Our home is adjacent to the vacation home stay apartment with a private entrance and a designated parking area. The vacation home stay apartment is on the second level with beautiful views of the mountains featuring breathtaking waterfalls. The upstairs unit is private yet accessible to owners, when they are home.

Our vacation home comes with kitchenette: microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and a washer and dryer. The floor plan is very spacious with over 900 square feet of living space. A large lanai area to relax while viewing the mountains. Our home is only steps away from the popular Hanalei Bay or what the locals refer to as 'Pine Trees'. Winter swells brings in nice surf and summer sun attracts family vacations.

We do have a couple beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and a cooler for your use. Nearby shops and restaurants are conveniently located while popular hiking and snorkeling areas are just a few minutes down the road. Also a great area to go jogging or biking!

- "My wife, 10 year old son, and I had a wonderful week-long stay at the Guest House. The stream it sits on is great and we enjoyed paddle boarding down the stream to Wainiha beach. One thing I very much appreciated is that unlike many rentals, the house includes some basic food items, such as salt and pepper, coffee, rice, condiments in the fridge, etc. We made several meals, including grilling, and had all the utensils or appliances we needed. There were also several beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, and a couple boogie boards. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and reading. We tried to unplug as much as we could, and there was no cell service (a lot of hand made signs in the area in opposition to putting in a cell tower), but solid wifi that was easily good enough to stream movies at night. It isn't really within walking distance of any swimmable beaches, but is a short drive (less than 10-5 minutes) to several swimmable beaches and Hanalei. If you have a small group and want somewhere that isn't a resort and is fairly quiet, I highly recommend it."

Hale Huna ('Hidden House') is a wonderful cottage on a hillside near the end of the road on the North Shore of Kauai. Located on hill and a quiet cul-de-sac with only a few other local houses. Very private and peaceful (It is NOT on/near the highway like many Kauai rentals). Perfect for a family getaway or honeymoon cottage.

Our cottage had no flooding or leaks during the 2018 flood on the North Shore. It is above the regular tsunami inundation zone, but just within the extreme tsunami inundation zone if there's a 9.0 or greater magnitude earthquake in the Aleutian Islands. The safe zone can be reached by walking uphill to the other side of the street or by driving to Princeville.

Beautiful views of green mountains from backyard. Lush plant life, including mango, grapefruit, banana and lemon trees. Outdoor shower sheltered by tropical foliage. This is a small but charming and tastefully furnished plantation-style cottage with the feel of real Hawaii. Within five minutes drive of gorgeous sandy beaches: incredible snorkeling at Tunnels and Ke'e Beaches, world class surf at Hanalei Bay and picturesque Lumahai.

The closest town is charming Hanalei, which has restaurants, a grocery store, a health food store, shops, bars and more. Hanalei Bay is famous for its large crescent beach, winter surfing and calm summer waters. The stunning NaPali Coast is just minutes away (the mountains seen from the backyard are the back of the Pali's/Mountains).

The North Shore of Kauai is known for its lush tropical, rainforest-like climate and vegetation and low key lifestyle. It's a fantastic place to relax, read, swim, hike, surf, snorkel, eat fresh fish and my favorite, just walking on the beach looking for shells.

Kitchen had everything we needed! About 15 minute drive to Hanalei with many great restaurants and a pier/beach. Beautiful views of the mountains and landscape, close access to beaches and snorkeling (10-20 minute walk)."

The Old Style is a stand alone beach house just steps from the sand as seen above (Standard occupancy is 2*). There is lots of light, great views & a very restful feeling. Single wall redwood was the preferred building style back in the day. It is beautifully painted to accentuate the style of the time.

The floor plan is open to enjoy the living dining & kitchen areas while taking in the views. There is a full kitchen for cooking up island fish & fare and other tropical treats. The bedroom is cool and comfortable with a king bed. In the living room are two pune'e or day beds that could accommodate children in addition. It is called the Old Style since it was once the old vicarage house of the Wai'oli Mission.

The lanai is a fabulous place to relax at the end of a hard day lounging around on the beach or discovering more of Kauai. You are about 4 blocks to Hanalei town with its cool shops and restaurants. Nice walk home after dinner.

There is a washer & dryer set in a newly renovated laundry hut just steps away for your laundry needs and a hot & cold outside shower for after the beach. Folks love this house & we have many returning guests.

- "Our stay in this home was wonderful. The views from the deck are stunning and the house is so comfortable. The proximity to Hanalei was great. Such a charming little town! You can walk all the way down to Tunnels Beach with other snorkeling opportunities in between. I can’t attest to the snorkeling behind the house as there was a brand new baby monk seal and the beach was closed. Super cool to see that as it is a rare happening. The beds were all comfortable, even the sofa sleepers. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Beach toys and boogie boards were nice to have as well. The kids enjoyed the Bocce Ball set quite a bit too! The owner’s communication was quick and responsive, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a beautiful home and we would absolutely come back!"

