Rent one room or rent the whole wing! We live in the south wing, separated from this wing. 5 finished bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with 3 showers, a full kitchen, lounge, laundry room, a garden, chickens, a pond out back, and a pack n play already set up for you if you need it.
There is a handicap-accessible shower but there are a couple of steps you need to take to get into the building. Everything is on one floor, except for the laundry room. There are 3 full beds and 3 twin beds to choose from.

Two bedrooms, one queen bed and one twin in this upstairs apartment. There is a half bath (toilet and sink) attached to one bedroom. The shower is on a separate level than the apartment, but it is still private for only you to use! This genteel old lady was built in 1842 and she has good bones! The house is in the middle of all that historic Nauvoo has to offer, with the added benefit of being across the street from Dollar General and Casey's pizza. As with most old houses, there is one bathroom which is clean and spacious and on the ground floor. All of the furnishings are new. There is a large and inviting living room with plenty of space to spread out. There are three bedrooms - one very large - that are all tastefully furnished and have new mattresses. The biggest bedroom can hold more sleepers if needed. The smallest bedroom (the 'Toblerone' room) is ideal for our littlest guests with its quirky shape and fort-like possibilities. There is an outside deck where you can watch life go by but perhaps not in the winter. There is a laundry room on the main floor. There are two parking spaces at the back. On a more sentimental note, there are some original Nauvoo temple stones incorporated into the building as door lintels and windowsills. A gentle reminder that there is no smoking, vaping, alcohol or drugs permitted. Please do not bring your pets. Please note that this is an old house. The stairs are steep and may not suit people who have stability issues and the bedrooms and single bathroom are not on the same floor.

- "We absolutely loved staying in this pioneer house decorated with antiques. It was a very unique experience and my kids thought it was so fun. The modern kitchen and bath amenities and A/C made it very comfortable. The host was responsive and helpful. The only suggestion I have is to change the number of people it sleeps to 5 - two in the master and three in the kids room. If you count the couch downstairs or the blowup mattress or the cot then you could say 6 but I think that would be the max. The little bed in the hall would only work for a toddler."

Situated along the banks of the Mighty Mississippi just a short drive from Nauvoo, IL, this cute cabin is just the place for you if your ideal day consists of exploring outdoors during the day and resting your weary head at night. Nestled in the middle of nature, this cozy, non-smoking cabin is small, but it has everything you will need including a fully equipped kitchen and full-sized bathroom. You will feel like you are camping, but with more amenities including a new window air conditioning unit. The cabin can comfortably sleep four people, but it will accommodate up to six on the new mattresses and couches. If the steep driveway is a problem, you are welcome to park at the bottom of the hill.

Because there is no TV or internet, you will have plenty of time to explore the grounds. As long as the Mississippi River is not too high, you can spend the day on the beach. Be sure to look for eagles because there is a bald eagle's nest nearby. If you simply want to relax with a good book while the kids play and explore, you will be able to do that on the new deck. With Nauvoo being so close, you could also explore the many attractions in town before heading back to the peaceful riverfront setting. At night, enjoy building a bonfire on the beach using the occasional driftwood that washes up when the river is high.

This is an uninsulated cabin in the woods. More like camping than a hotel. Please look through all the pictures before booking. If you have dust, mold, or pollen allergies and would not camp outside because of them this will not work for you.

- "Beautiful cabin with a great view. Hostess Rebecca is wonderful to work with." - "When I stayed here the rental was around $50 on a weekday, plus the cleaning fee. This I think is priced correctly for what it is. You are paying for the location right on the Mississippi with a private beach. The cabin is modest, and will meet basic needs but is by no means going to be a luxury rental. If you set your expectations to the description, you will not be disappointed. Had this cabin been priced over $100 a night I might have given a different star rating. What the cabin is like: Small, but liveable. We were going to have 4 people stay but ended up we only had 2. Cabin was PLENTY big for two people. 4 might have been a little bit crowded but there is PLENTY of outdoor space... so perhaps not. The cabin has a full (but small) kitchen. Sink, microwave, fridge and stove. I didn't ever find an oven mitt - so I used a towel when I reheated some food in the oven. Had basic silverware and plates, pots and pans. I wish there would have been tin foil on hand, but no big deal! No laundry at this cabin. There is a shower tub combo in the bathroom, there is a set of bunkbeds on one end of the cabin and a full size bed on the other. A couch could also serve as a bed, and there is an empty loft area, that could be slept in if you had an air mattress handy. The window air conditioner will keep the cabin cool unless it's sweltering out. Didn't make too much noise - was pleasantly surprised. Door locks and unlocks with a code, felt very secure here. no issues! There are no curtains on the front windows of the cabin that face the river. This was no big deal since no houses are in the way and no one drove down the road, very remote location after all. There were curtains on the sides of the cabin to block the view of any neighbors. We did find some random bugs in the cabin, but this was not unexpected. You are in the middle of nowhere and it's bound to happen. I was surprised there were not more actually. There is a fire pit and I wished I would have had chairs along I would have enjoyed that - perhaps next time. For those less squeamish, there were some deck chairs on the porch and plastic chairs in the yard but, they were covered in spiders and cobwebs, so I didn't want to clear them off. Took a nice walk in the evening and at sunrise down the road, absolutely great! There was even a small waterfall just up the road that was really nice."

