"Isolated but in a wonderful way - allowing us to explore through woods and steep and deep cliff paths that were teeming with butterflies and wild flowers. And the views from the cliff tops - wow! Little Marsland lacks nothing - a comfy family home with a gorgeous garden.” Joanna
"We loved the house and beautiful garden and stunning location. Definitely a place for people who love walking, the coastal path is awesome.” Susan
Perfect paradise
'My first impression was wow heaven and as I walked around the property it just got better and better. Little Marsland is a beautiful cottage set amongst a beautiful woodland peace and tranquility just the birds singing and the rustle of leaves a perfect place to relax. The cottage is equipped to a very high standard, well maintained and obviously loved by the owners as this comes across within the cottage and gardens which are lovely. Will definitely be going back and would recommend to all.' Sharon T.
My happy place ...
'This was our 3rd stay here. The property is beautiful, well kept and clean. It is well equipped with more than you'd ever need. The gardens are well established and well fenced for dogs. It is well out of the way without being too isolated, there are small shops in nearby Kilkhampton and bigger supermarkets etc within 30 mins in Bude. There is a beach within walking distance and access to some great walks inland and costal, it is really hilly in places so you get a good workout. There are also beaches within a short drive. The way the property is configured makes it ideal for 2 families or extended families to stay as there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and the same downstairs with the living room on the middle floor and a huge kitchen / diner / sunroom area to the side. We love it here it is so peaceful and relaxing. The owner is very friendly and helpful and replies to messages promptly. Would definitely recommend a stay here.'
- "We had a great Christmas week staying at the cottage. The cottage was cosy with the log burner and provided for a very comfortable stay. The split of bedrooms worked well for us, we stayed on the top floor with my wife's family on the bottom. There's a large well stocked Kitchen with a big table for us all to sit round. Large glass windows from the Kitchen looking out to the rear and across the hills provided a nice relaxing spot to sit back and enjoy a coffee. Our daughter enjoyed the swing and slide in the garden as well as exploring the wider area, some lovely walks to the local beach and across the hills. The cottage is remote but that added to the charm.Bude is only 20 mins away and we enjoyed exploring the town, some nice cafes/shops and of course the beach etc.A lovely week that will provide us with some fond memories "

Great base to travel only an hour from Newquay and other brilliant beaches. Hosts were friendly and helpful if we had any questions about the local area. Views from the cottage are stunning the bleeting of sheep didn’t even bother us the place was that beautiful. - "We had a lovely time during our week at Miller's Rest. The cottage was a brilliant size for a family of four with plenty of room. The kitchen equipment was limited for self catering and the wet rooms needed a little TLC due to use over time but nothing major. The location for Widemouth Bay and Bude (approx. 10min drive to Bude) was perfect. Being on a working farm added to the charm of the location and it was nice to be able to walk around. Carol and Michael were very welcoming and on hand if anything needed. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo"

- "Fab venue, professional interactions, fun, fun, fun in a beautiful part of Cornwall." - "Lovely stay here, everything we needed for 6 adults and 2 children. Very secluded and peaceful but close enough for a quick trip to the beach and shops. Amazing communication with Rebecca, the owner who was lovely and very helpful. Will hopefully be visiting again very soon. " - "We have stayed at the Stoneleigh Knowle estate on a number of occasions now and at The Stables on this last holiday for the first time. It is comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Typically of the Estate owners, great attention to detail has been given to comfort and practicality. There is a large table for family meals, comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen, ample drying space in the covered open barn right next to the property. Our children made plenty of use of the play fort too. The farm and wood land is open for exploration. We happened across a badger within 10 feet of us on one dusk walk. The beaches are easily accessible by car too. Crackington Haven is, perhaps, our favourite and we highly recommend the farm shop at Boscastle too. All in all, Stoneleigh Knowle is a lovely spot for a break of any duration, with or without children. "

The Mill is a gorgeous one bedroom ( plus separate 'cot room') barn conversion close to Bude and Widemouth Bay. It is in a tranquil location only 10 mins drive to Widemouth Bay and the amenities of Bude. Perfect for couples or those with a baby. The main living space has a stunning vaulted ceiling and huge window with views in to the surrounding Cornish wild flower meadows. Dog friendly and with a private enclosed garden. With the luxury of a roll-top bath and a log burner to keep you feeling cosy, this cottage truly is a fabulous getaway.
- "Comfortable base for north Cornwall" - "This is easily the nice self catering property we have stayed in anywhere in the world. The Mill is really cozy with it's woodburning stove and sofas. The bedroom is lovely and very comfortable we both slept really well. The kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to use. Even though it was early January we enjoyed walking on the beaches and the benefit of this time of year is the dog is welcome every where. I would thoroughly recommend the property for a relaxing winter getaway."

