- "Great location. Cozy, clean place" - "We had a wonderful stay at Peaceful Pines. The cabin is warm and comfortable, clean and welcoming. The property is nicely furnished, well supplied, the perfect place for a quiet getaway. Our hosts kept in touch and were available for anything we might need (although we did not need anything that was not already there). Wrightwood is a quiet and friendly mountain community. Everywhere we went the people were friendly and helpful. My only caution about the property is that this may not be the best place for seniors with mobility or balance issues. The front steps and the shower/tub could present some challenges. With that understanding this is a warm and comfy place for a winter getaway. We will have to come back and try it out in the summer!"

The Moonlight Retreat is an 850 square foot property originally built in 1932 which has been lovingly restored and redecorated by the homeowner. Cozy on up next to the wood burning fireplace underneath the wood vaulted ceilings and enjoy the magical atmosphere that only the mountains can provide. The cabin offers a fully stocked kitchen for all of your cooking needs, a beautiful open concept bedroom, a closed-off bedroom, and a full bathroom.

The best part about this cabin is the large charming outdoor space. The entire property opens to an expansive side & front yard that provides great space for enjoying the mountain air. The back yard features an outdoor dining bistro set for 2 and a Jacuzzi.

Ideally suited and priced for two guests. We can accommodate up to four, but there is an additional $25 per person per night.

Kitchen: Two small sized refrigerators with small freezer compartments, gas range, gas oven, microwave, Keurig pod & drip coffee maker. Fully stocked with utensils, crock pot, cookware, and dishware. Our tap water is good for drinking, cooking, and everything else.

Dining Room: Located next to stairs in the main living room. Small sized table ideal for 2-4 guests.

Living Room: 3 seater couch with fireplace and Smart TV

Front Patio: Amazing space to overlook the large front yard & views.

Back/side Yard: Hot tub is situated on the side/back of the property. Dining bistro for two. Note: Neighbors are nearby and no enclosed fencing. Please, no pets.

The Moonlight Retreat is located in a small residential neighborhood with close by neighbors. Due to the terrain of the neighborhood, sound is easily carried. We ask that all guests please be respectful of our neighbors. Quiet time for the property is from 9 PM - 9 AM. Parties or loud activity will not be tolerated and will be subject to $1000 noise violation plus additional fines issued by San Bernardino County and termination of your stay.

The Location

The lodge is located one block from downtown Wrightwood and 4 miles from Mountain High Resort. The downtown area offers great eateries and entertainment, including local shops, a brewery, live music on select days, and a farmers market every Friday.

There is an abundance of gorgeous hiking trails perfect for either a quick stroll and a picnic, or more strenuous hikes to epic vistas overlooking the surrounding Angeles National Forest. For travelers looking to explore local Southern California the property is located only an hour and a half from the famous Southern California beaches. Where else can you ski and surf in the same day?!

Keep the ceiling fans on low to move the hot air down from the ceiling for circulation throughout the cabin.

SNOW ETIQUETTE:
Chain control: 4x4 and All Wheel Drive vehicles must have mud and snow or snow tires and carry chains for access in snowy weather.

Parking and trespassing violations: Many locations on the mountain are private property and violators trespassing onto private property may be cited or arrested.

Trash: the public is reminded to take out what they bring in, including trash. Please if you pack it in, pack it out!

Weather hazards: Snow and rain increase hazardous driving conditions, so please exercise additional care when driving on slippery or iced over roadways.

Loved using the hot tub at night (even in August, it cooled down enough to get in!), having coffee and wine on the front deck area, and walking into town for dinner and the Friday Farmer's Market. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and apricots and other nice touches. Neighborhood was quiet, and I took a lot of walks. We also enjoyed the views at Inspiration Point, and ziplining. The home offers a large deck to sit and take in all the sounds of nature. It has a gated backyard and a large driveway to fit multiple cars. It has wifi, 2 smart tvs and a desk in the main bedroom. There are games and puzzles throughout the home to help create fun memories. There is a full kitchen, a washer and dryer as well as a walk in shower and a bathtub.

