Also, about 10 min drive to the port. I want to visit again. I personally loved having a quick night swim while overlooking the nice lights of the surroundings. My only con was the wifi. We could not connect to the wifi during our stay because of a technical issues and an engineer will have to come and fix it. We didn't really have time to fix that issue as we were not staying that long. Otherwise my family and I enjoyed our time there and will definitely love to come back."

However, when we went in the pool area we found that it was empty so that was closed as well. I really wish it had been open as that was a big aspect that I looked for when booking. But besides that everything else was great, clean rooms and common areas and staff that we felt went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. Thank you. "

This does not have an elevator so keep that in mind as we walked three floors each time. The tile in the bathroom was cracked and old however that did not bother us as everything worked. We will absolutely stay here again. The only complaint I would have it you are given a parking number to park in or you will be towed however I could not see the numbers when I parked so I parked in another spot not realizing they had numbers. I went to move my car in the morning and someone was parked in my spot. This hotel is quaint and located in a great area and I felt safe the entire time. "

I was flying in late and they made sure to meet me right at the dock so checkin was a breeze. You should stay here if you're going to a convention in Long Beach. It's less expensive than some of the hotels, and the walk to the convention center is about five minutes...in Long Beach's famous weather. The working space is bigger than in a hotel room, plus you get a personal continental breakfast every morning, already in your kitchen. A bonus is, at your convention you have an opening line for every conversation, "I'm staying on a boat over in the marina." Everyone is jealous. The only downside is parking. The lots are about a 10 minute walk. If I did it again I'd take an Lyft/Cab from the airport. There are so many restaurants right on the marina that you won't run out of places to eat. Heck, you could invite some clients back to the boat for a cocktail!"

Our home is 13 miles from LAX & 17 miles away from Downtown LA. This is a 3 bedroom house & we are offering 2 rooms to guests. The household includes 2 people - a gay couple, 1 other airbnb guest & 2 very small dogs. You would have your own private room and share the bathroom with another airbnb guest. The place is located near where the 405 and 110 freeways intersect. Local landmarks nearby are Harbor UCLA hospital, Dignity Health Sports Park & Cal State Dominguez Hills. Street parking only.

Because there are A LOT of house plants next to the small bedroom. there aren't any house plants inside the small guest bedroom, but right outside it are A LOT of houseplants. Most people like or don't mind house plants, some guests just seem averse to them.

4) Grew up in the area and just need an affordable place to stay while visiting friends and family
5) Deciding if Los Angeles area is a place they want to reside in/relocate to
6) Just a quick visit to LA to catch a concert or sports game or conference
7) Arriving a day early before boarding their cruise ship in San Pedro

The guests that tend to give our accommodation low ratings are:

1) Guests that expect upper class accommodations and parking right beside our home even though they are only paying an average of $50 to $60 per night even though the local airbnbs and motels/hotels cost between $100 to $200 per night
2) Are relying on public transportation to get around LA unless they don't mind taking Uber/Lyft or are hardcore enthusiasts of public transportation
3) Want to spend a lot of time in Santa Monica, Hollywood and Downtown LA which is nowhere near where our home is located and only book the room because of the low price but then complain afterward that its not near Santa Monica, Hollywood or Downtown LA
4) Prefer to stay at high density places with interesting architecture like Santa Monica, Hollywood and Downtown LA, but are too cheap to get a place in those areas, so they choose our home which is located far away in the quiet, low density and "boring" architecture of the suburbs then complain about it afterward.

Smoking Pot/Marijuana: While it is legal to smoke pot in CA, we do not allow any smoking inside our home. If you are a heavy user of pot, please choose another accommodation.

Location: If you are looking for a place that has easy bus/train access, this is not the place for you. Our home is at least 20 miles away (or more) from Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown LA and Disneyland. We are close to Long Beach and not far from the border between LA and Orange County. Its best if you have your own vehicle to drive unless you prefer Uber or Lyft to get around town.

Our home is located inside a mobile park. Our place is located inside a nice community and the vast majority of our guests have enjoyed their stay at our home.

