Our Varenna Villa townhouse (VarennaVilla.com) comprises half a house which is located on the waterfront of Lake Como in the prized town of Varenna. The building, constructed in the early 1800's, has been converted into a modern townhouse.

It is very centrally located and there is a private gate entrance/exit to the passerella on the water. All the restaurants were a 5-10 min walk from the villa. The ferry was a 5 min walk. We spent hours on the terrace overlooking Lake Como. Most of the rooms have a view of the lake. There is only a washer (no dryer) and if it is cloudy and humid, items do not dry quickly outside. However, there is a drop off laundry service for $4.00/kg that we used instead. Highly recommend this property."

Small things to know: 1) Ristorante Hosteria Platano is a couple of minutes walk and was one of the best restaurants we found during our stay. Norma is the proprietor and very friendly and helpful. 2) Our parking was in a covered garage across the street so it was very convenient, 3) the beds were firm but we all thought they were quite comfortable. 4) it is a 20-25 minute walk to the ferry in Varenna but there is a parking garage across from Villa Monastero which allows for access to Varenna for those who don't want to walk as much."