To walk to the village, just head east on Apple and keep walking; you’ll be there in five blocks. If you head down Apple you will see the WRIGHTWOOD BREWERY , you can enjoy beer on tap, wonderful sandwiches and fresh baked pretzels! There will also be MILE HIGH PIZZA on the corner of Apple and Cedar st, fabulous food and service. They deliver, too. Ask for their $3.00 counter coupon on a large pizza (the chicken Alfredo pizza and antipasto salad with the house bleu cheese dressing is our favorite!). Further down the street on Cedar St. is a gift shop and yet another antique store. There is a public library on Apple and Pine as well as a skate park and wonderful children’s park. In town you will come across CABIN FEVER, another great gift shop, one of my favorites. They have a wide variety of wines (even Chocolate wine!) as well as mountainy gifts. Across the street is the BLUE RIDGE INN (fabulous prime rib and pumpkin bread). APPLEWOOD COURT has an ice cream parlor/homemade fudge and candy shop; they also have a darling gift shop and Christmas shop. On Park Drive there are several more restaurants. The EVERGREEN has great breakfasts; the YODELER has outdoor seating and good food and drink as well as billiards, MEXICO LINDO has reasonably priced and delicious Mexican food. The VILLAGE GRIND is a coffee shop/sandwich and wine store that offers WIFI 24/7 and live music on weekends and has amazing homemade soups. Or, walk down Pine to HWY 2 and there’s a wonderful trail that runs parallel to the Highway that will take you into town. When you travel down the path on Hwy 2, 1st stop is The WRIGHTWOOD GAS STATION (amazing biscuits and gravy to go in the am for less than $2.00 each!!!) A fantastic new shop, 6000 FEET, is on Hwy 2, right by the Mini-mart. Just up from the mini-mart is SHELDON ENTERTAINMENT CO.. with thousands of books/DVD rentals; they even have movie nights on Fri/Sat. Across the street you will see JENSENS MARKET(pricey, but well stocked).e If you continue down you will see the post office and MOUNTAIN HARDWARE (they sell sleds and chains, are dog friendly and are tremendous! A little bit of Mayberry RFD). Continue and you will cross the street at the stop sign and see the GRIZZLY CAFE (great ambiance and sweet potato fries). THE MERCANTILE is a fabulous shop right next door. ALL of the town’s restaurants have outdoor seating! Heading back down the street, on Cedar St. is a gift shop and yet another antique store. Helen St. turns into Apple Ave. If you go back towards town you will see the public library on Apple and Pine as well as a skate park and wonderful children’s park.

This is the perfect 2 bedroom, 1 bath home away from home where you can spend quiet time in the beautiful town of WRIGHTWOOD. This family friendly cabin is a short walk to downtown, and a ten-minute drive to Mountain High. You will find all the comforts of home, plus a jacuzzi.
The space
The driveway has parking for 4 cars. To access the front deck-there is 5 steps up. The living room has a remote-controlled gas log fireplace, and 2 sofas with pull out queen beds-although only one sofa bed can be open at a time and a tv. Both bedrooms have one queen size bed, the larger room has a desk, and both bedrooms have tv's. House has a kitchen, bathroom and a laundry room. House has all the basics including coffee, cream, and sugar. Back yard is fully fenced and has a jacuzzi for 4-6 people.

Guests can access every part of the house and yard- except the locked shed in the back yard.
Other things to note
It’s very important to not disturb our neighbors, especially while enjoying the jacuzzi. Please keep the noise down.

The space
You will have your own private entrance at the side of the house. Convenient parking right in front of the home on the beautiful paver stone driveway.
If you have any oil or liquid leaking from your vehicle, please park at the end of the culdesac by the vacant lot.
When you enter the Airbnb the entry way is a great place to hang your jacket or bags.
The next room is the lounge area where you can watch TV and have your morning coffee. If you are in need of washer and dryer amenities one load of laundry is complimentary per night stayed. Additional loads are extra.
The next room is the private bath and shower. Body wash and shampoo is provided for you.
The final room in this private getaway is the Bedroom attached to the bath. Enjoy a Queen size luxury bed with a full wooden canopy to give you the wilderness feel you have been waiting for. A couch and table are set up in front of the most perfect view in Wrightwood. See the town, sunset and morning glow from this elevated view of Wrightwood and Highway 2.
Enjoy downtown and hiking just a half mile away. Mountain High Ski Resort and Sky High Disc Golf is only 3.5 miles away.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
$25 Late Checkout Option: If you want to enjoy Wrightwood a little longer on your day of check out, for $25 you can checkout at 2pm. Just send $25 on the first day of your stay.
PARKING: Please park in front of the white fence. If you have an oil leak please park in front of the vacant lot in the culdesac.

EV CHARGER: must be requested and is available for a charge of $10 per day. It is a slower 110 volt J1772 charger. The charge speed is about 30% of your typical fast charger.

SEPTIC: The house is on a septic system, please do not flush anything other than toilet paper.

Guest access
Guests have their own private entrance to their Master Suite. The remainder of the house and garage is off limits.

During your stay
You can contact me via the App any time. If you are ever unable to reach me, I am very responsive via text or phone call. Please do not hesitate to call if you need something.

Other things to note
There is a dog on the premises that is fenced away. Please do not feed or pet the dog. The backyard is off limits. She is very friendly and you can call her name if she barks, Her name is Luna.
The home is just across Highway 2 to get into town. The walk is less than a mile to get to the shops and restaurant.
I would say one downfall is the space is indoor only with no access to outside but you have a wonderful view from inside and many people still enjoy their stay.

