- "Villa Sara is a wonderfully positioned holiday home - right by the stunning coasline of South East Sicily. The property is really clean and comfortable and Giorgio communicates really well.He is very proud of fresh Sicilian food and generously provided us with supplies and treats that lasted all week. There is a local store nearby and a supermarket 3km away. We made use of the cycles and Giorgio provided helmets for us. There are several cycle routes in the area. We spent 8 days at Villa Sara and another 4 days at a guest house in Noto. We explored the stunning baroque towns, nature reserves (lots of flamingos) and the wonderful gorges inland. The spring weather was excellent for walking. There is lots of helpful information in the accomodation and Giorgio lives nearby so is easily able to deal with any issues that arise. Villa Modica is immersed in the picturesque Sicilian countryside, a short distance from the Baroque city of Modica. The focal point of the outdoor space is the large ( 6 x 12 meter) salt water, solar heated, swimming pool, terraced into the sloping landscape of the surrounding valley. The professional tennis court is also a place to enjoy a game of tennis with friends or family. After a day of sports or touring, you can relax in the hot tub jacuzzi which seats five people, and enjoy its panoramic view.

The Villa Space

As you enter the private parking area, you are greeted by the sight of characteristic stone pillars flanking a traditional gate. The warm colours of the sun-bleached dry stone walls give a sense of rustic elegance. Intricate details in the landscape and garden pay homage to the rich architectural and natural heritage of the land.

Walking through to the main entrance, you are welcomed into a spacious living room area which connects to a large, well-equipped, kitchen with dining area where the high ceiling is adorned with decorated stuccos, typical of Sicilian decor.

There are five elegantly appointed bedrooms each with air-condition and central heating, 2 rooms with king-sized beds and 3 rooms with 2 single beds each which can easily be joined together upon request, all with high quality mattresses. The bedrooms are large, with private baths, and an enclosed glass veranda offers panoramic views of the valley below. The rooms are designed for utmost comfort and privacy.

The spacious outdoor grounds are dotted with fruit trees, grape vines, and blackberry brambles. As well as the above mentioned pool and jacuzzi, next to the jacuzzi there is a Zen area with ancient stone walls, nestled into the grounds, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity.

- "I am going to find it difficult to actually give George's house the justice it deserves - it is extremely special. My family and I have stayed in many houses in Portugal, Greece and Italy and this was the most impressive for sure. There are just so many great things about it.. Here are some highlights: The swimming pool - perfect size with lots of space for lounging, the gardens - beautiful plants and trees with wonderful fruits and vegetables to eat, the tennis court - very well kept and rackets and balls available, the farmyard - lots of cute animals for the kids and the beds - all very comfortable and rooms very nice. My personal favourite part of the house is the outdoor area for eating, equipped with a BBQ and a wonderful view of Modica - we had some great and late nights there! This house is fabulous for kids and adults alike. Now a word on Modica itself, because it is a fantastic town. This was our second trip there and I was shocked when I opened the Sicily Lonely Planet and saw Modica wasn't one of their '14 highlights of Sicily'. Big mistake guys. But you know what maybe that's a good thing because Modica may stay off the tourist trail! Modica is a foodie's dream. I have had the best pasta, pizza, ice cream and chocolate of my life there. The chocolate is incomparable to anything you will taste in Europe. We went to some wonderful restaurants and bars. We did the train tour of the town which was a big hit with the kids. We wandered the incredibly narrow streets of Modica Allta which is like somewhere stuck in time - in a very charming way. I highly recommend checking out Goccia cocktail bar where we had an amazing night! Finally a word for our hosts, George and Antonella. We have never felt so looked after. From the first moment to the last, they did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay. We arrived to a home cooked meal, they were always there for any questions we had and they gave us some great recommendations for things to do. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I feel like we were living a dream of some kind."

- "We stayed as a family of 5 adults in August 2023 at Villa Timpazza - it is a great place. Set in large grounds, close (10 mins drive) to several shops, restaurants and towns such as Ispica and Modica, it is a great and luxurious place to stay in Sicily. The villa itself is on one level - 4 lovely bedrooms, and high spec bathrooms. Air conditioning throughout. There are several outside areas (balcony, breakfast area, garden room), but the star of the show is the pool area as you'll see on the photos. Infinity pool, stunning views, its own bathroom and a fully operational outdoor kitchen and bbq area. We spent much of our time there, and absolutely loved it. Communication with the owners, Antonella and William was brilliant. They helped us sort transport at short notice, gave us help and advice whenever we needed it - super responsive, friendly and knowledgable. We'd highly recommend it!"

Within the property there is a complex of recently renovated houses overlooking a large courtyard. 'Casa di Gianfranco' is a two-storey house that can accommodate two people: on the ground floor there is a small living room with a complete kitchen (including dishwasher), a bathroom with shower and a small laundry room with washing machine. - "We were two families and in total 8 persons staying in this property for a week in July. The pool was very clean and nice, and bigger than it looked like from the pictures. A big outdoor area with different seating groups we used a lot. The property manager provided good information ahead of arrival. The contact person Michelle we met at check-in was fantastic. Helped us immediately when we had questions during our stay. To make the stay even better, it would have been convenient with an extra set of keys. And some days we were bothered by many flies. But all in all we had a fantastic week in Modica! We would love to go back."