- "Brilliant location, quiet yet with a short drive can get into Bude or just down to the bay. Gorgeous garden which was really good for us due to the dogs. The kitchen was near enough unusable, the job and oven are very very old. A funny smell from the oven and the hob did work but barely. We had to give up with eating at the cottage due to this. Overall the property was clean however having a little one whose toys go everywhere, between the cushions on the sofa was filthy! I would still definitely recommend and would return. - "A real "gem"......surrounded by absolutely beautiful countryside and walks. The Bude beaches are, literally 5 minutes drive away....some dog friendly, plus we could walk to dog friendly Black Rock Beach, which took 20-30 minutes across the fields. Pat was wonderfully friendly and helpful...she greeted us, with tea and scones....delightful lady, as was her son, Alastair. A heated outdoor swimming pool was a real bonus too, especially for our granddaughters. Goose Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion, very well equipped and spotless....one of the cleanest holiday places we have been to. Booking again next year! Penmor is an ideal base for a peaceful holiday within a short walk of one of the finest beaches in the county. The accommodation is ideal for a couple or a family with 3 separate bedrooms and ample space for dining and cooking. However you can easily while away the hours just watching the ever-changing view down to the beach and Black Rock and across toward Hartland Point, as the beach is west-facing it is exposed to some great Atlantic surf, and there is RNLI lifeguard cover from the beginning of May through until late in September with some extra cover outside at weekends. The sunsets here can be truly breathtaking, keep your eye out for a green flash as the sun dips over the horizon! What's more you can bring your family pet as Penmor is dog friendly. Dogs are allowed at Black Rock beach (just below Penmor) all year but there are restrictions at the far end of Widemouth Beach through the main part of the season. The SW Coast path is always dramatic, and here is no exception, but please be careful as some of the cliffs are 100m high.
There are ample opportunities for fun days out near here, Bude is well worth a visit it became popular as a Victorian holiday resort with a small commercial harbour, a canal was built, predominantly to ship sand inland in the early 19th century and this allows protected boating right in the heart of the town, there are two tidal sea pools, Bude Sea Pool on Summerleazes Beach is large and semi-natural and provides a safe place for wild swimming, while the more discreet, Tommys Pit, was originally a men only pool with a 2d charge for use and a 1d fine if caught swimming in the nude, both pools are now free! Boscastle is a wonderful day out further west, stroll around the pretty village and its traditional harbour and maybe include a walk to the magical St Nectans Glen. Much as we love Cornwall Penmor is relatively close to the Devon border and it would be a shame to miss out on a trip to "Britain's most Instagrammable village of 2020" - Clovelly.

- "Lovely location on top of cliff near Widemouth Bay with a great view. We arrived to scones with jam and cream provided by the host. It was clean and spacious with plenty of storage. There was a folder with useful information which we referred to frequently. We slept really well as it was extremely quiet and peaceful (except for the odd sheep bleating near the bedroom window :)). There was plenty of instant hot water for showers and the kitchen was well equipped. There was a nearby beach within walking distance and Widemouth Bay was a little further. The dog was allowed on the closer side of Widemouth Bay so we enjoyed plenty of walks, especially as there was an entry path to the coastal walk almost opposite the end of the driveway."

This sandy beach, backed by geologically fascinating cliffs, is noted for surfing but is also great for swimming and dog-walking. The southern end is available for doggie fun all year. Alternative routes back can make a circular walk, and if timed right, offer views of the sun sinking into the Atlantic Ocean.
Boots Cottage is well placed at the foot of rolling hills and offers many interesting local walks – with or without canine friends. The picturesque village of Marhamchurch with ancient church of St Marwenne, community shop and village pub is a short walk away along the canal and route of the old inclined plane.
The Weir Bistro is a 5 minute walk from home and boasts views over the canal with fishing lake and conservation exhibition together with an enticing menu.
Wildlife is in abundance locally (herons and kingfishers are happy residents) and a bird-hide is situated part-way along the canal path into Bude where ducks and swans are in abundance. There is also the opportunity to take out a row-boat or do some crabbing.
There are many places of interest to discover a little further afield via car, bike or public transport – Bodmin Moor, Boscastle and the Eden Project to name but a few. Truro is an hour’s drive and offers a culturally interesting town with many cafes and Cornwall’s inspirational cathedral. The National Trust offers the working flour mill and superb estuary view at Cothele, with Llanhydrock and Trelissick estates affording beautiful parkland and flora.
There is so much to see and do that we hope visitors will be compelled to visit again (and again!)
