The air conditioning was greatly appreciated on a hot weekend" - "I don't normally write reviews, but this place was so bad we left after 1 night (and got charged for 3). - dripping overhang above the front door; you can't avoid it or step around - old building and the staircase up to the suite reeks - suite itself has 1 window, which has been painted over, plus an emergency fire escape door you're not supposed to use (we had to) - the smell is extremely strong, thanks to multiple glad plug-ins and scented detergent on the linens and towels. I had such a headache we only lasted one night, then went to the Ramada. This place is absolutely awful and when I complained, the reply I got was that they use standard cleaning supplies. I don't know whose standard they're using, but it's disgusting. Stay at the Ramada instead; no scent from the linens except a faint bleach odor, and they have this novel thing - windows that open!"

This was one of the first places that popped up on my search of places to stay and I'm so glad it was available! The Space:
What once served as the Rosebud Firehall, has now been converted into a stunning Guesthouse. Sleep where the fire truck used to park! The front of "the old firehall" is now home to "Kith & Kin Artisan Wares", a beautiful little gift shop, selling some local, Alberta made art, also unique gifts from around the world.
The kitchen has locally sourced live edge kitchen countertops, 36" gas range (with a griddle in the middle), a stainless french door fridge and a large farmhouse stainless steel sink. With 12' ceilings and windows spanning across the tops of the south and west walls, this cozy home boasts lots of natural light in the living area.
The bathroom offers a big, beautiful travertine shower, with a tempered glass wall and door, and a round copper bathroom sink, set into an oak wine barrel. The toilet is a toilet, nothing too special to report. It has a slow close lid, so that's cool.
The feature wall in the bedroom is built out of repurposed flooring samples, with a temurpedic foam mattress on the bed.

Recent updates include an HRV air ventilation system, replacing stale air in the guesthouse with fresh air.
Outside you'll find an enclosed private patio space with a roof shelter, outdoor sectional and wood stove. All the pleasures of a warm crackly fire, without the smoke. The Shell gas station in Drumheller sells bagged firewood for your convenience. There's also a BBQ you're welcome to use.

The Space:
Hidden under the Rosebud Windmill lies something all together new: discover the tree of life in Rosebud! The concrete tree in the middle of the suite extends over the entire ceiling connecting branches to an intricate root system. Sleep on a super comfy king bed under a real 600 year old floating slab of Douglas Fir. Little Douglas was a wee sapling while the Dark Ages were still a thing, and Joan of Arc started having her visions. He was around while Shakespeare penned Romeo and Juliet and Martin Luther nailed his theses to that door in Wittenberg.

The European Beech countertops sit on a small forest of trees and there you’ll find the tools you need to make your favourite breakfast. Roku TV, wifi, electric fireplace, and a terrarium built into the wall all add to the comforts of this cozy space.

On the other side of the terrarium you’ll find a three piece bathroom with a custom built, polished concrete shower and a private sun tunnel flooding natural light into the shower space. This octagonal shaped suite holds the essentials needed for your perfect short term stay.

Guest Access:
Please park in the free parking stall off the highway. You can gain access to your suite by following the sidewalk between the house and the windmill. Steps leading down to the suite are on your left hand side. There is no outside sitting area, however all things in Rosebud are close and we have a beautiful outdoor picnic shelter available to the public.

The space
This 1,750 sq. ft. property has been completely renovated with no shortage of high-end finishes, luxurious design and luscious furnishings. The building was built in 1900 and it is one of the iconic buildings in the history of Drumheller. It was previously used as a bank, and some characters were kept in order to create that unique vibe.

The Loft is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Drumheller, and just a short walk to the Big Dinosaur, Splash Park, Red Deer River, and the
Aquaplex with outdoor pool. Unit is located on the second floor, and accessible only by stairs.


Upon entering the property you will be impressed by the open concept living that will provide plenty of space for you and your loved ones to entertain. Our gourmet kitchen is equipped with top of the line appliances, and integrated fridge and dishwasher for a clean and modern look. The dining space will cater from your most refined dinner setting to your everyday luxury living. A modern coffee station and beverage center will ensure that your drinks stay fresh and cold throughout your stay. You can cozy up by the mist fireplace in the spacious living room and have a one of a kind movie experience on a 75-inch TV and high-quality sound system.

The 2 spa-like washrooms and the 3 large bedrooms are conveniently located on the quiet quarters of this property. One bedroom features double sized bunk beds that will excite all the kids. This property has two main large bedrooms with queen sized beds, electric fireplaces and 50-inch TVs. These bedrooms provide a lush, cozy and luxurious vibe as well as a perfect view to the town's Christmas tree in the winter and Canada Day parade in the summer. The large washroom features double vanity with a walk in spa-like tub and rain shower combo that will provide tranquility and relaxation throughout your stay. The same aesthetic are carried through the smaller washroom as well.

The private deck with beautiful views will bring the guests together around the firepit.

Guest access
The first level of the building features Lois + Ani Bubble Tea Shop and Boutique. For convenience, the guest may access the first floor during business hours if they wish to purchase refreshments, snacks, specialty bubble teas and coffee or to pick up a few local gifts to bring home.

The second floor of the building features The Loft with separate entrance and soundproofed walls that divides the 2 levels. Please note this property is not wheelchair accessible.

Other things to note
Guests’ satisfaction is our top priority and commitment! Therefore, we may include in your stay (for an additional fee) a private special dinner with our inhouse caterer:

1. A private catered dinner which includes a starter, a main dish with 2 sides, and the desert of the day. At the time of booking our guests will be able to choose their dinner from the options provided by our professional caterer.

2. A Mexican fiesta dinner event with an impressive taco bar just for you. This is perfect for friend’s gatherings, bachelorette parties, or for a girl’s weekend getaway.

3. An ‘al fresco’ Italian dinner event where you will experience a fresh pasta making session in your private space. This type of dinner is perfect for your Christmas or Thanksgiving gatherings, birthday celebrations, or a romantic getaway.

4. A pizza-vaganza themed dinner event for all the pizza lovers. Our private caterer will bring the freshly made dough and all the toppings you need to create a perfect pizza. This dinner makes a perfect activity for families with kids of all ages.

5. A seasonal charcuterie work shop just for your private group. ‘Tis the season, whether is Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day or any other day, we have a charcuterie board for it. During this workshop you will learn the secrets of preparing the most amazing charcuterie boards, which you will get to enjoy with your group. This workshop creates the perfect setting for a ladies getaway or a fun activity during your stay.

The above dinner options will be provided for a maximum of 8 people (including children). Dinner can be customized for a larger group for an additional cost. Please note that drinks are not included with the dinner, but you are welcome to bring your favorite drinks to pair with your dinner. IMPORTANT NOTICE: A minimum of 10 days is required between the time of booking and the date of the dinner. This timeline will allow us to prepare for a successful dinner event. Dinner package is subject to caterer's availability.
