This is an awesome vacation home that you will LOVE! It is a free standing home with comfortable furnishings and well stocked supplies. Enjoy this special community from our beautiful home in Barrio De Tubac, a small community within walking distance of the artist village in Tubac, and less than a mile from the Tubac Golf Resort. As frequent VRBO guests ourselves, we know what we enjoy when staying in other’s homes, a designer home, geared towards comfort, with well-stocked supplies. We have picked out every item, from soft sheets, to bathrobes, to smart TVs that allow you to access your accounts with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. (No cable TV) You will love our 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with its’ 10 foot ceilings, gas kiva fireplace, surround sound, jetted tub, walk in shower, well stocked kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, private court yard, and back patio with comfortable seating and beautiful sunset views. Of course high speed wireless Internet is also provided, as well as two bikes, helmets and lock.
You will love being able to walk, run or bike on the Historic De Anza trail, only blocks from the house, then enjoy a nice glass of wine on the patio watching an amazing Arizona sunset! You will also really enjoy visiting the historic Tumacacori mission that dates back to the late 1600’s, or just relax at the pool and hot tub which is a short walk/bike from the house. You should also spend some time browsing the many unique art galleries that line the quiet streets of the Tubac Village. Our home is perfect for a romantic getaway, where you can spend your entire trip without ever leaving Tubac. The local market is just a short walk/bike from the house and has everything you need for a gourmet meal, including specialty cheeses and a very nice wine selection. If you love golf, as we do, you can spend your days playing golf at the famous Tubac Golf Resort or at a host of other golf courses in the area (Rio Rico or Green Valley). The Golf Resort also has a Spa and a great restaurant called the Stables. Our favorite spot for dinner is the exquisite Elvira’s Restaurant – within walking distance from our home. You will be blown away by the food and ambiance at this restaurant.
Finally, if you really enjoy hiking, biking or running, there are plenty of trails within close proximity, such as Madera Canyon, Elephant Head, and in Rio Rico. Tubac is also quite famous for birding, a very popular activity on the De Anza Trail, but you don't even have to go that far, as many species visit our back yard. There are even numerous vineyards, which host a wine festival in early August each year within a reasonable driving distance. Once you visit Tubac, you will always want to come back for more!

Peaceful and quiet outside sitting area with gorgeous views of the Santa Rita Mtns. Private location on two acres, situated well away from main house on the property. A true gem of a little house, very clean, comfortable and pleasant. Private entrance and parking. Quick drive to Tubac Village and all the fun shopping, dining and historic sites in town. Tubac is an interesting, picturesque, historic southwestern town filled with artists and galleries, fun shops, delicious restaurants, and lively local bars.

This ranch style quaint 2500 SF home has just been reintroduced to short-term rental after having a long-term renter for five years. We have provided new mattresses, some new furniture and fresh paint (inside and out), along with a complete refreshing! We decided to put it on short-term rentals because we missed being there! Our home consists of a large primary bedroom with a king sized bed, an on suite bathroom with a walk-in closet. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed and southwestern furniture. Adjacent is a spacious second bathroom with insulated tub for soaking. A large sun room is accessible from both bedrooms and living area. A spacious, bright kitchen is supplied with everything you might need to create your meals. Furnishings from the area enhance the eclectic decor. A comfy sofa and chair allow you to unwind by the large television or fireplace while you recharge for your next adventure. We never heard a peep from anyone over there. We enjoyed the bird watching as well. It has a nice spacious feel and layout so that we were able to have overnight guests who had their own end of the house and their own bathroom. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed. - "My wife and I, plus 3 other couples visit Tubac every spring to play in a golf tournament at the Tubac Resort. We used to stay right at the resort, but the rooms there have gotten quite expensive. For the last 3 years, we’ve stayed in a VRBO rental. By far and away, this property was the nicest of any that we’ve stayed in near the resort. The property is on the west side of I19, sitting up on a hill with a great view of the Santa Rita Mountains off to the east. House was very clean with a week equiped kitchen. This lovely , historic, Spanish Colonial home was written about by Jane Loew in her book "Out of the Limelight". It offers you 1895 sq ft of comfort, space and luxury. From the moment we booked on VRBO, the hosts were incredibly gracious and responsive. At no time did we ever feel like we couldn’t reach out to them with questions or requests. They took a great deal of time putting the right utensils, spices, and accessories in the kitchen. Since we pick a rental over hotel on trips so we can cook our own meals, this was a huge deal for us. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are very polite. Several chit chatted with us as we were heading in and out and always made us feel welcome. The neighborhood is also teaming with wildlife. We would sit out front or on the pool observation deck and enjoy seeing deer and jackrabbits moving around the neighborhood. Tubac isn’t Las Vegas. This is the kind of place you go to get away from the trappings of the big city but still have access to many recreational activities. There’s a great golf course and wonderful shops nearby. The golf resort has a pool you will be able to use. The golf resort has 2 restaurants, Stables which has an outdoor patio, bar and fine dining. And the snack bar by the Pro Shop open for breakfast and lunch with outdoor tables.