The space
We are very proud of the RUSTIC RETREAT... being 90 years old, it is a relative youngster compared to so many century old cabins in town. We try to remind our guests that these older cabins, although filled with charm, do show their age in many ways. If tentative guests are used to central air conditioning, very strong water pressure, and cookie cutter layouts, we would likely not be a good fit. This cabin is for those looking to take a nostalgic step back in time.

This 90 year old cabin boasts stained glass windows, antique "snooker" (think mini-billiards) table, an old wind up phonograph, live-edge 100 year old pine tree counters, porch swing, rock fire-place, and so many more rustic artifacts. Some of the nuances are accordion bathroom doors, and upstairs loft like bedrooms (one has a folding wood door, the other, a curtain door) and a rather tight wooden staircase to bedrooms. If you are taller than 6'3" you will not be able to stand straight in the upstairs bedrooms or bathroom. We do supply towels and all the beds will have fresh sheets & blankets on them. We have forced air heat and a portable A/C unit for the summer. If you look through all the pictures you will see photos of us renovating the cabin this past few years...it was like a huge Pinterest project!!!

Guest access
There are 10 steps up to the main floor and upstairs where you will be staying. You have the front, side and back porch and fenced in back-yard. The basement/garage is not available to guests, but might be accessed by owners during your stay. It has a separate entrance and guests will be notified before it is accessed (very rarely!).

Greetings! Welcome to our little piece of paradise at 6000 feet. We hope you have a relaxing and wonderful stay at The RUSTIC RETREAT.
FYI: the altitude may make you more tired than usual and the air is extremely dry. Drink lots of water to avoid “altitude headache” and dry mouth. Water, chewing gum, and lip balm (Vaseline for the nose and lips at night) will be your best friends! The non-readers are going to have headaches!
This is a NON-SMOKING CABIN: If you smoke outside, you MUST dispose of your butts! We are in an extremely high fire danger area and cigarette butts are a fire danger as well as being unsightly. If there is any evidence of smoking inside the cabin there will be a $400 fine as well. Please respect the house rules and appreciate that most of our guests are looking for clean mountain air and fresh smelling cabins. Please do not book with us if this is a problem.
LODGE TEMPERATURE: We have beautiful summer weather in Wrightwood. The best way to maintain comfortable conditions is to open windows at night and close them in the morning. Even though there is air conditioning, please do not run it at night or turn it lower than 74 degrees (you will risk loosing power to the whole home!). Open windows....it's a lot cooler outside (most of the time) than the AC can make it! Thanks so much and enjoy our fresh and clean mountain air! If you are use to central air, this may not be the place for you.
BATHROOMS: A half bathroom (just toilet and sink) downstairs, with another three-quarter bathroom upstairs (no tub just shower). There are extra supplies under the sink; hair dryer, lotions.... Please limit shower time as the hot water heater does not replenish very quickly and because of the extreme water restrictions we’ve been given. After seven minutes the water will get rather chilly (the non-readers are in for a surprise!) Turn the handle to 4 o’clock for a hot shower. Do not flush toilets while shower is running. Please do not flush any feminine products, hand wipes, paper towels or diaper wipes & be conservative w/toilet paper in both bathrooms.. Any plumber fees incurred for the plug up by these items will be removed from your security deposit. The wall heater must be turned off when not in use and do NOT hang any towels in front of the wall heater.
KITCHEN: There is a traditional coffee maker and filters, and full sized appliances as well as dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware… Please do not put waste down the garbage disposal. We have a septic tank and it is far too hard on the system. We are under extreme water restrictions, so if you would like to help out by washing your dishes above the big black pot under the dish cabinet and then throwing the water onto the saplings in the back yard or any other plants, the plants and I would thank you! We have a container next to the sink for compost. When full, put it on the front porch and text me & I will empty it in our large compost container & return it to you.
TRASH: There is a trash can AND a blue recycling can in the kitchen. They can be emptied into the APPROPRIATE roll outs by the garage. CRV cans/bottles can be placed in the blue can for pick up. Many do not recycle at home; it is required here!
UPSTAIRS LOFT BEDROOMS: The carpeted bedroom to the left has a queen bed. The bedroom on the right has two double beds and also is carpeted; this bedroom does not have a door, but a curtain. All beds have built in reading lights behind the beds. Please supervise your children if they are young, the staircase is narrow and all wood.
GREAT ROOM: We have a Smart TV 50” flatscreen. Volume control is on the side of the remote. The wooden cabinet has a variety of vintage toys and games. There is a tiny old TV with a built in VCR in the somewhat hidden cabinet under the peninsula by the back door. I have lots of videos…welcome to the ‘80’s! The TV is not plugged in…you need to pull it out and put it where you would like. The stairs going downstairs are not to be used as the door is locked to our storage area.
LIVING ROOM: the dining table is in this room as well as a sofa in front of the fireplace. There is a flatscreen TV with DVD player…not a Smart TV…only plays DVD’s.
LINENS: for all three beds are provided
WATER: Wrightwood tap water is under high pressure and full of bubbles. The bubbles will disappear within a minute and you’ll have crystal clear water. I love Wrightwood water and think you will too! Again, you want to be drinking copious amounts of water; please don’t make me say, “I told you so!”
FIREPLACE: Please do not light a fire if you are not familiar with how to; always keep the screen up! We supply one Duraflame log per winter night (starting mid-December). If you know how to build a fire and want to add a log NEVER add more than one piece of wood to the Duraflame. NEVER LEAVE THE CABIN IF YOU HAVE A LIVE FIRE. We have an ash bucket on the rock deck for cold ashes.
FRONT DECK: Firepit: In a nutshell, turn upper dial to 9 o’clock and then depress the button below the dial. If it clicks but does not ignite, you likely need to make sure the gas on the tank is turned on. NEVER LEAVE IT UNATTENDED
PHONOGRAPH:: We have a 100 year old hand crank “talking machine.” There are detailed instructions in the phonograph. Please do not let children handle the phonograph.

