- "Nice place in Portmouth. Everything was as promised and there was dishwasher and also a drying laundry machine. Parking can be a bit challenging but we were able to secure spots easily. All the basics were there and the bed was comfortable. Cooling fan shot some thick dust out so it probably wasn't used for a long time. There was also long standing water in the water boiler so that was kind of disgusting. Luckily we didn't need it. All doors made squeeking sounds when you had windows open through hot nights, but it created kind of an athmosphere. Living room gets quite hot during sunny summer days. TV was modern and worked well. There was also a freezer! Neighborhood is nice and calm. "

- " Got a text from the property management to get in to the room. Access to the property was through an unlocked front door and a room door with a combination lock which was loose and did not work. Rang the property mobile number and they said turn itleft and right then the code works. Almost immediately they sent a text demanding another payment of £45 for cleaning services which would be on top of £74 paid up front to Hotels.com. The room had a queen size bed with damp smelly linen and appeared to have been sprayed with a toxic air freshener. Toilet in the hall with no washing facilities and I guess a bathroom somewhere upstairs. As the room Management continued to send messages and ringing demanding the extra money i felt intimidated as this was not obviously extortion. I stopped answering and will be making a formal complaint to Hotels.com as I felt unsafe and hardly slept."

- "The property is situated in a great part of Southsea, you can get to the beach relatively quickly and there are plenty of attractions around. The property itself is in need of a spruce up and a thorough deep clean, it feels a bit tired throughout. Our children were wearing light coloured socks and due to the hard floors not being cleaned properly, they were all filthy when we left. For a property that sleeps 10, there is only 1 bathroom which was surprising, especially if everyone is trying to get ready. We also had to phone to ask where to hot tub was, we were looking forward to relaxing in it, only to be told that it wasn’t being put out and they had taken it off the booking (it was done after we had booked and were not informed so it was a surprise). Finally, parking isn’t available even though it said it was, we had to park a 10 min walk away in the train station, costing around £30 for the week with limited spaces. There are also some minor repairs around the house that could do with attending to."

The beach a mere 3 min walk away, turn left where you'll find great places to eat, the Southsea Beach Cafe, one of my favourites with spectacular views of the beach and the Isle of Wight. The Coffee Cup, a coffee shop on the beach, great for kids too, turn right and you'll come to Palmerston road, with its great variety of restaurants and shopping from, John Lewis Debenahams Waitrose and Sainsbury's to the weekend farmers markets, which has a tasty range of organically produced foods.
Walk a little further still and you'll come to Southse Castle, with its great museum, one of my favourite restaurants, The Courtyard, fab afternoon tea, and shops where you'll find some great souvenirs of your time spent in this lovely part of Hampshire. Make sure you take advantage of the views from the castle, they truly are unmissable.
Continue your walk to Old Portsmouth, with its Cathedral and oldest pubs in Portsmouth, the Still and West is great pub to stop for lunch and soak up the views is the ferries going in and out of the ferry ports and the iconic Spinaker Tower, a real sight to see.
Take the 'millennium walk' a trail of links within the pavement which will take you all the way to the Spinaker and the Gunwharf Quays Outlet Center, a great place to have dinner and pick up a bargain or 2.
Southsea is also well placed to explore other areas of the South of Britain, with its fantastic train service and great road links. You could visit Brighton, Bournemouth and Stone Henge to London and Oxford all within a 90 minute journey.

All together this is a super comfortable accomodation to stay whilst exploring Southsea on foot and a great location to explore further afield.

A spacious first floor, light and airy open plan bedroom suite with brand new decor and furnishings throughout. Impressive, modern, bespoke designed partition walls, window seat and breakfast bar with 4 stools.The suite has it is own separate shower room with a modern chrome shower , wash basin and toilet. - "This is a newly refurbished guest house and it has been done to a very high standard. With it being fairly new and a work-in-progress, there were a couple of teething problems, but they were addressed really quickly and Bell was very friendly and helpful. Slight traffic noise at the front, but this might not bother those who aren’t light sleepers - ear plugs did the trick! It’s a fairly old and characterful property, with creaky floors which can’t be helped but movement can be heard a lot in the lower floors. I mentioned this and Bell arranged for a rug to be put down on the upstairs wooden floors which helped a lot - again, great customer service! I would highly recommend this property, and once all the renovations are complete it should quiten down (but this was reflected in the price and really was just noise due to more people coming and going rather than building work)."

There was an issue with the actual property that we rented, but Jozie found us a similar one that was just down the street from the other. The flat was clean and comfortable. It had a fantastic kitchen and Jozie provided snacks and a bottle of wine! We loved the french doors to the balcony, which stayed open most of the time that we were there, because of the nice breeze. The parking was a little tight, but we had no issue parking our small SUV. The flat was very close to the beach and all of the attractions were a short drive. The tastefully decorated guest room consists of a small-double bed with pillows and a duvet. Ample storage for an organised stay with bedside table and a built in wardrobe.

For extra comfort we offer tea, coffee, sugar, milk, two mugs, a kettle and a water carafe.

And for an awesome all seasons bathroom experiences, besides the temperature controlled shower with rain effect, we added toilet bidet facility with temperature controlled wash and seat.

Two pairs of slippers for going to the bathroom and a pair of dressing gowns to use while you’re staying with us.

Heating is set to be on in the cooler months at 6am-9am and 5pm-10pm to achieve the comfortable 21°C.

1. Heating and hot water take a short while to come on.

2. The bathroom window is kept open slightly to stop damp or mould. This is common in old English brick houses, and this house is more than 100 years old!

To gain access to the property there is a a small white drawer in the porch on the right-hand side as you face the door and your key will be labelled in the top drawer and will have your front door key and bedroom key, when you leave please replace the keys where you found them.

As a backup and emergency we have a key safe for the front door only code 2407. Once you are in the house your room will be up the stairs and on the left, all rooms are numbered.

During your stay
I work away so I am not always available for guests. If you are looking for company and someone to socialise with then this is not the right property for you as sometimes I am away for days.

Other things to note
We do have a cat called Pixie and an Irish Red Setter Dog called Frank, if you are allergic or do not like animals then this is not the place for you. Sorry. Both pets are very friendly.
