The cabin is located on our 4 acre plot about 200m from our house with a view of Chanctonbury and a large pond. We are a family with 2 teenagers and 2 friendly dogs and are there to help if needed but far enough away to give you privacy. Steyning high street with its lovely shops, pubs, super markets and tearooms are only 1 mile away. Please note that the dance studio mentioned in the reviews doesn’t exist anymore.

- "We stayed for 5 nights in August and found it a lovely place to have a "get away from it all" stay. The dance studio at the barn was no bother at all - in fact we would play 'guess that tune' to any music we heard. Our stay coincided with the 'One Love' festival down the road which again was no bother with further games if 'Name that tune- reggae style'. The outlook over the lake was lovely and we had regular sightings of the ducks and their ducklings during the day as they waddled their routine rounds. We even saw a deer saunter through the grounds on our first evening there. There are many lovely walks nearby, some of which we explored. After dark we were able to observe the Orionid Meteor shower in the comfort of the decking furniture- fabulous! We had great communication with the owners in spite of them being on holiday themselves. We'd definitely stay again!"

It's a traditional shepherds hut, which means it has what you need for a short stay, cleverly designed in one little carriage.
You approach up 2-3 wooden stepson upon entering, you'll see the beautiful little kitchen made by our wonderful carpenter friend Adam. To your left is the double bed with the MOST comfortable mattress and soft linen. On the right are the amenities... All in all it's everything you'll need!
We've also given you a small outside space, quietly secluded behind a hazel screen with a fire pit and two lovely rocking chairs. On a clear night you get a beautiful view of the nights sky so make the most of stargazing while here!

- "A lovely little cottage in a beautiful setting. We only found out that there was no wifi once we had booked. This also meant that there was no Smart TV as advertised. The listing should state clearly that there is no WIFI. Also the information pack in the cottage gave no instructions regarding the rubbish bins. We had to ask one of the residents about this and then had to find a key for the locked bin! The fridge was very small which restricted our catering. We also felt it was shame that we could not access the lovely gardens."

For any keen cyclists or walkers, the cottage is nearby Route 88 which is a cycle route taking you either North in the direction of Chichester or South towards Sidlesham and Pagham Nature Reserve. The Crab & Lobster is a lovely pub on the harbour front in Pagham Harbour and Nature Reserve.

The Goodwood Estate is just a 15 minutes drive, which offers a myriad of events throughout the season including motor-racing (Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival & Members Meetings) and horse-racing. There are buses and many taxi companies operating in the area, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any help in organising this.

If you fancy a round of golf the Chichester Golf Club is a 8 minute drive away and offers indoor and outdoor adventure golf as well as their tower and cathedral courses for the keen golfer!

Chichester is located a 10 minute drive away and boasts many beautiful parks, some of which with play equipment for children. Oaklands Park, Priory Park and Bishops Palace Gardens offer stunning views of this historic city.
The city walls walk which encircle the Chichester and the cathedral are great if you like to soak up the history of the city.
Chichester's City Gate is an area near the train station which has restaurants, cinema, bowling, arcade games and laser quest.

Chichester train station offers connections to London Victoria in just 90 minutes, and once you arrive, there are plenty of places to explore by bike or on local bus routes.

The lodges are located 1.5 miles (20 minute walk) from the centre of the Saxon village of Bosham and next to Chichester Harbour (10 minute walk), a National Trust Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In winter time when the trees are not so full, you can see out from the lodges across to Chichester Harbour.

The lodges provide everything you need for a private, relaxing getaway in the Sussex countryside or a great base for exploring the delights of Chichester and the surrounding area.

The Crate Café in Bosham is a short 10 minute walk away and offers delicious food and great coffee in a quirky setting. Open 7 days a week both daytime and evenings on weekends.

Bosham has regular bus links on the 700 bus route between Chichester and Portsmouth. Bosham train station is only short walk away.
The village of Bosham has two Co-op shops – both a short 10 minute walk away.

Located only a 5 min drive or 30 min walk from the lodges is the well photographed, stunning waterfront and Quay at Bosham which is well worth a visit. There is a car park in this area with paid parking. Bosham Walk is home to lots of unique, hand crafted gifts in various shops. There are also two cafes here and one sells excellent ice creams! A short walk from here is a lovely pub called the Anchor Bleu which is located on the harbour walls, overlooking the water. Outdoor seating at the back of the pub captures the views and the food is yummy! There is a lovely church in Bosham and a large green, ideal for games and picnics, overlooking the harbour which has the Bosham mill stream running through and out to sea. This is also a great spot for children (and adults!) to go crabbing! If you are keen on water sports, this is a lovely area to launch a kayak, canoe or to go paddle boarding. On a still day or evening when the water is flat calm, there is no better place to be!

