Welcome to our high floor corner unit with an amazing view. It is what you expect from the pictures and the discription but only better. These are the words from our guests so to be belived. This unit had kitchen and bathrooms recently renovated as well as the main area floor. The condo itself is tastefully decorated and comes with all of the creature comforts of home. It is a one bedroom corner unit, with a king size bed, writing table, wall mounted TV, large walk-in closet with an en suite bathroom. Additional sleeping (queen sized bed) is provided by a new soft leather pull out couch located in the living room with a half bath in the main living space.
Our linen and towels are high quality that are sure to enhance your comfort.
The unit has its own washer and dryer, dishwasher, and 2 separate air conditioning units. Home cooking is a vital part of our life and as such, we have made sure to stock the kitchen just like back home, with ample knives, cutting boards, quality pots and pans, salad spinners, bakeware, cookware etc. While cooking your supper after a long day on the beach, enjoy the sounds of the ocean while enjoying the fabulous view. With our luxurious high top table and chairs on the lanai, enjoy your dinner while watching the beautiful sunset. This is also a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast, and a great place to count the number of turtles surfacing in the bay. If you wish to watch the sunrise, simply head out to the walkway on the other side of building (immediately out the front door of the unit) and watch the sunrise over the Makaha Valley Mountains. LOCATION:
This property is on the west coast of Oahu in Wai'anae, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. The weather is less humid, less rainy and has more sunshine than other parts of the island. This weather lends itself to some of the clearest, cleanest waters on the island of Oahu.
This CORNER unit is located on a higher floor of the Hawaiian Princess condo building and overlooks a deserted 1 km stretch of breathtaking beach on Lahilahi point (turtle point). Our condominium is one of only a few buildings that are built right on the beach with the Pacific Ocean right off the door stop of the building. It is "Oahu's Best Kept Secret" as most travellers and many locals are not familiar with this spectacular beach. Once there many guests become repeat travellers to our condo.

LOCAL AND COMMON AMENITIES:
There is always room on the nearly deserted beach, a beach which words can do no justice (see attached pictures). The area is great for snorkeling (lots of fish, turtles, and more), swimming, or just playing around in the waves. Every day, you will see tourist boats troll the shores in search of whales...yes, this means you will see whales breaching the surface of the water from the comfort of the beach or your lanai. If you are looking for adrenaline pumping excitement, then look no further as the surf can get fairly large at times as the adjacent beach (Makaha beach) routinely holds surfing competitions. You can rent surf boards, boogie boards, bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, etc. from the local shops (5 minutes away) and can take surf lessons at the nearby army beach. There are options close by where the waves are tame (due to a breakwater) and the water is shallow (Pokai Beach) if you are traveling with little ones, or if you want to venture a little further away (20 minute drive), check out the lagoons located at the Disney Resort at Ko Olina. There are nearby hikes (i.e. mountain ranges, flatland hike to Albatross breeding ground), reasonably priced golf courses and many other local treasures to enjoy (i.e. restaurants, deep sea fishing, etc.). If you wish to do any major sight seeing, everything is only a car ride away (i.e. Hanauma Bay, sky diving, paragliding, etc.).

The grounds boast a beautiful refurbished pool deck and hot tub surrounded by new chaise lounges where you can bask in the sun if you want a break from the beach and surf. There is a tennis court or pickle ball court open to all guests and a common barbecue area (with 2 large large Weber Grills), complete with picnic benches and tables.

- "Our overall impression of the property was amazing! Seriously view was breathtaking, sunsets were beautiful and out of this world! The beach was calm, and there was hardly anybody ever on the beach. Even in the heat of the day there was never more than 30 people on Makaha Beach, a 300 ft to 400 ft beach with light yellow gold sand and aqua blue and turquoise waters. And with the beach as your backyard, especially a beach like that, everything was perfect!! The shower was a little bit small, the pocket doors to the bathrooms were a little bit awkward. I'm a big guy so maybe that's just me. It's not Ritz-Carlton as it is in a fairly regular working class neighborhood. Since I'm working class that didn't bother me. It's also fair to say that Waimea as it's share of homeless, but I did not see any on the property or adjacent to the property. I did see some encampments driving along the highway for approaching the turn into the complex most of them are along the other beaches close to the area but not the beach that the resort is on. Let's just say this I've stayed in many hotels on beaches around the world but very few had such a quiet and pristine Beach as a one that this property is on. Makaha Beach was again amazing!"

