Bright and airy accomodation in the lovely waterside village of Stoke Gabriel. Large open plan living space with cooking facilities, dining table and sofa bed. One bedroom with a king size bed and en suite shower room. A short walk from the village centre, with it's own private entrance and windows overlooking a rural hillside; the Annexe is perfect for a quiet get away.

The space
Situated in a quiet part of Stoke Gabriel, next to a babbling brook. The Annexe is a warm and comfy space perfect for two people. We live on the same plot and so will be on hand to help with any questions you might have during your stay, however due to the separate entrance the annexe is a completely private space.
Stoke Gabriel is a great destination in itself with three places to eat, and a wealth of watersports on the River Dart, not to mention being renowned as one of the countries crabbing hotspots! It is located midway between Totnes and Paignton, so makes a great base for exploring both the South Hams and Torbay.

You are welcome to bring your pet as long as they are housetrained. There is a £10 additional charge for bringing a pet. We have a springer sized dog bed and plenty of old towels for muddy paws available on request. The field behind is a secure space that has plenty of bunnies for sniffing out. Please note however that it is a field and not a garden so watch out for brambles and rabbit holes as you explore. The view from the top is worth the climb.

We have chickens who live in a run in the field, sadly due to current bird flu restrictions we have to keep them in their run and ask you not to enter it. If you would like any eggs during your stay, please let us know and we will pop some over to you. There is an electric fence around the run as we have had problems with foxes but this only turned on over night. Please take care on the slope up to them as it can be a bit slippery, we are going to put in some proper steps but it is all a work in progress at the moment.

We have recently made an agreement with a friend that they can put some beehives in the field, the hives are well away from the Annexe and fenced off so there is no danger of accidentally stumbling upon them.

Other things to note
The Annexe is next door to our family home where we live with our four children, two dogs and a fluffy cat. The field which guests have access to is home to a small flock of chickens, who are secure in their run, and most recently three beehives, which are far enough away from the Annexe that you will not be aware that they are there unless you walk past their fenced off area on the way to the top of the hill

There are two small rooms at the top of the house, one with a double bed and the other a single. Both rooms have windows front and back that are full of light and sometimes even sun! The single room can be used for a guest or as a sitting room and space to leave bags. This is where I will leave a kettle with tea and coffee. The plant filled landing that connect the rooms has stairs down to the rest of the house and the bathroom for guests use only.

We do not have off road parking but space is usually available on the street outside the house. The road is a cul-de-sac and so is quiet.
It is about a 5 minute walk to the river and just a little more to the shops, bars and cafes.

I will be pleased to give you a continental style breakfast in the kitchen/dining room overlooking the back garden. Among other things I can offer locally made artisan bread and home made marmalade and jam. Towards the end of the summer, you can try my home-grown tomatoes - delicious with olive oil and garlic!

Just minutes walk from the centre of bustling market town, Totnes, Garden Cottage is hidden away down a quiet street with no through traffic. It's beautifully fitted and furnished complete with a wood burning stove and has a delightful private garden.

The space
Although just a few minutes walk from the centre of the bustling market town of Totnes, Garden Cottage is hidden away down a quiet street with no through traffic and the loudest sound is usually the birds in the trees. There is a private parking space and then you approach the cottage through its private and very sunny garden.

Totnes is a fantastic base to explore South Devon. It has a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants but is also close to some fantastic beaches and the wild open spaces of Dartmoor. There are also some great walks from the door.

The cottage was originally the changing rooms for a tennis court that belonged to the grand house next door, but it has been beautifully and tastefully converted into a luxurious cottage perfect for a couple. However one additional adult or child can be accommodated on the sofa bed in the open plan sitting room and kitchen.

There is a good sized open plan living room with a stylish galley kitchen, dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa, flat-screen wall-mounted TV, and a wood burning stove. Beyond that you reach the large and very bright double bedroom. The bedroom has a king-sized (6ft) double bed. Next door to the bedroom is a luxury bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The well-equipped kitchen has utensils and crockery chosen with real care. There's also a washing machine, dishwasher, free wifi (the internet however in Devon is not particularly fast) and a flat-screen TV. The cottage has its own private parking space (a rarity in Totnes) but is also only 15 minutes walk from Totnes mainline station with direct trains to Bristol, London and beyond.

There are also some fantastic walks and bike rides from the door. The walk/bike ride up the hill to the Sharpham Estate is particularly recommended and you can combine that with a visit to taste some of the excellent local wines at Sharpham Vineyard.

Holst has a large private adjoining bathroom (with bath), plus an additional single bed.

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Nestled in one of South Devon’s most charming and ancient villages Hillside cottage is located in the heart of the village a stone’s throw away from the pub. With magnificent views of the church and walks from the front door peace and tranquility awaits you.

Guests are welcome to use all of the house including the lounge, kitchen, dining room, courtyard garden, store bikes (max 2), hose down dirty dogs, and generally relax as if you are in a small boutique hotel.

You have exclusive use of the bathroom which has a full walk in shower as well as a roll top bath, wash hand basin and toilet. (I have my own en-suite)

I have a small cocker spaniel who lives with me who loves to welcome people. He will make you feel very welcome.
