Purbeck Shepherd Huts are a new boutique glamping offering in the heart of Worth Matravers. We have two huts, each with their own private gardens that have been designed and hand crafted to a beautiful finish. Both huts are completely self contained with everything you should need for a truly memorable stay. Each has a wood burning fire, kitchen, bathroom and a raised bed looking out of the window down to the sea. Chapmans Pool (named after the stunning local beach where we got engaged) is the corner hut that looks down towards the sea. It has a stone wall at the bottom with flower beds surrounding a grass area, outdoor seating and a BBQ. Inside the hut there's a wood burning stove with cosy fireside seating, a fully equipped kitchen and a breakfast bar looking out through the double doors. The double bed with sea views through the window opening provides a great nights sleep after a full day exploring the local area. There is also a small connected bathroom with powerful shower, loo and sink.

The Shower is next door to the Cabin Robes are Supplied as well as toiletries , The Toilet is down by the House it’s an outside toilet but is not shared with the hosts .

When you arrive in Swanage via Corfe Castle you will see to your left a Welcome to Swanage sign and to your right there's a row of multi coloured houses.
At the end of the row of houses you will see a steep road, turn into this road it's called Days road.
continue up the hill past the green triangle on your right up to the next road on your right .
this is Sydenham road , Lavender Cottage is the right hand house on the first semi detatched houses on your left ( our neighbour has a large Caravan in the front garden ) .
if your not confused and lost after these directions we'll done because it's confused me writing it !!

Guest access
Private entrance, steps up to lodge, you will have private use of the entire lodge and secure deck area. There is a keysafe to enable you to let yourselves into the lodge. The host will not be there to greet you in person apologies, however will communicate with you through air bnb. There is a large enough parking space for 1 vehicle. Others share the drive so please park in the space allocated which is in front of the lodge steps.

Swanage is a welcoming Victorian seaside town, with soft sandy beaches and a high street packed with charming independent shops to explore.

Here are a few that have been tried and tested by ourselves!
Pubs 5 to 10 minute walk away are The Globe, The Royal Oak and The Black Swan Inn. The Black Swan is very popular for dining as such, booking is recommended.
The King's Arms at Langton Matravers either a 10 minute drive/bus journey or walk via The Priests Way and so called as was the route the priest walked between his churches! This takes approx 45 minutes.
Spyglass and Compass is walkable along the Priests Way and across fields (sometimes with cattle) and has a museum!

Local shop is Costcutters and about a 3 minute walk away. Turn left out of the lodge, continue to the end of the street, turn left onto High Street, continue walking and Costcutter is on the other side of the road by the bus stop.

There is an Indian restaurant/takeaway, The Golden Bengal which is opposite The Globe pub.
Fish and chips are a 5 to 10 minute walk at Herston Fish and Chips and Chinese from The Wok about a 10 minute walk(cash only). Pizza at Coastal Crust.

Swimming pool and gym at Swanage Bay View holuday park is about 5 minute walk (pay at facility).
A car ride away or bus is Ulwell Holiday Park swimming pool, with occasional fun activities for children such as inflatables (pay at facility).

The dinosaur footprints are walkable from Swanage however if you prefer a shorter walk park at the National Trust carpark Spyway; follow the gravel track from the car park, turn right at the way mark sign for Langton Matravers, continue along the gravel track, crossing the quarry beware of large trucks here! Continue along the gravel track and you will see the sign with a dinosaur pointing right across the field to the dinosaur footprints.

The best route to walk to central Swanage and the beach-turn right out of Seashell Lodge, continue onto Wills Rd, crossover Cow Lane which will be on the left, continue along Priests Rd leading onto High Street, pass the Black Swan Pub, then SPAR shop, continue walking down The High Street, passing Love Cake cafe on your left, cross over the Zebra crossing, the Library will be on your left, pass the Anchor Inn along the narrow footpath, , follow the road round to the left and will find yourself in central Swanage with various independent shops, cafes and coffee shops. Continue walking along this road and you will see Swanage beach on your right.

The space
Our 2 bedroom 2018 Carnaby Oakdale caravan is spacious, modern & luxurious with double glazing and central heating throughout- a real home from home.

The decked area has a small rattan table and chairs for you to enjoy one of the best views on the park of stunning Swanage Bay.
The lounge area is a great size with a comfy L shaped sofa and flat screen TV.
There is also a pull out double sofa bed making this suitable for 5/6 people.
There is a dining table and chairs for family meals.
The kitchen area is spacious, complete with hob, double oven and microwave.
Also full size fridge/freezer.
Bedroom 1- has a King size bed wardrobes, overhead storage ,vanity area & bedside tables.
There is also a small TV.
Bedroom 2- has 2 single beds, wardrobe and overhead cupboards & bedside table.
There is a shower room with shower, toilet and sink.
Please note duvets and pillows are provided but you will need to bring your own pillowcases & bed linen.
The van is on Aria Resorts Park which hosts a bar area, swimming pool & gym (charges payable to the park)
Please don’t be put off by our lack of reviews- we have successfully rented our caravan through the park since July 2023 and it’s been owned and looked after by our family since new.

This peaceful, stylish static is very relaxing, with extras like beach gear & bed toppers so you don’t need to worry. Set In beautiful countryside just 5 minutes between Studland’s stunning, sandy beach and the charming seaside town of Swanage. There is SO much on the doorstep, you will not want to leave. On site is an indoor pool, park, shop & bar/ restaurant. Nearby are coast & country walks (hikers paradise!) beaches, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Monkey World, Brownsea Island, to name a few!

