ABOUT THE CHALET
1. How is the chalet setup?
The chalet was originally purchased to be used with my family and friends. Therefore it has all the amenities and comfort that one could expect from someone’s home. It is our favorite place to escape to with my wife and children. We find the views in Grindelwald to be some of the most stunning of all the Alps. No wonder tourists from around the world come to Grindelwald each year.

2. How many people can stay in the chalet?
The chalet is setup for 10 people. With a baby or small child that uses the provided cot-bed you can have 11 people.

3. What is the layout of the chalet
• Ground floor, you have and entrance hall for ski boots (with ski boot/glove warmer), two bedrooms, one bathroom with double sink and shower, one toilet, kitchen with counter top bar (4 stools), dining room area (10 seats), living room and fireplace area.
• Upper Floor: you have the master bedroom, with en-suite bathtub, toilet and small sink. Across the hall is a bathroom with toilet, double sink and shower. There is a TV room with large couch, flat screen TV, and a small bedroom.
• Bottom Floor (lower level) there is a bedroom, a bathroom with bath tub, double sink and shower, the cave with washer/dryer, and a separate workout room.

4. What is the bedroom and bed Layout?
• Ground floor: first bedroom with King Size bed, second bedroom with Queen Size bed.
• Upper Floor: master bedroom with King Size bed. Small bedroom with two single beds (best for children as low ceiling).
• Bottom Floor (lower level): Queen size bed

5. What is the bathroom situation?
See point 2, there are in total 4 bathrooms (3 separate and 1 on-suite in the master bedroom)

6. How is the kitchen equipped?
The kitchen is fully equipped, with all the cutlery, plates, glasses, as well as pots and pans. There is a coffee machine (drip) and espresso style (you can get espresso type capsules in the grocery store), kettle to boil water, toaster, blender. There is a raclette machine and fondue pot.
Spices/Oils/Paper Towels/Supplies: we leave spices, cooking oil, and some basic supplies (a few dish washer tablets, some liquid soap for dishes, etc.). We ask our guests to simply replace what they finish, this way the chalet always has the basics. And it avoids you having to buy everything. I suggest you check what is there when you arrive before going to the grocery store.

Please note that the chalet is not situated in Grindelwald village itself. Access to Grindelwald village takes 20 minutes by cable car or auto car, or a 50 minute walking trail, downhill. Outside the operating hours of the cable lift, access to the chalet is only possible by car, but only in the Summer.

Renovated with a lot of passion, from my family and me, we offer you a wonderful apartment with every comfort and charm. The chalet is located outside the village center, but close to the winter and summer sports activities (train stations Kleine Scheidegg / Jungfraujoch / Männlichen only 15 minutes walk) with slope access. The view from the outside seating area belonging to the apartment offers you a fantastic view of the Eiger north face as well as the opposite village center!

All furniture incl. Bed, mattresses, duvets, etc. are new. In addition to the state-of-the-art, generously equipped kitchen, you can look forward to a relaxing experience shower. New, we also have a boot dryer, so that, for example, the ski boots between the ski days can dry properly.

Thanks to the bus stop 20m in front of the house, you can easily reach all of your excursion destinations. The Bodmi ski school area is only 2 bus stops away. We had a minor problem after checking in and the host took care of it that afternoon (or rather her son did). A few notes for others: GPS sent us to a drive way that is just short of the actual drive, you need to continue on a go up the tiny road just to the right of the "Panorama" bus stop and parking and then be on the lookout to your right for "Casseopeia". Also, the bus is very convenient, but runs once an hour. We did 4-6 hour hikes everyday and our favorites were the Northface trail in Murren (the other valley), the Romantikweg from the Manlichen tram, and the hike down from Grindelwald First past Bachalpsee was wonderful. - "This apartment was just right for our needs. We could cook and relax there and the location was perfect. We ate out on the balcony most days and the view was wonderful!It was easy to access all the cable cars and trails we wanted to do while in Grindelwald. It’s good to note that Terassenweg is quite high, which is no problem if you have a car. We went to Grindelwald by train and the first evening it took some time and energy to walk up there from the village with our suitcase. However, it was no problem after that as we realised there is a regular bus, no 122, ( every half hour during the day) which leaves from just outside the apartment and takes you to the station. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes, and when you have a guest card, which you can fill in when you get into the apartment, local bus trips are free of charge.We would definitely recommend this accommodation!"

