This historic 1910 farmhouse is very well maintained with original beautiful hardwood floors, woodwork, built-ins and windows, situated on 4.5 acres less than 1.5 miles from downtown Marion and on the edge of Cedar Rapids. In town for a sporting event? The property is 10 minutes from Tuma Soccer Complex and Prospects Meadows. There are lots of trees and the privacy will make you forget you are still in the city. The Boyson Trail is accessible through the neighborhood across Boyson Rd.

The parlor with its antique décor will make you feel like you have been transported back to the early 20th century. When you are ready to return to the 21st century the den is decked out with comfy couches, a big screen TV and a real wood burning fireplace, high speed wireless Internet is available throughout the house.

Four spacious bedrooms one queen, two kings, and a room setup for the kids with a bunk bed (twin over full with a trundle twin). All bedrooms are on the second floor.

Full kitchen with everything you need to make a home cooked meal. Dishwasher, electric stove top, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, and coffee maker.
You have full access to the house. The third floor attic is open but unfurnished.

You are free to explore the 4.5 acre property during your stay. The drive is ‘L’ shaped with two entrances and plenty of parking. There is a large fenced in area, concrete pad with fire pit, original 1910 barn and renovated stable. The stable is a wide open 1000 sq ft space with a wood burning heater and LP heat. Contact the host if you would be interested in renting this space. The barn is currently under renovations and off limits to guests. If you would like a tour, contact the host and we will do our best to accommodate.

- "Had an awesome time spending the weekend here. Tim was very responsive when we had an issue checking in and came right over to help. The place is freshly remodeled (place was bought in May 2023 and flipped). Tim thought of everything here! The kitchen is well stocked with 3 types of coffee makers, tea pot, plus usual wares. They also have a nutribullet, crockpot & high chair (for those with kiddos!). Bathroom was lovely, with plenty of towels, TP, plus a small thing of women’s toiletries in case of emergency. Also a flat iron & blow dryer incase you forget yours! We got the best sleep we ever had here! We made sure to snap a picture of the bed so we can buy one when we’re in the market for a new bed. Comfortable sheets/bedding/pillows. There’s a third “bedroom” with a pack-n-play and some kids toys and an office space. Tons of fun books to look through, and a basement with foosball and a game table. Backyard was lovely for our dog! Fenced in & they have a garbage can, dog bags, and a scooper for use. An amazing fire pit (so sad we couldn’t use it, as it was only 20 degrees!) If we’re ever back in town we’ll definitely stay here again. Great access to food, safe and quiet neighborhood, and right off of rt380."

This Historic Home has so much charm and character! You will love the focal point living room with it's luscious wood floors and large windows for plenty of natural light. The dining room is just off to one side and welcome guests with a wonderful atmosphere. The kitchen is sure to impress with the oversized space, counter space, stainless steel appliances, tiled flooring and updated cabinets.

There are 4 bedrooms on the upper level with one full size updated bathroom. The conveniently located main level full bathroom has been recently updated with modern features. The lower level finished space is a great place to hang out with friends for extra privacy. Spend your summer evenings in the back yard by the fire-pit or enjoy the sunsets under the cover of the front porch. There are also two spacious decks perfect for outdoor leisure as well. A large fenced backyard for your fur babies as well.

No-smoking Policy:
This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

Pets Policy:
WELL BEHAVED pets are welcome with a separate nonrefundable pet fee of $150 per 2 pets per stay.

Occupancy Limits:
Our house rates are based on 2 guests and we can accommodate up to 10 for additional fees. Please be honest and accurate about how many guests are staying when you book. The 3rd through 10th guests are $10 extra per guest per night. At no time the total occupancy should exceed 10 people.

No events, parties, or large gatherings:
Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees. Booking a stay with 10 people but inviting additional guests to host a family reunion, baby shower, graduation party, bachelor/bachelorette party, wedding shower, etc. is considered an event and will charged extra.

- There are NO REFUNDS allowed for Weather, Natural Disasters, Power Outages, and other circumstances that are beyond our control.

