" - "Booking: I went through Expedia to book my package and vacation, which was 6 days at the Emerald Estates Luxury Villas, part of the Pueblo Bonito Resorts properties, all-inclusive package. The booking was easy, straightforward, and left little to vague interpretation or fine print nonsense. The package was stated as an all inclusive package with access to the other resort property that was more activities-based and featured more restaurants to choose from. These restaurants claim to be part of the all-inclusive package but beware of some items on the menu that will be out of pocket. Those are not itemized or disclosed in their entirety in its listing, booking, or disclosures, that I saw. The airlines were included in the package, which was outstanding. However, please note that you will need to choose from the package flights available. Ours were two connections to Mazatlan, and three coming back, it was rough. Alternative flights would have cost us 500 dollars more per person. The property: Wow!! that's all I have to say. Exactly as advertised. We saw a three bedroom four bath, private pool and hottub, on the property, and part of the all-inclusive package. All in 5,400 dollars for the week (property, flights, all-inclusive), even with the final charges (as I'll detail later) we didn't bust our budget of 6,000 dollars US. There is a 4 dollar room service charge every time they go out. We mostly got room service and averaged about three times a day resulting in about 60 doll"

The good: The employees were super friendly and helpful. Augustine, who runs the shop/restaurant on site, was FANTASTIC. I didn't have time to use it because of our schedule, but I stopped in, and it looked nice. Great location for accessing the Mazatlan Marina. Easy Uber ride to other places you might want to go. Room was clean and comfortable. No frills, but we didn't need any. The not-so-good but fixable stuff: We were only provided one towel each for 8 days. Between showering, the pool, and the beach, they got pretty gross. Now that I know that, I will bring more with me next time. The hot tub was broken the whole time we were there. Only two rolls of toilet paper were provided for the week. We ended up buying more. Again, I will just bring more with me next time. The not-fixable: There is a nightclub nearby that kept me awake all weekend from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. I am an admittedly light sleeper, so it might not bother other people. If you want to go to the nightclub, you are in a great spot. It sounded like people were having a great time :) "

THE ANIMALS were my favorite part. I felt like I was on a mini safari. They are so well taken care of and the grounds were immaculate!! We had been grocery shopping and had to throw away nearly everything because we couldn't find a similar property with a fridge nearby. It was 8pm at night, and we had been driving 10 hours. We were exhausted. Customer Service wasn't helpful. At all. The scammers were very clever though - the key box code worked, but they changed the locks, so none of the keys worked. Although Expedia refunded our money, we were still out of pocket for the groceries and double the hotel cost we had to pay finding a location at the last minute. I find it surprising that Expedia didn't vet this property better. The property manager told us that this has happened a number of times already, and he wasn't surprised to hear we were scammed. - "The apartment is in a useful location, only 2 blocks from the beach and near to restaurants, atm, convenience store, and a pharmacy. Convenient and safe. It has an elevator and electronic door locks that take a moment to figure out how to get the keypad to display. Self parking was easy. We had no problems with theft. There is construction going on nearby (as is everywhere) but was of no impact. The property is located between 2 event centres (La Ferro Jardín & Atlantis Event Centre) which had loud music until about 1am on three nights. The room #9 was not furnished as pictured. The kitchen has wood cabinets, there is no chandelier, no coffee tables, no art work. The paint was peeling on the walls by the windows, and it was not very clean. There was a problem 2 days with the water pump so there was no tap water or ability to flush the toilet each time. It was promptly fixed each time (within 4 hours). The #9 had a shower hot water tap valve broken, so we shut the master valve off to the hot water tank in order to shut the shower off. We had to prove that we had 2 adults booked to get the second bed’s linen. There was no hairdryer, nor was one provided when asked. Gabriela (property manager) was polite and responsive. The rooftop patio has a charcoal grill (you buy your own). There are not any tables, chairs, nor any loungers for resting on the roof patio. Handy location but noisy. "