This home is near the highway. There are times when you may hear traffic driving by, the town is so very quiet otherwise. We offer a sound machine if needed.

Pets: We are a pet-friendly home, however, we ask that you clean up after your pet outside. Please do not allow the pet on the couch or beds. $35 per pet, standard pet fee per stay.
$50 fine if dog poop is not cleaned up by pet owner at check out. (Poop bags are available outside)

During winter months:
At certain times, snow chains will be required. Snow removal at the home will be discussed privately if needed during your stay.

LODGE TEMPERATURE: Summer: Open windows around 5 pm and close them in the morning. The downstairs bedroom is the coolest place in the house as it is partially subterranean. The back deck is also the cooler of the two decks during the day. We have a portable AC unit that works well.
KITCHEN: There is NO GARBAGE DISPOSAL. We are on septic and it’s too hard on the system. Please do not put any grease or other food product down the sink. We have a compost container next to the coffee maker and a composter out in the front yard (no dairy or meat products). It takes a while for sink water to get hot; rather than waste all that water down the sink, please let it run into the pot and water the plants outside. There is a coffee maker and filters, a toaster and blender in the cabinet to the right of the refrigerator and a built in microwave oven. Trash & Recycling MUST be separated; we get fined $50 if the trash company finds trash in recycling or visa versa! CRV containers may be put in the additional bin by the roll outs. Those benefit the local elementary school.
BATHROOMS: There are two full bathrooms, one off the Master bedroom (pull shower handle towards you to turn on water...it might be stiff) the other in the hallway. In Wrightwood we all have septic tanks so we must be mindful of what gets flushed; do not use more TP than necessary and do not flush any feminine products, hand wipes, paper towels, hair or diaper wipes. Any plumber fees incurred for the plug up by these items will be removed from your security deposit. Please remember to limit shower times to less than seven minutes. Even though we have a newer water heater, there is a limit to the amount of hot water!
MASTER BEDROOM: The king bed is made with fresh linens. There are fun cabin themed pj’s in the dresser. If you use any, please leave them out on the bed to be washed. In closet you will find a shower chair and raised toilet seat.
SECONDARY BEDROOM: There is a queen bed in here as well as a large closet with a pack ‘n play, Bumbo, high chair and a crib mattress. If you use the Pack and Play, please do not fold it up or put it away. Leave it out so it can be sanitized before the next guests’ use. Please turn down a corner of the comforter of each USED bed so it is obvious it was used.
DORMER: The downstairs bedroom is partially subterranean and naturally stays cooler than the rest of the house. No matter how high you set the house thermostat, it won’t warm up as much as the rest of the house. We have plenty of extra blankets…this room is a favorite in the summer!
LINENS: PLEASE SLEEP BETWEEN THE SHEETS, not between the top sheet and comforter. Pull back the bedspread and sheets of any used beds so it is obvious that the bed was used.
WATER: Wrightwood tap water is under high pressure and full of bubbles. The bubbles will disappear within a minute and you’ll have crystal clear water. I love the mineral rich Wrightwood water and think you will too! Again, you want to be drinking copious amounts of water; please don’t make me say, “I told you so!”
YARD: The yard is fenced in for medium and large dogs. Our 20 pound dog could squeeze through the front fence until he fattened up to 27 pounds. If your dog is a digger, please supervise and please clean up any “gifts.” If you have any old skis (any kind, any age, any shape) you would like to donate towards the ongoing “ski wall” project, please bring them up and leave them on the front deck…better than going to a landfill and you will be able to see them in a place of honor.
BBQ: We supply a gas barbecue, please do not move it from its platform in the yard. Please clean grill after use
FIRE PIT: May only be used when it is 100% adult supervised. Do not have the fire on high. Please text me if you run out of propane. NEVER leave it unattended; we WILL get reported!
POWER SHORTAGE SUPPLIES: In the event of a power shortage, there are supplies in a basket above the refrigerator as well as battery backup nightlights.

