As we were blessed with good weather we didn’t use the lounge but it would have been a pleasant place to have spent a rainy couple of hours. It’s less than ten minutes walk up to the main road and bus route to Filey and Bridlington and a twenty minute walk to the heart of Scarborough itself. A very enjoyable few days. "

- "Orchard Lodge is a fantastic little gem. I couldn't recommend it more strongly. The location is perfect for exploring the area. The accommodation is excellent and the welcome perfect. The quality of the food in the Wolds Restaurant was exceptional and you would have to travel a long way to beat it. There is a real focus on local supply with everything being sourced within a small area where possible. This went as far as the bar as well. We had a fantastic Yorkshire wine and I highly recommend the Filey Gin. All in all a fantastic three days. "

The kitchen is very well equipped if you are cooking on your break however just over the garden wall is the Mayfield Hotel . We decided to treat ourselves to the carvery which was fantastic value and hit the spot . There is also a soft play in the hotel so the kids can have fun whilst you are dining. Backgarden is small but completely enclosed so if you have a dog with you it’s completely safe to potter out there . We enjoyed our stay so much we fully plan to book again in the summer .
