Park Street is one of the small roads leading from the market place with rows of finely built terraced cottages. As Park Street recedes from the market place it is joined from the west by Swinton Terrace which leads out to Masham Golf Club and the glories of Swinton Park.

Just before the junction with Swinton terrace is a short row of stone built terraced cottages sitting back from the roadway. Magnolia Cottage is a modern conversion snuggled in at the end of this short terrace. To the front of the cottage is a paved yard, shared by the adjoining cottage, with flower borders, a mature garden and ample room for parking.

Entry is to a hallway with a small utility alcove which leads through to the main lounge/dining room at the rear of the cottage. Welcome to Morton House a True Yorkshire Retreat in Masham...

Morton House is a grade II listed stone farmhouse just off the market square in the picturesque market town of Masham. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of all amenities, pubs, shops and of course Masham’s famous breweries – The Black Sheep and Theakstons.

Morton House has been totally renovated retaining much of the charm and features you would expect including exposed beams, open fireplace, fantastic loft master suite and farmhouse style kitchen/diner. The rear (shared) garden is fully fenced, private and sunny (when the sun shines!) There is parking at the door on the street. The house is centrally heated throughout and available all year.

The property has 4brms - the very large master suite in the loft with a king size bed and additional single day bed has an ensuite bathroom. On the first floor at the front of the property there is a superking 'Gold' bedroom and a double bedroom which share the house bathroom. At the rear on this level is the twin bedroom with an ensuite shower room. All bedrooms have comfy mattresses and cosy cotton bed linens and pillows/duvet (no feather pillows).

On the ground floor there are two sitting rooms to the front of the property - the more formal 'Green' room with Chesterfield sofas and open fire place, and the cosy TV room with wood burning stove and comfy sofas. There is a large flat screen TV with SKY movies and sports and a games console. Also a games box with board games and books.

At the rear of the property move through the lobby to the large farmhouse style kitchen and dining area which has a door out to the shared courtyard garden. You will find the kitchen fully kitted with utensils to cook up a storm and all the usual gadgets - large range style cooker and double oven, dishwasher, microwave, under bench larder fridges etc. There is an American style fridge/freezer in the shared utility area along with a downstairs loo, washing machine and tumble dryer.

The town of Masham is superbly placed for walking and visiting local attractions. A market has been held here since 1393 when a charter was granted by Richard II and the town subsequently thrived due to the easy access of the flocks from nearby Fountains and Jervaulx Abbeys. It still hosts a market every Wednesday and Saturday, and there are plenty of welcoming pubs and delightful tearooms.

Set over three floors, downstairs there are two reception rooms - a formal sitting room with an open fire and a family room with SKY TV and cosy wood burning stove. The large farmhouse style kitchen and dining area is a lovely place to relax with friends and family and cook up a storm on the large 7 burner range cooker. There is also a downstairs WC for your convenience.

Morton House offers four bedrooms, all upstairs. One Super-King size room, a double and a twin with the large master bedroom in the loft. Attached at the rear of Morton House, enclosed in a walled courtyard garden is The Stable Block. Inside a very sweet cottage-style kitchen, dining and lounge area complete with SKY TV with flat screen TV. The lounge also features French doors leading out to the private walled patio courtyard with its gas BBQ.

There is a downstairs en suite (shower) bedroom which also enjoys access to the garden via French doors. On sunny days the sunshine pours through the window onto the bed. Upstairs a further two bedrooms (a King size and a small twin) are joined by a further shower room.

This property is well suited to guests with limited mobility but please note we are not fully disabled accessible.

Both buildings are attached and within a few yards of one another and a baby monitor will reach from the bedroom in The Stable Block to the main house. The garden is fully fenced so perfect for little ones to run around in and it catches the sun in the warmer months.