The space
The open plan kitchen is well stocked with cooking basics like oil, salt, pepper, coffee and tea. There will be milk in the fridge for your arrival. The kitchen has a tall fridge with a 3 drawer freezer. The oven and hob are gas. There is a microwave, 4 slice toaster and a kettle. It is a very easy kitchen to cook in. A bar area with two stools, overlooks the lounge. Additionally, the dining table makes for a relaxing place to dine, play board games or read the papers.
The bright and open lounge area has windows all around, allowing light to flood in. The large Smart TV / DVD player sits above an electric fire, should the heating need a boost. Stretch out on the large L shape sofa or there is an additional two seater.
The double doors open onto the balcony which has bench seating. Feel free to use the beach chairs (they’re inside the bench) on the balcony. It offers a peaceful place to relax and catch the sun or admire the beautiful hills and views.
Off the corridor are three bedrooms:
one kingsize with ensuite WC generous wardrobe,
one twin suitable for children
one small double where two twins are pushed together, single wardobe.
There is an additional bathroom with shower, toilet and sink off the corridor. Hand towels are provided so please do pack large towels.

Our lovely caravan has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed 'king size duvet' with en suite toilet.
The other bedroom has 2 single beds.
There is also a small pull out double bed 'double size duvet' in the lounge area..
The fully fitted kitchen has everything you need.
Utensils, plates and cups etc..

Other things to note
All bedding 'duvets and pillows' are provided as well as hand towels and tea towels.

Butterfly Lodge is a premium holiday home on the Jurassic Coast, accommodating up to six guests across three bedrooms, in a well-appointed and comfortable layout.

An elevated position allows for stunning views across the iconic Swanage Bay and Purbeck Hills. It’s set within a quiet holiday park location, and has easy access to central Swanage and its beautiful sandy beach, as well as some stunning Dorset coastal path walks.

The space
This amazing modern lodge at Swanage Coastal Park welcomes guests up a few steps and onto a gorgeous wrap-around gated deck. Towards the front side of the deck, facing north-east, and offering 180-degree views from Corfe Castle over the Purbeck Hills to Swanage Bay, is a beautiful balcony area complete with contemporary rattan style armchairs — absolutely ideal for summer drinks in the sun soaking up the incredible views.

Inside the main entrance-way is a spacious, light, and inviting open-plan kitchen living dining space — complete with vaulted ceiling, and wood flooring.

The kitchen comes well-equipped with washing machine, integrated fridge freezer, oven & hob, extractor hood, microwave, small appliances, and ample storage — beautifully finished with wood veneer worktops and a cream cupboard finish.

There’s also a large kitchen island with a breakfast bar on one side with four bar stools; some basic food supplies and cleaning equipment; and plenty of cookware, dishes, trays, utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware.

Towards the front of the open-plan space is a dining table for six, around a simple oak table & chairs set, next to a large window with incredible views. The dining area can be expanded further with a pair of French doors opening up the main balcony of the decking.

The lounge is also towards the sea view side of the property and comes complete with a comfy L-shaped sofa, pouffe, coffee table, and a TV plus Blu-Ray DVD player, to watch all your favourite shows and films on.

The sleeping accommodation has three well-designed bedrooms and five beds, ideal for family groups.

The first bedroom along the hallway is a twin single room, complete with two comfortable single beds, a bedside cabinet, a soft carpet, and a good-sized wardrobe for storage.

The second bedroom is an additional twin room, with a bedside cabinet between two single beds, a soft carpet, and a tall wardrobe with plenty of space for clothing or other items.

The master bedroom, at the very rear of the property, features a double bed with neat bedside storage cabinets on either side, soft plush carpets, and a large window allowing in plenty of natural light. A walk-in wardrobe space is hidden behind the head end of the bed and features shelving, a hanging space, a vanity unit & chair with plug sockets, and a small bookcase. Also in the master bedroom is an ensuite shower room, with toilet, shower cubicle, basin, storage unit, and a heated towel rail.

Lastly, a beautiful bright family bathroom in the main hallway completes all the rooms, with a full bath unit, storage cabinets, toilet, basin, and a heated towel rail.

Included in your stay are bed linens, towels, a tea towel, and some basic washing up materials. There’s also a travel cot and highchair for an infant.

The whole property benefits from park-controlled free Wi-Fi, a gas central heating system with radiators, double-glazed windows, and secure railed and gated decking area. Outside there’s private parking available for two cars towards the rear side of the lodge.

For people with limited mobility, Butterfly lodge is mostly on one level — there is a small flight of stairs (leading up to the deck) of 5 steps with a handrail, a small step over a door frame to enter the front door, and a small step over the door frame to access the deck from the dining area. Otherwise, the lodge is all on one level.

Other things to note
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Butterfly Lodge, but sorry, this is a non-smoking and vaping property.

Swanage Coastal Park has a reception and small shop for basic amenities and groceries, a laundrette, and a children’s play area.

There are no passes needed for Swanage Coastal Park, as this is a quiet holiday park location without any leisure or entertainment facilities.

The proximity of the lodge is about 1 mile from central Swanage, which takes about 20 minutes to walk into, or just 5 minutes by car. There’s also multiple walking and hiking trails that can be picked up directly from the holiday park, or close-by via car.
