The Reuben Dimond house is located in Concord, New Hampshire; a central location with easy access to a major state highway. Day trippers will find this location convenient to jump onto the highway and head north or south, or to simply wander the back roads and enjoy the sights of New England.
Named after its original owner, this recently renovated farmhouse, circa 1767, sits at the end of a dead-end road surrounded by farm and conservation land. It provides privacy for a quiet rural get-a-way while located only minutes from Concord's Main Street and the State Capital. It provides the feel of the country while being only a few minutes from a busy and vibrant New England city. Downtown Concord offers excellent dinning, theater, cinema, shopping and more.

Step out the front door to find just one of the city's-maintained trails for hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, or just communing with nature. Concord has over 85 miles of dedicated hiking and biking trail available to residents and visitors alike.

The groomed 1.4-acre farmhouse lot provides excellent space for all your outdoor recreational activities, such as, wiffleball, badminton, volleyball, croquet, horseshoes, etc. While sitting next to the fire pit, you may encounter deer, turkeys, and other native animals and birds.

Just up the road, at the top of the hill, is a working farm (Rossview Farm). If you catch them in season, you can pick your own strawberries, blueberries, or pumpkins. During late February and early March, you can sample maple syrup hot from the evaporator. In December it's cut your own Christmas tree time.

The kitchen is well equipped for enjoying your morning coffee or tea and cooking and baking on inside days. The historic summer kitchen now includes a reading nook and laundry closet. During the winter months a fire may be built in the wood stove to allow for a comfortable and relaxing read or to simply dry out your damp clothes from the outdoors activities.

The house was built prior to the revolutionary war. Its exterior walls are of plank construction (i.e 3-inch-thick pine planks 15 to 24 inches wide and 8 foot tall. This was possible when sawmills became available and log cabins were no longer the only possibility.

A couple of unique items must also be noted. The staircase leading to the second floor is described as a "fan staircase" because it is narrow at the bottom and fans out to be very wide at the top. It is doubtful you have seen a like staircase.
The other notable item is the small 8-inch by 8-inch window located at the top corner of the southwest wall of the main house. It is reported this window was an Indian look out. When there was notice of a raiding party traveling down the Merrimack River, the family would hide in the crawl space and watch until the danger was over. The window also provided light into the crawl space. Remember, there was no electricity in 1767.

What we love about this property is the quiet. Most nights you can sit outside and hear nothing but the wind through the trees and the crackling of the fire in the fire pit.

- "Accurate listing, nice cozy home. Enjoyed our stay." - "The good: - Host was very responsive, I had a couple questions, got quick answers. -location, close to downtown and everything you may need -cleanliness, the space was clean and spacious The Neutral (things that didn’t impact us but could be useful for other people deciding if this is the place for them) -beds, the king bed was the only comfy one, the queen and twin beds were not as comfy but they did the job. -cookware as with most rentals is sparse, knives were all serrated which made cooking tough but this is normal and we made do - the day before our trip I learned there is a noise sensitive upstairs owner this was not an issue for us but if I had kids or a larger group I would have wanted to know that upfront/ within the cancellation period as the building is older and so noise is noticeable. -only 4 big plates, 4 salad plates,4 bowls and 4 mugs, but sleeps 6 people, plenty of cups though. Things I would improve. -The living room the furniture was fine but there wasn’t enough of it. For us as a group of 3 it was a non issue but the rental sleeps 6 and there was only a small couch/loveseat that comfortably fits two but could technically fit three people and one chair. There was a desk with a chair as well but not enough seating for everyone if fully booked. Same for the dining table in the kitchen it seats 4 and we found the pub stools very uncomfortable with the sharp edges and lack of back support. We made it work but again a larger group would struggle."

Our home is in a quiet residential neighborhood in the desirable Concord West End within walking distance of downtown.

There are five stairs that lead to your private entrance.

Inside, our kitchen is equipped for cooking and baking with a fridge, microwave, toaster, electric stove/oven. For the coffee lover, the coffee bar is stocked with coffee, tea, sweetener and creamer. You have your choice of drip, k-cup, or French press. In the kitchen closet an electric kettle is also available. You will also find the first aid kit here. Enjoy your coffee on the porch or at the kitchen table.

Just off the kitchen is a full bathroom with a ceramic tile floor, a tub and shower. We offer shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as make-up wipes and make-up towels. We have a few extra toiletries beneath the sink as well.

The living room is bright and cheerful with the natural sunlight from the large windows. You will find a comfortable love seat and a cozy blanket to snuggle up with in front of the TV. The RCA 40” FHD Roku Smart TV is set up to stream and has an antenna. Access to streaming services are available through your own subscription, so remember to bring your streaming account information and passwords and stream your favorite shows. We also have games, books and puzzles if bad weather keeps you inside. The living room is equipped with a window unit air conditioner.

You will find the ironing board, iron, and extra linens in the living room closet.

The first bedroom has a queen bed with usb charging headboard, full length mirror, dresser, alarm clock with usb charger, and dedicated work space.

Welcome weary travellers to the Fifer Davis House! You will step back into history when you walk through the doors of this welcoming suite and be engulfed by old world elegance and warmth.
Circa 1760, it one of the oldest homes in Concord. This mansion was once a single family home. The first owner Colonel Robert Davis, started out as a Fifer and participated in the Battle of Bennington during The Revolution. It sits on a half an acre has a spacious garden in the back. Enter through the main hallway and into your dining room graced with Honduras mahogany wainscoting and built in's and a carved fireplace. Here folks have breakfast, cozy up and watch tv or read a book and just chill. We have a fully equipped kitchen in the alcove of this room. In the morning folks can help themselves to a yummy continental breakfast which includes: Coffee, tea, eggs, toast, english muffins, jams and butter. Tables sits 10 people. Your bedroom consists of a bedroom with a comfy queen canopy sized bed, extra quilts, closet and bureau. Sheets are meticulously starched and fresh. Locks on bedroom doors. We have many wonderful books for cuddling up with also. We can accommodate another 2 people, as The Charter Room is just across the main hallway. This boosts a gorgeous Ethan Allen queen sized canopy bed and a fireplace with an electric insert. This extra room would share the bathroom in the main suite.

- "There was no exterior lighting at all and at night we had to use a flashlight on my phone to get from the car to the front door. The light at the entrance was out, it is old an appeared like it hadn't been touched in years. All the locks on doors were very difficult to operate. We actually left the front door unlocked on accident due to the difficulty of operating the lock. In the living room there was a door to the kitchen, a common area, that had glass windows top to bottom. There was no curtains, nothing. Anyone in the kitchen area can see right into the "private" living space. To access our "private" bathroom we had to go through a public hallway with unlockable doors on either side, not too private."
