Comfortable 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment, for 1 to 4 adults (children welcome) with a queen bed and futon couch (Pack n Play available). The flat is in the basement of a home (quiet, single occupant). The ceilings are low (81'; one crossbeam descends 5-1/2') and, while there are plenty of windows, the apartment gets natural light mainly in the mornings. The apartment has its own entrance and an outdoor table and chairs.

Guests are asked to book a minimum of 2 nights and to only bring the number of guests agreed upon. Monthly rentals are welcome. A pet is possible, if quiet and well behaved and pre-approved by me (pet deposit required). Your pet may not be left alone in the apartment due to previous damages by pets. When applying please tell me something about yourself and your general purpose in coming to the area, especially if you have no personal profile posted.

This is a fabulous location in the heart of an old Victorian gold-mining town that makes a car unnecessary for most your needs.

The Love Suite is an adorable 350 sf studio with queen bed, satellite TV, internet, brand new kitchenette fully stocked with dishes and utilities, new bathroom with shower, spilt unit heating and air. One block form Main Street, Walk to everything. One block to Center for the Arts. Adorable small space right in the heart of downtown Grass Valley. A great hide-away or romantic get-a-way. We have a community washer and dryer, and a private fenced in yard.

It also has a small yard. There is NO Oven or dishwasher. There is however a 2 burner stove top and refrigerator, fully stocked with dishes and utensils, toaster, coffee pot, crock pot.

This beautiful 150-year-old Historic Victorian called The Hatfield House is located downtown Nevada City 1/2 block away from restaurants, bars, theatre, shopping & all the activities Nevada City has to offer. It is attached to my Day Spa, Salon & Boutique called Body Essence which a 10% discount is available for spa services for those who book the suite. It is a private unit with a Jack & Jill bathroom between the rooms with a small kitchenette & a porch.
The unit has 1 queen bed & the extra room has a sleeper sofa which I add an extra foam mattress to for extra comfort.
The rooms have a private entrance & share a bathroom.
I send out the door code & check-in information by 3 pm on the day of arrival.
Guests have access to the backyard & front yard. There is only street parking available and generally a spot next to the unit.

You'll love this industrial modern 1 BR apartment sleeps 2-4. With a loft-style large open floor plan, huge chef's kitchen with massive island and counter seating for 8 there’s plenty of room to spread out and relax. The cushy living room space has a large screen TV and leather sectional. The cook's kitchen has a granite island which seats 8, all high-end KitchenAide appliances and laundry in unit.

I don’t know how it would be any other time of the year but even in the back yard (which is lovely and inviting with a small hot tub and hanging lights), there’s a creek that drowns out the sound of any cars. Would definitely stay at Paul’s place again on our next visit."

Modern designer build with high-end custom materials and finishes throughout. This cozy studio-style space has a cushy queen bed, with luxury linens, down comforter and fluffy pillows. There is a large TV on the wall across from the bed. At the end of a full day of exploring/shopping/dining, kick off your shoes, heat up the left-overs and lounge in bed watching your favorite shows on Netflix.

The space
The Diggins is a separate dwelling unit on a 2 acre property where full time residents live in the main house. The property has 5 different species of oak trees, mature gardens and plenty of parking. The dwelling, designed by the resident who is a longtime architectural designer, boasts curved walls, natural light, a great room with a wall of windows that can be shuttered for privacy and a patio with dining and seating areas with a gas fire pit to enjoy the wonderful weather and all the seasons. The Diggins is equipped with Wi-Fi, a smart TV and a desk for those who need to work while they are visiting. Also includes washer/dryer, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, full kitchen including a dishwasher. A great place for a writer's retreat or if you are in town for one of our many film and music festivals too. Only one hour to skiing, 5 minutes from downtown Nevada City and 20 minutes to the Yuba river, the property also has access to a public walking and mountain bike trails.

Guest access
Guests will have private access to the two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with parking in front of the dwelling. The pool and hot tub are not available to guests. We also have a 1971 red VW bus with a double bed that can be parked in front for another single bedroom and a custom designed trailer with a queen size bed. Other things to note
This is our family home and while we are now mostly empty nesters, friends and family do come and go. If you want total privacy or to be secluded in the forest, this is not the place for you. If you want to be close to town, appreciate contemporary architecture and art and modern accessories and want to hear more about the community and places to eat, shop, walk, hike, ride or see a show, we are your perfect hosts!

