You need a car as there is no footpath on the road but it is only 20 minutes up the hill from Puerto Banus. We also did day trips to Ronda, Marbella and Malaga. We had the most wonderful stay at Casa Victoria with the setting and gardens making us never want to leave! We will hopefully be returning again in the future."

The property is superb and well presented and in a glorious spot in the hills of Istan, but only 10 mins to the beach and all other amenities, superb shops in Marbella Old Town and more restaurants and choice than we could have hoped for. San Pedro de Alcantara is also a lovely town 10 mins to the west of Marbella and Tarifa further along the coast has the best beaches. Istan further up the hill by 7-8 mins is a small town with 3 very good restaurants and genuine Andalucian hospitality. The property offered us comfort as well all the facilities we could need for our evenings spent after long sunny days on the beach with the dog, exploring the surrounds and coast line as well the inland areas, Ronda, Mijas and others. The garden which overlooks the Lake of Istan, like the house on its 2 levels offered fantastic views onto the protected Parque National Sierra de las Nieves. Paul and Jan Knight looked after us very well and were there instantly with answers to any questions we had. Casa del Lago was a wonderful place for our 7 week winter stay! Highly recommended! Exceptional 5 bedroom villa located in the hills of Nueva Andalucia, a short drive from Marbella and the beach, providing spectacular views of the Istan lake, surrounding mountains, and the sea! The main villa comprises of 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, and terrace spaces. Rental of the villa also includes access to a separate 1 bedroom ensuite ‘studio apartment’, which is complete with a living room and kitchenette. Puerto Banús with all of its restaurants, shopping, bars and beaches is a quick 15 minutes by car from the villa.
The master bedroom offers a king size bed (four poster bed), fantastic views through the south west facing windows of the sea, plenty of wardrobe space, and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. On this floor guests will also find; the fully equipped open plan kitchen, providing all the utensils and appliances expected of a luxury rental property, and breakfast island with seating for ; the spacious living room, complete with smart TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime); and 2 large terraces, one with alfresco dining area and coal and gas BBQ, and the second with more relaxed seating. The terraces wrap around the exterior of the villa, and provide absolutely stunning views from every angle.
