- "We stayed for four nights, two adults and two kids 8 and 12. Overall I'm happy with this rental and would recommend if you're a certain type of person/family. More on that in the cons. I was a little nervous when booking as I couldn't really tell how great the neighborhood was or the ease of public transit with the listing. But it was a nice place to stay! The pros: great location for the T, a five min walk to the D line; nice neighborhood - felt safe and part of the neighborhood which is partly why I do rentals and not hotels; the instructions for check in/out were pretty straightforward; we paid for parking and had a guaranteed spot behind the building; the unit is 90% remodeled and was just as the listing showed; we had fantastic weather and were able to open the windows which was amazing, however I have no reviews for heat/AC; there were adequate kitchen supplies for our morning meals and evening snacks; the bedding was so cozy and there were plenty of towels. Cons: you just can't be larger people and rent this unit - if you're a tall person or a large person you are NOT going to be able to shut the bathroom door plus the apt overall is small; there are a decent amount of stairs - not an issue for us but could be for some; the building is charming but old - it smells old, the stairwells and laundry are fine but dark/damp, the building just it's quarks and if this isn't your thing... The bathroom hasn't been truly updated but it's clean and functions."

We had a tad too much heat at first, but after contacting the host, figured that out. The host/property managers were very prompt at response to correspondence. My home is very comfortable for international travelers, business people, students, medical personnel, etc. The Victorian house is located in a safe, quiet, residential neighborhood convenient to transportation, super markets, great ethnic restaurants/ pubs. Beautiful paths for joggers in the area, green landscapes, historical homes. It is like living in the country side but in reality it is the city. We have a neighborhood park adjacent to the back yard. Only vegetarian food may be brought inside the house. The bedroom which is on the second floor is extremely comfortable. You will think that you are sleeping on air. The room has a triple size dresser, a bureau, desk and chair, a double size bed with four posters. Two oversized windows let the light shine in. One view is towards the neighbor's home. The other window looks out to the back yard with lots of greenery. There are sparkling hardwood floors in this room. The desk has many drawers and a light on it. You would sit on a chair in front of the desk. The bathroom is on the first floor. Must be able to walk stairs. The traveler(s). provides his/her/their COVID-19 vaccination document upon arrival. My back yard has a table and chairs with a lovely garden and lots of greenery. During the summer time, it is wonderful to sit out there and relax. Great ethnic restaurants and pubs are located in my neighborhood. Public transportation to get to Boston center, Longwood Medical area and many colleges (ex. Boston University, Boston College, Emerson, Northeastern, etc.) is only a short walk from the house. The C or D line as well as bus #65 (to the medical area) is in the neighborhood. In Brookline, one must have a dedicated parking spot. Overnight parking on the street is not allowed. There is a dedicated parking spot on my property for guests. Parking fee: $25/night cash. No pets are allowed. Check in time is between 5pm - 7pm.

- "My daughter and grandson loved it" - "I arrived on a rainy night, not knowing there were several steps up to the front door as there was only a picture of the back door on the VRBO page. I tripped up and hurt my knee carrying my bags up the stairs. The host was not only unsympathetic but blamed me for not “reading the description” and asked if I wanted to see her bruises from falls!! The photos gave the impression that this would be a private space with bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom. However, these are rooms within the hosts house with the bathroom and kitchenette downstairs. This was cumbersome to deal with. Also, there are no curtains on the bedroom windows so while changing at night, neighbors in the property across the road could potentially see into my room. Unfortunately, despite her attempts to apologize for her rude behavior, I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable in this VRBO. Also, I had to give a $1500 deposit for this awful experience."

My place is ideal for physicians and researchers visiting one of the nearby hospitals. It's only an 7-15 minute walk to Children's Hospital, Dana Farber, Brigham&Women's, Beth Israel and Harvard Medical School. Northeastern University is also nearby. It is also very quiet.

The spacious bedroom is on the 3rd floor in a 3 story townhouse with a queen-sized bed, an excellent view of a park outside your window, and an ample closet. The townhouse is very quiet, safe, and convenient with a washer and dryer in the unit and a few hundred meters to the subway and a host of shops, cafes, a Starbucks and restaurants in Brookline Village. There are 3 supermarkets within a mile, including a Trader Joe's.

The bathroom would be shared with one other individual. There is no smoking and no parking, but wireless, central air, and utilities are included.

You would have full use of the kitchen, including microwave, toaster oven, pots and pans, tupperware, etc. The common space, which includes a living room with a 65" smart TV and a small patio, is also available to you. This is ideal for multi-month stays.

There are 3 other individuals living here - all professionals, mostly researchers and often international.