- "My family and I booked this last minute B&B for Thanksgiving weekend" - "Getting here was a bit confusing, the listing should definitely mention that it’s actually past the “end” sign on the road. I was disappointed to find out that despite being told by the Evolve team that the owner was in a “completely separate unit” they were definitely attached, the owner is right downstairs, you are renting the top half of this split level home. However, the owner was nice through texting communications and did not disturb us in person. There were multiple cars in the driveway which was daunting at first sight, but it appears they were all his. While everything important was clean it was a bit bizarre to see random stuff in the drawers and cabinets that gave this unit the feel of not being completely mucked out before being put on the market, but by no means was this unmanageable, just strange. The most disappointing thing by far is we were given no heads up about the oven not working, and since we had planned out several meals in advance this totally threw us for a loop & unfortunately meant we wasted time and money on groceries for the week. We ended up having to eat a few meals out which was not our intention and bummed us out a lot. This location had incredible views. The hot tub was brilliant and we were thrilled to find it was set to 103 (most rentals I have stayed at leave it much lower so this was appreciated upon arrival and we hopped right in) The home was cute overall and was nice for a little getaway."

- "This 39 acres is so delightful to explore. Everyday we would experience a morning walk to a pond and then further on to a lovely walk in the woods with the sound of the running creek. Our first evening there we got to see out the window a deer and rabbits enjoying their evening meal. This is one of the most restful places we have ever stayed. If you want a place to stay that will build a fun memory this property is it." - "Studio itself was very clean and the main area was spacious for the three of us and our grehyhound. The main floor had a daybed, with a hide-away for another person. The loft had one bed for two. There is not much height in the loft so you do have to crouch to get into bed. It was fine for our purpose. The ladder/stairs to get up were a bit narrow at the top but they felt pretty sturdy and safe. The 1/2 bath is located just outside the door, approx 10ft away for our use only. Not a big deal for us. It is a bit tight but we were able to do what we needed. The seat warmer was nice especially since we went during colder, rainy weather. There is a communal shower that you have to walk down to. We had to buy shower shoes when we realized that. We also had to make another run into town to buy towels, coffee cups and dish soap. The towels weren't made available for at least 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. There was a mini-fridge, coffee maker, electric water kettle, toaster, toaster oven, electric one-burner. As a very esthetically pleasing studio, being surrounded by trees, I would say it's better than tent camping as you are protected from the elements, cooking is a bit challenging on one burner and washing the dishes outside. We had a knife with us so that saved us. We really liked the proximity to hiking trails. The nearest stores and restaurants are within 6 miles "

The kitchenette in the room has a small microwave, mini fridge, bowls, cups, napkins, and utensils. There are also a lot of nice restaurants in the area (plus Door Dash). There is a code to enter the front door of the home. Cleanliness is very important to us, so the room and bathroom are professionally cleaned after each and every use. The bed linens, blankets, towels, and bath mat are washed and replaced after every single guest, no exceptions.

This is a large, upstairs, private room in a 2 story, tree lined 1890 Victorian with a private ½ bath and access to master shower. It has it's own private balcony. It’s located within a short walking distance to downtown Grass Valley which offers many great restaurants, wine tasting, a movie theater, center for the arts and many other entertainment options. Not to mention the Yuba River, 1/2 hour away. Only a couple of miles from the fairgrounds, this is a great place for concert goers.

The Atomic Lounge is a cozy fully equipped upstairs apartment with that mid-century flare. We are located just one block away from our vibrant historical downtown district and a comfortable walk to the beautiful Nevada County fairgrounds.

The space
This home was built on the original 1872 Townsite of Grass Valley and one block over from the corner of Main St and Mill St. Being one of the first rows of residential streets in the city, you are literally steps way from all the trappings our wonderfully little city has to offer. Several local wineries are located downtown. You can make it an evening hopping from one tasting room to another without any care. Also located downtown is a nice selection of gastronomical cuisines to choose from and world class entertainment can be had at “The Center for the Arts”. And, don’t forget there is plenty shopping to be had as well. Located just a few miles away, is the county seat, Nevada City. This also has a bustling gold rush era downtown.
If you are looking for some outdoor adventures, there are plenty to choose from as well.
In addition, we are able to offer spacious and safe off street parking. Gourmet coffee, WiFi and cable TV are also included.

PLEASE NOTE: This house was built in 1870 and does have a few things I would like to point out.

1. There are 15 stairs that lead up to the apartment. This can be a tough journey for some individuals.

2. Not suitable for small children due to stairs and low windows.

The Gold City Getaway apartment is approximately 400 sq feet of space with central heat and A/C. We provide bed linens, a queen bed and duvet, towels, body wash, and shampoo and conditioner. Kitchenette, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and pods, a variety of caffeinated and herbal teas, eco disposable dishes, mini fridge, hair dryer, and Wifi. Please note the location in the description as we are in town and very close to the business district. As such you may experience some light noise in the early evening.

