After the first night I felt very safe with them. Its easy to change to local currency at the hostal. They can arrange transfers to the airport. There is no lift so if you don't like stairs then you should not stay there. If I ever go back to Cuba, then I'll stay there again (I was Ok with the stairs). The people of Cuba are very friendly. The internet was a bit of a hindrance ,I know Cuba isn't know for great internet, however there were simple websites I couldn't access such as the Viazul one to book bus tickets. Meaning I had to walk to the bus station to get a ticket instead. That's quite an essential site when you're here to travel. Literally the only thing that let me down was the fact the listing states they speak Spanish and English. Which is perfect cos sadly I don't speak Spanish. However this wasn't so useful. I was checked in and greeted by two staff, the one that showed me the room spoke to me in Spanish despite me saying I didn't know it, understandably she doesn't speak English. So I've no idea what she was saying about the room or anything. She was trying to get me to go in the bathroom and was very insistent but I don't know what she wanted me to do. As this was my first visit to Cuba I didn't know where anything was, the staff member I spoke to in the morning had a better grasp of English but not much better. Noone seemed to know Havana from a tourist perspective so couldn't answer any of my questions. I was trying to book a train to travel across the island and noone there knew how to do this or where to go. That was the case for all the enquiries I had as a tourist. Also I couldn't get my head around the conversion of money in Cuba and the staff member got quite impatient with me about that. "

Probably the best highlight of the room was the shower! All of the amenities were exactly as advertised as well. Convenient location in Central Habana so that you can walk to some places down the main (and well-lit in the evening) road, we always felt 100% safe and were for the most part not pestered like in Old Habana. Short cab ride to Old Habana though to go out in that area is very convenient too. They offered currency exchange for us, although not the best rate we received while there. The mini fridge (water, local beer, soda, wine) was convenient for when the shops around were closed, but you'll of course pay for the convenience. The 8$ breakfast is an absolute FEAST! And delicious, we were served multiple fruits that we had never had before. We also used the laundry service while we were there, and when we tried to ask how much, the woman tried to tell us not to pay at all! Of course we insisted though. Other than Andy and Tania, there were two others who helped around the place with cleaning/cooking/laundry, and they were all so friendly. It really made the stay special. We stayed for a full two weeks and enjoyed the entire thing, no exceptions. "

WIFi was free and ok for Havana. The only negative that has nothing to do with this apartment is the fact the building itself did not have stairs. Maybe I didn’t see it. I was worried about a blackout and the lights went out and the elevator was malfunction. Or in the case of an emergency, there was no escape route. This is Havana and I’m sure building codes were different from the US. In all I loved the area. It was quiet and save and very close to the Malecón. I enjoyed taking daily walks there. "

Casa Daisy y Rafa, is a family house, located in San Rafael Street No. 406 3rd floor, E / MANRIQUE and CAMPANARIO, offers private rooms, small, air-conditioned and with the necessary comfort for a pleasant stay. The front view of the room is amazing, well worth the 3 flights of stairs. It is an excellent location on the lively Calle San Rafael, in a great atmosphere. It is a good walking distance to Old Havana (about 6 blocks). Stay here!

The place is very central, we are in Calle SAN RAFAEL No.406 (3rd floor ALTOS) E / MANRIQUE AND CAMPANARIO, in Centro Habana, which makes it easier to access from different places in Havana and the arrival to the place. The room is simple and small, but very comfortable, heated, with a cold bar. It has a bathroom shared with other guests with cold and hot water. The hosts are always aware that they do not lack anything to make them feel comfortable during their stay in Cuba.
