Chalet Les Cedres is a refined yet cozy chalet near Gstaad; ideal for families or groups. The chalet consists of spacious rooms and can host up to 16 adults and 2 young children / babies. The living room gives you a spectacular view of the nearby mountains. There is a garage, which provides room for 2 cars, and a lovely garden. All year round this is a great place to enjoy time with family and friends, the local nature and sports as well as nice nearby villages like Gstaad and Saanen!
The space
Chalet Les Cèdres consists of three levels:
1) The mid-level: This level houses the spacious living room with a big fire place and splendid views of the surrounding mountains, dinner area, kitchen, main hallway, 1 bathroom and an office. The front door as well as garage provide access to the chalet at this mid-level.
2) The upper level: This level contains 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms; 2 bedrooms have their own bathroom.
3) The lower level: This level contains 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom; 1 of the bedrooms has a bunk bed. In addition, there is a living room, dinner area and fully equipped kitchenette. The sofa in the living room can be unfolded to provide a bed for 2 adults. Finally, this level contains storage facilities, washing machinery and the central heating system.
The upper and mid-level together on the one hand and the lower level on the other hand can be used separately and each have their own front door. There is an internal staircase that connects the lower level and mid level and can be used if so desired. The mid-level and lower-level can both be accessed through the same entrance in the garage.
The chalet is surrounded by a lovely garden. There is a covered terrace with a fire place, dining table and lounge chairs.
There is a garage that offers space for 2 cars, but also storage for your skis and snow boots (there is a heated shelf). Additional cars can be parked on the driveway in front of the chalet. Please note that SUVs and SUV-like cars are generally too high to enter the garage.
If you are traveling with young children, please let us know. There are plenty of toys, games, and baby equipment (including dinner chairs and 2 baby beds).

In winter, you can enjoy nearly 200km of ski slopes. The skiing region also contains the glacier Diablerets with an altitude of> 3000m, which offers skiing options until late in the season. In summer, Gstaad hosts a beach volleyball tournament, an international professional tennis tournament, and a hot air balloon festival at nearby Chateau-d'Oex. The surrounding nature is breathtaking and offers a wide variety of activities such as skiing, cycling, walking / hiking, rafting, paragliding etc.

Getting around
Chalet Les Cèdres can be best reached by car. There is a train station in Gstaad (including taxis) and a bus stop nearby the chalet. In winter, ski slopes can be easily reached by car, but public transport (especially train) operates frequently and on a timely basis (and is often free for people with a multiple day skiing pass). Driving to the center of Gstaad takes approximately 10 minutes. The airports of Geneva and Bern can be reached in approximately 2 hours by car.
Interaction with guests
Chalet Les Cèdres can be rented per week during high season (~ mid December - mid March and ~ mid June - end of August). A week starts and ends on Saturday. Check-in is on Saturdays from 3pm and check-out is on Saturdays before 11am. During low season, it's possible to rent Les Cèdres chalets for (long) weekends or mid-weeks with a minimum stay of 3 nights. Recently completed in 2013 the chalet is a sensitive blend of traditional alpine materials with the latest contemporary design.
The Space:
Rich fabrics, wooden beams and sumptuous furnishings are throughout the property with attention to detail at its finest. Spread over 600m2 on four floors the use of space is exceptional providing numerous relaxation and entertainment areas all with the latest modern comforts.
You enter the chalet on the ground floor which is the main sleeping floor. Here you will find the impressive master bedroom which has a traditional Swedish stove and en-suite bathroom with separate rain shower. Further bedrooms on this floor include another double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a bunk room sleeping 2 which has an en-suite shower room. Also on this floor there is a wonderful play room with plenty of games for the children as well as a foosball table. The ski room with heated warmers is just near the entrance of the chalet as well as a guest toilet.
Moving upstairs you will find the extensive living and entertainment areas. The grand sitting room is luxurious and sophisticated. A large open fire place is the main feature of the room, guests can sink into the sumptuous sofas or relax with a glass of champagne on the fur covered day beds. The less formal day room next door is bright and spacious with a wonderful bay window which looks out onto the idyllic pastures surrounding the chalet.
The beautiful farmhouse inspired kitchen overlooks the day room and can be closed off for maximum privacy. Dinner is served in the elegant dining room which can sit 14 people comfortably. An office is also situated on this floor.
A beautiful staircase leads the way to the cinema room, which overlooks the main sitting room high in the eaves. Sink into the comfy seating or relax on a day bed whilst watching the latest films. Chalet Enge has the latest audio and visual systems throughout ensuring a wonderful ambiance. The theatre room enjoys a 70" high definition screen, Dolby surround sound and an extensive library of movies. Apple TV and the xbox provide endless entertainment and there is a Sonos sound system with 20M worth of music wired throughout the chalet controllable from iPad and smartphone.
The lower ground floor is home to the exceptional spa and wellness area. After a hard day on the slopes guests can sit back and relax on the day beds whilst dipping in and out of the waterfall showers, sauna, steam room and plunge pool. There is a wood burning fire, gym and outdoor relaxation space with river view. Also on this floor is a delightful twin bedroom and guest suite. The twin bedroom has an en-suite shower room and the guest suite is made up of a double bedroom, beautifully designed separate, children's bunk room sleeping four. The living room gives you a spectacular view on the nearby mountains. There is a garage, which provides room for 2 cars, and a lovely garden. All year round this is a great place to enjoy time with family and friends, the local nature and sports as well as nice nearby villages like Gstaad and Saanen!
The space
Chalet Les Cèdres consists of three levels:
1) The mid-level: This level houses the spacious living room with a big fire place and splendid views on the surrounding mountains, dinner area, kitchen, main hallway, 1 bathroom and an office. The front door as well as garage provide access to the chalet at this mid-level.
2) The upper level: This level contains 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms; 2 bedrooms have their own bathroom.
3) The lower level: This level contains 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom; 1 of the bedrooms has a bunk bed. In addition, there is a living room, dinner area and fully equipped kitchenette. The sofa in the living room can be unfolded to provide a bed for 2 adults. Finally, this level contains storage facilities, washing machinery and the central heating system.
The upper and mid-level together on the one hand and the lower level on the other hand can be used separately and each have their own front door. There is an internal staircase that connects the lower level and mid-level and can be used if so desired. The mid-level and lower level can both be accessed through the same entrance in the garage.
The chalet is surrounded by a lovely garden. There’s a covered terrace with a fire place, dining table and lounge chairs.
There’s a garage that offers space for 2 cars, but also storage for your skis and snow boots (there is a heated shelf). Additional cars can be parked on the driveway in front of the chalet. Please note that SUVs and SUV-like cars are generally too high to enter the garage.
If you are travelling with young children, please let us know. There are plenty of toys, games, and baby equipment (including dinner chairs and 2 baby beds).
