Best of Both Worlds!
Our 2 bedroom guest house, with a rural, idyllic, secluded feel, is only a lovely stroll of less than 3/4 of a mile to the heart of downtown Nevada City. Not just a 'vacation rental'. It is a meticulously maintained 1,100 sf home -- Totally separate, private, sophisticated, quiet, one-of-a-kind, architecturally designed, light filled retreat down a long and private driveway.

Honeycomb Ranch is a non-smoking property located in a 'neighborhood' of 4 ranchettes, each 5 acres apart. It is the perfect retreat/get-away for a couple or a couple of friends or a small family.

The large master bedroom is located at the end of the hall and has a new pillowtop kingsize mattress and a sliding glass door opening onto the deck with meadow and forest views. The second bedroom is smaller but has a very comfortable new pillow-top queen size bed, nightstands and a dresser. There is an additional closet in the entry way if hanging space is needed. (See 'Property Details' for additional information.) The furniture in the living room is extremely comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped and the views from every window are exquisite.

Added bonuses include wheelchair accessibility, unlimited satellite channels on TV, an electric car hook up,
an expandable dining room table (can seat 6-8) and an antique tool museum located in our barn.

If you are parents or grandparents with family living here you want to visit, it is the perfect spot. If you live in San Francisco and want to make a quick getaway out of the fog, it is just a 2 1/2 hour drive. Reno is only an hour and 15 minutes away and Sacramento is just an hour. Easy drives to come to a 'world away'! Anytime is the right time to make your reservations. Nevada County boasts a gorgeous, eastern style Fall with brilliant color everywhere. You don't even have to leave our property to see an unbelievable display of Fall colors. There are huge crafts faires over Thanksgiving weekend and there are classical music festivals in the Fall and throughout the year. Professional theater and our Center for the Arts concerts and events take place year round. In the winter, the towns of Nevada City and Grass Valley both hold street fairs in the month of December prior to Christmas and the towns are decorated to look like something out of a Victorian fairy tale. Winter brings ski-ing and within an hour, you can be at major ski resorts in Lake Tahoe. In the spring, quince, daffodils and everything else is in bloom, frogs are croaking and the river will be flowing. In the summer, you can swim in our magnificent Yuba River, hike, stroll to Farmers Markets, attend music festivals and just enjoy. Weddings abound in our area from Spring through the Fall so if you are part of the wedding party or a guest coming from out of town, make your reservations now. Staying in our guest house instead of a hotel will make the event that much more memorable.

The luxurious one room cabin has wooden beam ceilings and floors, surrounded by windows with green tree-filled views and creek frontage. The cozy Mama Bear's Cabin up the hill from Papa Bear's Lodge and Baby Bear's Cottage (see listings #46584, and #72370), is available year round.

The cabin has two bedrooms and 1 bath. Please note that the base rate is for 2 guests only. The additional guest charge is $20/nt. per person up to 5 guests max. There is a queen-size bed, a double bed and double pull-out futon (in living room) to accommodate up to 5 people. It is best suited for up to 4 adults or a family of 4 or 5 with young children.. In the living room is a gas hearth stove that heats the space nicely. The kitchen is equipped with all the basics. Enjoy the large hot tub which awaits just off the back deck.
Some games and books are provided for your leisure. This is a great place for the honeymoon couple or small family. If you are booking Papa Bear's Lodge for a larger group, this is the perfect place for overflow guests who want a little more privacy.

Hiking and biking trails are near by. Gold panning, (you can rent pans locally) golf ( at Nevada County Country Club). Kayak and paddle board rentals are available at Scotts Flat Lake or Rollins Lake. We are only 3.5 mies from the beautiful South Yuba River.

Please note that we are next to an 80 acre summer camp. During the months of May-August camp is in session and you will hear 'happy' camp noises from time to time during the day. Quiet hours start at 9:30 p.m for the campers, 10:00p.m. for our cabin guests.

Swimming, tennis and a children's play ground are in Nevada City and Grass Valley. We are just a 45 minute drive to the nearest ski area for downhill or cross country skiing, and sledding. Downtown Nevada City is two and a half miles away, where you will find fine dining, wine tasting, great theater, musical entertainment, art galleries and a fun shopping experience in this charming historic gold rush town.

Historic Grass Valley is just another three miles away with more of the same, and we are 1 1/2 hours drive from either Sacramento or Tahoe.

There is a phone for local calls. ** Cell phones do not work well here but you can text or use wifi calling. The internet is slow and the wifi can be spotty. It's all we can get out here.

In July is the return of the Worldfest with 8 stages of music, children's programs, workshops, dance, artisans and international food.

Enjoy Victorian Christmas, the first three Wednesday nights, and the last Sunday before Christmas. You'll find artisans, food vendors and all the shops open late. The gas streetlights, Victorian carolers, and friendly merchants make this the place to visit and shop for the holidays.