We appreciated having 3 large beds in the home plus a sofa bed. The property itself is older, but the house inside is updated. I was concerned about the ceiling fan being too close to the upper bunk bed, so we just didn't use the ceiling fan, but it wasn't needed since several AC units in the apartment kept the house very cool on hot summer days. I would suggest replacing the ceiling fan with a normal light fixture for safety and switching to a brighter light bulb in the master bedroom. Kitchen is nice. Unit is on top floor, so you need to climb stairs to get to the apartment. We enjoyed watching the fireflies from the upper balcony at night. Place looked just like the pictures. We would stay here again."

The open concept of this property with large deck, privacy fenced in yard, and large 1 car garage (it's actually a 2 car, but only 1 stall is available) make it ideal for almost any occasion. Whether you are in town for a wedding, fishing tournament, hunting season, Bald Eagle watching, visiting Nauvoo (5 minute flight if you're a crow or 30 minute drive in a car), or just enjoying one of the greatest states in the nation, this property in historic Montrose will not disappoint. It's physically located walking distance from several parks, ice cream shop, local watering hole and eatery, and boat ramp.

There are security cameras located in the garage, the fenced in yard, and under the garage overhang looking at the backdoor and deck area. Curious what they see? The monitor for the cameras is in the house and available to view live. Please do not select "alarm" on the cameras. It is loud and the the neighbors won't appreciate it. There are also 2 cameras in the basement pointing straight down at the sump pumps to alert the owner if there is water in the basement. There hasn't been water since June 2023. If these are unacceptable, I can remove the battery during your stay as long as you check the basement if/when it rains. 2 of the other cameras on the monitor are physically located at 300 Spruce Street in a gymnasium.

Garage: I store a few items in the garage I may need access to during your stay. If so, I will reach out to let you know and I will enter from the alleyway. You won't even know I'm there.

Kayaks: Please let me know when you book your stay if you plan to use the complimentary kayaks. I will want to make sure they are in the garage along with appropriate life jackets.

Sleeping 8: There are 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, a full size futon, and only 1 bathroom. The house can accommodate 8, but it is tight. Plan accordingly.

Welcome to the newly remodeled Whitney Manor, located in Nauvoo, Illinois. Our newly remodeled lodging offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience for your stay. The Manor is located on the Main Street of Mullholland. Here our lodging provides easy access to everything Nauvoo has to offer. You are within walkable distance between both downtown Nauvoo and the temple, as well as a one mile walk to historic Nauvoo and the famous Nauvoo pageants.

The Space: The space is a two bedroom, one bath apartment equipped with a living room and kitchen. The master bedroom is furnished with a Full XL size bed, the second bedroom is furnished with a full-over-full bunk bed. Both bedrooms include a closet. The open concept layout includes a living area and kitchen that creates a seamless and spacious environment where cooking, dining, and relaxation can blend together.

Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create a delicious meal. Modern appliances include a refrigerator, freezer, electric stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, slow cooker, blender, toaster, cooking basics as well as dishware and flatware.

Living Area: Electric fireplace, Smart TV/ Roku, sofa sleeper, table and chairs.

Amenities: Parking, high speed Wi-Fi, towels and linens, mini split air conditioning and heating in each room, complimentary toiletries.

General: This apartment is located at the front of the building. There are five steps that lead up to the door, there is also access via a wheelchair ramp. Located 7 miles south of New London, 16 miles southeast from Mt Pleasant, and 14 miles west of Burlington, you will find us. Back in the field drive is our shouse we built in 2016. Nestled next to Geode State Park-you can literally step across the property line and be on the walking trail at Geode State Park. Surrounded by wildlife, trees, hills, and fields, you can relax and enjoy the quiet countryside here. Come on in the door and climb the stairs to our guest space.