So many things, but to name a few: - Hanalei and the surrounding areas boast regular top rankings for their beautiful beach (Hanalei Bay), spectacular volcanic mountains with cascading 3,000+ foot-long waterfalls, walking, hiking and biking trails (famous Na Pali Coast), and the nearby Prince Golf Course in Princeville. - One of the best things about Hanalei is that there are no hotels, no condos, and very few sidewalks as we enjoy the rural and more quiet atmosphere; Hanalei is a small tropical town with a fun surfing vibe. - The restaurants and other small businesses are mainly family owned/local establishments that will adequately and pleasantly meet your needs during your stay! What do I love about Tutu’s Cottage? Tutu’s Cottage has a welcoming home-away-from-home feel for your visit to tropical Hanalei. With a fantastic location, you will be within WALKING DISTANCE to both the BEACH (5 min.) and center of TOWN (3 min). Our cottage has two lanais, with the backyard lanai having an unobstructed, breathtaking view of the Hanalei mountains (after a rain, you will see beautiful waterfalls cascading down the mountains). The kitchen is well equipped, the yard is very private (no neighbors behind our cottage), and I should mention the outdoor shower (with hot water) – you will love this after your day at the beach! From palm trees in the front yard, to the back yard with a private and magnificent mountain view, I know you will love this property as much as I do! We keep our house extremely clean! Our cleaning fee is a reasonable $260.

- "Tutu’s Cottage was perfect!! Amazing location, 5 minute walk to Hanalei Bay, 3 min walk to downtown Hanalei, Tahiti Nui (our favoriterestaurant), Food trucks and multiple restaurants & shops. Loved being able to walk down & grab a coffee, or go to the grocert store if we needed anything. We rented a car to travel the island but having so many places within walking distance was wonderful! Place was SUPER clean!! I was very impressed. The beds were extremely comfortable, and with fans on at night, we slept comfortably for 2 weeks. We only showered in the outdoor shower, it was peaceful, private & had beautiful views. My favorite part of the house! We cooked & grilled multiple nights over our 2 week stay, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. House came with comfortable beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, buckets/toys & a beach buggy to carry it all, made it a breeze to go to the beach... which we did everyday. This means, any disruptive noises, such as screaming, children playing loudly, talking/laughing loudly, at any time, may solicit a complaint from the neighbors. We ask that you manage your noise levels appropriately. If there are complaints re: noise, you will be contacted and informed of the type of noise that is a disturbance. If there are additional complaints, you may be charged up to $500. If there are further complaints, after multiple warnings and lo you will be asked to leave the property. - "Ideal location. Condo was very clean. The AC in the bedrooms was great and the temperature upstairs was comfortable in late July. My daughter slept in the upstairs daybed with no issues. The outdoor lanai is awesome and breezy, with a view of the ocean in front and mountains and waterfalls behind. We would wind down on the lanai each night with a nice drink. There is a fully stocked kitchen and grill available but despite our original plans, we didn't cook a dinner there. We found out we would rather spend more time on the beach or a hike than cooking and cleaning our own meals. That said, having a full size fridge and stocked kitchen was still ideal and used often. We also used the body boards and beach equipment every day, that was a huge convenience. The driveway and garage are a little tight and I'm glad we didn't rent a full sized SUV. The hosts were responsive and great as well. We loved our stay in Kauai and can't wait to go back."

Privately tucked away, on the Mauka (mountain) side of the road, behind a front house (where the housekeepers live), the rental house sits. Capture unobstructed mountain and waterfall views behind the rear yards lush private conservation lands where occasional donkeys, cows, or horses graze while soaking in the outdoor bathdut on the 50' x 10' rear lanai. Step inside the house to enjoy the cedar wood walls and local artwork of the land where hula began. - "Beautiful home, dreamy location. I could have been happy spending all my time at the house. Furnished with warmth and love and decorated to honor Kauai and Hawaiian culture. The live edge wooden table, pebble shower floors, quality cotton linens, hammered copper sinks, iron palm tree screen door. Gorgeous! Comfortable beds, plenty of fans and ac, and blackout curtains made for a good night’s sleep. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed many family meals here. Wonderful location. The lanai is a destination all its own, with a yard of exotic plants and a view of majestic green mountains. Outdoor furnishings to relax and unwind, and plenty of quiet and privacy. Great location for nature and adventure as well. We were able to walk to tunnels beach and ha’ena beach park. The house comes with loads of beach gear and a beach wagon. - "Really enjoyed walk-in to the beach from the house and being near enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Town has everything needed for a stay. Having air conditioning and fans was a bonus. - "My wife and I stayed here in February '22 while she was pregnant with our first child. We brought our daughter back in July of '23 and wanted to stay at this same place. We love the beach cottage. It's so charming. We love the location, and we love the short (3 min) walk to Black Pot Beach to watch the sunrise over Hanalei Bay.
