Easy check in and out. I would go back again!" - "The building and apartment were modern and adequately appointed. The only issue was a smell that was coming from the air conditioner or the plumbing. When we arrived the unit smelled strongly of bleach. We opened the windows to let it air out and then closed them and went out to explore. We returned the apartment smelled of either mildew in the HVAC or odors coming up from the pipes. I think it was the plumbing. Hopefully you get a different room or they figured the problem out. It's a great blend of historical (the building itself) and modern (the rooms and decor). It's tucked away on a quiet street and super walkable to all the major sights & sites of Cadiz. The room we stayed in was very spacious, beautifully decorated and super comfortable. Honestly, the bathroom was even my favourite hotel bathroom on this trip! (Powerful shower and lots of storage space for toiletries!) 😂 No issues with outside noise even though we faced onto the street. There's also an awesome little gallery on the main floor and nice art throughout the hotel, and a rooftop bar & patio, which seems super popular with locals and guests alike. The staff were super lovely and helpful. We reserved parking with our room and the parking lot is huge and an approx.10-minute walk from the hotel (easiest to do a drop-off / pick-up of bags directly in front of the hotel). "

Both messages were responded to saying this was fine. However when we finally arrived, the building was completely closed. Ringing and knocking did not get a response neither did a phone call. An email finally got a response to say my brother will let you in. Which after 10 minutes happened, rather grumpily on both sides. The room was good, echoes of history clear. But all showing their age. Dusty and faded. The bathroom shutters didn’t close and the shower curtain around the claw foot bath barely covered 1/4 of the bath meaning we showered exposed to the outside view and water went all over floor with every wash and trickled into bedroom. We saw no staff for all 3 days apart from a cleaner. On our final evening we returned to find scaffolding outside our 2nd floor windows then woke the next morning to find a man painting the window frame and walls directly outside our room. No amount of gesticulating dissuaded him and as we were leaving that morning, shutters wouldn’t move and curtain was inadequate, we were forced to shower in full view of the painter ! Very upsetting. Still no staff anywhere to be found so we left with no opportunity to resolve any issues. Felt thoroughly underwhelmed "

All the hotels we have stayed at offer you at least a bottle of water, especially in the summer, and coffee even if it is in the hotel's lo by or common areas. Not here. You have to pay for the breakfast but if you want to eat there you have to let them know the day before othereise there is no breakfast made, served or available. This is a major drawback for us that are used to drinking coffee first thing in the morning. On a positive note, the room was clean and had good quality toiletries. A little noisy outside of the room because the stairs leading to the 3rd floor are right outside the room and your can hear the people coming in late at night. "

Back indoors, the air-con was great, as was the shower, especially on a cold setting after a day in the heat. The only negative is that the 200 year old sewers could do with an upgrade. Our purchase of a plug-in diffuser helped in that regard. Vivian couldn't have been a better host. She recommended places to visit, booked taxis for us and even placed a bottle of fino in the fridge as part of the 'more than essentials' welome package. "

- "Accessing the property was difficult (on a very hot day) and they seemed surprised at our arrival. However, mother and daughter were polite and eventually showed us to our room which was pleasant. We had to remove limescale from the shower head but other than that is was clean and beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful terrace that was several times larger than the room. However, be prepared a tour guide may come through with coach party. The hotel was quirky in all respects which was quite engaging!! The dining room was huge and full of produce but most of it was for sale. Breakfast was included but limited for me as I don't eat pork or cheese. The fruit was quite old. A fresh small omelette was cooked and i had toast. There was no fresh milk. I think fresh coffee and tea would be better than the machine drinks provided. I am glad we stayed at the hotel but it was quiet and dark so I wasnt sorry to leave. "

The space
House with ONLY kite and surf people staying. Nice light sunny house on a very nice location. Far more quiet than in town but 2 minutes away from the center. Rooms get not really hot in summer and almost no mosquitos. House on 1st and 2nd floor and downstairs there is a big courtyard. There are only 3 private rooms in the house and 2 bathrooms (one with hot tub and one with shower), a kitchen / living room, books and magazines. We have a sweet kite/surf dog staying who makes every guest feel welcome. She makes everyone fall in love with her!

The house is spacious and in a quiet residential area. It is distributed on three floors:

- **Ground Floor**: It has two terraces. The rear terrace features a table with chairs and a garden space with a barbecue. This floor also includes a living/dining room, a single bathroom and a kitchen, all very spacious.

- **Second Floor**: It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The shared bathroom is equipped with a tub/shower, wc, washbasin and bidet. Also, there is a shared kitchen. All of these spaces are shared except an en-suite bathroom and of course the private bedrooms.

- **Third Floor**: Private area, not included in rental.

The rented room has a shared bathroom (shower/bathtub, WC) with the guests from the other private room. There is also a separate WC downstairs.

- You share the house with me and with my small, clean, quiet and family friendly puppy. I practice kitesurfing from time to time and I also like to go out. I always respect the silence of my neighbors and ask you to do the same.

Cute little beach house tarifa close to the sea in the middle of the Natural Park of the Straits of Gibraltar, 100m from the Sea with a terrace with sea views, perfect for a peaceful holiday.

The house is 30m2 with a 50m2 little garden. It is inside a bigger property, and each house has its individual private garden. It has one small kitchen-living room, one small bedroom with a double bed and a small bathroom. There is access to Internet WIFI. The terrace is beautiful.

It is selfsuficient in electricity produced by the wind and sun. Lots of beautiful walks in the area of this Natural Park of the Straits of Gibraltar

It is necessary to have a car in this property, although you could just have a bicycle also.

Trendy Tarifa is only a couple of kilometers away (a beautiful, 25 minute walk along the cliffs; just eight minutes by car) but right here there is nothing but peace, tranquility and the sound of silence, amazing seascapes and the stunning nature of the Natural Park all around, plunging dramatically down to wild, rocky bays.

Access to this remote, heavenly spot is pretty good considering the terrain all around is so spectacular. Until recently these hills were the sole domain of the Spanish military; they have left now but the roads and tracks they built through the steep hills and valleys remain. The road to the villa is tarmaced, if a little narrow and bendy in places; only the last 800 metres to the house is dirt track. This bit is a little bumpy but easily negotiable in an ordinary car with due care and attention.

It's about as ecological as can be here. There's no mains electricity in this remote corner of Spain, so everything works on solar and wind power; water comes from local wells. There's no air conditioning either, the fresh sea breezes and the stone construction of the villa keep everything cool, even on the hottest of summer days.

There are a million things to do from here, quite apart from reveling in this amazing location. A plethora of coastal and countryside tracks to be explored, an abundance of wild flowers everywhere, a new and always sensational view to be enjoyed at every turn. Only a few roaming cows on the hillsides and the occasional fisherman down on the rocks to keep you company. It's magical!

There are plenty of excellent restaurants and night spots in and around Tarifa, mile upon mile of white, sandy beaches on the Costa de la Luz immediately beyond. There are beautiful white villages in inland Cádiz to visit, wind and kite surfing, diving, golf, horse riding et al. And the capital of the province, Cádiz itself, is well worth a day trip. A very friendly city with a unique atmosphere, it continues to evoke the romance and mystery of centuries of trade (some legal, some not so) between Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Morocco is only 35 minutes away from Tarifa on the high speed catamaran … 35 minutes which will take you to a totally different world. Ferries also leave from Algeciras and, either way, it's a wonderful trip, especially on the longer, 3 hour trip from Algeciras, the ship accompanied through the Straits by dolphins and whales.