The space
We offer self check-in with the door key pad lock. Come on inside and climb the stairs to our private guest space on the upper level of our home where you can enjoy the private space except for a locked storage room. We offer 3 locking bedrooms with extra pillows and blankets provided. A desk is available in the quiet east room for working, putting together a puzzle and a rocking chair for quiet time and reading. Enjoy the sofa, loveseat and recliner in the common area. Wi-fi is available after arrival for normal web browsing, and emails. Enjoy the large room with a TV for watching Netflix or movies, with a dining/kitchenette area where we offer a table, full size refrigerator, microwave, George Foreman indoor grill, coffee maker, crockpot, dishes, silverware, extra virgin olive oil, a few seasonings, salt & pepper and toaster. The BBQ grill under the pavilion is available upon request. Games and puzzles are available in the coffee table and hutch. Enjoy relaxing, watching tv or visit over a cup of coffee. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is provided. Also available upon request for your little ones is a fold away cot, pack and play, booster seat and a highchair upon request. You will share the full bathroom with a tub/shower with others in your group and have access to the "man cave" half bath in the garage down the hall. In the event of severe weather, there is a secure storm shelter for everyone. It is located in the garage, turn left at the base of the stairs then take 1st right and door is on the left. Enjoy the firepit area, pavilion, peaceful pond views and Iowa's beautiful sunsets. Jump on the walking path around Geode Lake at the NE end of our property, yep, it's that easy. The walking path is right outside the gate. The full loop walking path around the Lake is about 7 1/2 to 8 miles. Geode offers fishing, kayaking, camping, swimming at the beach with a play area for children, picnicking, hiking or biking on the walking path.

Guest access
Guests have use of the upper level except for the locked storage room. Feel free to relax under the pavilion and the covered porch on the front of the house.

During your stay
We enjoy meeting and visiting with our guests, but want you to have as much privacy as you would like. You will have the private upper level to yourselves while our private living space is on the lower main floor so we may pass one another coming or going in the garage or outside. Feel free to contact us by text, phone call or knock on the door in the garage if you need anything or have questions.

Other things to note
Just a note that we do use a water softner. This is Iowa and living next to the woods, you may see insects, bugs, and other critters. No refund will be given if you see any of these. We do have routine Pest control treatments.

The Whitetail Lodge sleeps 27 and is an ideal setting for multiple family vacations, reunions or business retreats. Nestled in the woods, the views are stunning - a tranquil private setting for your event. Our spacious rooms include furnishings in warm finishes to make you feel at home. We don't consider you lodgers, you are our guests!

The space
LIVING - Our main floor great room is configured to comfortably accommodate a large number of people. The sitting areas in our spacious rooms have been outfitted with substantial furnishings in warm finishes. The placement creates relaxed groupings for conversation. The great room features a remote controlled large screen tv with DISH network for your viewing pleasure. Seasonal sport channels are available upon request. The true charm of the lodge is in the little details. Our lodge is lavishly furnished with elegant, comfortable accoutrements, and decorated as though it were your home.

The lower level has the perfect recreation area. An expansive rec room has comfortable seating with a large screen tv. A large table lends itself to cards or shuffle board. The space houses billiards, ping pong, pool, and foosball tables. There is room to spread out for other activities as well. When the weather is nice, the wrap around deck is a great place to congregate. We provide casual seating, tables for fresh air meals, and gas grills for your convenience. There are also picnic tables interspersed in the surrounding woods and any number of paths and trails that meander to a variety of scenic riverside views.

DINING - Our modern kitchen features electric appliances and every gadget necessary to create meals for a sizable crowd, but is open to the great room so the cook isn’t isolated. The space features a formal dining area with seating for 10, as well as casual eating nooks to seat another 6, and a card table for 6 more. TV trays and tables are conveniently available for serving snacks. We also have 3 high chairs available for the little ones. Downstairs, the card table converts into dining for 4, and outside we have picnic tables and deck sets to feed up to 60.

SLEEPING - Three generous suites each feature two queen beds and each have a private en suite bath with his and her sinks and a spacious walk-in shower. Another suite features 3 sets of twin bunk beds to sleep six, is delightfully decorated with a woodsy hunting theme and has its own bath with walk-in shower. Laundry facilities are conveniently located with detergent/softener supplied. The lower level has a generous camp-style sleeping barrack furnished with nine twin beds, which is close to two restrooms with showers.

We want your visit to the lodge to be an exceptional experience. We don’t think of lodgers as clients, rather we consider them guests.

Our kitchen is furnished with lots of gadgets, main floor laundry comes with supplies, all sleeping linens and bath towels are provided, iron and ironing board on site, rec room games have paddles, cues & balls, etc.

Other things to note
Event accommodations include a refurbished vintage horse barn which will seat 200 indoors, plus additional outdoor seating under the lean-to, and a green space adjacent for tents to plate parties of 400. A reception hall for small, intimate events with indoor seating up to 80. A picturesque pond makes an extraordinary backdrop for an exchange of vows and our timeless pergola adds a striking piece of elegance to the natural setting.