Area: The Yuba River, with many deep pools and massive smooth boulders is only minutes from our home. A beautiful trail meanders along its banks for miles.
Lake Vera is a small lake surrounded by summer camps. Our cabins are located on 5 acres next to Camp Augusta. In the summer months (late May to mid August) you can hear 'happy camp sounds' as children enjoy swimming, zip lining and singing around the camp fire, then off to bed by 9:30, quiet hour.

We want your lodging experience to be most enjoyable. Part of that enjoyment comes from selecting the vacation property that best fits your needs. Mama Bear’s Cabin was built in 1985 and is 650 sq. ft a good space for 2 to 4 people. The style is simple, clean and unpretentious. The kitchen is equipped with all the basics you need for cooking, but if you are a gourmet chef, this may not be the place for you. Some of the dishes are hand made pottery. Not everything matches. There is no dishwasher. Garbage needs to be disposed of carefully to avoid attracting those wild critters. Collecting compost scraps and recycling is required, and a conservative energy usage strongly encouraged. There is no central heat. There is a hearth stove, a wall furnace. and a window air conditioner. Please feel free to contact should you have questions or concerns after booking or during your stay. Note: Wifi is AT&T and is unreliable. Checking emails is usually ok, but surfing the net is hit or miss. If you need better wifi, please consider another option.

An adorable and private cottage in downtown Nevada City - just a few minutes walk to the shops, galleries, cafes, bars, restaurants, and events of the charming and historic Nevada City. The Downtown Bungalow features a bedroom with a queen memory foam bed, flat screen HD TV, closet and chair. The bathroom includes organic shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion, plus a hairdryer and luxurious towels. The kitchen has a full set up including a coffee cone, coffee press, burr coffee grinder, juicer and all the appliances, pans, and dishes you need for your stay (a regular 12-cup coffeemaker is available by request.) A gas grill is on the patio. There is a dining area and lovely outdoor patio under a pergola for your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. We provide French coffee beans, tea, and sparkling water (+treats!) The Bungalow is a separate building on our property, with owner interaction at a minimum. There is private parking for one car. There is heat and AC (during warm months only) in the Bungalow, + a ceiling fan. Please note that the Bungalow is a small granny unit, appropriate for one person or a couple. The shower ceiling is on the low side!

Master Bed and Bathroom Suite that is a 10 minute walk to the center of Historic Downtown Nevada City. Private separate entrance and off street parking. Secluded deck overlooking a wooded setting and seasonal creek. Amenities include- refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, television and Wi- Fi. Queen size bed. The house was originally built in 1898 and was completely remodeled about 20 years ago. This bedroom and bathroom suite is in the back of our house. You walk down 15 steps and through a gate on the side of the house and then up 5 more steps to get to the deck in front of the room. Highway 49 is not too far behind our house so you will hear highway noise. It gets very quiet at night. To the left of the deck we have a bird aviary. The room has its own separate heater, air conditioner and fan that you control with a remote control. It’s a mini split system that hangs on the wall….installed new in August 2024.
Our driveway has a downward slope to it. The majority of our guests have no trouble navigating up and down it but if you have a large vehicle you need to be comfortable about backing up the sloping driveway because there may not be enough room to turn around before you go up the driveway. It is an option to park up on the street.
Please no early check in or late check out. Proper cleaning between guests takes time😀. No refunds for weather.it does snow here approximately 2-4 weeks per year.

No pets are allowed in Baby Bear's Cottage for the benefit of our guests who have allergies. Sorry, no exceptions. In the heart of downtown Nevada City (2.5 miles) and Grass Valley (5 miles) you'll find great food, outstanding live theater and wonderful galleries and shops. Travel by car to skiing, river or lake kayaking and swimming. There are many bicycle trails through the surrounding hills and plenty of hiking triails. Local and out-of-town musicians can be heard almost any night of the week at several of the theater venues and restaurants. Check the Chamber of Commerce web site at the bottom of this page for information on the many special events happening in the area.Try your hand at gold panning at the Yuba River, and visit the Historic Empire Mine. This area is ideal for mountain bikers, kayakers and hikers, and, for those looking for a romantic getaway. Lake Vera is a small lake surrounded by summer camps and used exclusively by them. ( Our guests have no access.) Our 3 cabins are located on 5 acres next to Camp Augusta. In the summer months (late May to mid August) you can hear 'happy camp sounds' as children enjoy swimming, zip lining and singing around the camp fire, then off to bed by 9:30, quiet hour. You are invited to hike their trails if it is the off season, (Camp is is session from May -August) by stopping in at their office and asking permission. This is the perfect spot to unwind, and although Papa Bear's Lodge is next door, their activities and outdoor area and porch are away from Baby Bear's Cottage. The waterfall goes 24 hours so if you are sensitive to water sounds at night, this may not be the place for you. On a dark night you can see the milky way. You may see a deer or two wander through the yard. this is definitely a special place.