The chalet is very close to the centre of the village, only 800m from Grindelwald railway station and 100m from the nearest bus stop. Access to the chalet with garage and three parking spaces is possible all year round. (In winter 4x4 or chains may be required). The lovingly furnished chalet has a modern, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, steamer, glass ceramic hob, microwave and coffee machine (Nespresso). In the spacious living room there is a Swedish stove, which provides additional comfort in the winter months. On the upper floor are the two bedrooms. The stylish chalet "Neuschürli" impresses with its dreamlike location with spectacular panoramic views of the legendary Eiger North Face, the Great Fiescherhorn and the Wetterhorn. An idyllic place to relax with absolute privacy and at the same time an excellent starting point for winter sports, mountain hikes and exploring the magnificent Bernese Oberland.

Our house impresses with generous, bright rooms with partly floor-to-ceiling, large windows, a stylish interior with original mid-century furniture and an absolutely idyllic location on a large property. The chalet offers a fantastic view of the Eiger and the surrounding mountains.

The covered parking lot with 3 parking spaces is located about 100 m below the house. Two longer stairs lead to the house.

We offer luggage transportation on request. For CHF 25.00-- per piece of luggage we will gladly carry your suitcases from the carport up to the chalet. The minimum charge for this additional service will be CHF 75.00--.

We are also more than happy to organize special events such as fondue, raclette and romantic picnics for our guests as an additional bookable service. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested.

The chalet consists of three floors. On the first floor is the generous entrance area with checkroom, ski room, workroom and laundry room.

On the second floor you enter the generous, bright living and dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows, tiled stove and breathtaking panoramic views of the mountain panorama and the village of Grindelwald. For cozy movie nights, there is a 55-inch LG Smart TV with Netflix, PrimeVideo and AppleTV, and for musical entertainment, you'll find a TEUFEL Bluetooth box. Furthermore, a charming small work desk with a fantastic view is available in the open plan living area.

On the same floor you will find the superbly equipped kitchen, the master bedroom with extra large box-spring bed (2x2m) and en-suite bathroom with bathtub, separate shower and a delightful children's room with extra child's bed, play corner and separate sink.

The kitchen, living and dining area encloses a large, beautiful terrace with a wind-protected dining area and direct access to the kitchen.

On the second floor there are three more bedrooms and an additional bathroom with toilet and shower. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with double beds, one of which also features a box spring bed. In the third bedroom there is a bunk bed with two more sleeping places and separate washbasins.

The house is surrounded by a spacious property and borders on forest and surrounding mountain meadows, where in autumn llamas and cows graze. In winter and spring the deer also like to come to the garden and with a little luck the fox or the badger family will visit you. Since the chalet has no direct neighbors, you can enjoy the tranquility of nature in complete seclusion and undisturbed. Due to the location on the sunny side of the valley, you can enjoy the sun on the generous terrace even in winter.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms with double beds, a fully equipped, modern kitchen, a cosy living room, a bathroom with shower bath, toilet and double washbasin, Swisscom TV and free internet access.
Enjoy your breakfast on the garden seat with a view of the mountains or relax on the bench or deckchair in the shade of the maple tree.

