Woodland Park is a small quaint mountain town with awesome views of Pikes Peak. It is with in driving distance to must see sites in the area such as Pikes Peak, The Dinosaur Museum, Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, Santa's Workshop, Garden of The Gods, Cliff Dwellings, Cave of The Winds, Manitou Springs, Olympic Training Center, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and much more! Breckenridge is a beautiful 1 & 1/2 hour drive. Outside the Farmhouse are sidewalks for walking, riding bikes and absorbing the views of Pikes Peak. Memorial Park is 2 blocks away and is a small paradise with unforgettable views of Pikes Peak!

Once you arrive, you can park your car and walk to downtown where you will find shopping and dining. You can also walk to the Casino pick up area where you can catch the bus to Cripple Creek for some gambling or to catch a local theater show.

This historic 560 square foot cabin has been completely renovated. The house overlooks the pavilion next to the Culture Center and has an amazing Pikes Peak view. All of downtown Woodland Park is only a block away! You can walk to town, enjoy yourself, and not have to worry about driving back to the home.

The home has a xeriscape yard with a propane fire pit, lounge chairs, outdoor grill and patio set. The driveway is paved. Fencing provides privacy while enjoying the yard.

Inside, the home has brand new furnishings. A beautiful bronze gas fireplace provides relaxation and warmth. The Pikes Peak bedroom has a queen bed that provides an amazing view of Pikes Peak while you sit in bed. This bedroom has its own smart television. The North Bedroom has two twin mattresses (trundle bed), its own smart television, and a game alcove that includes two arcade style games and bean bags. There is a lofted area that offers a queen bed for additional sleeping needs (The loft requires a climb up a ladder and is not recommended for everyone for safety reasons. Use at your own risk: owners are not liable for injury if loft is utilized by guests). The leather sofa in the living room has a queen-sized sleeper that can be used for additional sleeping needs.

The living room and dining area are open concept with exposed ceilings. There is a large table with seating for six. The kitchen provides Pikes Peak views and easy access to the yard (Note: there is no dishwasher). The living room has a smart tv. Wi-Fi signals are strong throughout the entire home.

Every Friday, June through September, the farmers market is just a three-minute walk away. Please note public events held at the Cultural Center and pavilion can be viewed/enjoyed from the property, usually during the summer months. Please review events at www.chamberorganizer.com before booking your stay. If you want to attend these events, you are just across the street. If you do not enjoy such events, you may want to consider an accommodation located further from the Cultural Center. You are just two blocks from Memorial Park.

Please note, like most homes at this altitude there is no air conditioning system (box fans are provided for use, windows and blinds are closed during the day to keep the house cool). A certified dog sitter lives in the house and we often have dogs in our area, which is downstairs. Animals are not permitted in guest rooms. We are allergic to cats. Built by a gold prospector sometime before 1930, the cabin is one of three located on 40 acres 1-½ miles back inside the Pike National Forest. Quiet and secluded, surrounded by wildlife, the cabin was renovated in 1996 and recently updated.

The space
At 8200 feet a few miles north of Woodland Park, summers are warm in the daytime and cool at night. Far from any city lights, the view of the stars at night is amazing. Wildflowers are abundant in the surrounding forest. The annual Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory count will document over 30 species of birds in 24 hours in June just north of the cabin. Hummingbirds are regular visitors along with chipmunks, rabbits, the resident red fox, the occasional deer and elk in the spring and a black bear in late summer and fall. The cabin's water source is pumped from a stone well fed by a pure mountain spring just above the cabin. The old prospector also operated a still! Electricity is provided by the IREA. Remarkably the cabin roof and ceilings are unique; crafted from 1931 and 1932 Colorado license plates!

The old road into the property crosses Trout Creek on an old bridge that is soon to be replaced. It is safe; just proceed cautiously. Four wheel drive is recommended but not necessary during dry weather. There are several trails accessible from the cabin-find the map on the wall inside the dining room!

Other things to note
The USDA Forest Service post fire conditions at several locations between Woodland and the property. Please do not use the fireplace, outdoor fire pit, or outdoor cooker when danger of fire is above moderate. No shooting is allowed in this part of the forest. Off-road vehicles are prohibited.

Enjoy this private, peaceful mountain guest suite walking distance from a National Forest trail. It's a 5 min. drive to downtown Woodland Park for dining or swimming at the Aquatic Center. Drive 30 min. east and you have access to all Colorado Springs has to offer including Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, Old Colorado City, Pikes Peak and Manitou. Drive 30 min. west and you have access to State Parks, countless hiking trails, Rampart Reservoir & skiing is just a day trip away!

Our Cabin was built in 1947, it is a bit of Country but was recently updated with a modern flair with cool interior barn doors and decor, but we kept the nuts and bolts of the 1940's design. It has an incredible view of Pikes Peak, Woodland Park has many restaurants, family-friendly activities. Only 25 Minutes to Colorado Springs. The Cabin is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends. The cabin is cute and cozy and located just off Main Street in Woodland Park.

Our Cabin was built in 1947 and was recently updated with a modern flair with cool interior barn doors and decor. It has an incredible view of Pikes Peak. It is within 5 mins of downtown Woodland Park. Woodland Park has many restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, Dinosaur Museum, Micro Breweries, and nightlife.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets).

Please pay the 35.00 pet fee for the entire stay at the time of Booking. If you bring a pet and don't pay the pet fee we reverse the right to double the fee or turn the cabin into a NON Pet rental.

Please be honest when booking the cabin. The cleaner has to send extra time cleaning up after pets. Thank you...

The cabin is cute and cozy and located just off Main Street in Woodland Park Colorado. Walk to Farmer's market, Donut Mill, Coffee House, City Park, Movie Theatre, Restaurants, and Nightlife. The city of Woodland park is a great little Mountain Town. It has many activities throughout the year. October fest, Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Christmas Parade, Fall Colors, 4th of July celebration, and many more.

We Have NO air conditioning, We have maybe two nights a year its warm in the Mountains. We simply open the windows. We are very Close to the main rd, But the location is perfect.

We do not have to air-condition, The cabin sits at close to 9000 ft in elevation. The temperature may reach 85.

We are pet friendly. We prefer only 2 dogs because the cabin is small. If your dog damages the cabin your deposit will be charged. So if your dog needs to stay in the cabin, please bring a crate. It can be placed in the back room.

This a private room with no shared space. It is not the entire house. It is cabin decor by local artisans. The room comfortably sleeps, 4 adults. It is located at 9100 ft in a quaint mountain neighborhood. It is accessed by 2 miles of mountain dirt road. They are safe, can be rough, or have frozen precipitation year round, an AWD is needed. You will be surrounded by wildlife, pines and aspen with a view of the north face of Pikes Peak. THIS IS A TRUE MOUNTAIN NEIGHBORHOOD EXPERIENCE!

To the north and west, there are gold medal waters such as Deckers, South Platte, and The Dream Stream. We are a scenic short drive away from the historic town of Cripple Creek where you will find a train ride, casinos, restaurants, shopping, and friendly wild donkeys roaming the town. Right across the way to our east, there is a view of Rampart Range where one can find Rampart Range Road for an easy off-road drive to Garden of the Gods. And, of course, just to our south and up above another 5000 feet is the summit of Pikes Peak! We are just a 20-minute drive to Pikes Peak Highway! AGAINST TRAFFIC! Avoid those long peak season lines that literally stretch back for 3 miles.