Nice quiet neighborhood nestled in the trees. There is parking in the driveway for 2 vehicles. Just a brief walk through a beautiful trail following Deer Creek or down a cascade of stairs will put you in the center of downtown Nevada City. You can also take the streets (5 min walk) into town. We are very centrally located.

Further, violation of any law or ordinance by any individual at the Vacation Rental during your reservation will result in the immediate removal of you and other members of your party from the Vacation Rental without refund.
4. ARRIVAL DETAILS & CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT. Once your booking has been paid in full, you will receive contact information for the primary contact for your stay (your “Guest Contact”). Check-in and check-out times will be communicated to you prior to your arrival, unless otherwise set forth in the description of the Vacation Rental. Please confirm your expected arrival time with your Guest Contact. If you or any member of your group fails to vacate the Vacation Rental at the designated check-out time, you grant JC Property Solutions LLC the right to charge the credit card number used to book the Vacation Rental for an additional night. Further, JC Property Solutions LLC or the home owner may initiate any and all proceedings necessary to remove you, your occupants, or your belongings from the Vacation Rental.
5. DAMAGE. Any damage to the Vacation Rental must be reported to JC Property Solutions LLC before check-out. You agree damage is your full responsibility. This may include damage or loss occurring during your stay, violations of house rules or policies, additional cleaning fees, and/or any fines or other costs incurred by the behavior of you or any other occupant during your stay in violation of laws or other regulations. You grant JC Property Solutions LLC the right to charge the credit card number used to book the Vacation Rental for any such damages, including, but not limited too, additional cleaning fees. To ensure that the proper party is held responsible, please notify your Host of any damage found at check-in.

Our 10-acre site is a retired resident camp renovated for family enjoyment. Watanda Lodge alone can be rented by your family or a couple for a romantic weekend or both lodge and cabin (VRBO #33191). Watanda Lodge sits on Lake Vera which is shared by 3 seasonal working camps.

The non-smoking lodge contains a large stocked, gourmet kitchen for meal preparation for up to 30 persons. The lodge bathroom one toilet and one tub/shower. Adjacent bath house has 3 toilets and 3 showers. The Great Room has a large ten-foot fireplace with wood burning insert for chasing away the winter chill. Heat and A/C throughout lodge. Direct-TV/DVD & StarLink internet, phone for local calls. Large DVD collection & puzzles for your enjoyment. **Maximum in the lodge is 8 for overnight sleeping, additional guests use the camping Kiosks. Kiosks are not suitable for Fall/Winter use. Day guest use is 30 maximum.

Lodge sleeping accommodations for 8, rest of guests use the Camping Kiosks (not suitable for winter use). The large dorm style Lodge bedroom contains one king bed, (linens provided for king bed only), two twin bunk beds and one twin bunk bed in the great room. Only the king bed will be made up, linen sets will be provided for the bunks depending on the number of guests in your reservation. Additionally, there are 12 pillows. Toiletries and towels are provided for groups of 6 only, larger groups will need to bring own towels. Cabin rents separately from the lodge.

LAKE VERA is a small private lake, there are a variety of watercraft for your use including 5 canoes and 5 kayaks. Life jackets are provided and required for all boaters. No fishing license is needed. A picnic area and large fire ring are located on the waterfront, accommodating 30. There is little shade on the waterfront, we do provide two shade canopies, but you might consider bringing one. The lake is drained from about November 1 (depending on rainy season) to mid-April; water level begins to drop in August and can be quite low in dry summers. There is an ALL-Lake quiet from 9:30 pm-7:00 am in which only quiet activities that do not create a disturbance.

Minimum stay is 3 days from Memorial Day to Labor Day and Holidays, 2-day minimum the rest of the year. Small cabin on the property may be also rented at the same time if the entire site is not rented by your group. Motor Homes can navigate our entrance, but not large Coaches. We do not have RV hook-ups or the capacity to run extension cords.

NEVADA CITY: Nevada City has many year-round events, and the Fall colors and weather are not to be missed. December has Victorian Christmas and Grass Valley has Celtic Christmas; both are weekly events thru December. The fairgrounds are close by with many antique and quilt shows. There are also several wineries in the area and many fine restaurants and antique stores. Grocery stores, consumer services and hospital, are less than 5 miles away.

SUMMER USE: Great for families large or small, or friends who vacation together. The Yuba River is 3 miles away. Equestrian trails and staging areas along Hwy 20. Many developed bike trails in the area. We do not permit motorized biking on our 10 acres.

WINTER USE: Nevada City and Grass Valley both have weekly Christmas Fairs in December offering many local artisans. Great location for Tahoe skiers who do not want to pay resort prices. Cross country skiing 45 minutes away on Hwy 20, snow play less than 20 minutes up Hwy 20. We are at 2500 ft elevation and is located off main road which is plowed but has long driveway that is not plowed. There is parking at the road entrance if snow is a problem but rarely is. Saucer sleds available.