We are very proud of the Lilac... being almost a century old cabin we remind our guests that these older cabins, although filled with charm, do show their age in many ways. If tentative guests are used to central air conditioning, very strong water pressure, and cookie cutter layouts, we would likely not be a good fit. However, for those looking to take a nostalgic step back in time, I am sure we would be perfect.

You’ll feel right at home the moment you step inside this cottage’s cozy interior, boasting original wood floors, comfortable furnishings, knotty pine walls and ceilings and a large native rock fireplace. Look out any of the numerous double paned windows and take in the pine trees and lilac bushes.

The locked door to the left of the fireplace is not to be opened as it leads to the utility room which you will not be using.
Lodge Temperature: SUMMER: portable AC unit in living room. Upstairs bedroom will get VERY warm on warm summer days. If you are not using that room, close the door. If you are using it, keep the door open so warm air will escape through that window. It will cool down at night. WINTER: Wall heater in living room, control is on adjacent wall. Please turn down heat to 50 when you leave the cabin for any length of time. Do NOT turn off heat in the winter as the pipes will freeze!. Leave it on 50 degrees when you check out. For the bedrooms to get warm you will need to keep the doors open (again, the non-readers will be chilly!). Heat rises so the upstairs bedroom will get very warm. Close the door and crack the window to the room and it will be very comfortable! If the upstairs bedroom is not being used, please keep its door closed. If you bring a space heater, DO NOT RUN IT WITH ANY OTHER APPLIANCE GOING…YOU WILL LOSE POWER.
BATHROOM: There are extra supplies under the sink as well as in the basket in the cabinet, i.e. hair dryer, lotions.... Please limit shower time as the hot water heater does not replenish very quickly and because of the extreme water restrictions we’ve been given. After seven minutes the water will get rather chilly (the non-readers will be in for a chilly surprise!). In Wrightwood we all have septic tanks so we must be mindful of what gets flushed. Please do not flush any feminine products, hand wipes, paper towels or diaper wipes. Any plumber fees incurred for the plug up by these items will be removed from your security deposit. There is no bathtub.
KITCHEN: Apartment sized refrigerator, microwave. and gas oven. Fully stocked with dishes, utensils, cups, pots and pans, traditional coffee maker, and toaster. Feel free to use or leave behind any condiments and/or food items in the refrigerator and cabinets. Please do not run more than one extra appliance concurrently as this is an older home and we don’t want to blow a fuse. Please do not put waste down the sink as there is no garbage disposal; we have a septic tank and it is far too hard on the system. The light switch for the above sink light is right behind it against the wall. Please put garbage in the trash, but we appreciate you composting, too! We have a COMPOSTER right outside the kitchen door. Coffee grounds and filters, egg shells, fruit and veggie scraps, paper towels, bread products… PLEASE DO NOT PUT IN ANY MEAT OR DAIRY PRODUCTS.
TRASH: There is a roll out trash can and recycling can in the driveway. There is an additional metal can for CRV recycling (benefits local students!). Trash and recycling MUST be separated. Trash pick up is on Tuesday early morning. If you are at the cabin on Monday night, please roll the cans to the street. We are under extreme water restrictions, so if you would like to help out by washing your dishes above the big pot under the sink and then throwing the water onto the lilacs in the front yard or any other plants, the plants and I would thank you!!! The kitchen door has a funky old lock on it that only locks from the inside. Don't lock yourself out!
FIRST BEDROOM: The first room as a queen size bed and a small closet.
SECOND BEDROOM: this lovely room has a full size bed with a small closet just like the first.
UPSTAIRS BEDROOM: This small carpeted bedroom has a twin bed and is stocked with toys…perfect room for the kiddos. In the hall closet there is a Pack and Play, baby gate, and fold out mattress. Please supervise young children on the stairs. If you are not using this room in the winter, keep the door closed so the heat stays downstairs. This room gets very warm (heat rises), please crack the window if the door is open.
LIVING ROOM: There is a 50” inch wall mounted flat screen SmartTV. We have Wifi, so feel free to stream, but remember to log out of your account before you check-out. Please keep the remote out of the reach of little ones as pushing the wrong buttons will disable the TV. Please return remotes to the kitchen counter.

To turn them on just twist the bulb in. There is a front deck with a small table and chairs. There is also a secluded sitting area in the front yard surrounded by lilac bushes.
FIREPLACE: We supply one Duraflame log per night IN THE WINTER for those who are not familiar with lighting traditional fires. This is a traditional fireplace…make sure flue is open and only use one Duraflame log at a time. IF IT IS WINDY, DO NOT LIGHT A FIRE. Never leave a fire lit if you are leaving the cabin.

The Location

The home is located less than a block away from the village, 4 miles to Mountain High Resort, and a scenic 6 mile drive to the scenic Inspiration Point. The village provides great eateries and entertainment including local shops, brewery, live music on select days, and a local farmer's market every Friday.

