- "Amazing place to stay very clean and beautiful " - "We had the most gorgeous stay at this apartment. It was extremely clean, well equipped and the perfect location. Close to shops (Lidl, Asda etc) and a short drive from beaches and the train station for St Ives. Five of us stayed comfortably here and the host was excellent with communication for any queries we had. We only had slight issues with parking as the road is so narrow and were worried about blocking paths, but most residential streets are like that in this area. We would love to come back!"

- "We had a wonderful time at Cowslip cabin , the property was well maintained and the photos didn’t do it justice as the property was larger than what we were expecting . The garden was perfect for little humans to run around on and release some energy . Pete the host was very responsive to our queries . Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday" - "The holiday flat (Cowslip) which was our home for 2 weeks was a super little flat, very clean on our arrival with everything one needs. As described in a prior preview, we also received a nice little "goodie" basket. There is enough storage room to pack shopping away etc and plenty of fridge space. The bedroom cupboard had enough shelf and hanging space for all our clothes. As someone else wrote that the bedroom is a little dark, but didn't bother us. The fire alarms in both holiday flats are interconnected with one another so one is safe should a fire break out in either flat. The washing room was right next to our flat which was most convenient. There is also a washing basket with pegs for each flat to use. We locked our bikes to the fence infront of our flat, probably not necessary because the place is very safe. There is a huge lawn infront of the flats, so plenty of run around space for the kids. A reminder to all visitors that it is a non smoking area on the entire premises, we didn't read the fine print, but Peter and Carolyn allowed us to smoke once we asked. The only negative point, well 2 actually, is the distant noise from the highway situated about 500m away, it is not that loud, but is mostly there, depending on wind direction. The other is the Gas cannons that go off in the fields to scare birds, sounds like someone wacking a carpet with a broom stick. That is a little disturbing but one gets used to it, not Peter nor Carolyns fault. We had a great time and super chats with Peter who also gave us stacks of tips on what to see, where to eat, pubs to visit etc and much more. Thankyou both very much and we look forward to staying again."

This ground floor two bedroom suite looks straight out onto our garden, making a barbecue after a great day on the beach an absolute must. Perfect for families or for two couples holidaying together, this apartment has one double bedroom with an en suite shower-room, as well as a second bedroom with both double and single beds. There is a second shared bathroom. The living area has plenty of space to kick around in, and one of the most comfy sofas we know, so whether you prefer to watch a DVD or listen to the owls in the garden at dusk, you'll have everything you need.
- "Lovely property, very cosy, very friendly owners do anything for you" - "We had a great holiday staying in Gwithian. The beach was a short walk and manageable even loaded up with bags/buckets/wetsuits etc. The accommodation was fantastic, bigger than i expected and a lovely outdoor space. Tyson the manager responded quickly to any questions and requests (extra wine glasses) and made sure we had everything we needed. Didn't use the surf hire in the end but again really easy to sort out. I would recommend booking early for the pub in the village. We shopped at lidl which was only a short drive away. Overall highly recommend the accommodation and location, excellent."

- "This property was nice, however it definitely has cleanliness issues. There was thick dust on top of the bedside lamps along with many other places and it was obvious the property has not been properly cleaned in some time. Apart from this the property was nice, stylish and spacious. It would have been great if they had left us a couple of dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher and a few orher bits." - "Place nice clean and tidy will use again if we decided to go to Cornwall again?"