PETS: Well behaved owners with good citizen dogs are welcome, however dogs are not allowed in the kitchen or on furniture. Please help us to remain pet friendly by observing this.

Dogs must have current rabies vaccination. It is recommended that dogs be treated 3 days before your arrival with a topical flea and tick medication.

Dogs are not allowed to roam the property and must be under the direct control of the owner. Any dog showing aggressive behavior or interferes with guest enjoyment will be asked to board the dog(s) off site.

Geronimo Cabin is a 2-bedroom (sleeps 2-5), handcrafted log cabin on a 200-acre developing eco-preserve in the heart of the Sierra Nevadas. Offering peace, quiet, and a chance to reconnect to the beauty of wild nature, Geronimo Cabin is the perfect glamping-style getaway for couples, families, and small groups seeking a rustic retreat in the forest.

PLEASE NOTE: Geronimo Cabin does not have its own bathroom or hot water. There is a guest bathroom a short walk away at the main house with a hot shower, sink, and flush toilet, as well as clean outhouses closer to the cabins.

Geronimo Cabin is equipped with a 4-burner gas stove, mini fridge, sink with cold running water,, dining table and chairs, and numerous cookware and utensils. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed and dresser and there is a large couch in the main room which can sleep an additional guest. Outside there is a shared picnic area with charcoal BBQ, fire pit, large picnic table and chairs for gathering.

There is also a wood stove for heating with firewood and kindling provided. Directions for how to operate the wood stove are posted in the cabins, but if you would like assistance please let us know.

Please note the fee listed is for two people. For each additional guest there is a charge of $25.

PET POLICY: Your well-behaved pets are welcome for a fee of $10 per pet, per night. Please note there may be other guests with pets on the property, so any pets you bring must get along with other animals and people.

CELL RECEPTION/INTERNET ACCESS: There is little to no cell reception on the entire property. Consider your stay an opportunity to disconnect from the virtual world and unwind. However, there is wifi available outside the main house if you need (a short walk away from the cabins).

SHARED SPACES: Geronimo, Shamballa, and Trinity Cabin are in close proximity, with communal fire pits, large charcoal BBQ (bring your own charcoal), a 16-foot slab picnic table and chairs nearby. If there are guests in the other cabins, please be mindful of sharing these spaces and keeping noise to a minimum. Serenity and Radiance cabins offer more privacy.

SMOKING/FIRE SAFETY: During high fire season (summer and early fall) we must be extremely careful with fires and smoking. Smoking is allowed on the cabin decks, fire pit and picnic areas, and in your vehicle but not in the outback on trails as it is prohibited by the local forest service.

OUTDOOR FIRE PITS: If you would like to build a fire in the outdoor pit there is a firewood fee of $20 per hour. **Please check in with us at the main house before you use the outdoor pit.***

Gorgeous industrial modern 1BR studio in heart of Nevada City Historical District, steps away from eclectic bars, award-winning restaurants, shops, and night life. The space
Modern designer build with high-end custom materials and finishes throughout. This cozy studio-style space has a cushy queen bed, with luxury linens, down comforter and fluffy pillows. There is a large TV on the wall across from the bed. At the end of a full day of exploring/shopping/dining, kick off your shoes, heat up the left-overs and lounge in bed watching your favorite shows on Netflix.

Please note the location in the description as we are in town and very close to the business district. As such you may experience some light noise in the early evening.

Note: There is NO additional lounging space (couch, side chairs, etc) but there is a bistro table and chairs for morning coffee or intimate dinner for 2.

The galley kitchenette is just off the sleeping space but separated and has full size stainless steel appliances, high-end fixtures, custom cabinetry, and granite countertops. Small built in fridge, microwave, and fully stocked dishware and cookware.

The bathroom is separate and private with an industrial-design flair and includes custom tile and cabinetry, a spacious walk-in shower, and bath amenities.

There is a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm and there is a wood-fired hot tub that is dedicated to this yurt only. Both require a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. There should be charcoal available, but if not, please plan to bring your own or go to the store.

Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious.

Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log.

The hot tub: it’s wood-fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there!

Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights. It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season.

It’s a beautiful time of year on the property. If you walk the trails around the property and keep going up, you will hit the irrigation streams, so beautiful right now! You can also walk up the street to access the same waterways. Please stay on the paths and do not allow dogs, kids, etc. to put unnecessary wear and tear on the environment.

We have 19 chickens and two baby goats (born 3/14/25). You're welcome to take fresh eggs out of the indoor coop. Feel free to go into the pen and interact with the goats; they love fresh branches, fresh leaves, chips, and crackers. They are currently bottle-fed fed so they like to suck on fingers as well. They love attention! The spotted one is Rocket, and the yellow one is Willow.

Checkout: Checkout time is 11 am. Here’s how to check out -Please do the dishes. Pile your used towels together so I don’t wash things that haven’t been used. Leave the door unlocked and leave the trash where it is, and we will take care of it. Just send me a text to 510-541-9416 that you’ve left if possible, so we can come and get it ready for the next person.