The village is just down the street. There are galleries, gift shops, restaurants, history, a State Park calledthe Presidio will give you some background.

The HOA requires that vehicles are parked in the garage, not left in the driveway. And all garages in the neighborhood are on the smaller side. If you have an oversized vehicle you will have to park down the block, outside the gates of the community.

1.5 miles from Tubac Village, our location on 3 acres feels remote. "The Habitat", our guesthouse, is a one-of-a-kind structure designed and built by acclaimed local metal sculpture artist, Lee Blackwell. Quiet, cozy space with high ceilings and abundant natural light.

The space
The Habitat uniquely shaped structure with a small bedroom with a full size bed and small full bath located inside a metal fenced yard designed to keep critters out but not the views. The large glass front door and picture window along with the high ceiling give the inside a sense of spaciousness despite its small size. Inside is very quiet when door and windows are shut. Outside there is a sitting area next to the water fountain with a couple of chairs and coffee table.

You will be able to park your vehicle next to The Habitat. You enter by foot through a private gate next to where you park.

More than half the time our location very quiet with natural sounds. The sound of traffic is negligible or nonexistent. Given the acoustics of the Santa Cruz River Valley a small percentage of the time highway sounds are quite noticeable if one is outside.

Other things to note
Your outside space is part of a large enclosure shared by the main house where we live. We respect our guests privacy and avoid the shared space as much as possible.

Our two dogs, one friendly, one standoffish, share the outside space periodically during the day. If necessary we can keep the dogs inside.

We have our own well. The water has been tested and is delicious to drink.

Guests are welcome to walk on the property and adjacent private dirt roads.

Tubac is a destination spot for vacationers, art lovers, birders and history buffs. There isn't a stop light to be found in this little village and life here flows at a leisurely pace. But, visitors can easily find friendly residents, good food and drink and fun entertainment.

Tucked away in the heart of Tubac, this apartment is as unique as the town. Formerly part of the Grumpy Gringo Fine Cigars store, this getaway is meant for stogie lovers. It is tastefully decorated with Spanish Colonial accents. and best of all, it is pet friendly.

If you are sensitive to the smell of cigar tobacco, this might not be the best choice for you.

The space
This is a one-of-a kind Tubac experience. This property is in the heart of historic Tubac and within walking distance to art galleries, restaurants, museums and shops. And when you're done hitting the town, come back to Grumpy's, sit on the porch and puff away on a fine selection of cigars. The manager on duty will give you a quick 101 in Cigar Smoking. Plus, the regular characters can be pretty colorful!

Do note this space does not have a stove or a kitchen sink, however microwave, toaster oven and coffee pot are all right there for your use.

One wall of the apartment living area is adjacent to the cigar shop kitchen, allowing some noise to permeate the wall. Grumpy Gringo Cigars opens between 12 or 1 pm and closes at 6-7pm. It is closed on Sunday and Monday in the summer and on Monday during the winter.

Private parking behind Grumpy Gringo's Fine Cigars store leads to the entry. We have a large lot on the property for extra parking. You will love to walk, run or bike on the Historic De Anza trail, only blocks from the house, then enjoy a nice glass of wine on the patio watching an amazing Arizona sunset! You will also really enjoy visiting the historic Tumacacori mission that dates back to the late 1600’s, or just relax at the pool and hot tub which is a short walk/bike from the house. You should also spend some time browsing the many unique art galleries that line the quiet streets of the Tubac Village. Our home is perfect for a romantic getaway, where you can spend your entire trip without ever leaving Tubac. The local market is just a short walk/bike from the house and has everything you need for a gourmet meal, including specialty cheeses and a very nice wine selection. If you love golf, as we do, you can spend your days playing golf at the famous Tubac Golf Resort or at a host of other golf courses in the area (Rio Rico or Green Valley). The Golf Resort also has a Spa and a great restaurant called the Stables. Our favorite spot for dinner is the exquisite Elvira’s Restaurant – a short distance from our home. You will be blown away by the food and ambiance at this restaurant.
Finally, if you really enjoy hiking, biking or running, there are plenty of trails within close proximity, such as Madera Canyon, Elephant Head, and in Rio Rico. Tubac is also quite famous for birding, a very popular activity on the De Anza Trail, but you don't even have to go that far as many species visit our back yard. There are even numerous vineyards, which host a wine festival in early August each year within a reasonable driving distance. Once you visit Tubac you will always want to come back for more.
