic fields, hiking trails, Frisbee golf, canoe launch for Nottely River). Blairsville also has a bowling alley and movie theater.

Nottely Marina is within sight of our dock, and the owners are wonderfully friendly.

We are about 15 miles from the Appalachian Trail and many scenic hikes and waterfalls. There are also Horseback riding stables nearby.

Lake Nottely is a TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) lake that is lowered between Labor Day and Memorial Day for the winter months. While the water becomes shallow, these times are not good for boating, however fishing, rafting, kayaking and paddle boarding are still activities to be enjoyed. There are also many woods around the cabin to enjoy or nearby hikes for foliage scenery.

After a fun day of sightseeing, hiking, fishing, boating, or swimming, you can BBQ on the charcoal grill, relax on the covered dock, roast smores over a camp fire, shoot a game of pool, or unwind on the large back porch in a rocking chair.

Take advantage of our upgraded kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and smooth-surface cook top. Then sit beside the fireplace, settle down with a good book and enjoy the warmth given off by the flames...or you can play a game of pool or shuffleboard and watch your favorite show on one of the three TVs.

Cane Creek Lodge is equipped with free WiFi, washer/dryer, and a cable TV on each level. On the main level you will find the master bedroom with king bed and luxurious ensuite bathroom.

The open concept living room, kitchen and dining on the main level allow everyone to gather together. The well stocked kitchen incudes a Keurig coffee maker as well as an 8 cup coffee maker with filters provided. A large gas grill allows for outdoor cooking. A queen bedroom, bunk bedroom, and a full bath are on this level. Upstairs, you will find two king master suites. Downstairs, a private king bedroom, bathroom, hang out area, foosball and ping pong table provide fun memories. Enjoy the beautiful lake views from either of two back porches that span the entire width of the home. The large hot tub is waiting on the basement porch. For safety, security cameras are placed at the front and back doors. There are five televisions for entertainment. The beautiful lawn leads to the fire pit, 4 kayaks and a new aluminum dock. A JC tritoon boat is available for rental from mid April to mid September according to lake levels. This rental is through oasis boating. The rental is $100 per day of your stay with no charge for check in/check out day with a $500 security deposit. Boat rental is optional and not required for home rental. If you bring your own boat, the boat launch is only one half mile away.