There is an abundance of gorgeous hiking trails perfect for either a quick stroll and a picnic, or more strenuous hikes to epic vistas overlooking the surrounding Angeles National Forest. Guest access
Our guests will be able to access the whole cabin and yard. The detached garage is locked and is not accessible to guests. If we need to use it during your stay, we will let you know ahead of time.

Other things to note
SUMMER: we have a window AC unit in the twin bedroom and ceiling fans in bedrooms and living room. Even on the hottest days, the cabin stays comfy if windows are opened in the evening to let the cool air in and closed in the morning to keep the cool air in. If you are used to central air under 75 degrees, this cabin is probably not for you in the summer.
WINTER: Wall heater is in the hallway. The temperature control is a green dial behind a pull down panel at the bottom of the hallway heater. We will have it set at 1 which should be very comfortable. If you need it warmer, turn green dial higher. Do not touch black dial (this is for the pilot). If the pilot goes out, you will shut down the heater completely. If you are used to central heat, want it warmer than 75 degrees inside, and want to run around in shorts when there is a blizzard outside, this cabin is probably not for you in the winter.

BATHROOM: There is one full bathroom. In Wrightwood we all have septic tanks so we must be mindful of what gets flushed; do not use more TP than necessary and do not flush any feminine products, hand wipes, paper towels, hair or diaper wipes. Any plumber fees incurred for the plug up by these items will be removed from your security deposit. Please remember to limit shower times to less than ten minutes. Even though we have a newer water heater, there is a limit to the amount of hot water!

KITCHEN: There is NO GARBAGE DISPOSAL. We are on septic and it’s too hard on the system. Please do not put any grease or other food product down the sink. Let any grease solidify and then put in trash can. It takes a while for sink water to get hot (pull lever up); rather than waste all that water down the sink, please let it run into a pot and water the plants outside. There is a coffee maker, filters and coffee and a microwave oven. Refrigerator is 7.5 cubic feet...1/2 the size of a standard one.
TRASH & RECYCLING: Call me a tree hugger, but it is required that you separate trash from recycling. We have containers for each under the kitchen counter and roll outs for each outside. We know lots of folks don't separate their trash because they don't have the containers at home. Well, we do and care for our environment. If this is not your style, this cabin may not be a good choice for you.
COMPOST: We have a compost container on the kitchen counter. The Earth and I thank you for contributing your fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and filters, paper napkins, egg shells and all food product except dairy or meat. If it fills up during your stay you may dump it in the composter next to the trash cans.
MASTER BEDROOM: The king bed is made with fresh linens.
2ND BEDROOM: There are 2 twin beds in here as well as a small closet w/baby supplies (Pack and Play, high chair, play mat, Bumbo). Please turn down a corner of the comforter on the bed if it was used.
LINENS: Pull back the bedspread and sheets of any used beds so it is obvious that the bed was used.
WATER : Wrightwood tap water is under high pressure and full of bubbles. The bubbles will disappear within a minute and you’ll have crystal clear water. I love Wrightwood water and think you will too! Again, you want to be drinking copious amounts of water; please don’t make me say, “I told you so!”
YARD: The huge yard is all fenced in. The small yard behind the house has a gate you may close if you don’t want your pup in the large yard. If your dog is a digger or very small, please supervise and please clean up any “gifts.” We occasionally have gophers, so please watch for gopher holes in the yard.
PLAYHOUSE : There is a wonderful playhouse in the yard. Please supervise and make sure toys do not end up in the yard. Thanks!
PLAY STRUCTURE: Supervised play on the slide, swings, and small climbing wall is recommended.

With a new organic queen bed, small convertible sofa bed, bidet-equipped bathroom, and convenient amenities like fiber WiFi and a washing machine and dryer, guests can enjoy a peaceful retreat in this awesome hideaway. Whether you're looking to relax indoors or explore the great outdoors, we think our place will help you experience everything Wrightwood has to offer.

