Shown around the old section by Kate whose knowledge and enthusiasm for it's history as well as the care for her customers was fantastic. The breakfast was perfect as was the room we occupied overlooking the lake. The resident peacock was in the grounds to add to the spectacle. - "This is a lovely and well presented cottage. The hosts are very welcoming with even a cake left for us. The cottage is well equipped, clean and ideally located for the visiting places in Sussex, including Battle Abbey, Rye and Bodiam castle. If you are tall or do not like steep stairs then this is not for you since the bedroom is an attic mezzanine, but is very cosy. We knew this when we booked, so it was not a major problem. - "Has a wonderful New Year at the cottage. Lovely welcome basket on arrival and a bottle of bubbles cooling in the fridge! The cottage is lovely - small enough to be cosy but big enough for plenty of room for the four of us plus our dog. The views are gorgeous and it was very peaceful. Weather was terrible but we still went to the seaside at Hastings (about 20 mins) and had a brilliant visit to the Shipwreck Museum and a windy walk on the beach. Loved walking in the woods and down to the Queens Head pub for lunch (all on paths which is good) Overall cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you so much - we'll definitely be back."

- "A very comfortable cottage in a peaceful place with a lovely view. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "Extremely comfortable property with everything you needed. Beautiful garden and views in peaceful and scenic location. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "We enjoyed our stay at the dairy very much. Lovely location, beautiful surroundings and an ideal base to visit attractions such as Sissinghurst and Great Dixter as well as accessing the coast where Winchelsea is a jewel of a village. For us a dishwasher rather than a washing machine would have been more useful but washing up by hand wasn't a problem. Wonderful garden, sitting out on the lawn in the September sunshine watching planes overhead in the blue skies was a memorable way to spend a Sunday afternoon."

- "Definitely need a car to stay here - no bus service but short car ride (no footpath) to local farm shop/cafe which was very welcoming. 15/20 minutes drive to Pevensey. Other beaches within easy distance - mostly dog friendly. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "Overall was very good, but the bed was really hard, like sleeping on a board and exiting on to the road was really nerve racking as it was on a bend and you couldn't see vehicles approaching from the right."

Named after the most famous conflict on English soil, this compact market town grew up alongside the battleground, tranquil medieval abbey and surrounding ancient woodlands and is largely unchanged to this day.
At Battle’s beating heart is a bustling mix of independent shops and businesses.
The northern end of the High Street is the Almonry, originally built in 1090, which houses the Battle Museum of Local History. Here you’ll find the world’s oldest Guy Fawkes – or at least his head, which is made of pear wood, and his silk cloak. Thought to be more than 200 years old, he is still in active service and leads the Battle Bonfire Boyes on their fiery procession through the town each November.
At the southern end is Battle Abbey, and behind it the once-bloody battlefield, now a peaceful meadow filled with wild flowers and birdsong. Here you can stand at the very spot where King Harold is said to have died.
Battle train station is about a 15min walk to the apartment
The property is located on Battle High Street and as parking is restricted in this area we recommend using mount street car park which costs £6.40 for 23 hours.
- "The flat is as described, clean cozy and adequately equipped. David is very prompt and responsive to any minor issues that arise." - "The property is exactly as pictured, warm and inviting. Great location in the the small town of Battle. I enjoyed my stay very much. David, the manager is very responsive and prompt to handle any problems." - "Suited me" - "Had a great 3 night stay here! Lovely location, with great view of Battle Abbey Gateway. The flat was cold on arrival, with no clear indication as to how to heat it, and it took us several hours of fiddling with the boiler controls before noticing where the thermostat was! Unfortunately the heating is quite ineffective in the top floor bedroom . Apart from that (and the provision of only one key, meaning I found myself locked in while my husband was out walking!) we had a very enjoyable stay. If we were in Battle again, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this lovely property."