We came across Shelley’s condo and fell in love with the pictures and location. Let me tell you the pictures do not do the gorgeous view and location justice! It was so nice coming off a long flight to rest in a clean and comfortable place. The AC units were great at helping to cool the place and surprisingly the queen bed was comfortable and that’s saying something because my husband and I have a purple brand mattress at home and we love our bed so much we were worried the bed wouldn’t be comfortable but that didn’t happen. Shelley was also super sweet and had great communication throughout out stay and even emailed us a list of things to do and see. We will definitely be back because we loved our stay!"

- "This was a great stay. We loved the Lanai and drank coffee every morning watching the waves. The unit was stocked well for all your basic needs and items for the beach. The condo was clean and you felt very secure. The only issue is you are a long way from Honolulu and activities. The traffic moves smoothly but is heavy. We drove about an hour each way to do our activities. If you do t mind the drive or just looking for a place to relax on the beach or on the Lanai I would highly recommend it."

Hawaiian Princess 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath end unit penthouse. There is no better ocean/beach view on the westside of the island than from the lanai of this 16th floor condo. This condo sits right on the beach. 850 square feet inside the condo, and 400 square feet of lanai space, for a total of 1,250 sq feet.
Watch turtles, dolphins and in the winter, whales from your private lanai. Open up the windows and let the tropical breeze and the sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep on our super comfy gel foam bed. Prepare meals in our kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, and enjoy watching sunsets while dining on the lanai. NOTE: This part of the island is a mixture of socio-economic backgrounds. We have multimillion dollar homes mixed with lower income housing and unfortunately, some homeless camps. There are camps on the west side because of the great weather, but there are homeless all over the island, especially in the big city. The average price of a home is well over a million dollars here. That prices a lot of people out of paradise. We are a gated and secure building. Most people leave their lanai doors open 24/7 to let the breeze come in and to hear the sights and sounds of the ocean. Just as an FYI, we live in the area, and we have never had an incident related to the homeless, except maybe someone holding a sign looking for a meal or a couple of dollars.

ALOHA, this beautiful, white sandy beach front home is located, right in front of Turtle Cove Beach. Not to mention, that it is also close to the world famous Makaha Surf Beach. Of course all the beaches on the West side are beautiful and is one of Oahu's best kept secrets. Our condo is a perfect get-away, vacation. You can hear the waves coming into the shore all night long and sometimes you may wake up to see large Sea Turtles or Dolphins swimming around. You might even see a sleepy seal sharing our sandy beach, in the early morning hours. During the months of November through April, yields an opportunity to see Whales, just beyond the surf. The sunsets on this side of the island are just spectacular, almost breataking. Celebrate each evening ritual with our neighbors, blowing Conch Shells, as the sun sets. Very few people there during the week and not many more on the weekends. Everybody we encountered there was super friendly. OUR AREA IN OAHU: We are located in Makaha. We are on the leeward side of the island on the Waianae coast, home to the Spinner Dolphins. We are one mile from world famous Makaha Surfing Beach and 5-10 minutes from several other popular west side beaches including Yokohama Bay and Poka’i Bay (child and baby friendly). Golfing is only one mile down the road at The Makaha Valley Country Club and Golf Course. You can swim with the turtles and snorkel nearby. There is a beach activity rental spot nearby at Hale Nalu. This is a bedroom community that is far away from it all, which makes it a great budget friendly place to stay, yet the whole island is accessible to you by car in less than 2 hours (1 hour to Waikiki). There is no right or wrong place to stay on the island. It's a matter how much you want to spend and your personal preference. Makaha is considered the country. This is down home, unpretentious Hawaii. If you like the quiet mountain backdrop, rest and relaxation, topped off with a fantastic ocean view, and uncrowded yet safely lifeguarded beaches then this is the place for you. We are located just 20 minutes north of Ko'Olina, home to Aulani the Disney Resort. The west side has changed a lot in the past 13 years since the opening of the Disney resort and is experiencing tourism more than ever. We have spectacular beaches and one of the best hikes on the island to Ka’ena Point. The Waianae Boat Harbor is nearby where you can take a day cruise to snorkel and swim with dolphins. Enjoy a family friendly day at the Ko'Olina Lagoons (Disney), eat dinner at Roy's, The Monkey Pod or any of the other great restaurants that are in the Ko'Olina resort area. Nearby is the town of Kapolei where you can enjoy excellent dining, go to the movies, shop at Target or buy organic groceries at Down to Earth - a Hawaiian organic grocery chain, not to mention the brand new west side mall – Ka Makana Ali’i. There are a couple of great Luau's, Germaine's and Paradise Cove. But do not fret, we have some great local restaurants in Makaha and super close (5-10 min.) such as Coquito’s, Hannara, The Spicy House, and The Beach House by 604 just to name a few. They are small and simple (some might call hole-in-the-wall) but boy is the food good. “Da west side is da best side” as the locals say. We agree!