The space
There is plenty of parking in front of the house. The front entry is shared with the owners (your hosts), but the stairs to your private room are just inside the front door. The room is quite large with a queen-sized bed, Wi-Fi, TV monitor, and private bathroom just for you. The kitchenette in the room has a small microwave, mini fridge, bowls, cups, napkins, and utensils. There are also a lot of nice restaurants in the area (plus Door Dash). There is a code to enter the front door of the home. Cleanliness is very important to us, so the room and bathroom are professionally cleaned after each and every use. The bed linens, blankets, towels, and bath mat are washed and replaced after every single guest, no exceptions.

This is a small addition built onto the side of a large, two-story garage. There is a tenant above the garage. The building is located about 75 feet from our house and surrounded by trees. Originally, Tiny Miracle was designed to house a boat. It was recently converted into guest quarters.

Welcome to the Guest Nest, a comfy, clean & bright room for up to two adults w/King bed & private bathroom. Great for people on the go & looking for an economical place to sleep & shower. It’s completely private and has no shared space with the main home. TV, mini-fridge & microwave provided (we do not supply a coffee maker or coffee). Near hiking/bike trails & Scotts Flat lake. 4WD or AWD recommended for snow. Downtown Nevada City & Grass Valley are a 5-10 minute drive. Local market 1/2 mile.

The space
You’ll enter through a private covered entryway. The room is bright with high ceilings. What it lacks in square footage is made up for in economy and efficient use of space. There are tall night stands with drawers and shelves, a small table and stools, a closet area with hangers, and a full length mirror in the entry hall. A small mini refrigerator with tiny freezer and a microwave oven are also provided (we do not supply a coffee maker or coffee). There is a compact fold-up ironing board & steam iron. A private rear patio has a table & two chairs for good weather dining. The back yard is a former maple tree nursery and is now transitioning back to an open natural landscape. The room is separated from the main house by a locked door that goes to our laundry room. There are long term tenants who also reside on the property. During typical working/waking hours, you will hear normal household noises such as people using the staircase or the deck above the unit, delivery people, residents who are going about their daily routines of washing, cooking, entertaining etc. There are also two friendly indoor/fenced-in dogs that reside on the property who may occasionally bark. You may see wildlife in the area such as wild turkey, deer, coyote, squirrel, ravens, and the occasional bear. We use our Verizon cell phones for most of our own online needs but we also offer guest wifi through T-Mobile. We have Dish Network TV with the America’s Top 120 package, MAX, PBS and local channels and you can choose from numerous movies that we recorded on the DVR. We update our bedding for the seasonal temperature changes and keep extra blankets in a bin beneath the bed if needed. We have posted several photos of the bed showing the different linens we use. We do not have air conditioning in the unit but we do have a ceiling fan and temperatures are usually cooler at night. You may see us and/or our tenants outside with our dogs when you are out front or sitting on the back patio. The back patio has a fence so that the dogs cannot enter your area when they are running free.

You’ll have access to your private bedroom and bath,the front covered entry and the back patio. The main house is not shared but we’ll be here if you need anything.

During your stay
We live here and will be readily available if you need anything. The main house is not a shared space, but we’d be happy to meet you and introduce ourselves during your stay if you’d like, just let us know.

Other things to note
The room has a ceiling fan but is not air conditioned. It is well insulated and has a shaded front and back entry. At night the temperatures usually drop due to our elevation and we provide a portable heater to warm the room.

We do get snow in winter and we recommend a 4WD vehicle when snow is in the forecast. Heavy snowfall can cause delays in driveway maneuverability as we rely on snow removal professionals to manage our driveway and their schedules can vary.

PG&E provides us with plenty of notice prior to a planned power outage during wildfire season, however, during inclement weather, our power could be disrupted due to falling branches or trees at any time. Water, heat and other services that depend on electricity will be temporarily disrupted during a power outage.

We prefer guests to let us know their ETA so we can turn on the heater at least an hour in advance of arrival. The studio ceiling is low with a wooden beam across the middle of the roof, so it is not ideal for guests over 6ft tall. We also do not want pets on the bed if possible. This spot is located along the highway and there are people living upstairs (normally its quiet by 9pm but during the day you may hear steps), so if you are noise sensitive then please assess your own needs upon booking.

This spacious bungalow evokes a remote retreat while only two miles from downtown Nevada City. Situated within a one-acre manicured garden, it features a sleeping area with a comfy queen bed to one side and a sitting area with a sleeper sofa and smart TV to the other side, all below a high ceiling with four skylights. A great jumping off point to explore the Gold Country or to cocoon in the Sierra foothills.

Other things to note
Cable TV on a 43" Samsung smart TV includes HBO and Showtime, plus easy access to your Netflix and other accounts.

The kitchenette is equipped with a GE stainless steel oven, an induction burner and cookware, ideal for stays of a few days to a couple weeks. Also included: a microwave, full-sized refrigerator, coffeemaker, toaster, and electric kettle. You’ll find coffee, bottled water and refreshments in the fridge.

