- "The property was all as described and more. Everything was well maintained and clean. All the appliances worked and the cooling system in August was perfect. The internet never failed even with the weather we had during our stay. We loved the large windows that brought in the outdoors. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We had our morning coffee on the side deck off of the sunk living room area and BBQ in front enjoying another scenic view of the property. We would love to visit again during the cooler months so to take advantage of big bonfires, sauna, explore more of their acreage and maybe getting to explore the creek that runs through the property. It is all still there to explore now but outside the manicured property the rest is lush. This home would be a wonderful place to relax and make memories for couples, families and smaller groups. Pets r allowed with 20.00 per pet per visit. pets should be kenneled whenleft alone in the cabin. Guests r responsible for any damage done by their pets. Come and stay in a quiet apartment that is the second floor of our country home that is located on 12 private acres. This is a convenient location at family friendly Bolivar Missouri that is 1 mile from hwy 13, 4 miles from the hospital and 5 miles from SBU. We are a 20 minutes drive from Stockton Lake and 30 minutes from Lake Pomme de Terre. This is a spacious three bedroom unit with each room having king bed and a walk in closet. There is a full kitchen and washer and dryer as well.

We had plenty of room, the kitchen was perfectly equipped for our meals, the washer/dryer was a life saver, and the beds were VERY comfortable! - "This house was exactly as advertised and was nice. The only reason for not rating it higher was there were a LOT of bugs (dead and alive) throughout the house and it needed a really good clean to get them cleaned up. Other than that the house was great! It does need to be stocked with 13X9 pan(s) though as I had to go buy disposable ones to make a dish and a larger skillet to cook in. The hosts did provided lots of extras though such as coffee, sugar, a few spices, powdered creamer, oil, etc. Overall, it was a very nice stay!"

Escape to the River House! On a cliff above the Pomme de Terre River, on the outskirts of Bolivar Missouri, is a peaceful place to enjoy a romantic weekend or recharge as you relax on the deck of this lovely home.
Whether the river is running high or low, it is a place for fun or relaxation. We have 4 kayaks (two child size and two adult size) for paddling and floating on the river. A short trail of moderate difficulty starts at the house and goes down the hillside and ends in steps at the river's edge. About 50 yards up river from the steps is a deep hole for fishing or swimming.
Even though the RIVER is so wonderful - the HOUSE completes the wonderfulness of this place to stay. The River House was designed to embrace the outdoors and connect with nature. Unwind on one of the many decks with your glass of wine, while listening to the river, and watching for eagles, fox, deer, owls, raccoons, otters, and herons. Or relax in the hot tub by moonlight and enjoy the stars.
The wooden Klepper kayak frame on the wall in the main room of the house was bought in 1950 by my parents and they passed it on to us in 1980. We bought a new hull at that time. But the rivers in Missouri aren't made for the thin skinned hull, so it was rarely used. It makes us so happy to see it become a part of this beautiful home.
For fresh eggs, bread, and produce, it is a ten minute drive to Greater Polk County Farmer’s Market on the Bolivar Square. It is held weekly (weather permitting) on Saturdays. Or give yourself a break from cooking and dine at the local restaurants in town.

This was the perfect place for us with our daughters family (she has an under 1 year old not crawling yet) so we didn't have to worry about the stairway. Great communication with the owners and easy check in and check out. We highly recommend!"

- "The house had a great, open layout. The common areas were spacious and comfortable. Our family had plenty of room and space to get ready for our many events. We were only booked Fri-Sun, but due to a family miscommunication, my parents arrived a day early. The host was easy to contact and accommodated an early day. Whats more, the refrigerator swasnt working. The host was quick to offer solutions and delivered a new refrigerator . I would recommend this place to anyone staying staying in teh area!"
