Our beautiful holiday lodge sits at the highest point of the Towan Valley resort, tucked away in a quiet corner. It has a rear terrace, front veranda and a first floor balcony that offer privacy and enable you to be in the sun all day long, or in the shade if it gets too hot. The communal garden to the front is great for children to play and meet others staying in neighbouring properties. The large paved terrace at the rear is a private and sheltered space ideal for sunbathing and relaxing on the large corner sofa.

Porthtowan's famous sand and surf beach is just a short walk away, while village amenities include a small grocery store, children's playground, surf hire and tuition and numerous cafes and pub / restaurants including the famous Blue Bar and newly refurbished Unicorn On The Beach.

The ground floor of the house is very spacious and light with three glazed doors and side windows. The lounge area has two comfortable leather sofas, coffee tables, a 49 in. Smart TV and a wide choice of reading material, games etc. The dining area has a large and sturdy oak dining set to seat 8, plus a further table for study, card games etc. The kitchen is separate and also large and well-equipped with a view to the rear and back terrace. There is also a WC on the ground floor.

The rear of the house is open right up to the roof with huge windows which greet the morning sun. A painted wood staircase leads to the first floor.

The main bedroom is also very spacious and has a delightful balcony which gets the sun for most of the day and has a lovely view over the rooftops to the surrounding countryside and down to the sea. This room has a superking size bed, plenty of drawers and a hanging rail plus a good sized en-suite shower room. Two more bedrooms offer a king size double bed and twin beds , both with storage space and hanging rails. The shared family bathroom has a full size bath with thermostatic shower mixer, plus wash basin and WC.

There is an allocated parking space about 50 metres walk from the entrance door. Please note the access path is on a slope and includes some steps so is probably not suitable for anyone with limited mobility that wants to come and go frequently.

It is a short walk down the hill to the beach (less than 5 mins). The property was spotlessly clean, with modern furniture in a spacious open plan setting. The kitchen has everything you need and all utensils, cutlery and crockery match perfectly. Bathrooms were also spotless. A lot of care and attention has been taken by the owner who's communication before during and after has been impeccable. We will certainly be looking to head back in the near future. This lovely timber holiday home is located in a small resort of similar properties, just a few minutes' walk from Porthtowan beach, village and coastal paths. The house is at the heart of the resort in an elevated position and with a private rear access direct from its own parking space. It has a spacious and enclosed rear terrace, a front veranda, and a first floor balcony that offer privacy and the option of sun or shade all day long. The high speed fibre internet connection makes the house ideal for even the most demanding of internet users or for remote working.

The house has many sustainable features including cedar cladding, a sedum turf roof, very high levels of insulation, an integrated ventilation system with heat recovery and a heat pump / air conditioning unit. The resort is located in a sheltered coastal valley, and was carefully designed to blend in beautifully with the surrounding landscape.

Village amenities include a small grocery store, children's playground, surf hire and tuition and numerous cafes and pub / restaurants including the famous Blue Bar and newly refurbished Unicorn On The Beach.

The ground floor is very spacious and light with three glazed doors and side windows. The lounge area has two large leather sofas, coffee table, and a 43 in. Smart TV. The dining area has a large and sturdy oak dining set and a third leather sofa. The kitchen is separate and also large and well-equipped with a view to the rear and back terrace. There is also a WC on the ground floor.

The rear of the house is open right up to the roof with huge windows which greet the morning sun in summer. A staircase leads to the first floor.

The first floor has high quality laminate flooring throughout and tiles in the bathrooms. The main bedroom is large and has a delightful balcony with a fine view over the rooftops to the surrounding countryside and this gets the sun for most of the day . This room has a king size bed, a wardrobe and chest of drawers plus a good sized en suite with electric shower. Two more bedrooms offer a double bed and twin beds , both with storage space and hanging rails. The shared family bathroom has a full size bath with bath / shower mixer, plus wash basin and WC.

The spacious rear terrace gets the sun in the morning and provides an ideal spot for breakfast, or to rinse off and relax after a swim or surf. There is access directly from the allocated parking space and it is enclosed which will be especially useful if you are bringing the family pet.

The spacious open plan living/dinning/kitchen with log burner and has seating for 8+ persons. These room have amazing views of the North Cornish Coast down towards St Ives . Through sliding doors from the open planned area, you can sit in the conservatory, admiring the amazing views and the beautiful enclosed garden. The garden has a large decking area and plenty of seating, great for children and dogs.
If you exit the house turn right, you are on Cornwall Coastal path, great for dogs walks and breathtaking scenery The beach is accessible down the coast path and takes 4-5 minutes or you can drive, there is a large carpark at the beach.
Porthtowan itself offers a variety of restaurants and bars. The famous Blue Bar is a great place to watch the sunset while having a cocktail. If you would like to go traditional the Victory Inn 5 min walk away. Victory Inn has an enviable reputation for both food and drink. A classic Cornish pub, the menu has something for everyone and always includes fresh fish and shellfish. Serving real ales, plenty of parking and a suntrap beer garden.

This charming and comfortable beach front apartment overlooks one of Cornwall's most beautiful and renowned surfing beaches.
The sand and surf of pretty Porthtowan, are just yards from the apartments large balcony, facing west into the setting sun. Porthtowan itself is like a secret, secluded village, nestled around natural sand dunes and a crystal clear, bubbling stream that runs down to the sea.