The space
The apartment is located in the upper suite of a 1930s home. The suite has been recently remodeled to include a fully stocked kitchen with toaster oven, microwave, mini fridge/freezer, and stove.

The property is unsuitable for children due to 3rd story windows without window guards.

The kitchen door leads to a beautiful outdoor sitting area with two comfortable chairs and a shade umbrella. The view of the Sierra Foothills is stunning. This is a perfect spot to watch the sun rise, or gaze at the stars.

The bedroom is spacious, clean, light, and inviting. Boasting nine windows, the space offers sweeping views, and plenty of light. However, if you need a darker space for sleeping, there are blackout blinds.

The bathroom has a deep jacuzzi tub with jets, and a large walk-in tiled shower.

There is is plenty of extra cabinet space for storage, and lots of thoughtful amenities to make your stay easeful.

One of the best things about this home, is your access to town and nature. A 5 minute walk will take you to historic downtown Nevada City full of cute cafes, shops, restaurants, and breweries.

Similarly, a 5 minute drive will take you to historic Grass Valley.

A 15 minute walk (or 3 minute drive) takes you to the entry point for nature walks along the Tribute Trail and Deer Creek. Head down here for a unique experience walking over an suspension bridge spanning the creek.

If you're ready to explore further afield, the iconic Yuba river has many swimming and hiking spots that are only a 15-20 minute drive from town.

There are also many Gold Rush Era sites and museums. Some favorites are the covered bridge at Bridgeport, Empire Mine, and the North Star Mine Museum.

From the apartment, you can also enjoy day trips up to Lake Tahoe, Sierra Hot Springs, the historic mining town of Downieville, and many alpine hikes and lakes. As a lifelong naturalist and nature enthusiast, I'm happy to share suggested hikes, drives, and locations to help you enjoy all this area has to offer.

We live on the property in the main house. The guesthouse is a separate structure from the main house, above a separate garage.

Guests are welcome to explore the property. We have a chicken coop and chickens as well as a large garden on the opposite side of the property. We look forward to sharing farm fresh produce with our guests! We have an herb garden, lots of seasonal veggies, we also have grapes and berries in our vineyard area, and fruit trees-peach, cherry and apple.

There is a more private yard for guests and their pets - the area around our guest driveway. This yard is not fully fenced and the property is not fully fenced.

We have a workout space (also with a view) in our main garage (attached to the main house) with treadmill, stationary bike, full weight bench system, some small hand weights and yoga mat. Available upon request.

We also have a basketball hoop in the driveway. Ball(s) available upon request.

NEW No Cat Guests- we recently hosted our first cat guest and discovered we are allergic. Apologies to the cat parents- we can no longer host cats. 😿

Pets - We are pet friendly, but please let us know in your reservation of pets coming.

Power outages - Sometimes the power goes out. We have no control over this and we will do our best to keep things running.

Our internet - We believe is the best available in our rural area. We have Starlink and rarely experience interruptions in service. We are able to use this service to stream TV shows, take video calls, and more without any issues (for the most part).

Located in the heart of historic downtown Nevada City, the upstairs 2nd floor apartment has large windows, lots of light, and even more character! This sunny getaway has a living room that overlooks the main street of town, one bedroom with a queen bed, a separate study with writing desk, a kitchen, dining area, and more. It is literally a step away from restaurants, shops, galleries, activities, events, and the nightlife on Broad Street.

The Living Room:

The Bedroom:
The light and airy bedroom features a queen size bed with oversized window facing the Two Room Inn and the historic Methodist Church. In winter and spring, you can look outside and see the town lit up with lights!

Bathroom:
The recently renovated bathroom is stocked with essential amenities and has a shower over a tub, perfect for a relaxing soak!

The Kitchen & Dining Area:
Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and plan your day. The kitchen is minimally stocked (water bottles, coffee, tea, and oatmeal) and includes a microwave, refrigerator and oven.

Second Bedroom: There is a cozy study with it's own door, closet, and large window that includes a writing desk and small couch for relaxing and reading a read book.

Laundry Room: Equipped with a full washer and dryer with laundry detergent for you to stay clean and comfortable.

Entry: The main door to the building leads to an entry area and a single flight of stairs that leads to the 2nd floor apartment.

There is a back door from the kitchen that leads to a deck and a flight of stairs in case of fire. This should only be used in case of an emergency.

The back deck connects with a neighboring unit and is NOT included as part of this rental.

This one bedroom apartment is in a Victorian house in downtown Nevada City. The apartment has a deck that faces a wooded area and a creek yet is walking distance, two blocks over the Pine St. bridge to town. This house is also on the Tribute Trail, which takes you into the woods, over a suspension bridge and into town. Beautiful short hike.