Earliest check in time is 1 PM. Latest checking in time is 10 PM. If you are arriving via LAX and your flight is going to arrive past 9:30 PM, there is no way you will arrive by 10 PM. Please seek other accommodations.

We are only accepting SOLO GUEST reservations at this time - NO EXCEPTIONS. This also means we don't allow you to bring in visitors into your room. If you want visitors into your room, then please find another place.

The bed is full sized. The room has its own AC and portable heater. There is no TV, but there is a mini fridge for your exclusive use. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen microwave, but do not use the refrigerator in the kitchen. You can use the kitchen bar counter or dining table to eat your meals, since there is no desk in the room since its too small to fit one in. Do not use the stove top and oven either. We do not provide guests with food nor coffee - you must supply that yourself. We have a washer and dryer, but that is not meant for guests either. Its outside street parking only - you can drop of your luggage and pick up your luggage with your car at the house, but you must park your car outside the complex on Main Street.

3) Want to spend a lot of time in Santa Monica, Hollywood and Downtown LA which is nowhere near where our home is located and only book the room because of the low price but then complain afterward that its not near Santa Monica, Hollywood or Downtown LA
4) Prefer to stay at high density places with interesting architecture like Santa Monica, Hollywood and Downtown LA, but are too cheap to get a place in those areas, so they choose our home which is located far away in the quiet, low density and "boring" architecture of the suburbs then complain about it afterward.

The bed is full sized. The room has its own AC and portable heater. There is no TV, but there is a mini fridge for your exclusive use. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen microwave, but do not use the refrigerator in the kitchen. You can use the kitchen bar counter or dining table to eat your meals, since there is no desk in the room since its too small to fit one in. Do not use the stove top and oven either. We do not provide guests with food nor coffee - you must supply that yourself. We have a washer and dryer, but that is not meant for guests either. Its outside street parking only - you can drop of your luggage and pick up your luggage with your car at the house, but you must park your car outside the complex on Main Street.

During your stay
I go to work around 7:30 AM and usually don't return home until 6 PM. Guests have until 11 AM to check out. After that, my spouse, Todd, will prepare the rooms so that the new guests can check in at 1 PM. The dogs will remain inside our master bedroom when both Todd and I are away from the home. There is no parking at the house. You will need to park it outside the complex on Main Street.

Other things to note
Amenities versus Price: We price our room rate very competitively compared to other listings in our area. Our place is best for budget travelers who just need a secure place to rest and are fine with basic amenities. If you are looking for upscale luxury accommodations, this is not the place for you.
If you have a phobia/fear of small 10 lbs dogs, please look for other accommodations. Absolutely no pets or emotional support animals allowed. One of my dogs is very territorial and aggressive towards other animals and there is just too much risk involved if you bring animals with you to my home. If you have pets or emotional support animals, please seek accommodations elsewhere.

If you don't like A LOT of houseplants, this place is not for you. Because there are A LOT of house plants next to the small bedroom. there aren't any house plants inside the small guest bedroom, but right outside it are A LOT of houseplants. Most people like or don't mind house plants, some guests just seem averse to them.

We are not running a hotel with multiple rooms where we can easily absorb the loss of a room booking, nor is there any guarantee that we can get a guest immediately to replace you in such short notice.

House Rules

TV - There is no TV in the room

Gate Opener – the gates the complex close between 7 PM and 7 AM every night. Do not lose the gate opener that we loan to you. The gate opener is $35 to replace if you lose it. Keys are $5 if you lose them.

Parking – You can only park your car overnight outside in Main Street. You may park it in the guest parking spots during the day, but from 7 PM to 7 AM, park your vehicle outside on Main Street or it will get towed.

Luggage/Suitcase – please do not put your luggage or suitcase on top of the bed.

Mini fridge – the mini fridge in your room is for you to use. Do not unplug it or set the setting on High. Do not use the refrigerator in the kitchen except to get water.

Microwave – You can use the microwave in the kitchen. You are not allowed to use the stove and oven for cooking.

Drinking Water – you can get a red cup beside the kitchen refrigerator and get water/ice from the kitchen refrigerator.

