Many of our guests are relocating to Silver City and others are visiting for local events such as the Tour of the Gila bike race, the Silver City Blues Festival or hiking or hunting in the Gila Forest/Wilderness. We are conveniently located within walking distance to downtown shopping, restaurants, museums, art galleries and more.
Our recently remodeled rooms are very comfortable and well stocked. In addition there is a large outdoor common area with a patio and outdoor fireplace, barbecue grill, workshop and sufficient space for secure RV or large - vehicle parking.

She suggested several nice areas for hiking / mountain biking and restaurant and nearby destination suggestions that we enjoyed. She also had info in the house on local attractions, restaurants, etc. We would definitely come back and would like to stay longer and see more of Amy's suggested destinations.."

The Heart and Wings Retreat Center offers easy access to downtown Silver City and the Gila forest. This serene getaway is five minutes from the highway and ten minutes from the center of town. You can hike or bike straight out of the house, or drive ten minutes to the Continental Divide Trail.

You'll have the second floor of the house to yourself.

The guest house is situated on twelve acres about three miles from downtown Silver City. This is the master suite of a house that contains two other rentable units, each with their own bedroom, entrance, bathroom, cooking and eating area. This adobe wing of the Heart and Wings Retreat Center has a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed, Mexican rug, hand-painted chest, and a twin sleigh bed.

The foyer includes a queen-sized sofa bed, Mexican rugs and Mexican mirror.

If guests use both the large bedroom and the sleeper sofa in the foyer to sleep, the people in the large bedroom will need to walk through the foyer, past any one of you who is sleeping on the sofa there, to access the bathroom.

The bathroom has twin Mexican sinks and Mexican tiles. The dining room is surrounded by mountain views.

Guests share use of the hot tub with the owners and renters of the two other units under the same roof.

You can regularly see deer, rabbits and quail out the bedroom window.

The location is convenient to downtown Silver City as well as the Gila National Forest. The Continental Divide Trail is a ten-minute drive away. The highway is a five-minute drive away, and it takes ten minutes to drive to the center of town.

You can hike and bike straight out the front door.

The Swan St Cottage is a quaint but cozy lodge style place located exactly in the middle of Silver City. It was our first home for our family of 6 for 10+ years and as our girls continue to grow it is updated and cared for by all of us. It took a while before we noticed one of our daughters was leaving her signature (J) on her work. It can be spotted sporadically throughout the property.

What we love…If you are looking to be in the Gila wilderness you can take a drive in various directions and be there in about 30 minutes. We have a fenced in backyard where behaved dogs are welcome with a fee. We are less than a mile from the track, schools and hospital. Even though traffic can be a little busy on weekdays around 8am and around 3pm you can’t hear it in the house or even in the backyard. We have had the same great neighbors for the last 15 years who watch out for each other. We support Local Artists who display and sell their art in the home. We have keyless entry. Yes we have WiFi. We have smart TV’s that guests can log into any streaming network they subscribe to. There is a full size washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen. Even towels designated for your out door adventures to the rivers and and lakes. We have a planet marking on the sidewalk by our front yard from the planet walk that many who pass by stop to read the plaque.

What we don’t like… I want to be upfront & clear...the neighborhood doesn’t look glamorous. Houses are close together and Swan Street is one of the busiest streets in town because we are close to the hospital, schools, and track. It is about 1 mile from downtown, however walking along and crossing highway 180 can be stressful. Especially with little ones and pets. There are some places the sidewalk disappears along the way.

If you are looking to be exactly in the center of silver city on a map, then this is the place to be. If you are looking to be in downtown, or in a remote location in the Gila National Forest, we recommend searching for a place closer to your preference.
