ABOUT THE CHALET
1. How is the chalet setup?
The chalet was originally purchased to be used with my family and friends. Therefore it has all the amenities and comfort that one could expect from someone’s home. It is our favorite place to escape to with my wife and children. We find the views in Grindelwald to be some of the most stunning of all the Alps. No wonder tourists from around the world come to Grindelwald each year.

2. How many people can stay in the chalet?
The chalet is setup for 10 people. With a baby or small child that uses the provided cot-bed you can have 11 people.

3. What is the layout of the chalet
• Ground floor, you have and entrance hall for ski boots (with ski boot/glove warmer), two bedrooms, one bathroom with double sink and shower, one toilet, kitchen with counter top bar (4 stools), dining room area (10 seats), living room and fireplace area.
• Upper Floor: you have the master bedroom, with en-suite bathtub, toilet and small sink. Across the hall is a bathroom with toilet, double sink and shower. There is a TV room with large couch, flat screen TV, and a small bedroom.
• Bottom Floor (lower level) there is a bedroom, a bathroom with bath tub, double sink and shower, the cave with washer/dryer, and a separate workout room.

4. What is the bedroom and bed Layout?
• Ground floor: first bedroom with King Size bed, second bedroom with Queen Size bed.
• Upper Floor: master bedroom with King Size bed. Small bedroom with two single beds (best for children as low ceiling).
• Bottom Floor (lower level): Queen size bed

5. What is the bathroom situation?
See point 2, there are in total 4 bathrooms (3 separate and 1 on-suite in the master bedroom)

6. How is the kitchen equipped?
The kitchen is fully equipped, with all the cutlery, plates, glasses, as well as pots and pans. There is a coffee machine (drip) and espresso style (you can get espresso type capsules in the grocery store), kettle to boil water, toaster, blender. There is a raclette machine and fondue pot.
Spices/Oils/Paper Towels/Supplies: we leave spices, cooking oil, and some basic supplies (a few dish washer tablets, some liquid soap for dishes, etc.). We ask our guests to simply replace what they finish, this way the chalet always has the basics. And it avoids you having to buy everything. I suggest you check what is there when you arrive before going to the grocery store.

Please note that the chalet is not situated in Grindelwald village itself. Access to Grindelwald village takes 20 minutes by cable car or auto car, or a 50 minute walking trail, downhill. Outside the operating hours of the cable lift, access to the chalet is only possible by car, but only in the Summer.

Renovated with a lot of passion, from my family and me, we offer you a wonderful apartment with every comfort and charm. The chalet is located outside the village center, but close to the winter and summer sports activities (train stations Kleine Scheidegg / Jungfraujoch / Männlichen only 15 minutes walk) with slope access. The view from the outside seating area belonging to the apartment offers you a fantastic view of the Eiger north face as well as the opposite village center!

All furniture incl. Bed, mattresses, duvets, etc. are new. In addition to the state-of-the-art, generously equipped kitchen, you can look forward to a relaxing experience shower. New, we also have a boot dryer, so that, for example, the ski boots between the ski days can dry properly.

We had a minor problem after checking in and the host took care of it that afternoon (or rather her son did). A few notes for others: GPS sent us to a drive way that is just short of the actual drive, you need to continue on a go up the tiny road just to the right of the "Panorama" bus stop and parking and then be on the lookout to your right for "Casseopeia". Also, the bus is very convenient, but runs once an hour. We did 4-6 hour hikes everyday and our favorites were the Northface trail in Murren (the other valley), the Romantikweg from the Manlichen tram, and the hike down from Grindelwald First past Bachalpsee was wonderful. - "This apartment was just right for our needs. We could cook and relax there and the location was perfect. We ate out on the balcony most days and the view was wonderful!It was easy to access all the cable cars and trails we wanted to do while in Grindelwald. It’s good to note that Terassenweg is quite high, which is no problem if you have a car. We went to Grindelwald by train and the first evening it took some time and energy to walk up there from the village with our suitcase. However, it was no problem after that as we realised there is a regular bus, no 122, ( every half hour during the day) which leaves from just outside the apartment and takes you to the station. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes, and when you have a guest card, which you can fill in when you get into the apartment, local bus trips are free of charge.We would definitely recommend this accommodation!"