There are two other pubs located in Bosham - The White Swan (9 min walk away) or the Berkeley Arms (20 min walk or 2 min drive away). Memories of India is a great Indian restaurant or takeaway and is only a 8 minute walk from the cottage. So India offers Indian takeaway food and is located on the roundabout, this is also very good. There is a fish & chip shop (Butlers) near the co-op on station Road, just a few minutes walk away.
There are lots more pubs, restaurants and cafes in the nearby harbour village of Emsworth (also a great bakery called Heidi's) or in the larger, historic city of Chichester - home to the beautiful cathedral. If you need any help or advise - feel free to ask!

The Landing serves good coffee, yummy pastries and ice cream, and is found just by the beach entrance. There is also a very well-stocked corner shop and off-licence in the village, just five minutes walk from the cabin.

Getting Around:
Easy bus routes into East Wittering, Bracklesham Bay and the city of Chichester. The bus stop is at the end of the road.

The Bakers Hut.

This lovely romantic retreat is set in the stunning rural grounds, located in the hosts private estate, of the well known Artisan Bakehouse, a multi-award winning Bread Making School and have a range of classes to suit all levels.

This shepherds hut has been designed to an exemplary standard to take full advantage of its surroundings, overlooking meadows, beehives and woodland, often visited by wildlife such as birds, deer, and badgers.

The interior of the hut is cosy and well insulated, housing a bespoke kitchenette with a electric oven and hob, toaster, kettle, fridge and compartment freezer. The owner has also provided a foldaway dining table.

A log burner and outdoor fire pit provides additional cooking and heating facilities for those cooler days and nights.

There is a built king size bed and a smart TV in the curtained off bedroom. The bathroom consists of a loo and shower room.

Riverbank Retreat is a cosy unique wooden cabin nestled on the riverbank of the River Adur. It is situated in the country's smallest RSPB bird reserve and is the perfect place to get away and relax.
The cabin is fully self contained and guests will have all they need to enjoy their stay! On your doorstep you will find the ever changing scenery of the river estuary, the wildlife, walks in the South Downs. The picturesque town of Shoreham by Sea is nearby, and the beach is a 1 minute walk away.

The space
Pop Riverside Retreat is a cute cosy fully self contained cabin. Inside you will find a comfy queen sized bed, a sofa, a dining table, a kitchen with sink, kettle, gas stove and oven, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, cafetière, microwave and all you need to prepare meals. I provide fresh coffee, milk ( cows and oat) and snacks for your arrival ( I am happy to provide plant based items to upon request). You will also find cooking oil, salt and pepper for meal preparation.
There is a dining table and chairs for you to enjoy meals and watch the bird life outside.
The Bathroom has a compact electric shower, toilet and sink. I provide towels and eco friendly Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner for you to enjoy. There is also a hairdryer and iron if needed.
The Cabin is carefully decorated in an eclectic mix of vintage and upcycled art work and homewares (this is our passion) and is very unique.
Outside the cabin you have your own table and chair to enjoy a coffee and access to our bike shed with complimentary bikes, helmets and locks to use.
you will also have unlimited use of our kayaks and beach equipment.
The cabin has its own washing machine should you need one and there is a drying rack provided.
In the colder months, the cabin is heated with electric radiators and never gets cold! A tower fan is provided in the summer months.

50 yards away there is a lovely park and outdoor gym for those missing their usual routines.

We provide environmentally friendly products to use during your stay.

We have a flushing toilet but we kindly ask guests to put paper and wipes in the bin provided.

The beach is only 1 minute walk and as a nature reserve, is very special. You can swim all year round and there is a board walk to make a stroll very pleasing at sunset...

Parking is free on beach road, 5 mins away. There is a car park directly behind us which is £5 per day but free from 6pm till 9 am (it is patrolled by traffic wardens)

Guests enjoy sole access to half of the grounds, so plenty of space to play games, explore the many secret footpaths or just embrace the peace & quiet.

Children are most welcome, a cot and high chair are available on request.
For older children (or adults!) there is a tennis court, table tennis table, football goals and badminton. There is also a large trampoline and zip line which guests are welcome to use as their own risk. Bats, balls and shuttlecocks can be supplied - quality not guaranteed!

Tennis Court: Available for guests to use during their stay. Lessons/coaching can be arranged in advance.

In the garden guests will be able to enjoy an evening around a firepit with seating and a swing BBQ.

The space
Large open plan living area extended outside with a large decking area, well equipped kitchen with a dining area. Entertainment in the caravan is provided by a large smart TV, a DVD player with a good selection of DVDs and free Wi-Fi. It has everything needed for your holiday, including a full-size fridge freezer and a dishwasher.

Master bedroom has an en-suite with a wash basin and toilet, King size bed and smart TV with Freeview. Two twin rooms. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, bed side storage etc. Bathroom has a shower, wash basin and toilet. Sofa bed in the lounge gives it the ability to sleep 8 people.
