Guests come up a private driveway to the rear of our house, and in through our back garden gate, and then The Annexe is immeidately to the left. Guests are given access to a key safe in their own private courtyard and have their own separate entrance to The Annexe. There is an allocated private parking space for The Annexe about 20 yards away in a private car park (less than 1-minute walk) and cycle storage if required.

"The Annexe" is a completely self-contained detached property but very close to our house, effectively in our garden, so although you are completely separate and left to enjoy your stay in privacy, we are usually not too far away should you have any questions, and are always happy to help if we can!

Stoke Fleming is a friendly, peaceful Devon village close to beautiful Blackpool Sands (a short walk down the hill). It has a fantastic pub (The Green Dragon), a popular restaurant (Radius 7), a park, village shop & post office open daily, and a hotel (stoke Lodge) open to non-residents which has both an indoor and outdoor pool.

A car is advisable in the South Hams, but there is a regular bus service (no.3) from the village to Dartmouth and along the coast road to Kingsbridge and onwards to Plymouth.
The nearest train station is Totnes (approx 20-30 mins by car/taxi) and the fast train is 2 hours 47 mins to London Paddington and 3 hours to Birmingham New Street.

The bedroom of "The Annexe" backs onto our garden so in the warmer months we are likely to be out there in the day enjoying the sunshine (we hope!) or having an evening BBQ but we would try to keep noise to a minimum and would not be out there after 10pm.
"The Annexe" is close to the village church (you look out onto it from the bedroom window) and the church bells do chime regularly on the quarter hour, so if you are a very light sleeper this may disturb you, and may not be the property for you.

There is a small but stylish bedroom with a standard double bed (4'6"), a chest of drawers and dressing table.

The shower room has a large walk-in shower, basin unit, toilet and underfloor heating.

Quality bed linen, towels and hairdryer are provided. Free wifi and electric heating throughout.

There is a small private courtyard for "The Annexe" with table & chairs so you can sit outside and enjoy the morning sunshine.

You can approach the property from either Ford Valley when walking back from the town or Fairview Rd where you may choose to park your car and walk down to the cabin past the main house.

Other things to note
There are outside lights along the shingle path which you can turn on when you go out for the evening. The switch is in an outside weatherproof box on the side of the cabin. Please turn the lights off when you return.

The space
Fords House is centrally located within the picturesque village of Stoke Fleming, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house offers two tastefully decorated double bedrooms, both with their own en-suite facilities. A delicious array of breakfast options are offered each morning until 9am.

Vicky's cottage is situated on the South West Coastal Path, only a 15 minute stroll to the award winning Blackpool Sands Beach. The Green Dragon Pub, a real locals favourite, is only a 2 minute walk from the front door. Fords House is located within 10 minutes drive of the historic naval town of Dartmouth for riverside walks, independent shops and the best fish and chips.

One parking space for each bedroom is reserved on the driveway directly outside of the house. The quirks of having a cottage means that our driveway is quite tight on space so you will be required to park in a narrow slot. However, the village has plenty of free on street parking should you need more space, feel free to ask!

The Gables studio is a quirky, self contained annexe, located next to the main house. It's a very relaxed space, decorated in a beach hut style. We are situated at the back of Stoke Fleming village surrounded by fields, with beautiful Blackpool Sands beach just a 15 minute walk away. We are on the South West Coast Path, and it's the perfect place for walking and exploring the beautiful South Hams.

The space
Our annexe is a fun, unique place to stay and ideal for families and young people. Access to the sleeping deck is via a ladder which is raised and lowered on a rope pulley. It is not ideal for young children and parents would have total responsibility for access to the ladder and sleeping deck.
The bunk beds are situated on the ground floor, as is the sofa bed.

We have a shower room and separate toilet, well equipped kitchen area with oven/ grill and microwave. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk will be provided. Breakfast provisions may be requested prior to arrival and for a small charge.

Other things to note
We are a 5 minute walk from our local pub, The Green Dragon and village shop. The cafe on Blackpool Sands does a great breakfast with breath taking scenery. Our favourite breakfast is Cafe Alfresco in Dartmouth.

Directions to the annex via Totnes:

If you’re following a GPS from Totnes, it’ll tell you to take a right hand turning onto Venn Lane just before entering Dartmouth. It’s a single track lane that goes on for about 10-15 minutes. Follow the road - don’t turn off at any point. It’ll take you into a valley and then back up into the village. You’ll come out at the top of a big hill with bungalows on your left. On the same road, drive down the hill into the village and the annex is attached to the big White House (first on the right hand side of the road).

Directions to the annex via Dartmouth:

Follow the signs to Stoke Fleming from Dartmouth. As you drive through the village, you’ll see the village hall on your left and immediately after it, take a right hand turn down a road called ‘Ravensbourne Rd’. Follow this road to the end past the park. At the end, turn right onto Venn Lane and the annex is attached to the big White House half way down the road (before the hill starts to ascend and on the left hand side).