The village has a local shop, post office, fish & chip shop, plus beachside pub and first class cafe, as well as an excellent Cornish ice cream parlour. Everything is within a short walking distance from the apartment.
To the left and right, beautiful cliff walks climb up on either side of the sandy bay, giving dramatic views of the Atlantic. Go left, 4miles to Portreath in the west, or climb right, to Chapel Porth and St. Agnes in the east, and enjoy a stunning 4 mile cliff walk, passing ancient tin mines (real Poldark country), to arrive in the beautiful, Trevaunance Cove.

- "PERFECT for a beach holiday! Literally yards from one of the best beaches in Cornwall. Above a great cafe (but only open 10-4 so doesn’t affect your stay) and opposite a coffee shop. The Space:

Please note, the default will be a king set up and we will only make up the twin room on request. All of these bedrooms share a bathroom with a luxurious large bath and brass overhead shower. There is also a separate WC for convenience.

The Neighborhood:
Welcome to Porthtowan, a hidden gem along the rugged coast of Cornwall. The beach is lifeguarded every day from early May to the end of September, as well as during the Easter and October holidays. So it's a great location for families or those learning to surf. Equipment hire is available down on the beach.

Explore the South West Coast Path with breathtaking cliff-top walks offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Unwind with a stroll or visit nearby attractions like Wheal Coates Tin Mine, steeped in history. Down on the beach, you'll find the popular Blue Bar which is a favourite spot for sunset drinks as well as decent food. There are also a couple of other pubs, a great fish & chip shop and a wood-fired pizza truck on certain days. All of which is only a few minutes walk from the house!

Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. Private parking is available on the drive for 1 vehicle. Additional parking can be found in the main village car park which costs £3.70 per 24hrs from 1st April to 30 October, but it is free during the winter.

Other Things to Note:
The property has an annexe with shared access via the steps and across the deck. This is only used intermittently by the owner, Neil, and is not rented separately to other guests. If you bump into him, feel free to ask him any questions about the property and area! And say hello to his cat, Squeak and his Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maggie. Both pets are friendly but if you have any phobias or allergies to dogs or cats please let us know at the time of booking.

There are around 30 steps up from the driveway to the house, so the property may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations.

The BBQ is available for use from April to October.

Driftwood is located in a quiet cul de sac and is on the first floor. The apartment is on a split level with the master bedroom upstairs. The kitchen and living room is open plan. The second bedroom contains bunk beds. The kitchen was new in October 2017 and bathroom December 2018. Sleeps 4.

- "Flat was very clean, and ideally located to get to the beach. Very good value for money." - "A very nicely placed flat in a quiet cul-de sac with free private parking perfectly located a short distance up a shallow hill very close to the beach, surf hire, cafes and pub. The arm chairs in the kitchen / lounger are very comfortable and the free TV is very easy to use with plenty of channels. The kitchen is well kitted, but could do with a separate light as there is only one switch for the whole room and if the curtains are open neighbours in the terrace opposite can see in. We turned it off to enjoy private meals with a view of the beach. The large bed in the top bedroom is super comfortable and one of the best I've ever slept in. You can't open the sole window in the roof of this room but its ventilation hatch does a good job over time and there's a better view of the beach when standing. There are no photos of the outside of the flat probably because it's the top floor of a bland looking mid-terrace. It doesn't show up on Google Maps because the road name is missing even though it's the same name as the road before it. It 's also easy to confuse it with Diftwood Cottage, which is shown on Google Maps.but is completely unrelated. The beach is fabulous and goes out a long way at low tide with good caves to explore and excellent RNLI protection. Walk a mile north on the coastal path and you'll find famous tin mine ruins. The area is well organised and quiet at night and overall I highly recommend this property."

'THE LITTLE MERMAID', PORTHTOWAN

We are delighted to offer, on behalf of the owner, this cute little semi-detached chalet bungalow. 'The Little Mermaid' is located in Tregoyne, which is a little 'horseshoe' of similar properties, mostly residential with families, but with a small number of holiday lets. The award-winning Porthtowan beach is just a few minute's walk down the road (which initially is a steady slope, so may be approx 10 minute's walk back up, depending on how fit you are!).

Accommodation comprises:

Decked entrance with bistro seating, with patio doors leading into open plan lounge/kitchen.
Leading through to first bedroom which has a double bed, a short wardrobe/drawer unit, two bedside cabinets and touch lamps with USB ports.
Please note: the bathroom is accessed via the double bedroom. Bathroom comprises a shower cubicle, toilet and sink.
Stairs in the lounge lead you to the second bedroom which is situated in the converted loft (with velux window). Here you will find two single beds, drawers, shelves and clothes hanging space. Due to the slightly low sloping sides of the ceiling, please note the max central height is 170 cm.
The lounge has a comfy sofa, a chair and a side table. There is a smart 43" LED FHD Fire TV and SkyQ. Also a selection of books and games.
The adjoining kitchen (open plan) has a range of fitted cabinets, an oven/grill, microwave, kettle, toaster, Tassimo machine and under-counter fridge with top freezer compartment. The kitchen is equipped to cater for 4 guests.
In this open plan room there is a dining table with 2 dining chairs and a 2-seater bench.

Outside to the rear of the bungalow there is a little enclosed garden for your sole use, laid in plum slate chippings, with a pretty flowerbed within old sleepers to enjoy from the outdoor seating. Please note: the garden is accessed down the outside of the bungalow, and is immediately in front of the double bedroom window.
Outside the front of the property there is a decked area with a little bistro table and chairs.