Relax and inhale the sea air from a spacious, open-plan apartment with panoramic views over the iconic Godrevy Lighthouse and St. Ives Bay. In summer enjoy a glass of fizz on the balcony as the sun sets over the sea; in winter come and watch the waves crash over Godrevy island.
Tucked away on the coast in a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, only ½ mile from Gwithian surf beach and with St. Ives just across the bay, enjoy peace and tranquility in the heart of the Cornish countryside.
This apartment has been reimagined from the annexe in my family home, spread over 1 ½ floors with its own private entrance and generous balcony space.
The light, airy and modern space consists of an open-plan, boho-inspired bedroom, cosy lounge and fully-equipped kitchen spacious enough to cook up a romantic meal together.
French doors open straight onto the balcony complete with patio furniture to enjoy the sea views from with a glass of wine. If this isn't entertainment enough, you'll find a Smart TV with Netflix, a Bluetooth sound system, WiFi and a selection of Cornish books to leaf through.
For cosying up in the evening there's warm lighting, extra throws and blackout blinds, or for early risers there's ample room in this minimalist space to practice yoga or get creative as the sunlight streams in through your windows.
Downstairs you'll find a generously-sized bathroom with walk-in shower, vanity unit with his & hers sinks (or hers and hers, or his and his) and a separate toilet.
The property features keyless entry and there is ample parking on the driveway outside which is down a lane off the main road. Help yourself to some herbs from our Mediterranean herb garden on your way in.
- "I can’t say enough good things about this lovely studio in Gwithian. The owners had thought of everything you might need, even a beach bag which I had forgotten, and the quality and cleanliness of everything was exceptional. The balcony has a gorgeous view of the sea and the location is fantastic just a few minutes drive to the beach or walking distance if you wanted to. We loved our stay and will be back." - "We stayed for 14 days. The apartment felt like a home from the beginning. Everything you need is there, even plants to make it cosy and a fully equipped kitchen. The view to the sea is stunning. We saw fantastic sunsets. It is a really good starting point for everything you want to visit in Cornwall. Lucy is a fantastic host and answered all our questions immediately."

- "Excellent place ,Beautiful locations and Hayle is best place to stay in Cornwall" - "We were so looking forward to our stay in Hayle I feel terrible writing this because the location is stunning but there are a few things that really need looking at in the accommodation It’s really dated the hob and oven are really not nice to use both are filthy not even the glass on the front of the oven was clean it’s very dated and needs replacing also the work top is lifting and is an absolute germ trap the floor was definitely not clean I cleaned all the surfaces and floor before we unpacked it’s such a shame because with this comes a very musty smell for somewhere that should have just received a covid clean The worst thing for us was the bed it’s terrible very uncomfortable and quite frankly barely fit for purpose as it is literally held together with blocks of wood with the feeling that it could break at any point because of all this we cut our trip by two days purely through lack of sleep and comfort i hate having to say these things but feel it definitely needs to be mentioned"

- "The property was tidy and as advertised. The office were really helpful with our directions, and when we called for help they returned our call immediately even though it said the office was closed. We could have done with a few more hand towels, but we didn't ring to request any so can't fault them for this. Highly recommend this holiday park, and Tom's holidays managed our holiday really well. A message from the owners
We hope you love your holidays at Sea Urchin as much as we have over the years. Enjoy watching the kite surfers on the river, seeing the fishing boats head out to sea and counting the carriages on the branch line train to St Ives!
We modernised and renovated the chalet in early 2020, and have enjoyed kitting it out for holiday accommodation. Please note, the property does not allow pets but is not strictly 'pet-free' (as very occasionally we bring our dog to visit).

For those seeking surf, beginners to experienced surfers and bodyboarders can enjoy doorstep breaks at Hayle Rivermouth and Mexico Towans, both within walking distance of the park. Paddle boarding and kayaking on the Estuary, as well as kitesurfing and windsurfing are popular all year round.
Hayle is home to the RSPB Hayle Estuary Reserve, Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Hayle Lido, ice cream parlours, gift shops, great food (including Cornwall's best Pasties from Philps), pubs and supermarkets.