The space
Please read all of this carefully. This space has many great hidden gems but you must know how they work. The guesthouse is connected to the main house. There are other tenants in the main house. Hopefully you will not hear them, I am working on sound proofing. You will have the deck, bathroom, kitchenette, and dining area all to yourself. When you walk in there’s the dining area with a slim bar style table. With coffee, hot chocolate, creamers, teas, snacks, and sweeteners. There’s a Bear domino game to enjoy. To the left is the bathroom. In the shower there are 2 knobs the top one is to turn on the either the rain fall head or the hand held. The bottom knob is to adjust the temperature. It does have a qsafety button if you want the water hotter you have to press the safety button and turn it up, but I have it set pretty warm so you may not need to. If for some reason it doesn’t get hot please notify me right away. I have a tankless water heater and sometimes it needs to be reset. The hand held is on a bar to adjust the height turn the knob on the holder until it freely moves make sure you hold it with your other hand set the perfect height and tighten it . If you stay longer than a couple of days and or you shed a lot of hair, the drain is a little difficult please call me and I will fix it. Salon quality Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are all labeled. There are extra towels in the cupboard underneath the sink along with a hair dryer and a bath mat for people with sensitive feet. There you will also find the remote to the bidet and the instructions. The bidet has an automatic opening and closing system. If it doesn’t open automatically gently tap the button on the bottom with your toe. Tap once more and the seat will lift open. One more time and it closes and flushes. The seat and the water is warm. You may set the temperature to your liking. In the bedroom to the left there is a table that you can work at. There is 1 brand new organic queen size bed and a small convertible sofa bed. If you need a bassinet, playpen or a cot please let me know. The projector is mounted on a shelf with the blue ray/dvd player. The remote control is in the little drawer next on the desk. There are remote controls for the ceiling light/fan, projector/tv, twinkle lights(labeled lights, that are inside the projection nook), and for the candles (inside and outside on the table) There’s some first aid supplies and phone chargers there as well. The remote for the ceiling light and fan has numbers on it which indicates fan speed. You can run only the fan by turning off the lights from the remote. There are extra blankets in the blue storage chest. The other stand up light turns on with a twist of the knob in the center of the top platform. The record player also has Bluetooth capabilities. In the nook there is a small heater that looks like a fireplace. To adjust the heat there is a knob you can turn it right or left depending on how hot you want it. When both of the toggle switches are down position the heat is on. If only the one on the right is down the light will come on with no heat, so you can enjoy the look of a fire. There is central heating but I don’t run it much so you can get the room temperature to your liking. There is an air conditioning unit next to the bed, which also has a remote and thermostat simply set it to your liking.
The metal door leads to the laundry room and second exit. The kitchenette is separated into two sections the stove and oven need a little patience, press the knob turn and hold until it lights. For the oven turn it to the temperature you need and then press and hold keep the door open so you can see it light. Once it is lit close the door. It will heat up quickly. The exhaust fan has 3 settings and a light. There is a light under the upper cabinet to the right. The fire extinguisher blanket and trashcan are located underneath the kitchen sink.  There are pots, pans, a blender, and an electric kettle for you to use under and along side the oven. There you will find a drying rack for your dishes. The utensils and Dinnerware are in the teal bread box on top of the counter, there are chopsticks in the pull out drawer in the back. In cupboard to the right of the stove are wine glasses, glasses and paper plates. Organic oil, and spices are there for you. The other part is next to the table is the microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven,  and refrigerator. There is drinking water in the fridge. If you have any questions please ask. I hope you have an amazing stay.

The large deck with a beautiful view. A cozy bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette all private. I have been working on sound proofing(not an easy task), so hopefully you have the utmost privacy. You have access to the washer and dryer downstairs. It is a common area. Please let me know in advance if you need to use it

We are pet friendly. If you have serious cat allergies this is not the place for you Please take your time and get familiar with all the amenities. There is a tankless water heater. If the water doesn’t get hot right away please contact me right away. Sometimes it has to be reset. There are several restaurants and bars in town which is a brisk walk or a couple minute drive. Jackson lake is about 15 minute drive and Mountain High is a short 7 minute drive.

*******This is a quiet community in the evenings. If my neighbors complain about the noise after hours I will have to pass along the fine to you and you will be charged $1000.

If you smoke inside you will be charged $250. For the cleaning fee to get the smell out of the walls and bedding. You may smoke on the deck there is an ashtray. Please make sure all butts go in the ashtray

The space
The Wrightwood Cabin has been fully remodeled and decorated. The cabin is a 1974 gambrel-style (modified A-frame) cabin. Reset, reflect, and reconnect. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, we hope enjoy every part of your stay; from making coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing on the deck surrounded by pine trees and a starry night sky. Our vintage cabin is centrally located in Wrightwood. Perfect for the family, friend vacation or romantic getaway. Built in 1974 but remodeled in 2022, modified A-frame Grambrel retains all the vintage architecture + character but with a modernized look. All new beds and luxury bedding.

Guest access
The entire space is included in this rental, except for 2 outdoor storage units. Please, make yourself at home.

Please park right in front of the cabin or in the driveway.

No Large Parties Allowed:
Large parties are prohibited. Our cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood and noise (even in small amounts) is amplified very easily around. Please be respectful of your noise levels while out on our decks, especially after 10pm and early morning.

No ATVs or Dirt Bikes:
Dirt bikes or ATVs are not allowed to be used on our private roads. Near our cabin are tons of great ATV trails, let us know and we can help guide you where to go!

Pet-friendly:
We do allow you to bring your very well-behaved dog. There is a pet fee and you will incur an extra cleaning fee if any accidents happen. We ask that the pet is crated when you are not in the cabin. Also, we do not have a fence surrounding the cabin so your pet must always be on a leash outside.

Service Animals:
Please let us know before you visit that you will be bringing an ADA-approved service dog.