- "This apartment gave us the quintessential Swiss experience! With beautiful Mountain View’s, farm goats right outside our door, and fresh local food at a small shop just steps away, we really felt like locals. Not to mention the farm cat family that warmed up to us quite quickly! The apartment was clean, spacious, and had plenty of storage for our belongings. We enjoyed the kitchen every morning and most evenings and sat out on the porch to enjoy the views. Aside from all of these great qualities, the walk to most bus stops, and the popular terminal for trains and gondolas is something to consider if you don’t plan on having a vehicle. The walk is doable, but it is mostly uphill and through small paths surrounded by tall overgrowth. Consider this when packing as well. A carryon is certainly ideal. The town buses do stop at a certain time in the evening, relatively early in our opinion and certain stops are not serviced regularly. All of this to say, just do some research and planning before immersing yourself into this Swiss paradise!"

Chalet Boimenzüün is situated above Grindelwald in a sunny, very quiet and unspoilt location. From the large terrace with flower garden you can see the marvellous mountain world with the impressive north face of the Eiger.
Boimenzüün is the ideal place for relaxing, peaceful, eventful and sporty holidays.

The chalet was newly built in 2012 and has a high standard of finish. The cosily furnished flat is located on the ground floor of the chalet. The kitchen is very comfortably equipped. Coffee, tea and spices are available free of charge.

The entire flat has underfloor heating. The heat is generated by solar panels and a central wood heating system.
There is a shoe dryer in the laundry room and you also have the possibility to dry clothes and store things.

Chalet Meister is a real rarity dating back to 1967, when Franz Meister was an architect and built the chalet as a holiday home for his family. The original is lovingly cared for and maintained. Charming chalet is located in Burglauenen, one village before Grindelwald. The house can accommodate up to 6 people on 100m2, spread on 2 floors. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a private garden of 1000+m2 with a large deck with BBQ. The space
This two-storey chalet of 100m2 was almost entirely renovated between 2012/2013 and offers an alpine experience with a cosy environment and flair. It keeps a rustic atmosphere while having modern appliances and amenities and will hopefully ensure you, your friends and family a pleasant stay.

The house can accommodate up to 6 guests in three different bedrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with beds for 2 people (2x twin, 1x double)and have enough place to store your personal belongings and recharge your batteries. Two bedrooms are located on the upper floor. One has two beds of 90x200cm that can serve as twins or can be moved next to each other for a queen-sized bed. The other bedroom has two beds of size 80x200cm , which kids usually love as it embedded into the wall with lower ceilings. On the ground floor is located what we would describe as the master bedroom. It is larger with high ceiling (up to 4.5m), has been entirely renovated and is heated with its own fireplace. It contains a queen bed of 160x220cm that overviews the garden through 4 large windows, providing a lot of day light and a romantic getaway in both Winters and Summers.

The chalet has a total of two bathrooms, one located on each floor, both fully renovated and offering state-of-art equipment. The ground floor bathroom is adjacent to the larger bedroom and equipped with WC, washbasin and a one-person hot-tub/whirlpool. Through dimming lights, you can create yourself an oasis of relaxing time, much deserved after a long day of skiing/snowboarding or hiking. The larger bathroom on the first floor has a WC, two vase-shaped wash basins and a large shower. Both bathrooms are equipped with radiators to keep dry and warm up your towels.

Fresh bed sheets and towels will be provided for all our guests. For your comfort and to ensure consistent cleanliness to all our guests, we charge a cleaning fee (directly through Airbnb when you book with us and at costs) in order to pay for the cleaning team, to wash the bedsheets/linens and to ensure consistent cleanliness to all our guests.

The chalet is located on a privately-owned piece of land with a size of 1100m2 and therefore ensures enough parking space for up to 3 cars and plenty of rooms for kids/dogs to run/play around the house. It now has a 60m2 terrace/wooden deck with lounge furniture to enjoy the sun all day long: yes, it is facing South! A large garden BBQ is also available by the terrace: yes it will require some will power to move from the house and go hiking! The view from the terrace is not the best as the house is located in the valley towards Grindelwald but it's peaceful and quiet and surrounded by nature (just one neighbour) and the tap water is coming straight from a source around the corner.

We also built a small garden house by the parking place, in which can store your skis, poles and/or snowboards overnight.