OUR CONDO COMPLEX: Makaha Valley Plantation is the name of the condo complex. We are located one mile from Makaha Beach. We are a low rise 3 story complex comprising of many buildings. We are a gate guarded complex with stringent 24/7 security. The staff is super friendly and you are usually greeted with a wave or shaka. The landscaping is lush and green. There are peacocks (and peahens) that freely roam the grounds. We have two swimming pool areas each with a large pool, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. There are showers and bathrooms at each pool area. Each pool area offers a party cabana which can be reserved for a private party or celebration. There are charcoal barbecues near the cabanas and in various locations throughout the complex as well as near our unit. We have a tennis court on property. There is a basketball court very close to our unit. A few units in the complex offer an ocean view and ours is one of them. During whale season (Dec. - May) whales can be seen from our lanai with the provided binoculars. The island bus stops right in front of the guard shack (www.thebus.org) and will take you anywhere on the island. OAHU VS. THE OTHER ISLANDS: Oahu is always a good idea. Oahu offers virtually everything except volcanos! You can be in the crazy hustle and bustle of tourist busses, trolley cars, and throngs of people in Waikiki - to the quiet, mountain backdrop and local chill of the west - to the huge winter waves of the North shore - and if you like hoity toity then Kailua is the place to visit. There are plenty of garden areas, beautiful quiet-and-not-so-quiet beaches, and spectacular snorkeling. Of course, Honolulu is the capitol of Hawaii and it is located on our island of Oahu, so one may say that Oahu is the main island. Most of what the other islands offer, you can find on Oahu but everything Oahu offers can’t necessarily be found on the other islands. Oahu has no active volcano’s though. There are also no land animals on Oahu that can hurt you while hiking or otherwise. There are no snakes and rabies is unheard of. The other islands are beautiful and each has its own gift. We love Oahu because of the diversity from one side of the island to the other.

WHO AND WHY: Tell us your who and your why. Tell us who is visiting. Who are you traveling with? Is this your first time on the island or have you been to Waikiki several times and now you just want to get away. How did you come upon Makaha? The more you tell us the easier it is to make sure we are a good fit for one another, namely that you will be comfortable in our condo and in our area. We do not discriminate. - "From the moment we walked in the door we knew we made the right decision when we booked with Natalie and Michael. A beautiful gift basket was waiting for us, Hawaiian music was playing on the TV, the fridge was stocked with bottles of water, and as we made our way through each room and opened all the cupboards and doors we couldn’t believe how well stocked the unit was. You literally only need to bring your clothes!! During our 3 week stay we enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets, hiked the many trails the Westside has to offer and lounged and swam at some of the most beautiful beaches we have seen in Makaha and Waianae. The owners have provided a detailed book which includes everything you need to know about the Westside including beaches, hikes, best places to eat out, etc. The unit cools off nicely in the evening and since we weren’t in the unit during the day we only used the ceiling fans and did not need to use the A/C. The king bed is one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. The quality of the linens, towels, kitchen appliances, etc. are that of a 5 star hotel. The complex is kept meticulously clean and everyone we met in the complex were all so welcoming. It was very hard for us to leave as we felt we had found our home away from home.