Parking:
We have room for 5 cars, 2 that can fit in our driveway, and the rest can be parked in the front of the cabin. Spring/Summer months the driveway is fine to use. In Winter months, depending on ice and snow, the downhill driveway could be tough to get out of if you do not have chains. You must not block the street and are subject to a fine if you do. During the Winter months, we also have a private gate to our home that will need a passcode to enter. We will supply after booking.

Chains:
If you book a stay between November - May you should anticipate winter road conditions and the possibility of needing cables/chains to travel to Wrightwood. Please check road conditions and weather forecasts before driving up.

Property Boundaries:
In our neighborhood, there are no fences. We love that this gives an open feel and provides beautiful views; however, it is good to remember that not all the land you see is our property. Our front and back yard are yours to enjoy, but please stay out of neighboring properties — especially after it snows.

Security Cameras:
We have 1 security camera + floodlight located on the side of our house as well as 1 Ring Doorbell camera at our main door. We respect our guest's privacy. Cameras are not monitored and are there for security purposes.

Plumbing:
Due to its location, the cabin is on a septic system. Please use only provided toilet paper or septic-safe tissue, and do not flush anything else in the toilet even if it says "flushable".

Age Requirement:
Must be 21 years old to rent The Wrightwood Cabin.

Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, our property manager is only minutes away.

The space
The Cozy Cub Cabin has been fully remodeled and decorated. The cabin was thoughtfully designed with families in mind. There are multiple magical play spaces to keep the kids busy while the adults have time to rest and unwind. After the kids are tucked into their own kid-sized bunk bed, relax on the deck surrounded by pine trees and a starry night sky with views all the way to the desert or enjoy a movie in front of a roaring fire. Minutes to the town center and Mountain High Ski Resort. Or just have fun sledding in our yard when there is snow...sleds, kid's "snowboard", and hot chocolate are all included.

Smoking of any kind (including but not limited to cigarettes, vapes, marijuana, pipes) is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. Wrightwood is in an extremely high fire risk area. Please be respectful of our forest.

If any problems arise, reach out! We want you to have a 5 star stay and will work hard to earn it.

-WINTER WEATHER TRAVELERS: A snow shovel will be provided, but the host cannot guarantee snow removal. Be prepared with any necessary equipment to safely drive away if it snows during your visit. Check road conditions prior to trip to determine if tire chains are needed.

It's cold in the winter! Please watch your step as some surfaces can get icy overnight and become very slippery.

The mountain area is prone to scheduled and unscheduled power outages. Just one of the joys of living in nature.

Everything needed to stay for a short or long visit. Less than a 10 minute walk to town and 4 miles from Mountain High Ski resort. The home offers a large deck to sit and take in all the sounds of nature. It has a gated backyard and a large driveway to fit multiple cars. It has wifi, 2 smart tvs and a desk in the main bedroom. There are games and puzzles throughout the home to help create fun memories. There is a full kitchen, a washer and dryer as well as a walk in shower and a bathtub.

The space
The living room, kitchen and dining room are a nice open floor plan. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking appliances and tools to make and serve meals. The living room offers a large smart tv and has a small gaming table. The spacious main bedroom has smart tv as well as a desk if a work station is necessary that looks out into the backyard.

Other things to note
Wrightwood homes are built on septic tanks so please only flush toilet paper. All other items such as diapers, feminine products, hand towels, etc should be thrown in a waste bin. If a clog should occur and a plumber is needed due to any non septic friendly item the guest will be responsible for the service fee. Also, the plumbing is on a septic tank so please do not flush Wrightwood.

Please DO NOT use the Fireplace. The home has central heating.

This is a two-bedroom A-frame cabin on the main level front of the property with spacious, private fenced side yard is entirely for guests. Property manager lives on separate lower/back area of the property. No Access is provided to the separate, lower level area. Again, the back yard and North side yard that is North of the house (to the right as you are facing the front door) is for property manager and is off- limits to guests. Guests have access to the fully fenced back deck and fully fenced North side yard as well as front yard.

> This is absolutely NOT a "party" house; The host/property caretakers live just a few doors down.
> NO UNDERAGE DRINKING. Any outdoor vulgar language or drunk/stoned/drug activity will be cause for termination of stay and a $500 fine.
> The person who reserved the home must be staying and assumes full responsibility. Only the amount of guests contracted for are allowed in the cabin at any time. The cabin has exterior video cameras. Unregistered guests or pets are charged $1000 per person/pet per night (county fine amount). If you have additional guests (up to 3 persons total in house) just add them to the reservation prior to your stay. Four guests are included in the reservation price but must be registered.
> ABSOLUTELY NON-SMOKING, TOBACCO/VAPING/ MARIJUANA (only smoking allowed is on street and butts MUST be properly disposed of). Don't bring the stink in...our guests respect fresh-smelling cabins. $500 FINE FOR ANY SIGNS OF SMOKING.
