- "Really enjoyed our stay here. The home is well maintained with all the amenities we needed. The backyard was great for us and our dog to hang out in. The kids loved all bunking together in the bunk room and spent a lot of time hanging out there. The house does get warm in the nights, but the neighborhood is quiet and we found opening the windows and using the ceiling fan kept us the perfect temperature. It was a short 12 minute walk to King's Beach - we used our car to shuttle most of our group, as well as beach chairs/floats etc to the beach and then returned the car home and walked down - it was perfect. This cozy cabin is centrally located in Kings Beach where vacation begins. The cabin is walking distance to Lake Tahoe, great trails less than ½ mile from the home for hiking and mountain biking, and downtown Kings Beach is 5 blocks away. Downtown Kings Beach has several restaurants, shopping, a large public beach, and mini golf in the summer!

The main floor has an open floor plan with a gas fireplace to warm up beside. Pine cone Cottage has cozy furnishings and decorations throughout. The kitchen is always well equipped for your stay. There is enough seating in the dining room to easily accommodate 8 for family meals, and with the supermarket less than 1 mile away, you can stock up on your way in for you may never want to leave! The south facing deck will be a pure joy with a morning cup of coffee or good book. In the summer, you can relax on the hammock in the backyard.

Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

It had everything we needed for our stay. We had two families, one with very young children, so it worked well to have 2 of 4 the bedrooms at opposite parts of the house. The house location was great, as it was walking distance to the beach, a playground, and restaurants... The only thing I can think of as a negative was that the wifi signal in the bedrooms off of the kitchen was pretty weak so it was hard to use wifi in those bedrooms. But stepping out side those rooms was all it took to get a good signal, so it wasn't a big problem."

- "Our group of 6 had a great stay here! They had everything we could need and it was very clean and cute. It was the perfect location for us to get to Palisades for the weekend. I would recommend anyone to stay here!" - "This was a great little house. The location was close to everything and it was easy to get to. We brought our dogs with us and they enjoyed the fact that we could walk out the back door and take a hike in the National Forest. The back was not fully fenced, so you wouldn't want to leave the dogs unattended, but it was fine if you were watching the dogs (which you should be at a rental). The house provided essential toiletries and toilet paper (some don't). The only negative was that there were rather large ants all over the kitchen. We spent quite a bit of time trying to find and kill them and found them in various places throughout the kitchen during our stay. The beds were comfortable and the space worked well for two adults and two large dogs. The windows were difficult to operate/open and there were no screens which would have been nice for some air flow on what was a warm weekend. Overall, I would definitely stay again provided the ant situation was under control."

A WiFi-enabled key-less entry lock makes for easy coming and going.

Getting Around:
The TART bus stops at Hotel California for transportation to local ski resorts, Truckee, and around the lake.

Other Things to Note:
Parking is limited in the front parking lot but there is public parking at the beach behind the building. Due to limited space in the main lot, please limit yourself to one vehicle per suite. Please also note that parking is first come first serve and we aren't responsible for how other guests park (i.e. a motorcycle taking a full car spot, double parked, too much space in between vehicles, etc.).

Interaction with Guests:
Each studio suite is self sustaining and there isn't a 24 hour staff on site. We do our best to maintain rooms in between guests. I do not live in Kings Beach, so any repair or maintenance will be at the dependence of an available handyman's schedule. - "The house was nicely remodeled, everything was new. The beds were super comfortable. The location is just perfect to walk to the beach, shops, restaurants. Loved everything about it except a couple things. One, the back yard should be more developed. I would rather sit in the back yard with a table and chairs and bbq, rather than the front yard. The back yard is beautiful and could really be nicely developed. Secondly, I felt really uncomfortable relaxing in the front or back yard due to the cameras. Would really have preferred privacy and found them to be a deterrence to spend time in the yards. For that reason, I probably will not be back, but maybe. The house is just perfect otherwise. It was also very clean and pretty well stocked. I and my kids (20 & 21) really had a wonderful time and just love Kings Beach. We've been here many, many time. Most recently a house on Steelhead every summer for 10+ years. Also, we were unlucky as there was road construction with the equipment parked right in front of the house the entire week. I even got blocked in one day by a dump truck, but, oh, well. Still loved it."