This is a bright, roomy and modern style house. Set in a quiet Center Point neighborhood. Just off of interstate 380, with a 30 minute drive to Cedar Rapids, Vinton, Shellsberg, Palo or Independence, & 45 minutes to Waterloo/Cedar Falls. With 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 living rooms, pool table, full kitchen, backyard, deck and fenced in yard. Each bedroom has a different type of mattress, this allows guests to choose the room they feel the bed matches their sleeping preferences. We have a meeting room that can be used for sewing, (including a cutting table, design wall, & pressing station) scrap booking, or crafting with friends or family. Also good for small retreats or study groups. Backyard deck has cushioned wicker set, and grill for outdoor entertaining. There is also a hi chair, pack-n-play, and book, toy & game closet for use. Large screened-in porch overlooking the river has a patio set that can sit 6 people , nice firepit just outside the cabin.

The Main Cabin offers 1 room that can sleep up to 4 people: 1 king bed, one sectional couch that opens into a full bed, and an ottoman that opens into a twin bed. Dining table can sit 4 people. Bathroom offers walk-in shower and stackable Washer/Dryer.

The Second Cabin can also sleep up to 4 people: 1 king bed and 1 sleeper couch that opens into a full bed. Second Cabin also has a fridge and a wood burning fireplace. No running water or bathroom available in the second cabin. All guests will have to use the only bathroom in the Main Cabin.

There is an RV pad with RV hookups next to the cabin. Electrical outlet is 120V, 30A. Please let us know what are your needs and we could either put an RV there for you or bring your own. Extra charges apply ($35 per day if you bring an RV).

The Second Cabin has no bathroom or running water. All gests will need to use the only bathroom in the Main Cabin.

Cellular reception is spotty in the area, some carriers do better than others. While at the cabin it is recommended to connect to the Wi-Fi and enable Wi-Fi calling on your smartphone.

No hunting or discharging of firearms allowed.

For our long-term guests, we're pleased to offer house cleaning services during your stay. This optional service is provided at cost, allowing you to enjoy a consistently clean and comfortable home environment throughout your visit.

D&E Farm is located across the street from the cabin. Before you go, please call or text Liz at the number on the farm pictures to see if she is available for a quick farm tour or to buy fresh farm eggs. You can see and pet some animals (bunnies, goats, guineapigs), and see many different birds, including ducks, turkeys, chickens, peacocks, swans and more.

There is no charge for the farm visit, but availability is not guaranteed as the farm is not affiliated with the cabin. Liz and her family are very friendly and try their best to accommodate visitors, while still running the farm. Sometimes they have animal treats for sale.

Many of the farm birds are free-ranging, so you might see them crossing the street for a visit. There are also a few livestock guard dogs on the farm. They have no collars so they don't get caught on fences when chasing predators. The dogs are friendly, but please don't feed them, when they come visiting the cabin, as they need to maintain a certain diet.

- "What great cabins! Everything was exactly as pictured and we were pleasantly surprised by just how nice (dare I say luxurious?) everything felt once we arrived. The place was sparkling clean and welcoming, with so many small thoughtful touches. The beds were soft and comfy, there were plenty of extra blankets, and the cupboards were fully stocked with all kinds of essentials including cookware and wineglasses :) Honestly, I may come back here without the kids for a nice weekend away with my husband! Some hiking during the day and then snuggling into the soft king bed and watching our favorite shows on the giant TV (smart TV so you can log into your own accounts)? Yes please. Location is very rural, and we enjoyed the drive in at harvest time. It’s an easy drive to both Backbone and Pictured Rocks and I highly recommend both. There’s also good nature watching at the cabin - the first morning I woke to find a large flock of turkeys parading by the deck. As noted, there’s only one bathroom, but we managed just fine. The only disappointing thing is that we stayed at the end of a long dry summer and the river was nowhere to be found. We still enjoyed the spectacular deck, screened porch, and fire ring even without the river view."
