2) Smoking of any kind is not allowed, including on balconies and in shared spaces. Smoking violations are subject to a $500 fine plus the cost to clean, deodorize, and repair damages. Our building is monitored with tobacco and smoke detectors.

3) This apt is located in a quiet luxury complex, so we have strict quiet hours from 10 PM - 8 AM. To ensure the comfort of our guests, this apartment is equipped with NoiseAware decibel detectors - if you have any questions, please let us know.

This is a room with a twin size bed on the second floor of a 2 family house located on the hearth of Magoun Square, in Somerville. Fisk Ave is a tiny street, with low traffic and is very quiet. The house is located right behind CVS drugstore and Dunkin Donuts. At the corner you will find a Brazilian bakery with all types of smoothies, groceries and delicious Brazilian foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner at a very affordable price. There are many others restaurants around the corner, along with several small neighborhood business. After a long trip, go across the street to a Float Spa, Wellness Center, to relax, get your joins loose after a long flight and get in to a deep state of relaxation, check them out at (URL HIDDEN)
There is a marked refrigerator shelf with your room number for you to keep your food, as well as space in the cabinets to put groceries. Please, DO NOT EAT other guests' food.

We love traveling, Ma has been our home since 1983. We do speak Portuguese in addition to English, Caio is fluent in Spanish, too. We love animals and have two cute cats, who are all rescues.
We have been blessed with two children, grown now and living away. So, the empty-nest syndrome, our love of travel, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures have inspired us to host with Airbnb.
We do our best to be there for the checking in, however, due to our working schedule, isn't always possible. Arrangements will be made for the key and your checking in instructions will be sent 24 hours prior to your arrival with all instructions.

All long term guests must agree for the housekeeper to have access to their bedroom one time ( day TBD ) per month for cleaning. The Common areas are cleaned weekly.

Depending on what our guests want, we are available. We are always available for any assistance related to their trip or stay, whether it is requiring extra toiletries, a subway pass, or some space in the fridge to store perishables. We love to interact with our guests and learn about various things but we take the cue from our guest. We have hosted over 300 guests, and many times we have dinner with them or they are out sight seeing the whole day and just home to crash- both are fine with us. We request you to think of this place as your home away from home. You may expect a pristine home but it's also home to adults and a 5 year old, so some mess and chaos is to be expected. That being said we go out of the way to make sure our guests are comfortable once we know your requirements.

Other things to note
We do not wear any footwear in the house because of the mud and germs it tracks in.

Also, we have an 9 year old that is curious and friendly. You may meet her occasionally. Since we are living in the same home, we are often downstairs using the kitchen and other common spaces so forgive us for the clutter. If you require access to the common spaces, we will be happy to clean it up for you to access them for your use. Please feel open with us and communicate any concerns you may have.
