Our beautiful two bedroom apartment is a perfect place for people to enjoy while visiting all the sites of iconic Wabasha and its surrounding areas. Just 1/2 block from the National Eagle center it makes for a perfect getaway from city life. The space boasts two bedrooms (king and queen sized beds), a kitchen and living room all on the same floor you will have the space and appliances needed to make your visit to Wabasha unforgettable! All appliances, beds (tuft and needle), couches, TV etc are brand new and ready to be enjoyed. The kitchen comes fully stocked with all your cooking needs as well as a coffee machine + french press and griddle for those leisurely mornings in! With two full sized rooms it makes a great location for a romantic weekend away, a great space for friends or a perfect location for a family. The apartment also come equipped with a new smart TV and cable access. You are able to easily eagle watch on the deck, where you a have a great view of the Mississippi River, or from most of the apartment windows.

Since this apartment is located on the top floor, the entrance is on the left of the house up one flight of stairs.

We loved the location, being a block from the river and right off Main Street with access to all the shops and restaurants. Note: We did find it odd that there was not one hook or rack in the bathroom so where do you put your washcloths, hand towels, etc. after using? We had to improvise and use door handles and the shower door. Seems a few hooks and/or towel rack are in order."

This room is a part of the Sunset Motel located directly across from Lake Pepin in Lake City, MN. The hotel consists of traditional single and double motel rooms, a 3 bedroom house, and 2-3 bedroom condo units. All of the units have shared access to our heated in-ground pool. All rooms have recently been equipped with electronic locks for a seamless check-in process. We are centrally located near some of the area's best attractions including public beach access, top restaurants, golf courses, and marinas.

The 2 upstairs bedrooms are tastefully decorated and relaxing after a long day celebrating a wedding, playing golf, exploring nearby wineries or enjoying a fun-filled day at the Lake City Marina and beach.

In addition to the calming bedrooms and living room, there's a full kitchen if you'd like to cook on site, including a full compliment of pots, pans, bakeware, dishes, silverware, etc. We do provide dish soap, spices, oil and a small selection of tea. Bring your own coffee supplies, food, beverages, firewood, sunblock and mosquito repellant. Marigold has plenty of off-street parking for vehicles and boats, though the parking lot is shared with Snowdrop Apartment downstairs. If you have a large group and would like to book parallel accommodations, you can reserve each apartment separately or together as Blue Iris House. If you have a particularly large group and 5 bedrooms isn't quite enough, please let us know - we have another home just three blocks away in Lake City and also have more rentals across the lake in Pepin, WI that can accommodate very large groups.

We walked all over Lake City and the weather was wonderful even though it rained on our way out. A/C worked perfectly, beds were very comfy. It was myself, my 15 year old son and his friend. We did a day of fishing with a guide on Lake Pepin and caught a trophy walleye on top of hitting our limit. We bowled at the small bowling alley in town and hit the farmers market and grocery store. Had breakfast at Heidi's Hugamug - yum! We also hit the MN Zoo - it was just okay. :) Thanks for being great hosts! Would stay again!"

The space
This is a small 1BR apartment best-suited for 1-2 adult guests. (We list max occupancy as 4 primarily in order to accommodate a small family of 2 adults and 2 younger children.)

There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living room.

Our apartment is a roomy and open private apartment in a corner lot triplex. The apartment has a lot of windows to allow plenty of natural light.

You will have the whole apartment to yourself, but there are other tenants in the building. The only shared space is the building's front door and entryway, which is shared with the apartment upstairs. Guests are welcome to enjoy the front porch and the yard.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

HOSTS NOT ON SITE: We do not live on site. Both of the other apartments in the building are occupied by other long-term tenants.

SHARED BUILDING/NOISE FROM OTHER TENANTS: The AirBNB apartment is the lower unit in a triplex, so there will be noise from the other tenants. It may be more noticeable if you are not used to living in a building with other apartments/tenants.

One of the other apartments is around the side/back of the main part of the building. That is a separate apt occupied by tenants and is not part of the AirBNB.

The building is also near downtown on a main street, so there will be noise from traffic. Being from Minneapolis, we don't notice the noise from traffic, but others might.

SECOND BED: The second "bed" in the apartment is a pull-out located in the living room.

BATHROOM: The only bathroom is inside the bedroom. It is only accessible through the bedroom.

AIR CONDITIONING: The air conditioning is a window unit in the living room. There is NO central air. However, there are ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom and a stand-up fan in the living room that can help blow the cooler air from the air conditioner in the living room into the bedroom. Also, you are welcome to turn off the air conditioning and open the windows for fresh air instead, as the nights can be cool and fresh in Minnesota.

Other things to note
Red Wing offers easy access to a lot of outdoor activities. The Cannon Valley Trail (paved bike trail) starts in Red Wings and runs to Cannon Falls. There's also local mountain biking trails, hiking at Barn Bluff, and river access (including fishing). Close to Welch for skiing and mountain biking. If you're not the outdoors type, Red Wing has a lot to offer in terms of local shopping, restaurants and art, as well as local festivals.

Kitchen currently stocked with toaster, coffee pot, coffee mugs, plates, bowls, drinking glasses, a large skillet, a large stockpot, a standard-size saucepan, two rectangular casserole/baking dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils. There is oil and salt and pepper but no other cooking ingredients.

The City of Red Wing requires the collection of a 3% city lodging tax that is paid to the Visitor Convention Bureau. This tax is charged and paid at booking as it is included in the nightly rate.

Entire apartment is simply charming! Spacious deck. When we purchased this building, no one had lived up above in this apartment for nearly 40 years. We enjoyed fixing it up while maintaining that historic charm. In August of 2022 we were able to start renting it.

.Friday nights in the summer at 7pm there are concerts under the bridge in Wabasha. That is only a quick two block walk across the street and down from our apartment. It's a great time to be in Wabasha. Plus, food trucks are usually there prior to the performance.

The property was built in 1900 and is located in the Red Wing Historical district. The "Yellow Door" which is what it is lovingly called has been completely updated in the fall of 2022.

You are greeted by an open porch where you can sit and enjoy the nights, or have conversations while someone is grilling the meal for the night.

The property is a duplex which has two units- the upstairs people have their own back stairway and do not have access to the front porch or the lower level laundry. You have use to the full main level and lower level and porch. Each bedroom has 1 queen bed.

You will have access to the lower level where there is a washer and dryer. The steps are a bit steep, use caution if you're not used to steeper steps.

There are 2 queen size beds in the unit. Each bedroom has its own queen bed.

You have access to the main level apartment and the front porch. You also have use of the laundry in the lower level.


The property is a duplex-- the upstairs unit has their own private entry thru the back stairway. The upstairs unit does not use the front porch or the lower level laundry.

Fire Lily Apartment has 4 off-street parking spots for vehicles, though the parking lot is shared with Jasmine Apartment downstairs. If you have a large group and would like to book parallel accommodations, you can reserve each apartment separately or together as Red Hibiscus House. If you have a particularly large group and 5 beds isn't quite enough, please let us know - we have another home just three blocks away in Lake City and also have more rentals across the lake in Pepin, WI that can accommodate very large groups.