Laundry – the washer and dryer are not normally available to guests. If you really need to use them, its $5 per load to use the washer & dryer together.

Garbage – If you have a lot of trash, please don’t make it accumulate because it attracts pests and vermin. Leave it outside beside the base of the stairs in the carport. This way, we can throw it out in the dumpster.

Bed – Please do not eat or drink on the bed. When you check out, we wash all the sheets in between guests, so you do not have to make the bed look nice when you check out. There is no desk in the room to eat your meals, so we encourage you to eat at the kitchen island counter or dining room table instead.

Bathroom – once per day, we will clean the guest bathroom. If the bathroom is particularly filthy, let us know immediately, so we can clean it. Always leave the outer door of the bathroom OPEN when you are not using it so that the other guest is not guessing if you are using the bathroom.

Smoking – Absolutely no smoking allowed inside the house. If you need to smoke, we set up a chair with a black ashtray beside it in the carport.

Noise – Please try and keep sounds/noise to a bare minimum between the hours of 11 PM and 7 AM.

Emergency – If you need to reach me immediately, then call me (don’t text me). All my texts are on silent mode.

The kitchen is equipped with the essentials: fridge, stove, microwave, Keurig, and everything you need to cook, eat/drink, and clean. The gorgeous dining area is ready to enjoy your meals.

The bedroom has a king size bed, closet for your clothes, projector and Apple TV for watching movies, Netflix, etc. while you are winding down for the night.

The adorable bathroom includes a bathtub and vintage shower system. We include clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

We ask that as our guest you are mindful and respectful of our neighbors at all times. No excessive noise or parties permitted.

Lastly, we ask our guest to have an amazing time and comfortable stay our beachside condo.

ONLY STREET PARKING is available. At times it could become DIFFICULT to FIND STREET PARKING. There are paid parking lots about half a mile away and 5-10 minute walk if needed.

You will have to go up one set of stairs to get to the condo on the 2nd floor. The beach is accessible by stairs.

The building is gated and at the moment only provide contactless check-in details. We can accommodate greeting in person only for extenuating circumstances. Please message in advance if this is needed. You will be provided with more details for contactless check-in on your arrival date.

Very small room in a small house that features a big garden. The room is right next to the kitchen and it is separated by a sliding door. The laundry room is directly next to the room and accessible from the small room. Laundry Room can be also accessed from Garden. Guest access
Guest enter through the front door entrance by entering a personalized 4 digit code in the keypad. Guest have access to the kitchenette, the living room, and the shared bathroom. Closet and furniture can be used for storage of guest items.

During your stay
We will be glad to assist in providing information about local attractions and public transportation. We understand the challenges for international travelers when traveling aboard. Let us know how we can be of assistance. We are available through the app if you ever have any questions. The hosts live on the property and use the driveway to park their vehicles. The door near the kitchen remains shut throughout your stay and divides the hosts private space. The living room, kitchenette, and bathroom is a shared space and shared by the hosts and potentially other guests in the larger bedroom. Centrally located near all of the fun Long Beach has to offer. Close to many restaurants and gyms, two blocks from the Blue Line Metro rail and close to the 710/405, walking distance from the convention center, and in close proximity to the ocean. There are other guests in the house and I make sure the house stays clean and the atmosphere.
Not appropriate for double occupancy nor guests who don't have an occupation and plan to stay home 24/7. Positive host review required to book the room.

The space
The room has a queen size bed with a brand new mattress and 100% cotton sheets. There is a large closet where you can store your luggage and hang your clothes. Also the curtains are blackout so the daylight will not wake you up.

Guest access
Access to all the public spaces in the house. It is a large 4 bedrooms house.

During your stay
Guests will be left to their own devices but I am more than happy to engage in conversations and help when asked a question about the city.

Other things to note
The location is fantastic, right downtown Long Beach and walking distance to many places. That also means that the house is in a busy part of town, not a suburban set-up so take this into consideration when booking. Friday and Saturday night street parking can be a challenge as many people come to enjoy the many restaurants and clubs downtown. There are cheap ($5) public parking nearby if you don't want to look for parking.