Guest access
When renting with us, guests have access to the whole chalet and outside space. We only rent the full house at a time (not individual rooms) and there will therefore never be space to be shared with someone else.

Other things to note
Due to its old age (it was first built in 1906), the house has relatively low ceilings (2m) in some of the areas and is not suitable/comfortable for people measuring over 195cm / 6.4ft.

Due to its location and the law of nature, the outside becomes wild in the Summer with loads of growing greenery and lively insects;-)

The ground gets depraved from sun from mid-October to mid-March and is therefore not an ideal location to spend your Winter holidays at the house if you are a non-skier.

The house is outside of Grindelwald and not accessible by public transportation. We would highly recommend to only book our house if you are travelling by car.

Chalet Bärgbächli is located in an idyllic, sunny location at approx. 1,100 meters above sea level. Already at breakfast you can enjoy the unobstructed view of the most beautiful mountains of the Bernese Oberland. Here you will find peace and quiet in a rural setting. Our house is accessible by car all year round. A garage is available free of charge. In winter, we recommend that you carry snow chains.

The chalet is a vacation chalet and is also used by my family. Every now and then someone will be there. We respect the privacy of guests and are also happy to provide tips or other things & tell you more about the place if desired.

Other things to note
The chalet is located above the village in a quiet location. On foot you can reach the center / restaurants in approx. 20-25 minutes. It is a nice walk, so you can also enjoy the nature of Grindelwald. The bus leaves the station approx. 2 minutes from the house. In the evening, the timetables are available until approx. 7:00 pm.

We are an open and warm family and welcome everyone to our place. Our chalet cats Rory + Lory are loving, but also accept if the guest needs me-time. Anina (host) does not live in the chalet herself & comes by briefly every day for feeding. Of course, with advance notice.

The Chalet Oben Hegen is located on the slope with a beautiful view directly to the famous Eiger North Face. All ski and sledding slopes can be reached quickly and easily on foot, by car or by bus. The area is also great for hiking. Grindelwald itself has all the usual amenities and many opportunities for sports and leisure activities.

This charming chalet was built in 2006 by Andreas with a lot of love for detail. It has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 living room with kitchen and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests.

Chalet Meister is a true rarity from 1967. Stefan's father was an architect and built the chalet for the family as a holiday residence. The original is lovingly maintained and maintained. Our chalet is located a little away from the village in a sunny, quiet location. The views are breathtaking! The Eiger North Face is proud, flanked by the mighty Mettenberg and Wetterhorn and the Jungfrau massif right in front of us. The house is reachable all year round by car. A ski bus is available free of charge.
The large garden offers space for play and fun but also relaxation on the beautiful terrace or in the sun lounger. A charcoal grill is available for your own culinary contributions. A small creek gazes quietly.
A small shopping area with fresh goods and beverage market can be reached on foot in 5 minutes.
The furnishings
The renovation gave our chalet a new splendour. Bright and friendly rooms, functional furnishings and cozy ambiance were the top destinations.
Large kitchen, a bathroom, a shower, 2 toilets, 4 spacious rooms, the large living/dining room with fireplace and finally the baby wicker corner allow an unforgettable holiday for the whole family.
In addition, the chalet offers a modern laundry room in addition with a washing machine and dryer at your disposal.
Entertainment
In the living room, a TV corner is set up for our guests. Satellite reception for radio and television from all over the world, a DVD player, an LCD TV with an appropriate sound system promise good entertainment. The TV is pivotable, so everyone can experience a cozy TV evening or the little ones watch their cartoon in the guests for free, there is a wireless internet hotspot available for free. Unlimited surfing and emailing, wirelessly comfortable throughout the house.
The hospitable glacier village of Grindelwald is nestled in a varied, unadulterated alpine landscape. The imposing, world-famous and iced mountain scenery with Wetterhorn, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is the stage design for Grindelwald.

The space
Our spacious chalet offers accommodation for up to 12 guests and is the perfect place to enjoy an unforgettable stay in the Swiss Alps.
The six comfortable bedrooms are each furnished with rustic wooden beds and cozy bedding, providing privacy and a peaceful retreat for a restful night’s sleep.

