The Aerie is the entire upper floor of our home with its own ensuite (toilet, shower, external sink and mirror and is ideal for up to four people, or for small families. The small balcony gives a fantastic view of the surrounding area. The suite contains a double bed and two single beds in an open Bedroom/Sitting room area. If the weather is cool, a gas fireplace will quickly warm up the entire floor. A record Chinook Salmon Run is predicted for Port Alberni, so fishermen should book early for August & September fishing. The area also offers fantastic hiking, Cathedral Grove, a cruise on MV Frances Barkley to Bamfield or Ucluelet and some great restaurants. Ucluelet/Tofino are within 102/138 km). Port Alberni is in the middle of beautiful Vancouver Island between Nanaimo and Tofino on highway 4. Room #3 is our premium room. This room is beautifully decorated and comes with a full size King sized bed, a walk-in closet, which is great for backpackers bags or those on longer trips with more luggage. This new guest cottage is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are beautiful ocean views from the deck, large french doors and huge windows. The decor has a boutique cottage feel. The farmhouse sink and high end appliances make this cottage a great place to cook and enjoy. This cottage is a very private separate building from our home, with a private hot tub in your own courtyard. It is a completely self contained, equipped space with everything you will need for a great stay!

The space
Our 400 sq foot cottage includes fisher paykel fridge, whirlpool stove, dishwasher, microwave and washer and dryer. Coffee, cold beverages, and condiments are provided. If you like to cook you will find all the pots and pans you need. There’s even supplies and a handheld mixer for the bakers. There is a private 2 person hot tub, with small backyard including a bbq and sitting area. There are two TVs, 55 inch in the living room and 43 inch in the bedroom, with cable tv and Netflix available. Bluetooth Bose speaker provides great sound. High speed Wireless internet throughout. The bathroom has a custom barn door, heated designer tile, and glass enclosed shower with separate high end rain head and handheld shower fixtures. In the bedroom you will sleep on a brand new, super comfortable mattress, covered in 500 thread count luxurious linens and feather duvet. There is a custom dresser to unpack your suitcase and make yourself at home. Two luxurious robes are provided to be used on your stay. The blue tooth, charging station alarm clock will get you up in the morning if you choose not to sleep in! Bedside lights with dimmers are located on either side of the bed. At night turn on the electric fireplace and dim the chandelier in the living room to create a romantic, cozy evening.

There is a key lock box at the entrance of the cottage. Guests will make their way down our driveway and along the fence line, down the paved path to get to the deck and the entrance to the cottage. Street parking is readily available. There is parking available in the driveway in front of the suite upon request.

Other things to note
The cottage has a very private courtyard which contains a hot tub and bbq for cottage guest use during your stay. Your stay will be in a very quiet, safe neighbourhood. The beach and neighbourhood coffee house are a 5 minute walk away. The closest shopping center is a 5 minute drive or 7 minutes on the bus, these are not within walking distance. This is a quiet neighbourhood location and will require transportation to shopping and the city Center. It’s got a great, close to the beach location but is located in a quiet neighbourhood setting with houses Close by.