A heavy curtain separates the toilet/shower area from the rest of the bungalow. The bathroom can't be seen into from the central part of the studio, and there is a ventilating fan in this room as well. There is no bathroom sink; the nearby kitchen sink doubles as a bathroom sink. Just a few steps from the bungalow, a larger, full bathroom in the main house is available, featuring a separate, private entrance.

There are no steps from the driveway to the bungalow; however, the unit isn't completely level, as there is one step up into the bathroom.

Motion sensor lights illuminate paths across the property for evening arrivals. A powerful generator keeps electricity flowing seamlessly to the bungalow during outages.

Luggage drop-off is OK, but pls make arrangements in advance so that doors and gates will be unlocked for you.

Standard property maintenance (gardeners, repairs, and so on) occasionally takes place on weekdays and can be noisy.

No third-party bookings; the reservation must be made by the party staying in the bungalow.

Note that house rules include the need for all guests to view a short YouTube video in advance of arrival, as it features crucial tips for locating the difficult-to-find driveway.

This queen suite loft is located on our secluded 16 -acre forest sanctuary near the Yuba River in the Sierra Nevada foothills. With our unique communal spa (clothing-optional) - includes: Scandinavian-style cedar sauna with crystal-grid, colloidal silver & UV-filtered hot tub, outdoor baths & showers, strawbale bathhouse with deep soaking tubs/rain showers, community kitchen, meditation/yoga temple - a perfect refuge to escape the congestion of the city & enjoy the fresh mountain air!

The space
Climb a ladder to access the loft suite. The suite itself is made of cedar siding, treated with a zero-VOC stain. One end of the A-frame suite has an interchangeable window with three options (vinyl window, mosquito screening, or open). In the summer we typically leave the mosquito screening up, for more of an open-air experience - in the winter it is enclosed and cozy. The space also has an electric fireplace-heater to keep you warm as needed. The bed is a two-layer organic cotton and wool futon with zero fire retardants. So this is a perfect place for health conscious people or those with sensitivities to toxins. The space also has two Himalayan salt lamps, which emit negative ions and help neutralize the EMFs from electronics. As well as a HEPA air filter for clean fresh air.

The room itself is in the spa area, located directly above the sauna and changing room (these spaces are shared). Below the sauna and changing room is the communal kitchen and bathroom (compost eco-toilet). In addition to the queen suite, guests can access the shared kitchen and spa deck (including the cedar sauna, outdoor baths, hot tub, outdoor showers, and changing room with filtered water station). The showers and baths are open (lack privacy screening). However, our bathhouse offers privacy as desired, replete with two indoor deep soaking tubs (perfect for couples) and rain showers and two standard flushing toilets with bidets. During open-use hours guests have access to the Stardeck and Madrone Yurt Temple for practicing yoga, meditation, dance, or whatever else calls to you! We also have nature trails down to our year-round spring-fed creek, and many places to enjoy the magical energies unique to this land. All our products are eco-friendly (soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, detergent; 100% recycled toilet paper and paper towel), we run our property on solar power, and our buildings are largely green (zero VOC paints, etc.).

While we offer these comforting plush amenities and are here to support you, this property is still immersed in wild nature with all of it's beauties and challenges.

You will enter our property through a private gated entrance and find a designated parking spot to the left along a wooden fence. The room itself is a decent walk down a somewhat steep hillside from the parking lot, which may occasionally be slippery during winter months. Good footwear is recommended. As you make your way down the gravel path from the parking lot, you will pass our blue-green plaster bathhouse 30 yards from the parking lot. In the bathhouse, you will find two standard-flush toilet rooms (w/bidets) and two shower/soaking rooms. As you continue to meander another 100 yards down the stairs through the garden beds and fruit orchard, you will pass through a wooden gate to the Crystal Spa (with outdoor tubs, hot tub, sauna, outdoor showers). Follow the ladder up to your private room above the spa!

The closest bathroom will be our compost toilet located on the lower level of the spa deck.

Outdoor lighting Is limited so *please be prepared with a headlamp or flashlight* if arriving at night.

Note*** Do Not Enter through the wooden gate directly adjacent to Parking Area, this is our private residential space.

During your stay
We tend to give our guests space, but there is a real sense of community amongst those of us who live and visit here, and typically plenty of opportunity for interaction. Please note that the shared spaces (spa deck area, communal kitchen, yurt temple) are shared with other potential Airbnb guests, as well as residents. Someone will typically be available when needed to help make your stay more enjoyable.

QUIET HOURS:
Out of respect for our neighbors and guests wanting to enjoy the quietude of nature, we ask that everyone honor our quiet hours after 10pm. This means being mindful of your noise levels, especially outside or in shared spaces (e.g., no electrified music, loud laughing, etc.). Please note that other guests may be staying in the A-frame unit above the hot tub.

