The space
Enjoy the comfort and privacy of our thoughtfully designed room, located within my home. Although it's part of the main house, we've created a separate entrance and private yard exclusively for your use, ensuring a locked and secluded space that remains completely private from the rest of the house.

Inside the room, you'll find everything you need for a cozy stay. The full bathroom offers convenience and privacy, allowing you to freshen up at your own pace. Relax on the comfortable full-sized bed, perfect for a restful night's sleep after a day of exploration.

To accommodate your storage needs, a wardrobe is provided, offering ample space to keep your belongings organized and easily accessible. We've also included a mini fridge, electric kettle, and coffee pot for your convenience. Whether you prefer a hot cup of coffee in the morning or want to store some snacks and beverages, these additions ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Fresh towels and bedding are provided to enhance your comfort, and we take pride in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a pleasant environment throughout your stay.

Our room offers the convenience of a hotel room with a touch of thoughtfulness. We've carefully added these amenities to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable experience during your visit.

Guest access
When you arrive at our property, convenient street-side parking is available along Navajo Trail, next to the cinderblock fence line. From there, you'll notice a white gate at the top of the driveway. Follow the concrete walkway on the left side of the house, leading you to your own private yard and the entrance to the rental.

Within the private yard, you'll find an outdoor gas grill and comfortable seating, providing the perfect setting for enjoying some fresh air and relaxation.

As you step into the rental, you'll first enter a mudroom, thoughtfully designed to keep your belongings organized and minimize clutter in the sleeping area. Hang jackets and purses and kick off your shoes, ensuring a tidy and welcoming space.

Through the second door in the mudroom, you'll enter the sleeping area. This cozy space features a full-sized bed, a wardrobe with a mirror for hanging garments, and ample storage for suitcases, extra blankets, sheets, and towels. We've made sure to provide all the essentials to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

For your convenience, a mini fridge is available to store any groceries or leftovers you might have. Additionally, we've provided tea and coffee, so you can enjoy a hot beverage at your leisure.

We've taken care of the details to ensure that your stay is convenient and comfortable from the moment you arrive.

Other things to note
As a clothing designer working full-time from home, I want to inform you that the room you'll be staying in is located adjacent to my sewing studio. While I have taken steps to minimize noise, it's possible that you may occasionally hear some sounds associated with my work throughout the day. Please rest assured that I will be respectful of your privacy and will do my best to maintain a quiet and peaceful environment during your stay.

Additionally, I want to note that several of my neighbors have dogs and throughout the day they can be heard barking at one another. I have good relationships with all of my neighbors and will always help mitigate any noise issues.

Furthermore, please be aware that I own a motorcycle, which will often be parked in the driveway. There may be instances where you hear the sound of the motorcycle when I am entering or exiting the property. I will strive to minimize any disturbances and be mindful of noise levels to ensure your comfort.

Despite these factors, I am committed to providing you with a pleasant and enjoyable stay. If you have any concerns or special requests, please don't hesitate to communicate them to me, and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.

This is a room and bathroom with share kitchen in a classic ranch house situated on a large lot of the desert, with a look over the valley. Stunning trees and desert plants. Minutes away from Joshua tree National Park.

The space
The space is semi private with a shared kitchen and private full bathroom. The patio door opens up to the hot tub, that is slatted for privacy. The hot tub is a great way to relax after a long hike or your daily activities.

Our spacious and comfortable bedroom is furnished with a King-size bed, cozy linens, and plenty of pillows to ensure a restful night's sleep. You'll find everything you need for your quiet cozy stay. You can expect:

*Since there is no kitchen access, you are welcome to bring your own Propane Grill & Cooking Supplies to use in Yard. There will be a spigot available for cleaning your supplies.

🔥🌠🌌 If you would like to use the fire pit (it is not for cooking food, just ambience) while stargazing you are welcome to do so! To turn it on, simply remove the cover, then remove the lid, and turn the dial as you press it. While that dial is pressed, simultaneously press the igniter switch, which will make a clicking sound and start the fire. Once it is started you may need to continue holding the rotating dial down to make sure the fuel is flowing. Once you are done with the fire, please turn the unit off and replace both the lid and cover 😀

Guest access
Parking is in the driveway at the back of the property next to the gate. You will enter through the fenced yard gate and there is cement from the parking spot to the private entrance for ease of transporting luggage.

Guests have access to any of the outdoor spaces, including the fenced-in yard for outdoor dining and the hammocks for magical stargazing.

Access to the main home is locked so your room is completely your own during your stay.

I'm an avid traveler myself, and I understand the importance of finding a home away from home while on the road. I'm happy to share tips and recommendations for local hidden gems.

Other things to note
When we bought this home, everything in it was original from the mid 1980's. We love some good vintage charm, but we also like some fun updates. You'll appreciate the updated HVAC for temperature control, new flooring, and no popcorn ceilings! We do all the work ourselves and decided to start on the inside, which means the grounds look a bit rustic :)

While we do our best to maintain a quiet and tranquil environment for our guests, please note that there may be some normal noise from the main house, which is home to my wife and me, and occasionally our adult children. We do travel for work as well, so there are times where you may not see much of us during your visit. We are always easy to reach on the app!

We will do our best to minimize any disruption to your stay. We understand that noise levels can be a concern for some travelers, which is why we have taken steps with sound minimizing additions to our home to ensure a comfortable stay.

The private entry and separate living space also help to minimize noise transfer, and we encourage our guests to let us know if they have any concerns about noise levels during their stay.

*Please note, 3 friendly dogs live here part-time and they may tell us when you have arrived. They will not be allowed unsupervised in the backyard during your stay (unless you want some doggy time, in which case we'll leave the doggy door open) but they will be allowed out with one of us from time to time. If you like dogs you are welcome to say hi and play with them! Our younger pups are vocal when meeting new people and warm up quickly. :)

*We have renovated the home ourselves, and are still working on exterior aesthetics! Our home is at the end of the block, so there are no neighbors to one side of the house which helps with the feeling of tranquility and allows for lots of wildlife viewing. You can walk up the road to a local trailhead and get some hiking in without needing to drive anywhere!

*Since there is no kitchen access, you are welcome to Bring Your Own Propane Grill & Cooking Supplies to use in Yard. There is a spigot for cleaning. Please throw food scraps into the large outdoor trash collection bin.
