Set on the banks of the River Tilt, Marble Lodge is five miles up the Glen Tilt track, which is easily accessible by car if driven with care. Originally a shepherd’s cottage, Marble Lodge is a charming and comfortable lodge sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms, in addition, there is a large sitting room with an open fire. Surrounded by the wildlife and wilderness of Glen Tilt, Marble Lodge is well situated for long walks along the pony tracks and several Munros (hills over 3000ft) are within a day’s hike. Angling enthusiasts will particularly enjoy the salmon fishing available seasonally on the River Tilt, and for non-anglers, the sight of these fish as they make their way upstream to spawn is a spectacle.

- "Wow, wow, wow. This is truly a special place to stay. It is about a 20-25-minute drive into the estate past the main entrance for the Blair Castle, but it is so worth it. How often can you be entirely on your own (other than the sheep!) in a glen in Scotland with a beautiful river and stunning mountains just outside your door? The interior is more "rustic" than a high-end, modern home, but it goes with the experience. You feel as if you are part of the history of this home. The main bedroom bed is equivalent to a US double/full, but it was very comfortable and had quality linens. The second bedroom is much bigger. It was just two of us, so we used the floor space in the second bedroom to spread out our suitcases. The kitchen is well-equipped and easy to use. The "family room" is so cozy, with two small sofas and a fireplace. Wood was provided. Signs recommend not drinking or using the water to brush your teeth, but large bottles of water were provided (extras in the barn). The sheep are frequent visitors. We got groceries in Aviemore on the way down from Inverness. There is not a large grocery close by, so I recommend this. Easy visit to the castle and gardens (we did them over two days) and gorgeous hikes right from the lodge. We certainly see why families stay here over and over again. If it is available, book it!!"

- "We have been coming to Old Blair for a while now, annually with friends and children, always a joy. Very comfortable beds and warm duvets and lovely fluffy pillows. Bathrooms well appointed, lashings of hot water, and heating when you want to use it. dining room is perfect for gatherings , sitting room lovely and warm. New Kitchen which has been put in for this year, really nice but could do with an old, just a small table to cut food on with maybe an inset marble top to cut on as there is no spot to do that without potentially destroying the new formica top, where stuff is put on, and no room, but it is very functional otherwise. Maybe sharpen the knives ! maybe a couple more tea towels only 3 available, had to be washed every day. Bins now sorted outside which is great as before bottles were just outside back door, now there is the big bin! so much more orderly. Generally it was noted by us that any refurbishment required has been done, there really isnt anything we could fault. Hopefully we will be allowed back next year."

Salmon fishing on Beat 4 of River Tilt, which flows by the lodge, is exclusively available to lodge guests. The lodge was renovated to the highest standard in 2021 and retains a loving loyal list of regular families that return every year. The lodge is accessible up a eight-mile private track that follows the river Tilt up from Blair Atholl. Forest Lodge has the capacity to sleep up to 20 people along with a spacious drawing room with a large bay window facing south down the glen and an open fire. This year we chose Forest Lodge as one of two properties on the Atholl Estate. The Lodge is very comfortable, well appointed, warm and cosy.