LAND MAINTENANCE HOURS:
During working hours (M-F) there may be various work projects happening on our land, which can mean that there could be some noise (e.g., weed whacking, sawing, sanding, etc.).

SMOKING AREA:
Absolutely NO FLAME CANDLES OR FIRES are allowed under any circumstances. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

INTERNET ACCESS:
Our internet is fast by rural standards. Our antenna service gets 200 megabits per second download speed and up to 20 megabits per second upload speed. Guests should beware that our wifi may or may not meet their needs, especially if multiple users are uploading or downloading at the same time.

CELL SERVICE:
Generally, we get great cell service at Eudaimonia on most major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc..), so personal hotspots are likely a reliable backup for internet access.

SEASONAL EXPECTATIONS:
Summers may come with fires/smoke and winters may come with storms, snow, and ice. We are at the mercy of nature and will do our best to make your stay a happy and healthy one. That said, we ask that you come prepared to weather the elements with us!

Beyond the terms of our moderate cancellation policy, we will be extending a 50% refund for cancellations due to Hazardous AQI levels as measured by our on-site sensors. This applies only to days with AQI levels 301+, not the entirety of your stay.

The unit is on the second floor above a storage garage. The garage is off limits but the entire rental unit is devoted to our guests.

Other things to note
We have an Australian Shepard (Jedi) who may bark at you from the fenced back yard of the main house when and if he is outside. Please stay away from the wire fence and don't walk up to him. He doesn't like strangers and is protective of the property.

There may be an additional fee charged if you stay past check out time.

Sweet and simple studio located walking distance to Downtown Nevada City up Boulder Street. The studio is 250 sq ft with all the basics and a new bathroom. It is set towards the back of the property with a private outdoor area, and 2 other shared ones. Come and enjoy a convenient close to town stay at an affordable price!

The main house is also an Air Bnb. They share the same property entrance but nothing else. If you'd like to book the entire property message me and I'll send you a link.

The space
The studio has a double bed and a kitchenette including a propane 3 burner stove, toaster oven, electric kettle, coffee pot, microwave, and mini fridge.

Guest access
Studio guests are encouraged to use the street parking above the house. It is tucked in and safe, and prevents driveway backup if there are guests in the main house.

If you do use the driveway, please pull into the second, less steep one, and pull all the way forward and to one side. This will allow multiple cars to park in the driveway at one time.

Other things to note
This is a quiet neighborhood and not a place for partying!

Pet Policy
Your well behaved single pet is welcome for an additional $35. If you will be traveling with pets please acknowledge you agree to the pet policy when you request to book.

Pets must not be left alone in the house unless they are crated, and not left unattended on the property as there may be other guests. Also, keep them off the bed at all times. Of course, you are responsible to clean up after them and take responsibility for any damage they may do.

After retirement, Jim and Katherine ran a B&B (high accolades in Travel Advisor) and now offer a beautiful refurbished room and bath in their home walking distance to Nevada City. Hot tub with robes provided. Coffee and tea on the patio or in formal dining room. Hosts are warm and helpful and will direct you to fun things to experience locally! Home filled with antiques. High quality queen bed and linens, Roku with flatscreen tv and walk in closet. Wine glasses, water and snacks in room.

The space
Home was refurbished top to bottom In 2016-17. The house is located on a quiet cul de sac with similar homes surrounding us. Away from freeway or street noise, this property is an oasis of calm.

Guest access
If needed for food or drinks, space is available upon request in our 2nd refrigerator located closely in our garage. If requested, washer and dryer access as well! There are many wonderful restaurants within a mile. Our kitchen and family room are not a shared space.

During your stay
Besides information available in the guest room for things to do and see and a list at of local restaurants, hosts will be available to help with any plans or suggestions.

Other things to note
Beautiful backyard is a peaceful setting in Spring, Summer or Fall to read or drink coffee, play ping pong (or use the pickle ball dink court!) or float in the hot tub.

Cozy and quiet cottage in the forest within minutes of downtown Nevada City and the Yuba River. The studio cottage sleeps 2 comfortably but can accommodate 1-2 more on a pullout bed. We are on 2 acres but please note that the cottage is within close proximity of another house on the property. We are happy to welcome well-behaved leashed dogs as long as they will get along with ours. The house has a small but functional kitchenette with hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker and a few basics.

The space
One room studio cottage with a private bathroom and kitchenette. There is a very comfortable queen bed and a pull out sofa and extra bedding. There is a private deck off the back of the cottage that overlooks a semi-private yard area with views of the surrounding forest.

Other things to note
There is a semi private, but not enclosed, outdoor shower that you are welcome to use, but be mindful of the fact that there may be other people on the property.

This cozy Chalet is a comfy and private space on a beautiful property with a convenient location. The room has a TV, wifi, a heater/fan. The adjoining 1/2 bathroom has full laundry facilities. There is a refreshing outdoor shower! Enjoy the fire pit, gas grill, and well equipped outdoor gym. The central shared gazebo provides a workspace, TV, refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, coffee maker, glasses and tableware. Enjoy the hammocks, sitting by the meditation pool and enjoying nature!

