The fully equipped kitchen includes all the amenities – oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc.

There are two (2) bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the second with a twin bed. Fresh linens, pillows, blankets and comforters are provided. This lovely, sunny, one bedroom apartment boasts exposed brick, large windows, and hardwood floors. In the bedroom, which faces the rear of the building, (away from Calvert St.), there is a queen size bed with a 12 inch, memory foam mattress, soft sheets, and cozy bedding. Luggage racks and shelving to store your clothes are in the closet.

In the main living area, there is a sleeper sofa that folds out to a queen size bed to sleep two additional guests. There is also a workspace with a desk and a table with seating for 4. Borrow a DC guide during your stay (please return it when you leave!) or help yourself to a book from our library.

The kitchen has basic cooking necessities, (including a single-serve coffee maker, microwave, toaster, etc.) a dishwasher, and basic knives and utensils. The apartment has a three piece bathroom (no bathtub) and fresh towels.

Cable and Wi-Fi are included, as well as a flat screen TV.

You can easily access downtown DC and all the sites of the city. Walk to the National Zoo and other attractions.

PLEASE NOTE: Street parking is very hard to find. During the week, all parking in the neighborhood is 2 hour parking or resident only parking. The apartment is just a short walk (less than a half of a mile, about 7 minute walk) over the bridge to the Adams Morgan/Woodley Park metro station (red line) . It is within 2 blocks of multiple downtown bus lines (L2, 96,42,43, etc,) as well as the Circulator bus. Capital Bikeshare is less than a block and Uber or Lyft are always available.

This historic building was built in 1908 and has beautiful crown molding, exposed brick, and multiple chandeliers. Relax on the front patio with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy people watching.
There is a coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement of the building that is available for use.

Local weekday sandwich mainstay Mangialardos's is also a stone's throw away for weekday lunch and Sweet Crimes is perfect for a gluten-free treat. A few blocks east and you'll find plenty of open space on the the Anacostia Riverfront Trail system or at Congressional Cemetery, one of the oldest institutions in DC with lots of local programming. A 15-minute walk west you'll find the restaurants on Barracks Row and historic Eastern Market (including Trader Joe's).

Other Things to Note:
You may note that our place is directly above the Hill East Burger restaurant, a Washington Post-recognized restaurant. We believe this lends to a unique yet classic DC living experience.

In case of any concerns about being above the restaurant, please know that the home has a vapor barrier installed in the floor of the room (2nd bedroom) above the kitchen below. We also have an air purifier in that room, as well as the mini-split, so air-flow is very good within the unit. The restaurant closes at 10pm on weekdays, and 11pm on weekends, noise should not be an issue at all during quiet hours.

In terms of any noise from the restaurant, it would only ever possibly consist of dull, practically inaudible sounds during normal business hours, and they don't play loud music, so excess noise has never been an issue.

This serene 2nd floor room features a beautifully crafted King size wooden bed and an original decorative fireplace. French doors lead to a large flower-filled private deck overlooking the pool and furnished with bistro table and chaise lounge for secluded relaxation. The elegant bathroom features an oversized travertine marble shower and sunny vanity area overlooking the pool. The room was originally designed for the lady of the house as her dressing room, it has become our most requested room.

This light-filled third floor suite is decorated in a modern organic style with wallpapered decorative fireplace. Featuring nine foot ceilings and raised wood panels, the spacious bedroom welcomes you with a handsome King size bed. The window dormer is outfitted with built-in benches and table. Open the French doors to find a separate sitting room for lounging complete with a daybed. This suite can accommodate up to 2 adults + 2 children with a rollaway bed. Additional fees apply.