Two separate garage parking spaces are available free of charge. The garage height is 220 cm.
From the nearby parking spot (Garage Alpenruhe), you’ll need to walk approximately 100 meters up a steep, paved path. The second parking space (Garage Panoramablick) is located about 200 meters from the chalet.

The chalet features several bathrooms to meet the needs of a larger group. Each bathroom is modern and well-equipped, with either a shower or bathtub, and fresh towels provided.

The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals. A spacious dining area offers enough room for all guests to enjoy meals together and share good times.

The living room is both spacious and cozy, featuring comfortable armchairs and a fireplace that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere on cooler evenings. It’s the perfect spot to relax, play games, or enjoy a movie night with the group.

From the living room, you have access to a balcony with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and nature. It’s the ideal place to unwind, breathe in the fresh alpine air, and admire the beauty of the landscape.

Our cozy chalet has four bedrooms and can accommodate 9 persons. It offers a fantastic view of Grindelwald and the Wetterhorn. The garden at the back with its well-soaked spacious seating area offers a spectacular view of the Eiger North Face, as well as of Lauberhorn, Tschuggen and Männlichen.

Chalet Ruthchen is a true gem. The 1700’s traditional chalet has all the comforts for modern living and spectacular views of the Eiger and the glacier. Located above Grindelwald, it is within a 5 minute drive from the town center, has a bus stop close by, and it is in the middle of ski slopes and hiking paths. In winter the ski piste (First ski region) runs almost to the door of the property, you can ski in and out. In summertime, you can go on countless hikes in the beautiful surroundings.

The space
You access the charming chalet on the middle floor and you are welcomed by the warm wooden interior and traditional painted ceilings. The kitchen, dining and living area are warm, sunny and cozy, with windows offering breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and a central fireplace to gather around. The top floor has three bedrooms, two of which have queen beds and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds. The bathroom in the top floor has a bathtub with a shower. The lower floor has direct garden access and has one large bedroom with a queen bed, its own fireplace and seating area, as well as a bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a terrace with outdoor seating and a garden set against the idyllic backdrop of the mountains and the water sound of an adjacent stream. Facilities in the chalet include dryer, washer and central heating system. There is free Wifi in the whole chalet. There is parking space for two cars in front of the main entrance.

The chalet is perfect for cooking your own meals, with an oven, four ceramic glass cooking stoves, a dishwasher, and a fridge with a freezer. There is a fondue set, many pans and pots, kettle, coffee press, toaster, and raclette equipment.

The chalet is suitable for 1 or 2 families with kids, as well as up to 4 couples or 8 friends who want to have a beautiful place to stay.

Whether you come in the summer or the winter, Chalet Ruthchen is the perfect place to enjoy the Swiss mountains.

A classic Swiss free-standing chalet, comfortable and tastefully decorated and located on the Terrassenweg, one of the sunniest areas of Grindelwald. It has uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains and the glacier gorge.

Split between three floors, you enter Chalet Luftschloss on the middle floor. It has an open plan and features a fireplace, dining tabl, flat screen TV and cozy sofas. The kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities including microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster, Nes

The large windows create a pleasant atmosphere with lots of light. You can soak up the sun on the balcony while dining al fresco and admiring the scenic view. This floor also features a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The top floor has three bedrooms, a master bedroom with a king size bed and a daybed, a second bedroom with double bed and a smaller room with bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower.

The lower floor, at garden level, has a large bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The laundry room provides a washing machine and tumble dryer.

It is only a few minutes walk from the ski-school beginner slopes Bodmi. From there you can also ski down to the 'First' cable car station. It is within walking distance of restaurants as well as a bus stop. In winter the ski slope runs almost to the door of the property. It's a great hiking base too. Luftschloss is a beautiful homely chalet. Suited for friends or family who like self-catering holidays.