The Museum offers peaceful self-contained accommodation in the heart of Gwithian Village.
Tucked between the church and pub, it's a 10 minute walk to the South West Coastal Path, and three miles of sea and sand between Godrevy and Hayle.
We offer twin beds or a double bed (let us know when you book), sitting area, kitchen, small dining table, shower bathroom and free off-road parking for one car.
With wifi, books and games we hope you'll be comfortable and happy at this special spot.
The space
The Museum is a ground floor single story building set back from the bustle of the village, with so much to see, do (and eat!) in walking distance.
Built as a private museum by a local archaeologist in the 1960s, it has been beautifully renovated in the last few years to provide a special refuge, with the sounds of rustling trees, a stream and hooting owls to lull you to sleep.
It’s perfect for you if:
-you are walking around the South West Coastal Footpath
-you are a sea fiend and are longing to get surfing / swimming / diving / all the watery pursuits
-you are coming to Cornwall to explore our incredible art galleries and museums, or perhaps here for a creative course at St Ives Art School of Painting, Newlyn School of Art or The Leach Pottery
-you are a digital nomad and need somewhere peaceful to think and work
-you want to immerse yourself in the beautiful nature of this corner of Cornwall.
Gwithian is extraordinarily full of opportunity for adventure and rest: more details in our Welcome Pack.
-Gwithian is in a designated ANOB (Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty) with public nature reserves close by including St Gothian's Sands and Gwithian Towans. With SSSI Status (Site of Special Scientific Interest) the towans are full of flora, fauna, insects including the rare blue butterfuly, and birds.
-In addition to the South West Coastal Footpath which is 10 minutes away, there are a number of local walks which take you along the coast, around the dunes and the headland by Godrevy Lighthouse. For much of the year the seal colony is at Mutton Cove. We have binoculars to borrow if you want to spot the gorgeous pups.
-There are two surf schools here for all ages and levels. You can also hire out boards (surf, body, kayak, SUP) and all the kit.
-There are horse riding schools close by for a rural trek or a gallop along the beach.
-You can hire an e-bike with maps for rides near and far.
-There is evidence of human occupation here going back millenia, and a trove of archaeology and history to discover. We have books and information to help you explore.
OR just grab a beach towel and blanket and go and lie on the sand with a good book! We have lots to choose from.
We have a fantastic range of cafes and restaurants all in walking distance here. These are just some of them . .
- Next door is The Red River Inn, a beloved local pub which does great local beer and excellent food. In May and September they have a weekend festival with live music which you can hear from The Museum - it finishes by 11, and best just to join in! Check their website for dates.
-The two campsites in the village have small basic shops, and both do pop up food stalls in the summer at the weekends.
-Lula Restaurant / Shack is open day time and evening and has a lovely Mediterranean vibe.
-The Jam Post cafe is a local institution, cream tea with a view of the sea.
-The Gwithian Beach National Trust car park has a great cafe open during the day.
- Sallie's Vintage Ice Cream Van is our favourite, in the car park by the lighthouse - a perfect 20 minute walk from The Museum.
Guest access
Guests have sole private use of The Museum.
Access is through the family garden, which we are currently giving a bit of an overhaul - apologies it might look a bit scruffy ! We are sorry that we cannot offer guests the use of the garden at this time, but luckily the beach and nature reserves are steps away.
Enter through the garden gate at the back, and walk up the (uneven) stone path to the first stable door into The Museum.
We have two very friendly dogs. They may be in the garden when you arrive and leave. If you are worried about dogs, come to the front door and we will make sure they are not in the garden when you are walking through.
PLEASE make sure that you don't let the dogs out of the garden, and always close the gates carefully after you.
Other things to note
PHONES
There is very patchy reception for most service providers in the village, so you will need to connect to the wifi which is set up in The Museum in order to use your phone.
WIFI
At the moment the WiFi connection is from the house and is also a bit patchy through the granite walls! It works best if you are by one of the windows inside the museum. You have books, games and a radio to keep you entertained so maybe embrace the digital detox!
BREAKFAST
We can offer you the following breakfast package for you to cook. We hope this is helpful if you arrive on foot or too late for shops. Please make sure to let us know when you book if you would like this, and on how many days.
Breakfast £20 for two or £15 for one
~ all from local suppliers -
free range organic eggs
Bacon
Mushrooms
Bread
Butter
Marmalade and Jam
Tomatoes
TOWELS
We provide bath towels and and beach towels, and beach blankets to borrow for lazy days.
DOGS
We have two dogs who are very friendly, but they do bark sometimes (as dogs do!). We will try our best to make them not bark during the quiet hours of 10pm and 8 am. PLEASE make sure that the gates are closed after you and that the dogs can't run out to the busy road.
