Upon arrival, LESSEE will conduct a full property inspection and notify LESSOR immediately of any damages noted at that time. Failure to do so will result in LESSEE being charged for anything noted by cleaning staff upon LESSEE’S departure.
Subleasing this unit is not permitted.
Adult supervision must be present at all times for anyone under the age of 18.
Should the LESSOR become aware of any violation to the above policies by LESSEE, the LESSOR will have the right to an immediate eviction of the LESSEE and all persons on the property. Any remaining nights stays will not be refunded.
All trash and recycling MUST be placed inside of trash bags that are securely tied closed.
Pick up all trash and recycling, bag it and place it in the trash and recycling cans provided and get out to curb for pick-up.
Throw out or remove ALL personal items brought into the house.
Place all soiled dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle.
Please do not strip or remake beds. Soiled towels should be left on the floor by the washer/dryer in the unit, or if the laundry is outside or does not have laundry facilities, leave the laundry on the kitchen floor.
All furniture and other items must be returned to the same position they were in at move in.

Safe neighborhood located a few blocks from UWSP & the police department. During the warmer months you have access to our spacious backyard along with hammocks and an assortment of yard games. Downtown is within walking distance (1 mile) and there are many bars, restaurants and coffee shops in the area. Schmeeckle Reserve is a short walk away (0.4 miles) with a biking/walking trail around Lake Joanis where you can unplug and take in nature at its finest! SentryWorld Golf Course is only 1.2 miles away, extremely walkable.

The Birch Room is one of two rental units available at The Mink Building in Iola, WI. The Birch Room is designed to provide a restful retreat and is ideal for third-shift contract workers, as it is very quiet. Walk to restaurants, coffee shops and a wellness studio across the street. Elements of nature and art are present throughout the Birch room and the Mink building.

The Birch Room is designed with many little luxuries. A restful retreat, the Birch room has a Tempur-pedic mattress with luxury pillowtops and all cotton sheets. In the Birch Room, a fully-loaded coffee bar comes equipped with a Keurig coffee machine (with coffee pods) and a mini-fridge has complimentary beverages. A smart tv can be used to stream your subscription services using the Mink building wifi.

The Mink building has been newly renovated and provides lots of amenities for our guests.

A Soundbath, created from remodeling a sauna, is clad with aromatic cedar and a Bose surround sound system. Enjoy deeply relaxing sessions, listening to nature-based music or crystal bowl sounds.

An indoor court, located on the lower level of the Mink building, can be used for yoga and to play raquetball, wallyball and pickleball.

A lounge features an island seating area perfect for breakfast, lunch or supper. An Alexa echo sound system can be used to play music, a podcast or listen to the news or weather. The lounge area also has a sofa, chairs and a coffee table for relaxing and is a great place to gather and relax.

Also, within walking distance is a park on the lake, an outdoor walking path along the creek and the Millstone gelato shop, Iola Coffee Co, Little Wolf Art Gallery, and the Crystal Cafe.

Several Ice Age Trail segments are within a half hour drive from the Mink and include: New Hope, Iola Ski Hill, Skunk and Foster Lake, Waupaca River, Hartman Creek, Emmons Creek.

The space
This bright 2-bedroom apartment is simple and uncluttered, but has all the basics. One room has a queen bed; the other has two queen bunks. Each room has a large closet.
Bathroom is shower over tub, two sinks and a long counter space, stocked with basics.
Kitchen is moderately stocked: with new appliances - fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster. As well as silverware, cutlery, cutting board, cookware and utensils.
Laundry closet has washer and dryer and is stocked with some basic cleaning supplies.
Living room has a sofa and a few chairs. The sofa is new and very comfortable.
There is an electric fireplace and a little reading nook next to a window overlooking Third Street.

The apartment is upstairs and there is no elevator, so you need to be able to maneuver easily up and down stairs.
Some things to be aware of:
The cafe downstairs opens at 7am and staff is in there setting up starting at 6am. It's not terribly loud, but it is audible. The cafe plays music and you can hear it.
There is a restaurant next door that stays open until 10pm-ish and you can hear their customers, music, clean up, etc. Again not terribly loud, but it is audible.
Street lights are bright at night, but all windows have shades/blinds.
It is located downtown, so expect some downtown-y nighttime noises. It's Stevens Point though, and not San Francisco, so again, its not bad.

The apartment is kid friendly but there is nothing blocking the entry stairs, so for toddlers, you will want to use caution and block them off with a chair or something.

The apartment also has a TV with a Roku that you can login to your Netflix acct, etc.

This apartment has both lake and channel access in the heart of the Chain 'O Lakes and is walking distance to dining amenities, a newly remodeled iconic music venue and two marinas. Guest access
The entire updated apartment with full kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bathroom as well as a private deck and fishing dock on Columbia Lake. Please let us know if you are bringing a boat so we can discuss trailer parking. Two kayaks available.

No tents, campers, or motor homes. Occupancy is limited to four people.

Other things to note
From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, there is a three night minimum rental requirement. A iconic Chain'O Lakes music venue is located very close by and has bands on summer weekends which can easily be heard when outside and at times, indoors. The property is located in the hub of the Chain.