The space
The property is conveniently located between Nevada City (1 mile) and Grass Valley (2 miles) multiple access point to the Yuba River just a short drive away. This property has been lovingly landscaped and meticulously maintained. The gated property allows a safe and worry free retreat in the heart of Gold Country!

Guest access
During warm months guests may enjoy the entire property including fire pit, gas grill, private deck, mini-putt, meditation pond, gardens, outdoor workout area with stairmaster/stationary bike, open gazebo and gardens throughout property. Owners private hot tub is not available for guest use.

Other things to note
no use of the private hot tub- thank you. Quiet time 10 pm- 8 am. Bathroom, outdoor shower, and central gazebo may be shared if there is another guest on the property.

It is only 1 mile from downtown Nevada City, and it has all the charm of a countryside getaway. The Poppy Room sits on a deck overlooking the garden, a pond, and the neighboring farm. Enjoy going to the river and a barbecue during the warmer seasons or skiing and cozying up with a movie during the colder seasons. This is a perfect location year-round to spend time with a friend, for business, on a romantic getaway, or just to wind down near nature. Amenities include free parking, EV charging, wifi, a kitchenette, self check-in, and more. $20 shall be charged for use of the EV charger to help cover the cost of this service.

The Pioneer Trail mountain biking trail system is 5 miles from the accommodations. Trails include the infamous Hoot, Scott's Drop and the Talon trails. Drive 1 hour to Downieville for even more downhill fun. Co-host has been living and riding trails in this area for 20 years and can help plan bike rides and shuttles to trails. Trail maps are in your room and can be printed for you upon request

Festival Nevada County Fairgrounds are a 7 minute drive from the accommodations. Festivals and events include Father's Day Bluegrass Festive, Strawberry Music Festival, KVMR Celtic Festival, Draft Horse Classic and more.

Nestled in among pines redwoods, and madrones,
the Kiva Room is a detached studio guesthouse on a family property. Located one mile from downtown Nevada City (a 20 min walk or 4 min drive).

This is a 244-square-foot studio artistic space with a wistful bamboo-sheltered backyard enclosed with a wooden fence, creating a privacy screen from neighbors and a peaceful environment to relax. The studio interior is very artsy-eclectic-boho, with lots of colors and objects. Bathroom, full kitchen with many utensils and tools, dishwasher, ROKU TV, queen bed.
One-nighters available, can book no more than 3 days in advance.

The space
This studio apartment is very colorful, with art everywhere, both inside and out. Some people describe it as "funky", referring, I guess, to the many styles of art and decoration. I personally call it bohemian or eclectic.
Because neighbors are close we ask that phone usage outside be quiet so neighbors are not distrubed.

Roku is our form of TV. ROKU is basically a WiFi-streaming system. You can watch almost anything for free, or sometimes a small charge. Subscription channels are available: HULU, Netflix, Prime, sports channels and many more.
Parking is available for one car in front of the garage. No parking on the street outside the studio. Guests need to park up the hill in front of the stucco fence (only 50 feet away).
No-smoking inside.
Person booking must be same person staying (unless otherwise arranged).
No pets on property.
3:00 is earliest entry and/or parking time (the cleaner needs the parking space til 3:00).
Check-out time is 11:00. You must be out of the parking space by 11:00 as the cleaner will want to pull in there. As an airbnb cleaner, she has many places to clean on any given day and her schedule is tight (usually 11-3). Thus she claims the parking space and studio from 11:01 to 2:59. Please respect this; leaving 20 minutes late can mess up her schedule.
One night stays are available, but cannot be reserved more than 3 days in advance.
Monthly rentals are available (for one person only) at 30% discount. (Airbnb calculates that automatically. Rent for longer than 31 days and you also don't pay the 10% bed tax).

Once your visit is confirmed, please watch for your "Itinerary" from Airbnb via email....or you can look online for it. It will give you address, directions and your front door access number.
Guests have access to the private yard shaded by bamboo, one parking space, and a private studio apartment.

Russtic Roadside Retreat is a small glamping cabin in a private corner of our property. It includes a queen bed, small "camp" kitchen, flush toilet, shower (towels are provided), small deck, and electric heater.( Note that it can be cold in the cabin when the temps dip into the 20s and 30s.) Pets are welcome but must not be allowed to get on the bed. Historic Nevada City is just a short walk from the site.

The space
It's rustic. The cabin was built using site-sourced cedar poles, recycled wood and pallets. Many unique and creative features add to the ambiance. The flush toilet, shower, kitchenette, and four poster queen bed all contribute to a comfortable and cozy glamping experience. NOTE: The local Sportsman's Club is about a mile from our property and you may hear shooting on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday. Also, headroom can be close for those over 6'.
