Suitable for dogs. The view from the lodge is amazing, spotted deer in mountains opposite using a scope. - "We had a wonderful time staying in this idyllic part of the world. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and went on beautiful walks to waterfalls and lochs every day. We got out on Loch Awe on the paddleboards on both days and enjoyed relaxing with a drink in the hot tub after. Beautifully remote location but would definitely recommend stocking up before you go. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday when the cafe/shop and bar are both shut. Paid a visit to 'Black Rock' (a drive down the road) and managed to get great food there! We were apprehensive about the single track road but it is so much nicer than any of the roads we have driven on lately and has loads of passing places so there is no need to worry at all! A great holiday that we all have fantastic memories of!"

The Bothy is an architectural haven only 5 mins drive to St Andrews and comfortably sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. The homely open plan living room and kitchen, with bifold doors leading to a relaxing patio area and garden creates a relaxing ambiance and has spectacular views over the Fife countryside. The property has it's own entrance on the ground floor and ample free parking directly outside for several cars. The accommodation layouts are as follows: Ground Floor - 1 twin bedroom. Perfect for guests with mobility requirements (only small steps). Family bathroom. Open plan kitchen dining area. Access out to the enclosed patio, decking and garden. First Floor - 1 twin or double.
There is a dry store in the garden area for storing golf clubs and shoes. The umbrella for the outside table and chairs is also kept in the garden dry store.
- "We had a fabulous time and could just have relaxed at the Bothy all the time. It is a lovely quiet rural retreat that is full of light and opens up to the private garden. A wonderful find!! " - "This was a beautiful and architecturally unique home! We had perfect weather and it was so cool to be able to open the sliding doors (which essentially opened an entire corner of the house) and sit with nature 5 minutes outside of the city. We took a couple beautiful walks and it had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The cleanliness of dishes could certainly use some attention but nothing we couldn't work around. Also, it would be nice touch to have some coffee stocked after a long days travel but there was a lidl right down the road. We found one of the best local restaurants, The Tavern, Home of Strathmash. It was about a 10 minute drive and was one of the absolute best meals I've had in a long time. They had live folk music (and sounds like other types of music depending on the night) and NOT your typical pub food. We met the chef and everything was fresh made homemade and fantastic. This was one of the highlights of our trip. "

The walk into town is a great way to get some exercise and we did it at least two to three times a day. We hosted some of our daughter's friends for American Thanksgiving at the house and it was a perfect venue. This was our second stay with Short Stay St Andrews and they have both been wonderful!" - "My friends and I stayed two nights while playing two of St. Andrew's courses. We had a car and made the venue a perfect spot for us and our game. Highly recommend!"

On both stays there was a handtowel in the WC and bathroom for general hand-drying use, but for those with long hair, its really inconvenient not to have a towel to wrap your hair with when coming out the shower." - "Abbey Villa was great for a break in St. Andrews. The rooms are well-equipped, clean and free from clutter. The TVs are of a good size. The cottage is very dog friendly and has a small garden. There is a dedicated parking space. Host/owner greeted us on arrival and helped give us tips and pointers for maximizing our time there. Loved it. We’ll definitely return. Thank you for a great stay!!!" - "We loved the location of the lodges. Fantastic for exploring the area and the outdoors. If you don’t particularly enjoy a bit of remoteness and being close to restaurants and bars then this may not be for you. The lodge was spotlessly clean on arrival and had everything we needed for our stay. I would thoroughly recommend the lodges whether it’s a family holiday or just relaxing long weekend for a couple."

The house was spacious and clean and had everything you need to make yourself at home." - "What an amazing place to stay had everything you needed. The village was lovely. The only thing I would mention is that it’s not quite accurate for the directions it takes you to a house over the fence and there is no name anywhere to tell you the location of the property. It was a bit of a guess and had to ask a local if they new of such a place. I would definitely go back here. "