- "My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our vacation to Lake Tahoe! The scenery and weather are spectacular. We loved the N. side of the lake (we spent one night on the South side and it just can not compare). Kings Beach was the perfect, laid-back, lake/mountain town. This condo is the ideal "base camp" for your exploring the area. The condo was clean and had everything you could need. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. It was great having access to a washer and dryer. My only suggestions would be for the owner to add a few more fans (the weather cools off at night but it can be a little hot in the afternoon) so there's one for each level, a screen to the downstairs sliding door/porch, and bedside lamps in the master. Overall, the condo was great and we would love to come back someday!"

Up a series of rock pathways interspersed with 49 stairs, the view of the lake, less than 50 yards away, is phenomenal and the house, built in 1935, exudes the charm, serenity and rustic elegance of Tahoe's bygone days. The views and setting are unsurpassed.

This home features a main house with kitchen, master bedroom with queen bed, 3 decks, hot tub, bbq, living room, fireplace, sofa bed, dining table and spectacular views. The kitchen, though small, is very efficient and exceptionally well equipped. Enjoy the sunset and dinner on the lakeside deck which affords a sweeping view of the lake to the northwest. The BBQ deck, located outside the kitchen, looks towards the south and east while the back deck, nestled in among the boulders, affords a peek toward the east side of the lake and provides a cozy, very private place to have breakfast with the early morning sun, get out of the late afternoon wind, or to enjoy the hot tub.

In addition the place was very nicely setup with glasses, plates, coffee machine, and even a french press. The rooftop location is very nice overlooking the lake and the hot tub is in a blocked off location for privacy. Overall a great stay in a more cozy part of North Lake Tahoe. It was the first time the wife and I stayed in North Lake Tahoe and happy we chose this location and this property. We are looking forward to our next trip back!"

Only a few minutes walk to a lovely local beach, 3 minutes to larger Kings Beach and a short drive to 10+ North Tahoe ski/boarding resorts and cross-country ski areas. Relax in the Great Room with the gas fireplace and enjoy the newly renovated kitchen with top of the line appliances.

Parking is easy with space for 2 cars in the driveway plus street parking for any additional cars during the summer. Please note street parking is only allowed from May 1 to November 1, maintaining our tranquil neighborhood.

Inside, you'll find 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, one bathroom on each level. There's one spacious primary bedroom with a king bed and a reading nook. There are two other guests rooms, one of which has bunk beds, perfect for the kids to hangout in. Embrace the nostalgia of old-school Tahoe with our charming wood bunk beds. Plush carpeting throughout adds to the homey feel.

Upstairs: The primary bedroom has a king bed and the bunk room has 1 queen, 1 full, and the top two bunks are twins.

Additionally, we have two hair dryers, Baby Graco Pack n Play, Costco Utility Wagon (great to walk down to beach), Card table and 4 folding chairs, patio furniture on back deck - seats 8, and many games and books.

The walk to the beach and town is the best part of this house! You won't have to deal with the crazy summer parking in the public areas since two cars fits in the driveway and there's street parking (please note: there is no street parking Nov 1 - May 1).

You can walk to the main Kings Beach or walk/drive a bit further to Speedboat Beach or others. I will provide you with a guidebook upon booking and arrival.

You are centrally located to major mountain biking resorts / ski resorts: 15 minutes to Northstar (Epic Pass), 27 minutes to Squaw/Alpine (Ikon Pass), 13 minutes to Diamond Peak, among other local ski resorts such as Diamond Peak, Mt. Rose, and Sugar Bowl.

For example, I can refer you to my friend who owns North Lake Tahoe Boat rentals to go boating for the day, Garwoods for drinks on the beach, as well as any of the local shops to rent water sports equipment rentals.

We have wildlife, a natural occurrence throughout Tahoe. Please put your trash locked away in the bear box and never leave food or trash outside, as it will attract bears. Please make sure to lock the doors at night as well, again to keep away wildlife. If trash is not put away and bears access it, there will be a fine.
